How many of you on the DDP choose to use TS vouchers for lunch versus dinner?
I'm trying to help my mother plan ADR's for September FD (I know... I know... I've been on her to book, but what do I know???). She said she read/heard somewhere that it would be easier to use the TS ressie for lunch.
Any thoughts? :confused3

Actually in January we chose the CS plan instead of regular-just to try it & I really liked it BETTER!!! We didn't feel that we had to be at a certain park at a certain time for reservations-we went with the flow. Also when you book at a fancier restaurant (one that is more expensive than you would normally just go to) you have to leave a tip we leave 20%-but by doing the CS -no tips! During free dining I don't think they will allow you to swap your TS for CS. Some places will let you but I wouldn't just assume all will! This trip we have all our TS scheduled for lunch time. Going with the flow for dinner/breakfast.

You get more bang for your DP buck by using your credits at dinner, therefore most folks use them for dinner, thereby making it easier to get ADRs for lunch.
We are not on the dining plan, so during free dining we chose to eat mostly lunches, the restaurants are not as crazy and it is easier to get ADRs.
In fact last night I was able to a Le Cellier lunch during our trip!

How is more bang for your buck? Is there a wider selection at dinner?
We've never used DDP before. My parents haven't been since before AK was opened, so TONS have changed since then.
Dinner Entree's are typically more expensive than the lunch offerings, so most people will use the TS credits for supper, thereby getting more value for their money (even though it is pretty much the same food, just a higher price).
We've split ours up a bit. We have 4 TS breakfasts before park openings, 2 TS lunches, and the balance of our TS are suppers. I'm not really that worried about getting the most value out of it (we got dining for free anyway), I'm more concerned with eating the meals we want at times / places that work for us. What I don't want to do is waste half of our time running back and forth across the park in order to get to our meals, so I carefully planned our ADR's, and touring plans to work together well.

We use most of our TS for dinner. The menu items are usually extended and more expensive.

We're not worried so much about getting the most bang for our buck monetarily, so we eat mostly lunches. ADR's are easier to come by, food is still just as good and it's a nice break in the middle of the day. After a good TS meal we're ready to get back to touring. So that's our plan. :)

I've moved this thread to the Dining Plan board. :)

When is she going? Is it soon? Sorry, now I see it is in Sept. At this point it doesn't matter what most people do. She needs to make ADRs NOW, for whatever she can get. Besides, she isn't paying for the dining plan so she doesn't have to get the maximum bang for the buck.
