AIRFARES...THIS WAITING IS KILLING ME!!!!!

I just got on tonight to just check and see what the airfares are since I have been good and tried not to check too much this week. Southwest has released their December fares (in case anyone was waiting for that) and they have right now a $66 internet special. With fees and all the fare is $157 and some change from Midway to Orlando. After talking to dh, he said that maybe I should just hold tight. I really don't like flying out of Midway and I've only driven there once so I'm a bit nervous about that part. The other kicker is that KimRaye and I really wanted to try and fly on the same flight. Oh this is just so killing me to wait on airfares....I'm not patient when it comes to trying get the best deal for my money and at $157...to me right now, that's not a bad deal!!!!!! UGH...thanks for letting me just vent this out......OY!!!!

Oh Chris.....$157 is mighty good. Did you see if Spirit is matching that out of O'Hare? I've never flown them, but my sister did and said they were okay.

I've never flown out of Midway, Chris- but $157 sounds like a good airfare to me!

I did. In fact I checked Spirit before I checked Southwest. And I did that because I checked Orbitz so I wanted to see if they were right. Right now Spirit is $226 but they have had fares through October at around $54 one way. I much rather go out of O'Hare but gosh...the $157 is just such a great price right now.....oh well. I guess I'll sit a bit tight for right this minute...now tomorrow might be a different story!!! :D :D :D :D

Chris $157 is the cheapest I have ever seen, even after I booked after 9-11 it was closer to $180 RT. I normally am happy to get $200-$230 rt :D

I got $160 on Spirit last December (bought in November). I'm really hoping to get something that low again! I saw that price out of Midway but O'Hare is just much more convenient. And I love Spirit. So I'm trying to hold tight a while longer--I get the Spirit Cyberfares newsletter and am hoping they release December flights on it soon!!

My SIL paid $211 on United out of O'hare last Thanksgiving, and at one time I briefly saw the fare dip into the $130's. Remember that airfares are at least $10 higher now because of the additional airport security fee.

Chris - doesn't Southwest give you a REFUND if the same flights get less expensive? If it were me - I'd be a buyer.

I don't know Nancy...I have only flown them once. Maybe Brian will see this and know more. I he's flown Southwest quite a bit. I'm more apt to go O'Hare too just because I know how to get there, I know the parking, I know the airport. Plus if I don't want to drive to the airport there is a shuttle that is 30 minutes from us that will drop right off at the terminal and is only like $28 round trip. So I guess I'll hold tight.

I subscribe to the syber fares on Spirit too DG and everytime I get an email in my box I think...okay they are on December know!!! ROFL Would be cool if we could all fly out together......hehehehe they would kick us off the plane!!!! ROFL

Chris, know that I wait patiently WITH YOU! (Well, I'm trying anyway!) I'm also using Travelocity's fare watcher alert. They've emailed me several times but, not for travel through Dec. yet. :(

While I'm not flying out of Chicago, I'm watching the fares like a hawk, too. Flights from the Philly area are horrible right now. The cheapest I'm seeing is around $230-250! I'm not paying that. I'm trying to fly out of Allentown. It's closer to my house and it's a much easier airport to get to and fly out of. I keep watching. :)
