After having cancelled our ten night trip due to the economy, we were offered a two-bedroom condo on the beach in Marco Island. So our plans were to go to Marco Island--free condo, free airline tickets and then just spending money on car rental and meals (I'll do a lot of cooking and we'll just eat out a couple of nights). I got a brainstorm last night that I still had a deposit on hold from our cancelled Disney trip and with the $96 rates out for the moderates, I thought why not use the deposit money and go for at least a couple of nights. So, we are arriving at our home away from home, CSR, on September 19 and departing on September 22. We did not get the dining plan, but we have made some reservations and I will post reviews after we get back from Marco Island (we fly home on September 29).
This is what I have for our mini-trip to DW (I'm still going to try to get Crystal Palace at some point) and what I will review upon our return:
Breakfast at Kona
Lunch at Plaza
Lunch at Mama Melrose
Lunch at Chefs De France
Dinner at Fulton's

Okay...I THINK TODD snuck into my house last night and spoke to my DH because we've ALREADY changed ressies. We cancelled Mama Melrose and Fulton's (Mark figured we'd eat seafood in Marco Island). We added Biergarten and we got Crystal Palace for lunch (I had to have ONE character meal). We've never done CP for lunch so hope I'm not disappointed.
And you'll have to wait until September 29 or 30 to get reviews...I'll be in Marco Island having lunch one day with the Queen of Food Porn!

Glad you still get to go to WDW. You're going to be there the same times as us. Your trip actually encompasses both birthdays we are celebrating-my DD's is the 19th and my DM's is the 22nd.

I'm not taking the blame for this...DH made me do it! :rotfl:
Forgot to mention, we canceled Biergarten too and picked up 50's Prime Time for the day we arrive (still trying Sci Fi but no luck thus far).

I thought I would try once each day to snag LeCellier and this morning when I got to work and logged onto my computer...there it was--LeCellier -- 12:55 pm. on Sunday, September 20. :cool1:

I told DH we are DONE changing ressies, adding, cancelling, looking at menus, etc. Nic's going to think we are insane and I have to have lunch with her after the Disney trip. :rotfl2:
So, here is the FINAL plan for our mini-trip:
Arrival Saturday, September 19 -- 3:35 at Sci Fi (yep, snagged it five minutes ago)
Sunday, September 20 -- 12:55 at LeCellier (YES, can you say CHEDDAR CHEESE SOUP and PRETZEL BREAD)
Monday, September 21 -- 10:00 a.m. at Crystal Palace (yes, puffed french toast and Tigger too)
Monday, September 21 -- 6:40 p.m. -- Dinner at Plaza
Tuesday, September 22 -- Nothing. We've decided since we got LeCellier and it is an expensive meal and we are trying to keep costs down that we are just going to do counter service this day as we'll be driving to Marco late afternoon and don't want to be uncomfortable after a heavy meal.
So that is it...and no more changes. ;)

Okay...I lied...only a little. ;)
Because of a screw up with airline miles, we couldn't get our flight out of Chicago on Saturday a.m. Soooooooooooo we have to fly out Friday night...which gives us a full day at Disney on Saturday. So I made a breakfast ressie for Boma. But then an hour later I checked to see if there was any possibility that CP had an 8:05 a.m. ADR and believe it or not I got it. So I had to cancel Boma and, of course, had to change our entire schedule around as far as park days with the exception of one of our days at Epcot because I was NOT losing LeCellier. So we are still: CP, Plaza, Sci-Fi and LeCellier...just CP and Plaza are now different days. Still trying for a Yak & Yeti but no luck thus far.

You are soo funny! I am sooo addicted to the online ADRs..... I've changed, added, and cancelled more ADRs than I care to imagine! And now that I've learned Remy at Chefs de France is only scheduled there until Sat, Sept 5th (the day we arrive), I had to go ahead and book a 2:50 at Chefs De France a mere 3 HOURS after landing in Orlando! :scared1: I hope we can get our luggage and rental car, check in at POR, and head over to Epcot fast enough! I want to make sure we see Remy!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So glad you were able to make it back home! :thumbsup2

I think you'll be fine as long as your plane is not late. We usually arrive at Orlando around 11:00 or so and we are usually at the CSR by 12:15 or 12:30...we've been very lucky flying into Orlando (it's leaving that we're always delayed).
I have a stack stapled together of the cancelled ressies...I don't think I'll show my hubby...I know he'll decide I am definitely nuts!
I didn't know that about Remmy....I'm glad I cancelled that one...he was one of the reasons we were going.
Thanks...I'm glad to be going home too. And happy birthday to your hubby.

