Just thought I would pass this on for those with young ones, or making up gifts for cruising kids. This evening I made several purchases at theDisney Store at the 50% off summer sale to make up my own gift baskets for my cruising friends and their children. Bearing in mind that the inside staterooms are dark and there is no clock in the stateroom, I happened upon these Toy Story Radio Alarm Clocks, battery operated, with a Flashlight on the underside of the clock. Had I not taken the item out of the box to exam it I never would have known about the flashlight at its base. The cost was $10 and I know it will be a big help especially to the 3 year old at bedtime, and the clock will please the parents.

Thanks for the idea. I will take a peak at my local Disney store this weekend.

I found a picture at disneystore.com that I think is the item you are talking about. (searched for Toy Story clock) It is still at $20 there! $10 is a great price. I may have to do some shopping!

You are correct, the search on disneystore.com for "toy story clock" will bring you to the item. I thought the item was worth the $10 cost. After the cruise it will look cute in a little boy's bedroom and can come in handy on a little guy's camping trip.

AliPom- I like your idea about bringing baskets aboard for the children alot cheaper, I'm sure. Will Disney allow this? Is there a way they will put them in your cabins so the children as surprised? Thanks Tigger

Not sure if the link will work, but if you search under luggage at the Disney Store you'll see the Pooh roll-on bags on sale for $12.99 (regularly $26). My kids are small (3&4) and these are perfect sizes for airplanes or you could put all your surprises in them, hide them in a large duffle bag and present them on the boat?
They also have a ton of bathing suits at $9.99 and a bunch of dress-up stuff as low as $5 - GREAT sale.
I received a code SUMMERFUN when I checked out for a purchase through 7/31 - it gives you 10% off and I bet anyone can use it!
Have fun!

I do not know if they can be put into the cabins in advance. Since I will be on the cruise and because we can not wrap items up for airport security purposes, and packing will be easier if I don't make them up in advance, I figured that I can make up the baskets in my stateroom in 5 minutes time, with a card from Mickey Mouse & friends and slip our stateroom host a few dollars to deliver them to my friend's cabins. I don't think the surprise or enjoyment will be lost. And the stateroom host may appreciate the tip.
Also, the parents will be told in advance what the "kids" will be getting so that there is no duplication in packing. Also, since we will be at WDW first, I will be purchasing wine in Epcot -- France & Itally to take on board, and will take advantage of the on property package delivery service from Epcot to my hotel room. What could be easier! :smooth:

Went to my Disney STore today and they didn't have them :( I did buy my dd a ten dollar Little Mermaid swimming suit though. I'm going to call the other Disney stores in the area to see about the clock. My DD loves Buzz so mommy will try before she breaks down and orders it online.

Thanks for that tip! Went to Dstore when I left the office. Got adjustment for yesterday's purchase and scored on Buzz stuff "to infinity and beyond" today for which I posted info on a new thread.
