Hi All,

I need ideas for the cruise basket for my DS 14yo and my DD 14 months old! I spoke to the Perfect Gift and she suggested I do one basket and includes things for both since DCL charges a fee to bring the baskets on board. I was also hoping to include a little something for DH. Teenagers are so hard to surprise and please  and DD is still so young I dont' want to spend $$ on things she will tossed aside.

Ideas would be appreciated. thxs:D

For toddler: sand toys for the beaches, small stuffed Disney themed animal/character, a couple Disney themed board books, maybe a coloring book with crayons

For teenager: Really depends on who she is. Consider books if she likes to read; make-up, nail polish, and hair accessories if she is into that sort of thing; walkman with headphones and a tape or CD or 2 of her favorite music/band; or handheld game system if she likes video games.

For both: How about some treats or candy that they normally aren't allowed to have at home.

What other ideas are out there?

Oh, for DH: How about a few magazines for his hobby, golf, hunting, photography. . .only you would know!

(OOPS!!! I didn't notice that your teenager was a son. So sorry! I would forget the make-up and nail polish then!!)

Waterproof camera for your teen, favorite drinks for hubby, bubbles for baby, stickers for baby for dinner time...

Disney hair accessories for both girls....Disney tie for Dad for Palo's?...rubber duckie or blow up intertube for baby for pool?

Gift baskets can be ordered ahead of time. They will be in your stateroom when you arrive. The company that provides these is at www.theperfectgift.cc -- they will make customized baskets -- so that is why people are asking for ideas.

Some of those glow sticks -- glow jewlerly etc for the evening deck parties. PLUS the teens have a glow jam party one night also. You could also include some custom made business type cards with your teen sons name, and email address on. He can give these to the new friends that he makes on board. Also for Teen Son -- a Disney type tshirt and some fabric markers. Often the teens have all of their newfound friends sign their shirts the last night.

Oooh...Disney SON! He probably won't appreciate those Disney hair accessories then, huh?

Glow sticks/rings, etc. are a great idea, I agree! And I love the idea of business cards! I am going to have those for all the kids for a Christmas present since we leave the week after Christmas!

Tigger...you can also send things to the Perfect Gift that you have bought to include in the basket they make for you! So if there is a particular shirt, toy, jewelry item, etc...just send it to Shirley!

I am planning on sending her several things to include in baskets for my kids to be in their room upon arrival. I know they'll get a kick out of it!

Shirley owns The Perfect Gift. Pull up their wedsite - look around- then call them. They are extemely nice and helpful.

How about a spillproof cup for the baby, a sports bottle for your son, and a travel coffee mug for your hubby. All can be purchased at The Disney Store and shipped to Shirley to include in your basket.

By the way, TDS has summer toys on sale 50% off. I just bought a Buzz and Woody and Peter Pan and Tinkerbelle raft for $3.50 each. Planning on packing them for our May cruise so they won't blend in with the rental floats and we can take them on beach excurtions.

Back to the basket, how about a box of Gerber fruit chews, cookies, or crackers for the baby or a box or two of animal crackers.

Lottery tickets might be nice for DH...I got those for mine for a 10th Anniversary basket (Shirley did an awesome job in making it a Chicago Bears theme), and those little handheld Yahtzee games are addictive and great on airplanes, so that might be good for your son. Shirley got one of those for me to put in a crew member basket.

Great Ideas - I knew I could count on my Dis Friends to help me out.:)

Keep them coming - unfornately I don't think I'm going to have time to mail anything to Shirley (?Does anyone know how far in advance it needs to be? we leave on the 13th) so I will need ideas for things she can easily get.

;) For those of you who haven't discovered it yet, you can get 250 FREE business cards at www.vistaprint.com as long as you allow them to "advertise" on the back. All you pay is shipping. I think it cost $5.10 when I ordered last time - of course, now postal rates have risen again!

We camp all summer and then with the cruise coming up next April, I had "family" cards made, with our names, address, phone and e-mail addresses. I have already used many of these for those times when someone asks for any of that info!! A little less likely to be thrown out than a slightly used napkin!!

They have LOTS of really great designs to choose from. Check it out. It's a little late for a cruise on the 13th (sorry!) but I think it only takes about 2 weeks for them to arrive.

Beth, Thanks for the website. I'm definitely going to use them. I have shopped for plenty of goodies myself for the kids. But wasn't sure what ot do about the cards. Thanks a bunch. Donna
