Cheryl, are you and your mom still coming in on Wednesday?

Yes, we are.

Thanks for the link, Beth.

I would LOVE :lovestruc to see The Lion King. They have a show at 4 pm on Sunday that would be perfect. And orchestra seats are $61.00. Then we could have dinner afterwards. I have to turn in early (10 pm or so) Sunday cause my flight leaves at 9 which means I have to be at the airport at 7:30 am. Then I have to work half day doing month end stuff. Blech. :headache:

But did I read that Cheryl already saw it or has no interest?
Marcie & Cheryl, anything else look good to you?

I have not seen The Lion King and would like to.

Sunday
Lunch at Dicks around 11:00.
After lunch, go to Bellagio to see conservatory, fountains, and then next door to Caesars for some pumpkin cheesecake.
Dinner @ Burger Bar (time??)
Chippendales for Marcie and Beth @ 7:30
Not sure yet which show for Cheryl, Doris and Linda.

Do you all want to skip Dicks and just do appetizers and dessert at Cheesecake Factory? :confused3 They open at 11:30, so we could do that, then go check out the Bellagio?

I'm okay with either, just thought that might be easier then trying to get to and from so many places......

Just poppin in to say hi and have a great trip, ladies!!! I'm sorry I'm going to miss this one, but I trust we'll get to do more next year:thumbsup2 I know you will have tons of fun and I expect pictures so that I can at least live vicariously through you all :rotfl: Think of me while I'm working away and you're playing in Vegas, baby!!!

BTW - Beth, I think Marcie would rather go to The Lion King than Chippendales...... Just sayin :confused3 :dance3:

I have not seen The Lion King and would like to.

OKay, so now on Sunday, you, your mom and Linda will go to see Lion King at 4?

I just got a message from Marcie and she says she'll pass on that. So if Marcie and I are going to Chippendales at 7:30 and y'all will just be getting out of your show around 7, most likely we won't be able to meet up between there.

Sooooo, guess it's just me and Marcie for dinner! I'll be going home after Chippendales because Ruben has to work the next day, so I will only see you on Sunday afternoon.

Are we still on for lunch and the Bellagio that day then? We can do lunch and dessert at Cheesecake Factory, then hit the Bellagio conservatory and fountains before ya'll have to start getting ready for your 4:00 show. :confused3

Beth, how's the weather? I am going to be cold in my little dresses!

I'm going to pass on the Lion King. I will be sad Sunday night :( all alone lol. Linda if you want to grab a drink when we get back to the hotel Friday night I'm game. Just don't talk to Theresa firt she'll probably tell u some story about me staying up all night. Don't listen haha.

I double checked and it says they have a 4 pm and an 8pm show on Sunday. We could do the 8 pm and that way we could spend the rest of the day together up until that point. I was being selfish and saying 4 pm cause that's best for me, but I think 8 pm is best for the group.

Cheryl, do you want me to book us seats for 8 pm or do you want to do it? I can send you the cash or visa versa.

I really want to see the Bellagio so we can skip Dick's. But Burger Bar sounds good. I want to squeeze in the CSI Experience somewhere.

Cheryl, what do you think? Marice, does Bellagio and Burger Bar sound good to you?

ImMarcik
11-11-2009, 08:46 PM
I would be in for CSI. Burger Bar sounds good, really I'm easy as long as I get my few requests, hot men, friends to laugh and cut up with and a drink or two (was going to say drink or 10 but I won't do that to Beth again haha)

Beth, how's the weather? I am going to be cold in my little dresses!
During the day we'll probably have highs in the 60's. At night it will get cold, so definitely bring some sort of jacket for the evenings. Brrrr!

But that would put your show over at almost 11:00!! That's really late isn't it? Will Cheryl's mom be able to stay up that late and won't you be tired the next day? :confused3
Don't worry about me and Marcie. We'll be ok. Since we are skipping Lion King anyway, do what works for you three. We can still hang out during the day.