We are going for lunch...burger or reuben?
I love both - never had either at Sci-Fi....I hadn't heard the reuben was good until here...now I'm torn! :rotfl:
Kat, CONGRATS on the Y&Y! I'm happy to read you got everything! Just shows presistence does pay off!

I hear the reuben is to die for!!!!!!!!! Another DIS friend who just got back a couple of weeks ago and had the burger and said it was "hardly cooked" and she did not like it at all. Said the onion rings were awesome though.

Well, I cancelled Yak & Yeti. I wasn't pleased with the 1:30 time slot and could get nothing earlier and really didn't want to be at AK from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (we want to spend time at the pool during the afternoon). So we're doing counter service all that day. I did add two more ADR's. We are driving back to Orlando from Marco Island on Monday, the 28th, so we can go to Downtown Disney and the outlet malls (rather than use our "preciouis time" at the parks to go shopping). I made an ADR as a surprise for Mark at Fulton's for dinner (I won on a scratch ticket here at home and thought I'd treat him for working so hard at a second job all summer) and then I made a 8:50 breakfast at Boma for Tuesday before we head to the airport for the return home.
I'll try to do my review while we're in Marco Island.

Hi Kat,
I haven't been on the CSR board for awhile so I was quite surprised and excited to see you were able to get to DW this year after all! :cool1:
I was thinking I was going to have to get some paper and write down your ressie's so I could figure out what you were doing! ;) You might need to do another recap - I'm a little slow today!
Have a great trip - only 4 more days!

We won't be home from Marco Island until next Tuesday night (the 29th), but wanted to at least let you all know that the first four restaurants we ate at -- Crystal Palace (breakast), Sci-Fi (dinner), LeCellier (lunch) and Plaza (lunch) were all great--good food (sometimes great food) and very good service. Once we're home, I'll do a review with photos (and Fulton's and Boma will be added too).

We are staying at a LaQuinta about 10 minutes from Downtown Disney (Mark had points for a free night). We will go to to the outlet malls, then to Downtown Disney for dinner at Fulton's (and a drink with JanetB) and then shop. Tuesday a.m. we have breakfast at Boma's and are meeting Aubriee from the DIS and we are going to ask at the front desk if we can see an empty room for consideration for next year, then off to the airport for a 3:00 flight (we hope to land on time at O'Hare around 5:00 on Tuesday).

Can't wait to hear about your time with Nick!!!!!!!!
Nicki is an absolute sweetheart. We spent an hour and a half with her yesterday afternoon (we didn't get to meet earlier because her Uncle died and she had to fly to Boston for the funeral). We greeted each other with a hug and we talked and laughed nonstop for 90 minutes. You would never have known that we just met when we both pulled in to the parking lot...you would have thought we'd known each other for years. My poor husband could hardly get a word in edge wise. We promised that next year we would try to work our schedules to go for the F&W Festival and even if not when her and Todd go, she'll drive down for the weekend.
Like I said--a TOTAL sweetheart. I'll post a picture of the three of us when we get home.

Like pp said, try for walk up or sit at bar. We tried changing our time numerous time and when we got there, the place was empty--literally. There were people upstairs but the whole downstairs was empty...so not sure whey we couldn't change our ressie.
I miss you too. Mark and I talked about our visit during the ride back to Orlando. The rain had stopped by the time we left and we had a pleasant drive to Orlando. Home now and will start my reports tomorrow (too tired tonight). But here are the pictures from our visit:

Nic, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed about the end of the month.
Kathy, can't wait to hear about your dining adventures!!!
23 more days til our stay at CSR !!! (I really hope the conventioneers don't take up all of the rooms in Casitas 4 or 5)
Yup still the same...like mom says us Italians are just ageless! Wish I could see you and Cait this year but I will have to be happy viisting your reviews instead!

