We finally made it down and all in one piece. The last week was a whirlwind. I will have to go into further detail. My dog welcomed us to the neighborhood by running away in the first hour we were here and getting a little action from the neighbors dog. Nice hungh!! Our house was a dirty mess and after a 16 hour drive I had to clean for 8 hours just to make it somewhat habitable for my standards. The better points are I love the house layout. I am getting things together waiting on the moving truck to arrive. There are tons of kids for my son to play with.
Oh and we just had dinner at Dixie Crossroads. Mmmmmm!!! Kathy your pics last week had me wanting them so bad. Now I can finally book my DISapalooza trip when the movers arrive with my packed stuff/info.
Whoooo Hooooo I am so happy!!
Congratulations on the move Liz! I hope you enjoy everything Central Florida has to offer. :goodvibes

Where did you move to? I am guessing not far from the east coast since you ate at Dixie Crossroads. We are right up the road here in Daytona Beach.

As a life-long Floridian, I welcome you. Now all that's left are your "Florida initiation events:"
- Your first hurricane
- Your first case of sea lice
- Finding at least one new "pet" (including but not limited to albino lizards and toads)
- Creating a winter wardrobe full of flip-flops and light jackets.
- Buying the entire library of Jimmy Buffet CDs
- Choosing a side (Gators, Noles, or 'Canes)
- Finally convincing yourself St. Augustine actually has more historical significance than all the places that are too far away to drive to
And finally...
- Your first sunburn...in January
I know you will love it here!! You're going to meet some great people up there where you are. Just remember, it's O-possum, not just possum, and Boca Raton is pronounced like rat-own. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone I only had a few minutes yesterday before I fell into bed.
Well us northerners do pronance things very differently
I live in Brevaaard county not BrevArd like I would say. Dont know how to type that.:rotfl:
The Walmart is a little scary so tomorrow I go to publix.
The giant crane things in the back pond/lake scare the crap out of my son since they are bigger than him.
Our neighbors are very friendly but I think I am a bit more interested in Viera so we are going up there today before hitting the beach.
This is just so surreal..........
KEVIN thanks for remembering me on the podcast I am just now listening!!

The Walmart is a little scary so tomorrow I go to publix.!!
I'm still getting used to our Walmart...the one here in Cocoa is tiny compared to the one I used to go to in Texas, but I love our Publix
The giant crane things in the back pond/lake scare the crap out of my son since they are bigger than him
They scared us too the first time we saw them because we heard them before we saw them and didn't know what the heck it was...then on the 4th when I was grilling it just walked up and stared at me for a few seconds before he walked away...do you have (well the better question is have you seen) a gator in your pond? I know we have one in ours but we've only seen his eyes and nose poking out of the water

I couldn't take it when you said you ate at Dixie Crossroads so we drove down this eve for dinner. It was great. But the storms seemed to be getting bad when we were leaving so stay safe down there.

I hope you had a good dinner. The storms were wicked crazy scary for a northerner like me. I saw a rain sprout tornado thing on the news. OK that is a little nutso. Psssstt thanks for those cards I am gonna use them next week once I get my FL license.
txjvc - cant do the multiquote thing duh. NO alliators in our pond that I have spotted yet. If I do see one I will keep my little doggie far away from him so he is not a snack.
Kathy those cranes are scary and our neighbor was yelling across the yards to stay away from them they are aggressive. I think she scared Ethan more than the birds did. :rotfl: He keeps calling them Ostriches. :rotfl:

The cranes don't bother us. :) They also are like an alarm clock when they are honking.