I really want to see the Bellagio so we can skip Dick's. But Burger Bar sounds good. I want to squeeze in the CSI Experience somewhere.

You guys could and should still do Burger Bar after Lion King because it's in Mandalay Bay literally right up the escalator from where the Lion King theater is!! You can't get anymore convenient. lol

Where should we work in CSI? On Saturday instead of the museum? :confused3 It's up to y'all.
My replies are in red.

I'm easy as long as I get my few requests, hot men, friends to laugh and cut up with and a drink or two :yay: :woohoo: :cool1:  :thumbsup2 Amen!!

I know, right? Marcie, you really gotta loosen up a little and just go with it!!! Take pics, it won't hurt (much :rotfl2:). And the Chippendales are probably a leetle bit advanced for you right now. I vote you wait until the next trip before doing something so wild as that. Start out slow, Marcie, and pace yourself :rotfl:

:rotfl2:
Good question. I don't know either! We should go find out. :rolleyes1

I think you should wait until next time I can come down too and I'll show you around the Chippendales, 'K?? I don't want to set you two loose on them on your own :scared1:

How much you gonna pay me :rolleyes1 J/K!!! Linda, you are going to have so much fun! The Lion King sounds like a lot of fun (never seen it.....) and I love CSI. You'll have to tell me all about it, just speak loudly so my sobbing won't bother you too much

Sunday
Lunch at Cheesecake Factory @ 11:30, followed by Bellagio conservatory and fountains.
Cheryl, Doris and Linda go to Lion King @ 4:00, with dinner after show, around 7:00 @Burger Bar.
Beth and Marcie go to dinner at Burger Bar @ 5:30, then to see Chippendales.

Marice, I can't wait till we have a drink together. But not too many or I get into too much mischeif. And then DH won't let me go again. Wait, he won't know, right? ;)

It's all innocent fun. Beth and Theresa are married and have fun (i think) :rotfl: As for me, i would love to be married to prince charming, but since the fates are against me, i talk to EVERYONE in Vegas. :rotfl:

Just remember, what happens in Vegas can go home in pictures.

Okay, I know we are not getting anywhere since we keep changing, but I just want to add to Linda that the Price is Right has a Saturday 2:30 show. I think this would be a lot of fun.http://www.bestofvegas.com/Shows-Tickets/The-Price-is-Right-Live-Las-Vegas-Show/?&cm_mmc=Travelzoo___website-_-The_Price_is_Right-_-NA-_-NA

Beth, what are the hours of the musuem? We could always just pass on a show completly Saturday and do the musuem, price is right, CSI, eat at Wolfgang pucks then go to Kahunaville. Just a thought.

This is a great idea though Marcie!!! Someone had their thinking cap on this morning. :thumbsup2

The CSI Experience runs every 10 minutes, no reservations required but they do recommend you purchase advance tickets, and is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
It lasts approximately 60-90 minutes, and the cost is $30.

The museum is open from noon to midnight, no reservations needed, and like all museums it only takes as long as you want to spend walking through it.

The Price is Right is at 2:30, but you need to be there at least an hour prior to register. And the running time is 1 hour and 45 minutes. You do need tickets ahead of time, and the cost is $50. So that would take from approximately 1:30 until ending at around 4:30.

So based on that info and the things we want to do that day, what do you think of this:

Saturday
10:30 brunch at Peppermill restaurant
12:00 Erotic Heritage Museum, walk around for an hour or so
1:30 Be at Bally's to register for Price is Right (1:30 until approx. 4:30)
Back to MGM to change for dinner
6:00 dinner (reservations required) at Wolfgang Pucks in MGM
8:00 CSI Experience (60-90 minutes)
By 9:30 we should be ready to head to Kahunaville for drinks.

It would be busy, but fun, AND you'd get everything you all wanted to do in there.
Let me know if that works for everyone.