Gee....some people are awfully pushy! :rotfl::rotfl2:
Okay, here we go.
We arrived at the CSR at just a couple of minutes before midnight on Friday, the 18th. First ressie up was Saturday morning at the Crystal Palace for an 8:05 a.m. ADR with Pooh and friends.
My favorite sign: http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2232.jpg
We were so early that we parked really close and could walk to the TTC:
Our first monorail ride: http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2234.jpg
Picture of the castle when we were walking down Main Street: http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2239.jpg

My first plate (notice ALL of the puffed french toast--my favorite: http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2241.jpg
Mark's first plate: http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2242.jpg
Mark with Eeyore (notice what Eeyore is doing because Mark is wearing his Eeyore ears): http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2245.jpg
Me with Eeyore (I'm wearing my Tigger ears...at first Eeyore made a motion of "go away" to me because I had on my Tigger ears): http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2246.jpg
I didn't take pictures of the second plates (and third for Mark) as we were so hungry because we didn't have dinner the night before.
As always, CP did not let us down. The food was excellent--love that puffed french toast.
Up next will be our meal at Sci Fi later in the day on Saturday.

Enjoy your trip, hope you enjoy Boma breakfast(we loved it), can't wait to read your reviews!!!
We LOVED Boma...that will be the last review as it was the last place we ate. Stay tuned.
Yay! Glad you had a great time...can't wait for full reviews!
Thank you. I've started...Sci Fi will be coming soon.
I can't wait until you get home and do a full review...but do not want your trip to end for your sake.
It sounds like an absolutely wonderful trip in every possible way!
Safe travels!! (where are you spending Monday might?)
Thanks, Christine. We had an uneventful flight home (first time in two years)--and actually landed 20 minutes early.
Looking forward to reading all your reviews!!!!
Thanks...I've started and will try to finish them all tonight.
Love, love, love the pics!!!!!!!:yay:
Thanks. We were laughing so much that we couldn't stop when the pics were being taken! :rotfl2:

Thank you...as you see, I've finally started (someone named NIC was being pushy! :lmao: I hope you get Casitas 4 or 5 too. I haven't started my CSR review or my trip report yet, but we stayed in Cabanas 9A this time (the first time in eight stays); although it was very nice, we REALLY prefer the Casitas.
:goodvibes Great review! Sorry I am late joining in, but real life sometimes just doesn't leave enough time for my DlS addiction.

Thanks! Nicki was a delight. I wish we had more time to spend together, but we hope to hook up with her at Disney or back in Marco next year.
You MUST do CP...the breakfast is awesome and if you can get the 8:05 adr before the park opens it is just so neat and special to walk down Main Street when no one else is there.

Sci Fi, Saturday, September 19 -- 5:40 p.m. ADR.
We checked in, were given a beeper, and seated within three minutes (I was surprised--every restaurant we were seated within five minutes except for LeCellier--we had about a 25 minute wait there).
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2325.jpg
I did not take pictures of menu--I decided since Nicki does that and we eat at a lot of the same places that I'd leave that chore to her.
At Nicki's suggestion, we tried the onion rings. Oh my goodness...can you say LOVE AT FIRST BITE. These onion rings were just perfect! I wish we had ordered two orders:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2320.jpg
Nicki had recommended the reuben for Mark because I mentioned how much he liked the one at The Plaza. Hence, Mark ordered the reuben:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2321.jpg
Sorry...you'll note that there is a BITE out of the reuben. The silly boy forgot that he could NOT eat until I took a picture. I don't know where his head is sometimes. :rotfl2:
Since we were there for dinner, nothing on the menu really grabbed me. I didn't want shrimp as I knew I'd be eating a lot of fish in Marco Island and I was a little leery of the ribs. I asked our waiter how come know cheeseburger on the dinner menu and he said if it's a cheeseburger you want, then it is a cheeseburger you will have. I ordered it medium well and it came out perfect...just a tinge of pink.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2322.jpg
We did not order dessert...both of us were full after the onion rings and the huge sandwiches (plus, I wanted my first box of Disney popcorn).
The food was great. I give the onion rings an A+, Mark gave the reuben an A+ but still prefers the one at The Plaza just a a tad better and my cheeseburger I would give a B+ too.
Here's a picture that our great waiter took of us before we left (I forgot his name...but he was a lot of fun and he was terrific):
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2324.jpg
Up next: Lunch at LeCellier. Will we still love it or has it gone downhill as others have said?

