What type of procedures for reboarding ship at ports? Anyone checking tickets/keys?

You must have your kttw card (which Disney gives you when you check in) and your photo ID/passport. If you are going on an Eastern cruise, you need your original birth certificates/passport before you can exit onto St. Thomas. Not sure about Western cruise. Every time you exit and re-enter, they scan your kttw card. Every time you re-enter they also check your I.D. (if you're over 18). Pretty quick & easy. They also have an x-ray machine for when you re-enter and they scan all your bags.

So you have to carry your passport every time you get off the ship? Kind of a drag when you're going to the beach! :(

Can you just use your driver's license....or in the case of my one son, his military ID?

The kids under 18 only need KTTW as I understand...no picture ID..is that correct?

Clarifying some of the points made in the earlier posts...

If you are a U.S. or Canadian citizen, you must present your passport or a certified birth certificate along with photo I.D. when you check in for your cruise (this applies to all itineraries that Disney sails).

At all ports of call, you will need to swipe your KTTW card and show photo I.D. (such as a drivers' license) when exiting and reboarding the ship. Children under 18 do not need a photo I.D., but they must be accompanied by their parents/guardians when exiting/reboarding the ship.

On the morning of St Thomas, every passenger is required to go to the Disney theater with their birth certificates/passports and photo ID prior to debarkation. They will not let people off the ship until every single passenger passes by a US customs officer.

This is relatively new and went quickly. Reason given is that we went to a foreign port (St Maarten) in between Florida and St Thomas.

You do not need to take your birth certificate off the ship. Photo ID and KTTW cards are required.