The link Beth provided shows TPIR tix for $39 (regular price $55).
And yesterday that link had 30% off of The Lion King and today that offer is gone. I am so mad! Do you think it will come back? Again, I don't want to pay full price. We'll figure something out! I really need Cheryl's input. :flower3:

Noelle's birthday is coming up, and so is Adam's, and Christmas of course. lol Besides I'd be mortified if I was called on!!! :scared1: I am not one to want to be in the spotlight.

I can meet up with everyone Saturday morning, do brunch, hang out until time for you to go into your show, then I can walk down to Planet Hollywood or Caesars and do some shopping until you are done.

Beth, what was that that link you posted about the CSI experience - 2 tix for $35? Can we get that?If Cheryl is still signed up for the shopping show, she can call into the show and get those tickets. It's a pair for $35. Otherwise it's just regular price.

I'll probably pass on that too. I'll just do the dinner and then meet up with y'all again for drinks.

Beth are you going to see if Jane & Amy need a ticket? Cheryl is you Mom going to Price is Right?
I told them once we got plans set, I'd send them the itinerary and they could pick what they wanted to do and when.

But first I need to make sure we are set before I send it to them since they have to arrange for child care and such. I don't want to switch plans on them! LOL
So, is this set now??

Friday
Arrivals at different times.
Beth and Marcie go to dinner, followed by The Mentalist (hoping to get cheap tix that day)

I don't even know that the Price is Right thing is! LOL

Someone has to point me in the right direction--between being gone last week and being sick I am lost.

These are the hours the show is on the air:
Monday through Friday
7:00a.m. - 9:00 a.m
1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m

Saturday & Sunday
9:00 a.m. to Noon

If you call during those hours to (702) 221-SAVE they should be able to help you out and either look it up or get a new one. Just tell them you are signed up, but lost your number. Then tell them you want the CSI Experience tickets. They are listed at $35 for the pair. Which is perfect, one for you, your mom, Linda and Marcie. The sooner you call the better because they will mail the tix out to you and you want to make sure it arrives in time.

If you'd rather not deal with calling in and such, you can order tickets directly from MGM but they are $30 each: http://www.mgmgrand.com/entertainment/csi-the-experience.aspx Either way, they recommend you order in advance.

The Price is Right thing seems fun!! You've watched the tv show before right? Well, it's the same thing. Here is a link with all the info: http://shop.vegas.com/shows/showtimes2.jsp?show=881
I think your mom would like it. And maybe one of you will win a new car!! :yay: Or a microwave. ;)

Marcie said she would order those tickets, just let her know how many. :thumbsup2

I have a small change in plans. My in-laws are coming that weekend and so I have to spend some time with them now. Nothing major.

I'll be at the hotel Friday around 4. Marcie and I are going to eat at Dicks Last Resort in Excalibur. Then probably see The Mentalist which starts same time as Gordie does, 7:30. So we should be finishing around the same time. Are we still on for meeting for drinks at Carnaval Court after? Or maybe a Ghirardelli sundae?

Saturday I won't be there all day. I'll be with family.

So Marcie was going to see what y'all wanted to do for breakfast and/or lunch for that day. She'll be hanging with y'all and also going to Price is Right.

I'll be there that evening around 5 in time for dinner. I'm making the Wolfgang Puck reservations for 6 to give everyone time to change and such, is that ok?

I'll be sitting out the CSI thing and then go with y'all to Kahunaville. I'll also be spending the night with Marcie, so I'll be there for Sunday plans. I'm looking forward to lunch at Cheesecake Factory! Pumpkin cheesecake = LOL
And the Bellagio of course.

Then I guess we split ways again while Marcie and I go to dinner and Chippendales, and the rest of you go to Lion King and then dinner.

I'm excited to hang out and see everyone again!!! :dance3:

Ok--here is what I propose:

Friday: everyone arrives and that evening Linda/ Mom and I got to dinner downtown and Gordie. Are we meeting up later?

Saturday--I think we just hang out, maybe meet for lunch, before the Price is Right thing. (Marcie, please get tix for me and Mom). Then dinner. I will call the shopping show and get CSI tix today. Then Kahanuaville--right?

Sunday I don't believe Linda and I have finalized our plans. Lunch at Cheesecake sounds good. Although I was hoping to do Dick's but I guess Marcie needs her "taco" fix earlier?

Does anyone want to put any input on brunch on Saturday? I am easy, we can meet up at the resort to eat or pick a place or keep the place we have. We can change the time too. As long as we can be at Bally's by 1:30?? Maybe 11 or 11:30 instead of 10:30? There is a Rainforest Cafe at MGM that opens at 8 am so they would have brunch.

I just need a taco fix period. :lmao: If y'all want to go Sunday I can wait, I just wanted to make sure and be able to go.

Ok--here is what I propose:

Friday: everyone arrives and that evening Linda/ Mom and I got to dinner downtown and Gordie. Are we meeting up later?

We can meet for a drink and/or dessert at Carnaval Court if you want. Our shows should finish up about the same time. You can call us when you are done.

Saturday--I think we just hang out, maybe meet for lunch, before the Price is Right thing. (Marcie, please get tix for me and Mom). Then dinner. I will call the shopping show and get CSI tix today. Then Kahanuaville--right?

Perfect. I will be there in time for dinner. And yes to Kahunaville.

Sunday I don't believe Linda and I have finalized our plans. Lunch at Cheesecake sounds good. Although I was hoping to do Dick's but I guess Marcie needs her "taco" fix earlier?

My Mom has started packing. she's going to be the only one ready.

I am planning on "casual" too--no cute little dresses this time. (not that I'm all that cute in them anyway--)

Marcie--details, we want details girl! I actually decided this week that men are more trouble than they are worth. And no--I'm not 'switching teams'--just taking a break--a LOOOONNNNGGGGG break!

I need to get my rear in gear--Brandy is housesitting/dogsitting/catsitting again and my house is a mess--so I have to clean up so it's not a pit for her--the cleaning lady comes on Friday but Brandy will start staying on Wed. when we leave.

I also have gotten really busy at work in the last week (of course--doesn't that always happen?)

I believe I got the CSI tix in the mail today--got a letter from Vegas so I'm assuming that's it--haven't opened it yet. Beth--do we need to try to make a "reservation" for Sat. night? do you know?

I know that Dawn would want us all to have a good time--I've been crying and depressed too, but that isn't going to help her. And wouldn't be what she would want--she is such a fun-loving person that she would be mad at us! (and boy is she going to be mad at me for posting so much personal info about her! LOL--let her be mad--I don't care!)

I told Brandy today that once Dawn is better I am planning a trip to WDW with her--even if we just stay at a resort and order room service I think we would have a fab time (and you KNOW we'd end up eating everywhere--LOL)

In the meantime, i am looking forward to some Vegas time with my girlies and putting a few pennies in the slot machines!

I have not dated a man with kids very many times in my life, my ex husband didn't have any. The guy I'm seeing has twin boys who are 15 and a 6 year old boy and i am in love with them. The twins are a year younger then Aerial and they get along. I hope everyone has a great time in Vegas - even though I'm not going to be there (boo!!). Linda, I'm sorry I won't get to spend any time with you..........

Remember to have a pretty pink drink for me, put a few dollars in the slots for me, and say an extra loud WOO HOO for me (just keep your eyes of my man, 'K????). I'm so in for next time :woohoo: Remember that I want TONS of pics so that I can pretend I had as much fun as you all are going to have! And don't leave the curlers at home - they are tres Vegas :cool2:

There's a new man in my life these days. LOL I know, what else is new. We've been seeing each other almost daily...but still so looking forward to getting away.

:lmao: That is why I love you!!

You are so right, Beth.

I just read Cheryl's post on the Diva Feb trip thread and I am just a mess. Depressed and crying. I can't even post cause I just don't know what to say. It's going to be hard to try and have a good time and not constantly worry about Dawn.