It is a cute place -- I agree!
Okay...one more review and then I have to go cook Mark dinner...can you believe it, the man expects me to cook on my last day of vacation. I really wonder if I should trade him in? :rotfl2:
Lunch at LeCellier on Sunday, September 21 -- 12:55 p.m. ADR.
We arrived at around 12:45 and checked in.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2388.jpg
It was a little crowded...no seats available inside (and too hot to sit outside). We had about a 20-25 minute wait for our table. When we were led to our table, there were about five or six tables with no one at them. Now, I don't know if they've cut back on staff for serving and this is why, or if they've cut back on staff for cleaning the tables and it takes them so long to clean them, etc.
In any event, we were seated and I ordered a Diet Coke and Mark ordered a Iced Tea. I am really bad at remembering names, but we had a wonderful waitress and she was training someone new--she was earning her ears. Both were delightful young women from Canada.
We started off with the ever popular and delicious Cheddar Cheese Soup. This is the first year I actually tasted the beer in the soup, but it was still delicious and great with the pretzel bread and the sourdough bread (my personal favorite).
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2381.jpg
Mark was having a really hard time deciding what to have. He couldn't decide between the New York Strip, the Prime Rib sandwich or the Mushroom Filet. Well, the mushroom filet won out; I had the same thing, but I did not get the mushrooms--I substituted for the cream cheese mashed potatos; Mark kept the mushrooms and got the potatos too (and no extra charge!).
With the mushrooms:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2382.jpg
Without the mushrooms:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2383.jpg
Both filets were cooked exactly as ordered and as tender as could be (you could cut without a knife).
I had my all-time favorite Disney dessert--the Chocolate on Chocolate Whiskey Cake (okay, can you just box one or two cakes and ship them to me, please! :rotfl:). Mark had the apple tart which he declared his new favorite dessert at LeCellier:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2384.jpg
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2385.jpg
This is about the fourth or fifth time we have eaten at LeCellier and we have always had a great meal and awesome service. Nothing changed on this trip. I'm not sure why some people find it overrated--I'm guessing they have hit it on a bad day or something. But LeCellier will remain on our to do list every trip until it fails us.

The green garnish is actually a VERY hard Mickey candy--they put that on the cake for our anniversary as our "celebration."

Okay, Mark says it was an apple tart which was in flaky pie crust type thing, with a cinnamon flavor, with ice cream and little apple shavings around it. Like I said, a new favorite!

Dinner on Sunday, September 20 -- Cosmic Rays at the MK
We went here last year for the first time in many, many years and fell in love with it. We'd also done Pecos Bills last year and weren't that impressed with it, so we decided to go back to Cosmic Rays this year.
I had what I had last year -- the barbecued pork with the eclipse potato chips. I LOVE these chips and the sandwich was very good...although too much of the pork--it was falling out of the bun no matter what I did with it--cut it, held it with two hands in different ways :rotfl:. But so, so good.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2405.jpg
Mark had the turkey wrap last year and loved it. But he thought he'd try something new this year. He had the cheese steak with apple slices. He was sorry that he didn't get the turkey wrap. He said the cheese steak was okay, but the cheese was kind of gross and he scraped most of it off and went to the "topping" bar and got his own toppings to put on the sandwich.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2404.jpg
I enjoyed my meal as much as last year; Mark not so much. Next year, I think we'll go back to Columbia Harbor House as we've not been there for a few years.
Next up (after I get over to the resort boad and do my CSR review before they all chew my head off over there...demanding group around here on the DIS ala Nicki :rotfl::lmao::rotfl:) will be our breakfast at Waffle House and dinner at Liberty Tree Inn on Monday and then The Plaza on Tuesday before heading off to Marco Island. And then once back from Marco Island, we have Fulton's at Boma.

