Well we just returned from the BWV's and this trip had some disappointing moments.

First when we arrived at 10:30 AM I was greeted by a manager who told me that we would not be getting our Boardwalk View 2 bedroom room because of renovations. I was so disappointed because our waitlist for a Boardwalk room came through only after 4 days on the list way back in January. The woman said that Member Services should have called us to warn about the possibility of not getting our Boardwalk view room. Well they did not. It would have definitely lessened the blow a bit if I was warned a head of time. And we were also thinking of changing our trip back in February to stay somewhere else for less points and adding a day to our trip making it a 6 day trip instead of a 5 day trip. But the Boardwalk View kept me from changing our plans because I love that view.

So after that big adjustment we went to the pool for a few hours waiting for our room to be ready. When it was ready around 3:30 PM we headed to our room and it was a beauty. The room was on the 5th floor and was newly refurbished. It overlooked the quiet pool. We also had a direct view of Tower of Terror and could also see Expedition Everest in the distance. We had a view of the canal but it still wasn't the Boardwalk.

I'll continue our trip report later.

Yes they gave us some money off our dining plan which was nice but I still wish I was told before I arrived so it wouldn't have been such a downer. The room we did get was really nice. If I get my pictures on the computer soon I'll post some for you. And we did love the view.

Later we went to Epcot and heard some of the music from the U2 tribute band. They were very good. Then we went to Tutto Italia and had a wonderful meal there as usual. After we went on the Mexican ride, Soarin', and Nemo then walked around the aquarium. It was getting late and it was a long day since we were up at 3 AM to get our plane so we called it a night.

The next day we went to the Boardwalk Bakery and they no longer have the chocolate chip twist. I love those so I was disappointed again. I got the chocolate croissant so I was happy. We headed to Magic Kingdom for opening (rode the horse carriage up Main Street which was nice) and did all the rides in Fantasyland except Peter Pan's Flight because the line was too long and then did Haunted Mansion. We figured we'd wait until tomorrow to do the rest since MK was having EMH in the morning. We were getting hungry so we stopped in Columbia Harbour House for some lunch. I never ate here so I guess it was ok. It was around 12:30 so we headed for the exit and went in the pool for a little bit.

After that we were hungry for some sweets so we went on the Boardwalk and got some ice cream at Seashore Sweets. They had Espresso Chip ice cream and I was in heaven.:cloud9:

After that we relaxed in the room for a bit before heading over to the Beach Club for dinner at Cape May Cafe.

During dinner there was a huge storm and luckily my brother was dining with us and he had a car so he drove us all back over to the BW. We waited a while for it to slow down and then got a bus to HS for EMH. We did TOT with only a 20 minute wait and then we all did The Great Movie Ride and Star Tours. We headed to see how long for Toy Story Mania and it was a 50 min. wait. It was already going on 11PM and we were up early at MK so we left and went to bed.

Sorry to hear about your room being changed. What a disappointment!! But those quiet pool rooms are sooo nice. We had one last time right on the 1st floor at the corner and it was ultra convenient. We could walk right from the patio to the community center, the picnic table (where we ate take out pizza a few times and the quiet and regular pool).

Wow, I would be really disappointed too. I have a boardwalk view for the beginning of December and hope this does not happen.

Sorry to hear about your room change. I would be disappointed if I had Boardwalk view and was placed somewhere else without notification before check in. :confused3 Hope the rest of your trip gets better. Chocolate does seem to ease the pain:rotfl2:

It has been reported that the new flat panel TVs are not yet in the refurbished rooms because they are waiting for new armoires. Can you confirm?

We had the old TVs. I didn't even realize that until you asked.

Those new rooms certainly look nice! I have always loved the BWV location, and absolutely hated the decor. It was like they purposely set out to make everything clash! :) These newly refurbed rooms look much more toned down and much more pleasing to the eye! It sounds like you are having a great trip after the initial disappointment. I'm looking forward to hearing more!

BTW- does anyone know what size TVs are going in the studios at BWV, I always found it hysterical to open those large armoires to find a tiny 13-in TV. I hope they are putting in something a little larger!

You got my favorite view, overlooking the quiet pool! :goodvibes

My son adores the community hall and it seems we spend an awful lot of time there.

The rooms are a lot more toned down. They are really nice.

Oh and just a FYI for those of you who have things shipped to the resort. We always get 2 cases of bottled water delivered to the villa and when they were delivered we were told that there is a $5 per box service charge. So the $15 bottled waters turned into $25 plus a tip. I don't think we'll ever have water delivered again.

The next morning we woke up early to hit EMH at Magic Kingdom. We've never been up this early on vacation before and it was great. We did Pirates, BTMR, and Splash Mountain in a little over an hour. We headed back to the resort for some lunch at the BC Marketplace. The turkey and mozzarella sandwich warmed up is delicious and the chocolate gelato is out of this world good. We ate outside at the tables since the solarium was crowded.

After that I took my middle dd to Epcot for some one on one time while the others went in the pool. We went to the French Bakery and had 3 desserts to share. We were only supposed to get 2 and share them but the strawberry tart looked too good to pass up. We also tried the chocolate mousse and something that looked like a canolli with cream in it. It started with nid .... Everything was great.

That evening we had dinner at WGP Cafe and again we were a little disappointed. They don't have the Maytag Blue cheese and truffle kettle chips on the appetizer menu anymore. They don't have the Weinnershnitzel (sp?) anymore. And the most upsetting part was NO MORE CREME BRULEE:sad2:. Sigh....I got the key lime pie and it was ok but I was looking forward to the creme brulee.

After dinner we walked around downtown and shopped. We got to see the hot air balloon go up a few times. That was interesting for my youngest to see. We had to stop in Ghirardelli and had a Frozen Mocha and a free chocolate square with almonds (very good).

It was around 11 PM so we headed for the bus and called it a night.

The next day we went to Hollywood Studios around 10:30 AM for our Fastpasses for Rockin' Roller Coaster. Only my oldest dd and myself will ride this ride so we got 4 passes so we can go twice.

We went on TGMR again and finally so the show where they stop at the old west theme and the building catches on fire. That was cool.

It was getting crowded and hot so we all went back to BW for lunch. I picked up some sandwiches and desserts from the BW Bakery to take back to the room. I love the Mozzarella and sundried tomato sandwich.

It was finally time to go back and ride Rockin' roller coaster so my dd and I headed for the boat to HS. We had some time to waste so we went on Tower of Terror :scared1:for the second time this trip since it was only a 20 min. wait again. I don't know why I keep going on this ride because it really scares me.

After we went on Rockin' Roller Coaster the first time with very little wait time. The second time we had a little more of a wait. They had to shut down the ride because a little boy about 6 yrs. old wanted to get off right before the ride takes off. So the lights came on, they called maintenance, and some people who were in charge of that ride to get the boy and his father off the ride. Finally about 20 minutes later we were moving again. This ride is always exciting but twice in a row was a little much. Feeling a bit dizzy we headed for the exit.

I'll continue later.

I like your view!
It must have been disappointing to not have Boardwalk as you thought though.

We had water view and were very disappointed. Our water view was a sliver of canal from our patio, which was always blocked by a service truck. We were right by a maintenance door.

Keep the posts coming. Love the pics

Thanks for posting pictures and great details...sorry you missed out on the Boardwalk view. We have a 2B BWV booked for late October and as I read about the progress of the refurb (through great eye-witness reports like yours) I have been preparing myself for the chance of getting a pool or garden view instead. Guess I am ok with knowing we will go again, but it sure would stink to be blindsided at check-in like you were.

Glad you had a memorable time with your family!:goodvibes