Anyway, I am really counting on you, Miss crazy-fun-girl Marcie to make me laugh and remember what fun Vegas is with a bunch of middle aged women! And Beth, so I keep my direction and know what's next....and I need a big hug from you. And Cheryl, you are such a special friend.

Thanks for letting me speak my heart.

Linda I am with you! I am at a loss for words.

This totally made me smile & laugh!!

I need to get my rear in gear--Brandy is housesitting/dogsitting/catsitting again and my house is a mess--so I have to clean up so it's not a pit for her--the cleaning lady comes on Friday but Brandy will start staying on Wed. when we leave.

Mental note to self...get a cleaning lady!

She might be upset...but she will see how many people care about her!

I told Brandy today that once Dawn is better I am planning a trip to WDW with her--even if we just stay at a resort and order room service I think we would have a fab time (and you KNOW we'd end up eating everywhere--LOL)

How fun! She will love that!!

In the meantime, i am looking forward to some Vegas time with my girlies and putting a few pennies in the slot machines!

Win BIG!!!

Hey ladies. Given everything that's happened in the last 24 hours, I'm not sure if y'all are still up to making this trip. If not, I totally understand.

Personally today I'm not sure how I feel. Sort of numb really. In a bit of a fog. Having a hard time getting my head around it all even now. :sad2:
I do know that I miss you all and could really use some hugs and girly time with my friends though, so if you do come, it will be great to see you. :grouphug:

Beth: Linda and I talked about this last night. The only reason I wouldn't come is if they schedule Dawn's services this weekend--I'm hoping (selfishly I know) that they won't schedule it right away because of the holiday weekend--plus they had planned a big birthday party for Dawn's grandma's 90th birthday this weekend (which is why Dawn wasn't coming to Vegas with us). I don't know if that is going forward or not. Linda and I are both otherwise on board to make the trip--I think we all need "real" hugs. As soon as I hear anything I will let you know.

Thanks for thinking of me, though.:)Are you sure? Well, it's up to you. I have to head home right after the show that night, around 9-ish and I know Marcie will probably still be up for some fun, so maybe the two of you could get a drink in the MGM later on.

Also there is a store right in the same area as the Burger Bar. I have a coupon for there. It's $25 off any purchase of $50. So basically half off. I was going to see if you wanted it. I cannot fit into the clothes there, but maybe you can find something or find something fun for Bree. If you want. And Jane is coming to the dinner, but not to the show after, so the two of you could always go for a drink or play some slots after.

My flight doesn't leave Monday until 11:45 am I am half tempted to move it earlier, but I guess a good night sleep will do me good. I may just go home rested for once. :lmao: I'm kinda thinking once Beth goes home and Linda goes to bed just take a shower, pack, play the slots a bit and get a good night sleep. I just wish my flight wasn't soooo long, I won't be home until 7 p.m.

For some reason I am stressing today, over my flight, over Christmas shopping, packing, going 4 days without seeing the guy i'm dating LOL. I need to go ahead and just break down and buy Aerial's Christmas online today or tomorrow and be done, one less stress.

I need to go ahead and just break down and buy Aerial's Christmas online today or tomorrow and be done, one less stress.I hear ya. It's just the time of year. I've seen a couple people post how every weekend between now and Christmas is already booked up for them with different plans, parties, get-togethers, shopping, baking, etc. Whew!! It's exhausting!! Even though it's all fun, it can still be stressful, kwim?

Make a list. That's what I do. Putting down things I need to do and when they need to be done by, or things I need to buy, even writing down my menus for Christmas breakfast and dinner, helps to get it all out of my head.

It sounds a little OCD, lol, but it does help. Otherwise the thoughts and to-do lists get all jumbled in my brain and I feel like I'm going to explode!! It takes the fun out of it when you're stressing.

