Is wearing black shorts to parks ok?

I have a skort which i bought in black and wondering if it would be ok to wear to the parks with a tunic length t-shirt (the skirt would be partially covered up by the shirt). I know that black attracts the sun and just wondering if anyone had any experience with this??

I'm a native Floridian and I often wore black, navy, purple, even denim shorts! The question is...how heavy is the material?? If they're wool or terry, you will be sweating buckets. If it's a nice cotton or blend you should be just fine :thumbsup2

We go in September and I wear black shorts all the time - never had any trouble and I am a sweater!!!

We just came back last week (tear). I wore black cotton shorts the entire time. They were very light weight. I have to say I did have pink shorts on one day and that by far must have been the hottest day. My pants were literally soaked by mid afternoon ... thank goodness we were on our way back to the room.

I wear capris each day to the parks. And most of the time I wear my black ones. I don't think I'm any hotter in them than I am the other colors.

yeah i wear black shorts to wdw pretty often too ... who wouldnt?! black goes with EVERYTHING! :goodvibes i agree with the earlier poster who said that it depends on the material though .. u want something lightweight.

Plus black covers spills and if you accidentally sit on something not so nice. Comfort and lite weight is key.

I'll wear black shorts or capris, but I steer clear of black or dark t-shirts if I can. For some reason I think they can retain the heat more than lighter colored ones. But I agree-- the main consideration for every item of clothing is the material!

All I wear is black shorts, changing color of tops each day, buy them at kmart for $3 at summer's end for next year. Can't go wrong with black shorts, they go with anything.

I haven't had any trouble with dark shorts, but dark tops for me are a killer. I even once wore a gray t-shirt that had short black sleeves and my arms felt like they were on fire. Which is to bad because I would love to wear my Nightmare Before Christmas and Jack Sparrow t-shirts, but I only can only find black ones.

Although I buy the soffe brand of cotton shorts. They remind me of cheerleading shorts. Very easy to move in and SUPER comfortable.

And like you said, you can wear any color top with black shorts!
