This may be a stupid question but I will ask it anyway.
Does anyone know if a lens from a Canon film SLR will fit on a Canon digital SLR?
Thanks

Maybe. If the Canon film SLR is an EOS series camera, it will work. If it is an old FD series camera it will not. Essentially, if the camera had autofocus it will work and if the film camera didn't have autofocus it won't work.

I concur. My brother had an older 35mm film camera and his lens works on my rebel.

Yep. I have a Canon film EOS 3 and a Canon digital Rebel XTi and all of my lenses I bought for the Rebel work on the film camera I inherited. Which I was very very very happy about. =)

Canon eos lenses work but if it's a third party lens it may not work even if it was made for eos . some sigma used to be rechippable but not sure anyone does that still. in my case when i went to digital, one third party worked, one was rechipped and still didn't work well enough to warranty using it.