Monday, September 21 -- we had no ADR's. We went to Waffle House for breakfast (one of our favorites) before we went to the Dig Site pool for a few hours. Sorry I didn't take pictures at WH. I had the cheese omelet with hash browns scattered, smothered and covered (this is with onions and cheese); Mark had the cheesy eggs, grits and bacon. It was very good as always.
We headed off to Epcot. We skipped lunch as Mark wanted to try the School Bread that everyone raves about. So we got one of those and I got a cappucino. Mark enjoyed the School Bread--I wouldn't say he loved it, but he really liked it. I didn't care for it at all...but then I hate coconut (almost as much as I hate mushrooms).
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2464.jpg
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2465.jpg
We continued our journey around World Showcase and went to see The American Adventure (this is a must do every trip for us). We were hungry after this and decided to just eat at the Liberty Inn. I know this place gets a lot of bad reviews, but we have never had a bad meal here. I actually think the cheeseburgers are better here than at Pecos Bills.
The place was literally empty. No one eating inside or outside (although it was super hot/humid outside); after we ordered a few more people walked in. Mark had the bacon cheeseburger and I had the chicken strips. Both were very good.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2479.jpg
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2480.jpg
After eating here, we continued on our journey through the countries. We decided to stop in France and look in the bakery and see what they were offering today. Mark wanted to try the chocolate eclair so we got one of those and another cappucino for me. Mark REALLY liked this; I didn't care for it, but I'm not a big fan of eclairs--especially the filling inside.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2496.jpg
Since I didn't care for the eclair, I decided to get popcorn while we watched Illuminations.
Tuesday, September 22 -- last day for us to spend at the parks before we head to Marco Island. Lunch at the Plaza at 2:15 on this day.
We had breakfast in the room while I finished packing. We loaded up the car and headed over to the MK to be there for the opening show by the railroad station. We did a bunch of rides, Mark had a Mickey Bar prior to heading over to Big Thunder and Splash Mountain (and I'm such a MEAN mom that I took a picture of it with my phone and sent it to our youngest son--knowing he was in class--just to tick him off; Mickey bars have ALWAYS been his favorite and he's not been there in nine years (he's 21 now).
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2563.jpg
We then did some photopass pictures. We were done with everything we wanted to do and still had about 90 minutes prior to our ADR at The Plaza so we took the monorail over to the Polynesian (our favorite deluxe) and walked around and I found a gift for a dear friend of mine there. We took the monorail back and arrived at the Plaza around 2:00.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2609.jpg
We were no sooner given our beeper and were brought in to be seated. We had a wonderful waitress who was very efficient and friendly. It was really hot again and Mark and I each got a diet coke; we'd finished those off in record time and our waitress brought refills when she came to get our order for lunch. Since Mark had the reuben at the Sci-Fi he didn't want another so he was having a hard time deciding what he wanted. We ended up both ordering the Plaza Club. I made Mark get his with the chips and I got mine with the fries. I really like the fries here--I think they are the best in all of Disney, but I also love the chips so we shared.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2612.jpg
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2613.jpg
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2614.jpg
After eating these huge sandwiches you would not think we would have room for dessert. But you CANNOT go to the Plaza and NOT have dessert. So Mark just wanted Chocolate Ice Cream and this is what they brought him:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2616.jpg
I ordered a Hot Fudge Sundae, minus the whip cream and cherry, and they gave me extra Hot Fudge:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2617.jpg
Oh....I do LOVE me a good Hot Fudge Sundae!
We were talking to one of the hosts and he asked us if we'd been to The Plaza before and told him that it has become a tradition that this is the last meal we have before heading to the airport or the beach or wherever we are going after leaving Disney. He was thrilled to hear it and wished us a Happy Anniversary and asked if we'd like him to take our picture, and we said, of course:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2615.jpg
Just as we finished up paying the bill, we heard that the parade was starting. We were going to leave and head for Marco Island but decided to stay for the new parade. So before it started coming by The Plaza, I ran and got my popcorn in a bucket to take on the trip to Marco and ran back to meet Mark to watch the parade. As the parade ended, I decided to make it a yearly tradition to get a balloon as we leave and give it to a child in memory of my dad. We found a wonderful couple with their five year old daughter. I excused myself and explained what it was that I was doing (I did much better this year--although I had tears in my eyes, I wasn't hysterical and was actually coherent and you could actually understand what I was saying). The wonderful couple asked about my dad and what his name was and said they'd say a special prayer for him and had their daughter give me a hug. It was a nice way to end our trip to Disney.
Up next, we return to Orlando from Marco Island on Monday, September 28 and plan on shopping at Downtown Disney. We have dinner ressies at Fulton's and breakfast at Boma on Tuesday before heading to Orlando International Airport.

Monday, September 28 -- 4:50 p.m. ADR at Fulton's
We arrived back in Orlando around noon and checked in at the LaQuinta, unpacked what we need for the evening and next morning and headed to Downtown Disney to shop. We went and got "Design Your Own Tees", did some other shopping and arrived at Fulton's at 4:45 for our ADR.

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2896.jpg
Mark had an iced tea and I had a diet coke (we were meeting a DISer later for a drink).
I started with the New England Clam Chowder Soup. This is one of the best Clam Chowder soups I have ever had:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2897.jpg
The waiter, John, brought our bread and crackers and dip, and Mark decided to have a garden salad. He had the balsamic dressing and really, really liked the dressing.

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2901.jpg
If the salad looks "small", it is because Mark had to spread it around his plate as the silly boy once again started eating before I took a picture. :confused3
I normally would have had the King Crab Claws but for some reason I just wasn't that hungry and because they are pricey (but so worth it), I didn't want to order them and waste any food. Therefore, I ordered the snow crab legs. I couldn't decide on the baked potato (of which I'd had about five of them while in Marco Island) or the Yukon Mashed Potatos. John said to go with the Yukon Mashed and I took his advice. Well, I'm sorry I did -- the most disgusting potatos I've ever had in my life (Mark tried them and declared them not fit for our dog...or any dog :rotfl:). The snow crab legs on the other hand were very, very good.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2903.jpg
Mark ended up trying to decide between the Snapper, Grouper or Mahi Mahi. He ended up having the Mahi Mahi. He said it wasn't that good when he started, but then it got better as he went along. He's guessing that one end just wasn't cooked as well as the other? :confused3 Don't ask me...I've only been married to him 26 years and don't understand what he's talking about half the time.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2902.jpg
We really didn't want dessert, but John knew it was our anniversary and he brought us a complimentary piece of Chocolate Cake. It's the same cake they gave us last year for our 25th anniversary and I didn't like it last year, and didn't like it this year either (it was filled with raspberry sauce and the cake was very dry).
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2904-1.jpg
Overall, the meal at Fulton's was excellent once again. We will continue to go here every trip if we can afford it.
John took a picture of us when he served our cake:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2906.jpg
We had time before we were meeting JanetB, a fellow DISer for a drink at Fulton's bar so we walked over to the West End and saw the big hot air balloon, went to the candy store, the cigar shop for DH to get a couple of cigars to bring home. We headed back to Fulton's and hooked up with Janet. I didn't take pictures of our drinks, but Mark had a very light beer and I had a Scotch & Water with a lemon twist (pricey...but good).
This is Janet and I at Fulton's:

I agree, the fries at the Plaza are the BEST! Thanks for a wonderful review of Fulton's, we just love it and can't wait to go back! Isn't it so much fun to meet new DISers? I'll be meeting at least 30 in a few weeks!!!

Okay, last ADR of the trip -- Tuesday, September 29 -- 8:50 a.m. ADR at Boma's
We had a ressie at Boma's two years ago for dinner and cancelled it. I can't remember if it was because we were tired or because the food items just didn't appeal to me. I'm not much for spices, etc., and after reading MickeyNicki's review of their meal there, I'm glad we cancelled. But Nic said breakfast was great and I've never read a bad review of Boma for breakfast so I was glad when I was able to get this ADR.
We arrived at 8:30 as we were meeting another DISer--Aubriee--and we wanted to have a chance to visit prior to breakfast. We then decided that since our time was 8:50 and hers was 9:05 that maybe they would let us dine together. We checked in after Aubriee found us and they were very accomodating. We were seated as soon as we were given our beeper.
We started out with the West African Frunch Juice. Let me just say that i could have drank a gallon of this stuff--it was that good. And I'm not particularly fond of juice. I don't drink it at home and I only drink OJ at the Crystal Palace.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2923.jpg
Here is a picture of Mark's first two plates (yes, he got them both at the same time):
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2924-1.jpg
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2925.jpg
A picture of my first plate:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2926.jpg
I loved the french toast; I didn't care for the oatmeal at all.
Our second plates:
Mine -- http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2927.jpg
Mark's -- http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2928.jpg
I'm not a big fan of cinnamon, but this cinnamon roll was really, really god. When Mark got his second plate, they had just come out with raisin french toast. He really liked this.
Overall, we really enjoyed our breakfast at Boma and will go back next visit. It still takes second place to Crystal Palace (sorry...but nothing can replace the puffed french toast in my eyes or my stomach), but it was very good. Liked the french toast, the bacon was cooked perfectly and Mark really liked the almond bear claw pastries. I'm really glad we went.
Here's a picture of fellow DISer, Aubriee, and me.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2930.jpg
Well, that is it for this year's reviews. We enjoyed all of our meals this year. If I had to rank them, I would put them in this order: LeCellier, Fulton's, Crystal Palace, Plaza, Sci Fi and Boma. Truthfully, they were all wonderful and the order is only because of the preference of the type of food we ate. Service was great everywhere we went and we saw no decline in the quality or quantity of the food.
It was an enjoyable trip--although too short--and we were so glad that we got to meet several DISer's on the trip. We had a good time with all of them.
Thanks for reading.

Ok you dont like mushrooms or coconut...how are we friends??
After eating here, we continued on our journey through the countries. We decided to stop in France and look in the bakery and see what they were offering today. Mark wanted to try the chocolate eclair so we got one of those and another cappucino for me. Mark REALLY liked this; I didn't care for it, but I'm not a big fan of eclairs--especially the filling inside.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2496.jpg
Since I didn't care for the eclair, I decided to get popcorn while we watched Illuminations.
DH is now excited about tomorrow for his eclair and popcorn fix....

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2897.jpg

I normally would have had the King Crab Claws but for some reason I just wasn't that hungry and because they are pricey (but so worth it), I didn't want to order them and waste any food. The food was really good--I really saw no let down--maybe we got lucky, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
I'm so glad that you and Tracy are going in December. You'll have a blast!

Thank you so much for your reviews - I just LOVED them.
Fulton's looks good - maybe we should try that next summer - it never tempted us much, but I have read so many positive reviews lately that I am really considering it.
We had breakfast at Boma too and the Frunch is just devine!

You really ought to try Fulton's. Beware though that it is not on the dining plan and is a bit pricey (but cheaper at lunch), but sooooooooo worth it. We've never had a bad meal here.

I almost want to make a ressie for The Plaza - but DH really wants Sci-Fi and to me they seem similar. Would it be worth it to go to both within one trip?
Also, it was great to see that you enjoyed Boma breakfast! We'll be staying at AKL in January and as of right now it looks as if Boma will have our breakfast bellies at least twice that trip!! I've only been there for dinner, and I couldn't do that more than once each trip - looking forward to the breakfast!

If you plan on going again soon, then just do one. If not, try to squeeze in both. Plaza's menu, with the exception of the reuben and the cheeseburger, is somewhat different and their desserts are to die for!

Kathy, Great report, thanks for the great pictures and all the time you put into the report. I've never tried Fultons (being a New Englander with the best seafood around I've been doubtful) but your review has made me put Fultons on the list for next time. I must say, the ballon in memory of your father pushed me over the edge, I'm still crying. What a beautful way to remember your Dad. My Dad died 2 years ago and still whenever I see Spectromagic (his fav.) I'm reduced to tears. Thanks again.

I really like the fries here--I think they are the best in all of Disney, but I also love the chips so we shared.

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2614.jpg

Kat, what a wonderful tradition. You brought tears to my eyes. It is amazing how many little "traditions" we all have at Disney. So glad you were able to go "home".

Kathy, how wonderful...another teary moment. The first time I read through I missed this part of the story b/c I was so taken with the picture of you & Mark at the Plaza. Goodness, does that mean I skimmed?? ;)
I know you will not be surprised to learn (that) I do the same in honor of Toby ~ he so loved the MK as a child and giving a balloon to a child seemed so right. I have done each visit since he passed, but have told no one until now....I know you understand.
I am always shy when it comes to finding a family and never sure how much to say. So I usually say something to the effect that my little boy loved WDW and like to share my memories with another child with a balloon.
Beautiful, Kathy.

Unfortunately he can't come with us in January, he has a business obligation - but the Happiest Place on Earth has kept him in good spirits, just the prospect of going back there has put a smile on his face, and the memories of going when I was a child are what we shared while he was in the hospital.
Walt sure has made us a magical place...

Kathy, thanks for a Yummy food report! That is so sweet that you give a child a baloon in memory of your Dad. What a great tradition.:littleangel:
I'm glad you got to meet so many Disers! thank you so much for sharing all the great pictures.

