Not in the regular dining plan, but they are included in the deluxe dining plan.

Nope, no appetizers, only dessert. They used to be back in 2006 - but were cut in 2007. Can't substitute one for the other either.

Quick question, what if one chooses an appetizer as his/her main meal?
My wife does this frequently, as appetizers tend to be simpler and her stomach can't handle a lot of stuff.

That's a good question. I am wondering that myself. We have never done the dining plan, but there are many times when I order appetizers for my meals when we eat out. I'm hoping someone will know.

Answer will be different place to place. My wife did this at a couple places but couldn't in others. You'll just have to ask when there.

Some places may let you, but appetizers are much cheaper than the entree. If you order appetizers instead of entrees, you may be losing the financial benefit of having the dining plan in the first place.
That's why I don't do the dining plan. Sometimes I want an appetizer & no entree, sometimes I don't want dessert, sometimes I want an appetizer instead of dessert, etc. The dining plans don't allow enough flexibility, and the savings aren't there if I don't eat exactly the way the plan is set up. The "ease" of prepayment isn't worth it to me if I end up spending equal or more than I would otherwise, and can't eat what makes me happy!

I've moved this thread to the Dining Plan board. :)