As for your man, don't you know..........absence makes the heart grow fonder. When you return, he'll be kissing the ground you walk on. Tell him he can take the time your gone as a chance to do his Christmas shopping for you. ;) :rotfl:

Nothing like waiting until the last minute, I just decided this morning I don't have enough pairs of jeans to bring. I don't have a lot of jeans since I dress up for work. So, I ran out at lunch and bought a couple of pairs. I hope they look good, I barely got to see them on. :lmao: I'm not packing until tomorrow and I think I'm going to just bring all jeans and just a variety of sleeveless, long sleeve and short sleeve shirts and a couple of jackets, maybe a pair of heals or two, some flip flops and tennis shoes. Not sure what I want to wear.

As I posted earlier, Friday looks like a complete no go, but I am good for at least dinner on Saturday and Sunday. If I can juggle a few things around, I may be able to come down to the Strip earlier on Saturday and catch up to wherever you might be at the time. I will also likely go to Kahunaville for a short while, but since I have to drive home  that night, I can't have too much fun. But, I do LOVE the Otter Pop drink I discovered on my birthday. awww...I missed you too!!! If I can juggle an easy schedule spring quarter and just have math as my hard class, I should be able to make it.

Everything was hurting so I wouldn't have noticed if my ears were burning!!

Hey I might come in March to Vegas, spring break.

He called me when I was driving home from the airport to make sure I was going to see him. I picked up Aerial and we went over there for the evening. Deuce wanted to know when I was spending the night again, and now Aerial is saying she would be comfortable staying over there. This is just getting weird.:goodvibes

Yeah, but you know the time will fly. Plus we have the Divas trip in Feb to hold us over.

We could move it up to May. As Stacerita would say...just sayin'.
As long as we avoid Mother's Day and Memorial Day. We have to see when we can get a smokin' deal.

Marcie, that is great that it is all working out so smoothly. I could see it in your eyes when you talked about him that you really care for him. And then you just had to buy gifts for his kids, so that shows genuine affection. :lovestruc I am sure by May/June you will be ready for some Diva time with us in Vegas.;)

I just wanted to say I had the best time. I enjoyed it all. We had some great meals, too. Our waiter at Dick's was great. I have some pictures that will try to post on FB. Ok, I won't lie, Brianne will post on FB for me.:)

I had so much fun too!! I was so happy watching you and Cheryl dancing and doing shots at Kahunaville. :dance3: And the food at Wolfgangs was so good. Gotta try the pizza next time. :thumbsup2

I think May is too restrictive, much as I love the thought of moving it up more.

There's Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and then there was one weekend that Marcie couldn't take off and one that Theresa couldn't take off.

I'm all for moving it sooner, but unless they can work out their dates, I think the first weekend in June is better. :confused3

Oh and in the meantime if any of you get the urge to come for a quickie, just let me know!! :cool1:

Just throwing this out there, because it sounds like May is a no-go...Is there any way we could push the trip out further in June? Like the 17-21? The only reason is because I would really like to stay at Treasure Island and it's almost half the cost to go the 17-21 rather than the 3-8. :confused3 If not that's fine, I just like saving money. :goodvibes

In any case, I'm really excited about going back to Vegas. So excited that I had a dream about it the other night. :rotfl:

Actually we passed on that weekend because it's Father's Day. And the last weekend in June, the 27th, is my anniversary and I cannot be gone over that, so I wouldn't be able to make it.

I think the first weekend in June is really the most convenient for the most people. Not that it's ideal, but then no time ever is perfect for everyone, kwim?

As for rates, it's still really early. They will change, up and down, a million times between now and then. So no worries on that. We'll keep hunting down those deals. I think everyone was excited to stay at either TI or the Mirage since they are centrally located and they are connected with that tram so both are easy to get to. :thumbsup2

LOL on dreaming about Vegas! I am glad to hear you are excited. :cool1: :yay:

Okay, there is a 50/50 chance I will be off the Saturday January 9th, if i am it will be my last one off until April 15th. But, it's a sort of last minute work or not, so I am not even sure it would be possible.