I've never been to the New England area, but I've heard you have wonderful seafood. We have never had a bad meal at Fulton's...and I think you should give it a try. And thanks for the word about my balloon memory and I know what you mean about Spectromagic...it reduces you to tears.
Kat, what a wonderful tradition. You brought tears to my eyes. It is amazing how many little "traditions" we all have at Disney. So glad you were able to go "home".
Thank you so much.
Thanks, Christine (and no, I don't think you skimmed...Pickles don't skim :rotfl: ) and I'm not surprised at all that you do the same for Toby.
 I missed that part of the story as well - I was caught up in the photos, the food and the fun... what a beautiful way to honor your father's memory.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, but glad to know that he is recovering. Please keep me posted and I'll keep him in my prayers. Walt should be proud of that magical place he made for us.

Thanks. We love Cosmic Rays and CHH too (with the exception of Mark's most recent meal at Cosmic Rays).
I'm glad you both enjoyed the food reviews.

Kathy, loved your trip report and loved your dining report. Yum all the way!
The Plaza is definately on the list for us for another time. Future...way future. Must say on track. No planning for me (I need to keep convincing myself of this!)
I agree with everyone else that the tradition to give a child a balloon in your father's memory is so touching and healing to spread some pixie dust!
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. I enjoy doing the dining reviews and those were done first as they are easier than the trip report (which I just finished the other day). :)

I made Mark get his with the chips and I got mine with the fries. I really like the fries here--I think they are the best in all of Disney, but I also love the chips so we shared.

Those fries look AWESOME! They used to have big thick ones like that at CHH, but now have the skinny, skins-on ones. I am thrilled to see the thick ones at the Plaza! I wonder if they would make a "to go" order for me, so I could have that with my Corn Dog Nuggets from Casey's...:cloud9:
Your balloon story made me cry!! What a WONDERFUL thing to do in honor of your Dad!
Don't ask me...I've only been married to him 26 years and don't understand what he's talking about half the time.
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Love it!!!
Wonderful reviews! Glad you had so many successful meals! Thanks for sharing it all.

I ordered a Hot Fudge Sundae, minus the whip cream and cherry, and they gave me extra Hot Fudge:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb136/Luvwrestling/IMG_2617.jpg
Oh....I do LOVE me a good Hot Fudge Sundae!
YAY! :woohoo: I found someone else who doesn't order whip cream on their hot fudge sundaes. I find the whip cream takes away from the taste of hot fudge & ice cream. My DF always makes fun of me for this, but I am very particular about my sundaes. :lmao:
I really need to make an ADR for the Plaza the next time I go to Disney.

Thanks, Jaclyn. I'm not a fan of whip cream to begin with. And there is no way it is touching my hot fudge (of which they gave me extra on that particular hot fudge sundae). :rotfl2:
I'm so enjoying your reviews as well as your engagement trip report. :)

Chuck, so glad you enjoyed your stay at the CSR. :) It always makes me happy when someone else enjoys it like we do. We are playing with certain dates, but we are doing AKL for three nights, then Marco Island and then the CSR. However, that all depends on what happens with our youngest son's car (you can see that info on the "What Would you Do" thread under the Resorts forum.

I wonder if either of those servers that you had at Le Cellier was my sister. Not sure if you remember appearances or names but her name starts with an "A", she's about 5'6' with shoulder length brown hair, loud laugh (that is if you got her to laugh lol). I keep trying to read reviews on Le Cellier to see if anyone had my sister as a server! So far no luck.
Also, Le Cellier is VERY short on servers. Apparently no CM's that work at Le Cellier want to be trained as servers as it is very long hours. Hopefully this will change soon!
There's something about Disney's popcorn that just makes it irresistible. It's like a salty sweet snack. I can see why you like it so much.
I have yet to try Boma. I was going to try it when we go in April but I don't think my mother would enjoy it very much. She's not a big fan of the "exotic" food (as she would call it). Heck, she won't even eat sushi or try Teppan Edo! It's sad that she'll never know what she's missing :sad2:
Loved the report. Thanks for the wonderful reviews!

Jen, so very glad you enjoyed our report. What is your sister's name? I might have it written down at home who are server was (I sometimes jot it down in my notes for my reports). Your description sounds awfully familiar....
