Hi guys been looking at this cart here http://orlando.craigslist.org/spo/1287491885.html
I emailed the seller and this is what I got back in the email
Hello,
I will attach some pics.
It is gas.
The total price is $2400 s/h included.
The golf cart is already at the shipping company in Miami,Florida sealed and ready for the shipping. I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them. I'm very busy with my job and I'm left out of the town so I can't meet in person with you so this is the reason why I chose to sell my golf cart over the internet. According to eBay you have 5 days from the time you receive the golf cart to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.
Here is how it will work:
1.First of all I will need the following details from you:
- Full Name
- Full Shipping Address
2. After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay.
3. After they will process your info, they will send us both invoices.
The invoice will send you the details on how to make a refundable payment.
4. eBay will contact me and I will ship the golf cart to you. After you receive the golf cart you will have 5 days to test, verify and do whatever you need to the golf cart. If you will buy, then I will receive the payment details from eBay so that I can pick up the money.
5. If you will decide that you will not buy the golf cart, eBay will refund the money and I will have the shipping company come pick up my golf cart. If you wish to make the transaction, please send me the necessary info so that we can proceed. I look forward to hear from you.
Thank you
Jenna Martins

I'm not an expert on golf carts but I have used both craigslist (lots of scammers on there, sadly) and eBay and this raises flags with me. ANY time someone can't "be there in person" or the like (other than your usual smaller items on eBay that are shipped anyway) I am suspicious. Also, eBay itself doesn't have a "return policy" like this person says you have "5 days to inspect." Return policies are set by the sellers.
Anyway, just my 2 cents, but I'd be careful.

This is a SCAM NO DOUBT!!!, look at what he says, handled thru Ebay. But it is listed on craigslist!!! Ebay does't handle any transaction that isn't initiated through them.
There are way too many good LEGITIMATE golf carts out there, pass on this one and be safe.

Skip it, scam all the way. A variation on the I'm-out-of-the-country-and-have-to-sell-through-a-3rd-party scheme. When shopping for my TT last year I hit no less than 8 of these. Glad I didn't get tempted on any of them.

Fishy, fishy, fishy. The pics sure don't look like Orlando to me. Why would you ship from Orlando to Miami before you know where it needs to go. Unless it is going out of the country it means it has to be back shipped and that just adds to the cost. There are plenty of freight forwarders in Orlando or Tampa. Fishy, fishy, fishy

Now that one, I would be in my truck with cash in my pocket, and get there before it is gone!!! LOL If you can drive it on the truck, I think $2450 is a dang good deal for that one! Just make sure it runs and drives well. No chance of being scammed if you are there in person right? ;)

I got the idea that this was the same cart as originally posted, but since the original posting was flagged they reposted it with different description. Nothing to say that they aren't trying to pull the same scam though. There is no contact info on the add so you still have to email for info and you're likely going to get the same BS.
If it really is available to view and pick up in person then I'd say check it out.

Scam scam scam.... these are all over craigslist. We had a woman find her own home on craigslist listed for sale from an overseas party!! Scary part was it even had a picture of the house!
Be very careful about any transaction on craigslist... I would also suggest if you find one and you plan to go see it, tell the seller that you are coming to look only and that if you like it you will make arrangements for another meeting to pay for it. You can still take your money but if they are looking to rob you they will think your coming empty handed and may cancel the meeting. There have been reports of robberies in the Phily area about this type of set up!
I would also suggest not going alone to any meeting.
Not trying to scare anyone away from a good deal on craigs list but just hoping to prevent some one from getting hurt... physically or financially

never mix craigslist with ebay or ebay with anything else....red flag should go up immediately...
if it was even a little legit, i would find out his/her seller name and report them to ebay as well
(i don't like ebay anymore because i think they are thieves, but i like less people being taken)

I saw this one on EBAY last week and kept emailing them because it just didn't seem right. Then I recived the same response twice and it really didn't answer my question.
I want you to know that I closed my auction earlier because someone has offered me the "Buy It Now" price, but he didn't have all the money available. Now the golf cart is still available.
Clean Nice 2005 EZ GO golf cart Electric = $1,599
If you want to buy my golf cart then e-mail me:
Full name for the title,
Shipping address for the delivery.
As soon as I have this information I'll start the official procedure, and eBay will notify you about this. You'll also receive important guidelines + instructions from eBay(please go through them exactly). I'll pay for the shipping, so this will be free of charge for you.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Needless to say they never heard from me again but I will say the cart was really nice.

Too late. I entered this information into Ebay and have emptied the account. However, if your client will provide me with all his financial information I will happily send him a check for $25.53, postdated by 3 years. I promise to only subtract a small transaction fee from his accounts. Honest. You can trust me.

I will also include a cashiers check for $10,000 USD to cover any shipping expenses or other labors you incure. Just send me $9,000 back in cash. You can Western Union it to better make sure I get it. Please don't listen to other americans on threads about Nigerian scams. I am an honest business man trying to only offer you the most best of service for you.

A few years back I was looking at a 4 wheeler on Ebay. It was a really good deal too good to be true. It belonged to a guy in the Navy who was in Spain and his sister had the 4 wheeler in Florida. He wanted me to Western Union the funds of course and he couldn't be reached on the phone because he wasn't allowed calls. Needless to say, I blew it off. I was looking at completed item 4 wheelers and walla, came across the same ad as his but a different name seller. Don't ask how they copy and paste the ads but it was identical. I also bid on a Honda 3000 generator once from a Jacksonville resident. Somehow or another there was a name on the ad and I looked up the person. Turns out they lived in South Dakota and had never owned a Honda 3000. Lot's of scams out there. I won't do anything Ebay unless I talk to the person by phone.

The key to not getting scammed on craigslist is don't look for something nice for a steal. Look for a fixer upper at a fair price. :thumbsup2

I bought my camper oncraigslist.....went through no less than 3-4 dozen scams in my search...they all have the same story...they never even bother to change the details for the most part. This scam has been around for quite a few years now....Im really surprised that they are still trying to use it...its worn out, everyone knows about it...does anyone really STILL fall for it???? Damnit, if someones gonna try to scam me....they had at least better put some effort into it!! Stupid Slacker Scammers!

One thing I found while searching craigs list for a golf cart was that at least 4 of the scams I found had writing at the bottom that was too small to read and a different color then the rest of the lettering. I only found it after I highlighted the area with my cursor. After I found it I noticed that the words were a very light yellow. I don't know what language it was but it sure was freaky... Now I gotta got find one to show ya'll.
Has anyone else found that?
BigDaddyRog

Ive seen that too....those are random quotes which help their ad get found when a search is done that has NOTHING to do with what they are selling(or pretending to sell).

I bought my golf cart trailer and my golf cart on craiglist. I went to go look at both in person and paid cash for both in person. I got a fair deal on both and was very happy.
Of course, I would NEVER buy anything sight unseen.
