Hi everyone! I've been lurking for quite sometime and just decided I was being a silly goose by not going ahead and registering and announcing my lurkiness. So - by way of introduction and in hopes to get adopted by one of the great wish teams on here, here's a bit about myself.
I walked a half marathon in 2003 (coming in at just 4 minutes before the cutoff so I'm really slow!) but have been completely inactive since then. These days I don't even have the energy to keep up with my two boys (both around 10). So...I decided to start the Couch to 5k (modified a bit because I'm a Bingham fan from years upon years ago) for my short term goal. I hope to run/walk a 5k in November.
My long range goal to run/walk the Princess Half came about in a weird way. I was given a book by a friend about how we (females anyway!) are all God's princesses. While reading through the book I happened to hear about the Princess Half. Deciding this was a sign I made the decision to get my tush in gear and am now excited to get started.
I've also started a livejournal to chronicle my progress (so if anyone else has one I'd love to read about your triumphs/adversities as your training goes on too!). I'm runprincess_run there too if you want to add me so we can share in the misery. Oops, I mean ecstasy of our training. :D
So....anyone willing adopt me??? Pretty please? With Mickey shaped sprinkles on top????
