Just what it says on the tin...What film for you is underrated.
My pick is Hercules. Beautiful animation (absolutely stunning in fact), amazing music, fast pace and really funny characters. I watched it today for the first time in ages and I really can't understand why it wasn't a monster hit like beauty and the beast or the lion king.

I have two actually, "The Emperors New Groove", i love that movie, the characters really make me laugh, totally underrated.
The other is "Dinosaur". I can see that it may not be as gripping for small children but I thought the CGI animation was great and I really could get behind the characters.
But between the two I guess Kuzko wins out;)

Oooh there are so many. I agree Hercules has some terrific songs. :cool1:
I love the animation in Rescuers Down Under and Brother Bear.
Song of the South is a great film (but then Brer Rabbit is my favourite Disney character of all time so I'm biased :lovestruc)

I love The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under!
But, one that very rarely gets mentioned, and I've always loved since being a little girl is Basil the Great Mouse Detective :lovestruc

The Fox and the Hound never fails to make me cry. We have been watching a lot of Disney films lately, with the weather being so bad. Yesterday was Beauty and the Beast, my all time favourite film. DD can't understand, though, why I am unable to watch the film without singing along. Anyone else sing along to all the songs?

From what I've read it's not likely to be out in the near future :sad1: I got an unofficial dvd off ebay (probably not legal but it's better than nothing!).

That is my DD favourite along with Bambi, 101 Dalmatians, Lady & The Tramp, she is not really into princesses and prefers animal films.

The Rescuers. My grandparents had the video tape and me and my sister watched it so much it broke!

I actually used to LOVE Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins when I was little, I'm surprised I didn't break the videos I watched them so much! But yeah, I also think Hunchback of Notre Dame is under-rated which is a shame because I love the songs and the story. Aladdin is actually my favourite Disney film though!
Anyone a fan of the following Disney films?;
Song of the South
Pete's Dragon
Escape to Witch Mountain (I used to love this one!)
The original Parent Trap and Freaky Friday
Bed Knobs and Broomsticks
The Fox and the Hound
All the Winnie the Pooh films (blustery day, and tigger too etc)
I also used to LOVE the Disney Sing a long videos from the early 90's!
But I have to say the absolutely most underrated Disney Film.............
The Nightmare Before Christmas!

Its The Black Cauldron in our house, absolutely love it, when Gurgi says "Whaha!!!! Ooooooooo! Great Prince give poor starving Gurgi munchings and crunchings! Nice apple! Good Prince, good apple! Oh boy! What a juicy apple!" - pure class

Totally agree. The first hour is some of the finest animation ever. But I find that this is film that divides opinion - you either love it or hate it.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame - one of my favourites.
We watched this again the other day in our build to our holiday and loved every moment of it. Sure the animation on the Gargoyles is a little ropy at times but other than that, it is a superbly crafted film.
Certainly one of, if not THE darkest Disney animated film. Dealing with lust, religion, murder and revenge - the film plays well for children only hinting at these topics but under the service lies some very dark material for the adults to chew over.
One of my favourite films and certainly Disney's most underated classic in my opinion.

My dd 7 is not allowed to watch it yet because of the burning bits.

I always wanted Song of the South, it was on the ads for all the Disney films I had as a kid same with all those singalong ones :) I remember my sister got the Hunchback of Notre Dame one, I was quite put out at the time as I was never allowed any! :lmao:
Love all the others you mentioned, also a few others I remembered:
Sword in the Stone
Return to Oz
Pollyanna
Babes in Toyland
Oliver and Company (great soundtrack especially)
IMO NBC has more of a 'cult' following like most things Tim Burton does. It was merchandised to death a few years back, they still had a fair selection in WDW when I last went.

Two of my favourites are One of Our Dinousaurs is Missing and Candelshoe.
Ooo I also looove Aristorcats
So do i it's a fantasic film
I think some of the live action films get overlooked sometimes.
I can always find time to sit and watch films like Herbie, The Black Hole, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Treasure Island, and Cool Runnings to name but a few

Yep, I am a HUGE Tim Burton Fan!!! What I would give to be in one of his movies :cloud9: !
I can remember renting Babes in Toyland (I think I had tonsilitis at the time lol) and going to see Oliver and Company at the Odeon but I was so little (about 5 or maybe younger) I can't actually remember the films. I can DEFINITELY remember Return to Oz though. We rented it when I had just started reception class at school and it frightened the living daylights out of me! I was traumatized by the wheelies and that witch with the hall with all the heads in it. The next day I kept crying at school and I was really subdued and when my teacher asked me what was wrong I said, "My mummy made me watch a film with chopped off heads, a nasty witch and scary men with no legs in it.". My mum got called into the school and got told off for letting a four year old watch horror films :lmao:! She was so embarassed - she said "It was the Wizard of Oz 2! I turned it off when she got scared!" - I have never been allowed to live it down :rotfl:.
Song of the South is an absolute classic! It's where Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah comes from!
Stu (sorry don't know how to do a double quote in a post!), I'm totally not ashamed () to admit I absolutely love Winnie the Pooh and Tigger - A Blustery Day is my favourite Winnie film! I saw the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh on playhouse disney not that long ago (what can I say? I needed a Disney Fix!) and it totally reminded me of watching the Disney Club on ITV on saturday mornings when I was little. I even remembered the theme tune and seeing some of the stories first time around. It also reminded me of how I used to send my drawings to the Disney Club and wait every week for them to be shown on telly - and they never were :sad1:!
