My first year with a chance at the Food and Wine.

I can add DDP(any version) if I want. I am curious how it works (or if it does) with the FaW?

any savings or is it just better to pay cash as we go?
our trip is such I can add it for just a couple days as we are doing split stays/DVC

also looking at Allears, I see some of the menus listed at marketplace and promenade(for FaW)
http://allears.net/tp/ep/fw09/fw09_booths.htm

are those little snacks? like when it says ribs and mashed potatoes? or is that a meal? and when it says drink selections I assume those are an extra cost..I dont drink alcohol and it would be a waste to me to have to pay for a meal that included that

You can see the F&W booths signs here:

You'll see that most food items in the booths can be purchased with a snack credit. They are smaller tasting size portions. You can find pics on AllEars of actual plates.

We are considering getting the DDP this trip. I'm wondering if you can use CS credits for snacks?

No, you can't use CS credits for snacks. Although a few posters have reported that their resort concierge would exchange their CS credits for snack credits, this is not standard procedure, and I don't ever remember hearing how many snack credits they got for one CS credit.

Thanks! I've seen a few people that have said they were allowed to use a CS credit for a snack credit, depending on the CM. Someone else told me they were able to get 2 snacks with 1 CS credit. I wouldn't expect to get 2, I'd be happy with one. I'm thinking that getting CMs at the F&W booths to accept a CS credit would be impossible. Now if I could get the concierge to exchange them, that would be good.

The past two years, one snack credit could be used to pay for any food or non-alcoholic beverage item from the World Showcase festival kiosks, regardless of the cost of the item. The only items excluded were alcoholic beverages.

Now if I could get the concierge to exchange them, that would be good.

I do hope I made it clear that you may or may not be permitted to do this. I've seen a few - very few - reports of persons who posted that they were able to get the resort concierge to exchange CS for snacks. However, I don't recall any report of how many snacks they got, or at which resorts it was permitted.

I'd imagine that when WDW set up the system for the dining plan it was not anticipated that anyone would want to trade a counter service meal worth up to $15 - $20 for a $4 snack, so they didn't set anything up to accommodate that switch. If they get wind that it's something dining plan customers want to do, they may start allowing it as a policy - couldn't be anything but good for Disney's bottom line.

Thanks again, I was totally clear on that! I doubt that my wanting to "trade down" is the norm.

I exchanged 1 CS for 2 snacks last October at the POR concierge desk. It was not a big deal at all, I asked, they did some computer magic and changed it for me. I don't like most "fast food" so I was way happier with the F&W items!

I am planing to do it again....counting on it actually :cool1:
