I am very upset and angry.

We took the girls to rutland water to walk the dog and get an ice-cream, not gone for long and some toe-rag smashed in the window and snatched my hand bag , which was well covered ( RADLEY :scared1:).

My DH thinks he saw them as he had gone back to the car as DD needed her inhaler - which is why I took my bag in the car in the 1st place.

Luckily DD felt better once we stopped walking and waited for DD to return with the car. I have been on the phone cancelling all of my cards and work pass etc. DH has been reporting crime to police ( apparently it happens a lot up there)

The window on the car can't be fixed until Wednesday.

gladly I only has £4 in my purse, so they won't be getting their 'fix' on me! and only had a debit and 1 cc to cancel.

Makes me so mad, angry and upset. :sad1::mad:

Oh you poor thing. It feels like such an invasion of privacy when someone does that! I hope the police find them.

That is awful, I cannot believe these people. I'm glad that you are all ok, and that they didn't get away with anything money wise.

thank you all for your kind words. :flower3:

It's horrid to think that someone is looking through my stuff.

i have paid Equifax for a credit alert, in case they try to steal my identity. i have an excellent credit record and I don't want these folks to benefit from their crime any further.

That's awful - I can't believe how low some people will sink. I have to say, though, I never, ever leave anything of value in my car :sad2:

Oh dear, so sorry to hear. It's so upsetting and frustrating having to sort all your bank cards etc out.

Worthless scumbags.

Let's hope what goes around comes around to them.

Big hug to you ~x~

We've all done it
I left the children's games console in the glove box (out of sight) they smashed the window and raided the car :headache: Of course took the console (my fault) kick myself now , I had my handbag why didn't I put it in there I will never know.
So your not alone.

It infuriates me how they get away with it,it's the mess and headache they leave behind too.

My car and house got broken into a little while ago. The night before I had left my house keys in the glove compartment - if I hadn't taken them out that night, the burglars would have had keys to every door and I would have had an expensive time with a locksmith. Everyone makes mistakes - you were not stupid, just unlucky.

Andrea, sorry hun, I didn't mean to make it sound like I was being judgemental - didn't think before I typed. I really am very sorry and I hope your nice DH replaces your Radley handbag for you ;)

I just have to add how great the police have been. We reported the crime and they took a full report. today a PC rang DH asking him if he recalled anything else and gave his number in case he needed to call back. Said they would put it in local paper to see if anyone saw anything.

Can't say the same of the card companies etc. T-mobile wanted to charge me £9.70 for a sim card with my old number. I declined. I can text them my new no. on my new phone :confused3 And my card co. said ' if you find your card...' speech? :confused3 so much for call centres.

Have to also add that, when we discovered our car, a load of Japanese tourist were cycling by and stopped to look and shake their heads. Bless them, there were obviously quite concerned but couldn't communicate this. What a lovely nationalty! there was also a buddist camper van and orange clan 'ommm' types, and our antics didn't disrupt their meditiation. I am sure Dali could paint a great picture of the scene :lmao:
