I love reading TRs and PTRs so I decided to start one of my own. I hope I will have some readers.
The Who:
Me - Joy, wife, mommy and Disney fanatic
DH - Steve, amazing daddy, but only tolerates Disney
Gabe - my wonderful DS who will be almost 3 at the time of our trip. He loves Playhouse Disney, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny are his very favorites
Mimi - my wonderful mom and DS's grandmother - she isn't much of a ride person, but she will eat her way around the world
PopPop - my wonderful dad and DS's grandfather - he is the only other Disney lover in the family, but he doesn't love it as much as I do
Here's the whole gang on our last trip. Unfortunately my niece (on the far right) won't be joining us this time:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/joy75/PTR%20pics/n704590063_843625_8061.jpg
Here's a recent picture of me and my DS. As you can see he has grown quite a bit since the previous picture:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/joy75/n704590063_5075.jpg
The When:
We live in South Florida so WDW is only a 2.5 hour drive away so we tend to take shorter trips. For this trip we are staying 4 days and 3 nights - September 15th through the 18th.
The Where:
We are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort for the first time and I am so excited about it! I think DS is going to love the kids area at the pool. We usually stay at POFQ but I wanted to try something new this time.
Some Background Info:
Even though I grew up in South Florida I only went to Disney a few times. It wasn't until I got a part-time job at the Disney Store during college that I truly fell in love with Disney. My fellow Disney Store CMs and I used to take day trips to WDW pretty frequently and it soon became my favorite place and that has never changed. :lovestruc
As soon as my DS was born I couldn't wait to take him to WDW so we took a family trip when he was 10 months old. We had a wonderful time. I am even more excited about this trip though because this feels like DS's first real trip - this time he will recognize the characters - this time he will really "get it" - I am so excited I can hardly stand it! :cheer2:
Right after I booked our trip I ordered the WDW planning DVD and DS and I have already watched it so many times together. He also loves looking at the park maps that came with the DVD. Here he is looking at the maps:
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee3/joystoki/IMG_2491.jpg
Now our trip is less than 2 months away and I can't wait to finish planning all the little details.
Thanks for anyone who read this. More will be coming soon if I get any readers. :goodvibes

The last few weeks have been really fun because I have started shopping for our trip. :cool1: Why is it that the shopping is one of the funnest parts? This does not bode well for my wallet. :rotfl:
Yesterday I bought DS's Halloween costime. We are going to MNSSHP on our first night so he will wear his costume there and then again at home for Halloween itself. I wanted DS to go as a pirate and I found the CUTEST pants on Etsy - they are to die for cute! :lovestruc
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/joy75/disney/il_430xN_81495692.jpg
I thought DS could wear the pants with a shirt I just got him at Babies R'Us last week:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/joy75/disney/IMG_2701.jpg
And then to top it off I found this darling hat on Etsy:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/joy75/disney/il_430xN_71319440.jpg
I can't wait - I think he is going to look too cute! :) I also got him a foam Pirate sword at Michael's, but I don't think they will be allowed at Disney - does anyone know?
I found this Mickey shirt yesterday and ordered it for DS. I am going to buy him his first pair of Mickey ears on our trip too so it will be perfect!
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/joy75/disney/mickey.jpg
DS outgrew his stroller recently and we really needed a new one to use for the next few years for places like Disney, the zoo and the mall. I did research nad found one with a 55 pound weight limit for my tall boy. It was available in several colors, but of course I had to get the red and black one - it is MICKEY colors! :cool1: DS already loves his stroller and pushes his toys around in it all over the house.
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/joy75/disney/IMG_2700.jpg
I also got myself a few cute new things for the trip - a new Land's End bathingsuit with a skirt to cover my new mommy body () and two really cute tops on sale from Anthroplogie. I'll take pictures of those soon if anyone is interested. :goodvibes
Up next, our trip itenerary and ADRs. :cool1:

Our plans:
Tuesday, September 15th:
Our plans for this day are not concrete and I would love advice on how to spend our afternoon. :goodvibes
We will be leaving home to drive to WDW together in the AM. We live 2.5 hours away so we can be at WDW pretty early, depending on when we leave. The only things set in stone for this day are checking in at CBR and attending MNSSHP that night and eating at Liberty Tree Tavern at 4:30 that afternoon during the party.
What would you do that day before the party? I am thinking about hitting Downtown Disney - where should we each lunch? We won't have park tickets for this day so we need to do something outside of a park. :goodvibes
Wednesday, September 16th:
This is our EPCOT day. :cool1: We plan on hitting the park in the AM, having lunch at Sunshine Seasons and then going back to CBR to swim and relax.
We have a dinner ADR at Biergarten for 6:30 and then we planning on seeing Illuminations. Believe it or not I have never seen Illuminations.
Thursday, September 17th:
This is our Animal Kingdom Day! AK is my favorite and my dad's favorite so we will be there most of the day. When we're done at AK we will head back to CBR to rest and get ready for our dinner ADRs at O'Hana. :woohoo: The Poly is my dream resort so I'm hoping DH will fall in love with the resort while we're there.
Friday, September 18th:
This is our last day. :sad1: We are planning on going to HS and then heading home in the afternoon. We have a lunch ADR at Sci-Fi at 11:35. This is also my dad's birthday. :cheer2:
So, those are our tentative plans. Please feel free to give your input.
Up next, pictures from Gabe's first trip when he was 10 months old. :lovestruc

I love the shirt of the Mickey Mouse body! Way too cute! and I have to agree that Maclaren strollers are aaawweesome!! I have a 3 year old and one that is 19 months and although short trips around the mall warrant only a single stroller, Disney and such require a more substantial and sturdy stroller so we got a Maclaren Double!! We love It!!
We have reservations for O'hana too although it is for about a week after yours, we loved it the first time we were there and picked that and chef mickey to be our return to eateries. the rest are all new to us. Your plans sound awesome and well thought out. - If you have time and extra money check out BBB in Downtown disney I think they do a pirate theme thing for little boys. We went there with my daughter in 2007 before hitting the halloween party she loved it. (Although boys may find more interest in the lego store next door. lol)
Keep up the great report and I hope you have a wonderful trip!
Love the pictures!!!

Welcome! :flower3: Thanks for stopping by! Halloween is our favorite time of year to go. We went to MNSSHP in 2007 and agreed that it was the highlight of our trip. The fall also tends to be a low crowd time so it's perfect. And there is nothing wrong with planning future trips - that's what the Dis is for.

Like I said in my first post I fell in love with WDW when I was in college and I dreamed of taking my future children there. Having a child turned out to be a challenge though and it took years of heartbreaking infertility and 2 miscarriages until DH and I finally had our miracle, Mr. Gabriel Micah. :lovestruc
So of course as soon as Gabe was born I started thinking about a trip to Disney and I was able to convince DH to go for 4 days in October 2007 when Gabe was 10 months old. :cheer2:
We went from Thursday - Sunday and stayed at POFQ. We went to MNSSHP our first night and loved it!
My parents decided to join us for 2 days of the trip too (Saturday & Sunday)and they brought along my niece Hannah who was 14 at the time.
Traveling with a baby to WDW is great IMO. It is such a kid friendly place and we really had a wonderful time. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip:
DS in the food court right after we arrived:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/joy75/disney/disney1007002.jpg
Checking out the resort - my DH and DS. DH ended up carrying DS a lot during that trip. Poor guy said his arms were so sore - DS was a baby BEEFCAKE. He weighed 9 lbs 13 oz at birth and was over 20 pounds for sure at the time of this trip.

I'll hopefully get to post our pictures from Day 2 of our 10/07 trip later today, but in the mean time I have a question:
For DS's Halloween costume should I use the cream & black skull and crossbones t-shirt or would a solid black shirt look better?
I just ordered a shirt for myself for MNSSHP:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/joy75/PTR%20pics/JT5716-F0303Anail.jpg
So, I'm not actually dressing up but I wanted something with a pirate theme to match DS.

I am still deliberating about what shirt to use for Gabe's pirate costume (yeah this is a life changer :lmao:) and I am thinking I might like a black shirt better than the cream.
I found this on Etsy, but is it too busy with the pants and hat? The hat is red & black striped in person (it kind of looks hot pink in the picture :cutie:).

What would you do? A solid black shirt or the skull tank?

Well it looks like I am back to the drawing board for a hat for Gabe's costume. I bought the one on Etsy 2 weeks ago and I haven't received it or heard anything from the seller. I messaged the seller on Friday and I haven't heard anything back. I guess I need to file a Paypal claim to get my money back and find something else. Arg! That is my frustated pirate yell.
If anyone sees a cute hat that would go well with the shirt and pants please post it here. Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Here are the pictures from the 3rd day of our 10/07 trip. This was a Saturday and it was the day my parents and my niece drove up to meet us and then we headed to Epcot for the day.
DH and I believe that DS's favorite part of this trip was crawling around the hotel room and pulling up on all the furniture.
This morning we were in the room waiting for my parents to arrive so DS had lots of time to crawl around and cause trouble:

I read a great tip in another PTR about bringing along a pop-up hamper to put dirty clothes in. Since we drive to WDW I thought this was an excellent idea. That way we don't have to pack our dirty clothes back in our suitcases and we can just stick the hamper in the back of our minivan for the drive home.
I got am email from Disney shopping this AM about the PJ Pals being $5.00 so I was on the site and started clicking around and found this hamper:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/joy75/PTR%20pics/93077.jpg
It was only $8.00 and it will be perfect for our trip and then DS can have it in his room afterwards. :cool1:

Happy update - Gabe's pirate hat came in the mail today after all. I was totally surprised and the seller also included an additional hat that is adult sized too for free so I may end up wearing it for MNSSHP too.
I asked DH if he would wear a "piratey" t-shirt for MNSSHP so we would have a family theme, but he refused - such a party pooper.

joining in. Loving your PTR. we arrive at disney 9/20 just missing your stay. I love the pirate theme. We have gone through so many ideas for costumes and still are undecided. My DS4 want to be either buzz lightyear or captain hook both of which I am trying to tell him might be too hot to wear but he doesnt seem to want to hear that. Can you give me an idea of what kind of weather to expect at night. I figured you could help since you are close to WDW.

Welcome! Thanks for joining in! :flower3: The weather should be pretty warm - even at night it will still be in the low 80's. The coolest it might be would probably be in the upper 70's. If it rains it may be a bit cooler than that, but not much. I hope that helps! :goodvibes
Last Halloween DS was French Fries - it was a great costume, but a bit hot and probably not that comfortable. He didn't wear it for long stretches so it worked out though.

OK, it's time for "bag talk"
The discussion of what bags I may bring on our trip really starts with a story. After the birth of DS I was on the lookout for a fun, colorful, unique diaper bag. It seemed like everyone I knew had the same 2 brands of diaper bags and I really wanted something different. I was perusing a diaper bag thread on a parenting forum and people kept mentioning "Tokidoki" bags a lot, but no one ever posted a picture. Curiousity got the best of me and I googled Tokidoki - that was it - love at first sight. :lovestruc Tokidoki was created by an artist named Simone Legno and his bright, colorful patterns are just so me! Honestly, it probably would have been better if I never discovered Tokidoki because it started an immense collection that has cut way into my WDW trip budget. :rotfl:
Now, over 2 years later I have almost 30 pieces of Tokidoki - both bags and accessories. :rolleyes1 Four of my bags are "cross body" style so those are the ones I am considering for the trip.
These two bags are both the same style. They are a good size and will hold quite a bit without looking too bulky:

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee3/joystoki/LAmoreCorriere002.jpg
This bag lays flat so it's fine with a wallet and a few other small things in it but if I pack it too much it can look bulky:
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee3/joystoki/bd819a36.jpg
This one holds quite a bit so it may be nice for the trip too:
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee3/joystoki/IMG_2366.jpg
Before I found Tokidoki I was really into Vera Bradley bags and I still like them a lot and recently bought the mailbag in cupcakes green so that may go on the trip too.

Wow - our trip is only a little over 3 weeks away now - time is FLYING by!
We measured DS last night to see how tall he is for rides and he was 38.5 inches.
He is tall enough to ride to the Barn Stormer and Maelstrom and Spaceship Earth but I'm not sure if we should try those? He is almost 3 and rough houses with DH all the time and has been pretty fearless so far, but I don't want to take him on anything that will scare him. Any opinions on taking him on those 3 rides? Thanks in advance!!! :goodvibes

Barnstormer is a great starter coaster. If you get there early enough you may be able to catch Goofy himself riding in the front car!!!
I hate roller coasters but got on this one with my son and he wanted to go again so Daddy had to step in for the next couple go arounds.
We didn't do Spaceship Earth.
Maelstrom may be scary because I remember it being a little dark but I also remember it being a great place to cool off.
We'll be over on the Winnie the Pooh ride for about 3 hours and then he did say he would try Nemo this year because I told him they probably have a Dory plushie we could buy at the end of the ride:goodvibes
It's getting so close!!!!!
I am getting scared about the heat. If it's too bad our plan B will be all waterparks and the other parks at night;)

Hello.... Just found your PTR!
You're so lucky you only live 2 1/2 hours away from Disney.... I couldn't imagine being that close and not going ALLLLL the time.
Your son is adorable! I also agree that taking babies to WDW isn't bad at all. I took my DD to Disney when she was 6 months, 18months, and 2 years and it was a fun experience each time. I'm the most excited about our upcoming trip in March though because like you said about your son..... She's fianlly going to "get it"!! She recognizes most characters and she just recently became obsessed with the princesses and Tinkerbell... It's going to be sooooo much fun. But we'll also have a 3 month old baby to take, so it's going to be a REAL adventure.
I laughed when you mentioned your sons weight at 10months old.... That's NOTHING my friend.... My girlfriends baby is 5 months old and already weighs what your son did at 10months old.... He's a cute Chunky Monkey!
Look forward to more......have fun on your trip.

Hi there! I just found your PTR and count me in as a reader! I love your pics from when Gabriel was 10 months old! We are taking our own baby pirate (name TBD) when he is 5, 7, and 11 months old next year, and your pictures are making me even more excited for our trip! We used to live in Jacksonville (just moved away in May), and used to take many smaller trips also. Now that we are living in Virginia, we won't be able to go as often, but we will be able to take longer trips.
As for your ride questions, I don't think he'd have any problem with Spaceship earth. Its a little dark, but not scary at all and definately not fast-paced. I think he would probably also do OK on Malestrom, the trolls can be a little scary for some kids, but maybe if you talk to him about it, and maybe show him what they will look like from ride videos, he will be OK. Barnstormer is the wildest of the 3, but it is geared towards kids, so if he wants to try it out, I say go for it!
I'm really sad we aren't making it down for MNSSHP and F&W this year, its the 1st time in 4 years that we've missed it. I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through you! :goodvibes

Living so close to WDW is amazing!!! When DS is a little older I'm sure we'll have annual passes and DS and I can go up for weekend trips all the time - I can't wait. :lovestruc
Your DD is going to be so excited on your next trip!!! This is just the perfect age for WDW I think. I taped a WDW special on the travel channel the other day and DS was jumping up and down screaming Disney World, Disney World - DH and I were cracking up. :rotfl: Do you have a PTR for your March trip?
Oh I empthasize with your friend. I thought DS would be a giant baby forever, but once he started crawling and walking he thinned way out - he actually weighed 29 pounds for over a year. He finally gained 2 pounds and is now 31.

We missed MNSSHP last year and I was so sad - DS was just at an age where a trip to WDW would have been way too stressful.
Showing DS a video of Maelstrom is such a great idea!! Thank you so much for suggesting it. I will do that this weekend and see how he responds. :goodvibes
Congrats on your upcoming baby pirate! Some people probably think I'm crazy, but I LOVED being pregnant - planning for my little guy was just so much fun. I loved buying all the little clothes, decorating his nursery, and picking out all the baby gear. :lovestruc I spent HOURS researching everything - strollers, monitors, you name it....:rotfl:
Bringing a baby to Disney really is so fun! I will look forward to all your upcoming TRs next year. :goodvibes

My DD is the same way.... We were watching Jon and Kate plus 8 this morning ((btw I HATE that show)) But they were going to Disney World, so I decided to go ahead and watch it. Reya ((dd)) couldn't shut up... ""Mommy Dizzy World, Dizzy World""...... ""I wanna ride that"".... ""Look it's Snow Wipe""... ""I wanna go, I wanna go"" :lmao: I loved seeing how excited she was, so this is going to be the best trip yet. She knows that we can't go until after the baby gets here, so everytime someone asks her about it, she says ""We gotta wait for the baby to come out"" :rotfl2:

I got more Mickey Mail today in the form of the new stroller bag I got for our trip. I had it embroidered with our last name so I can leave it on our stroller and no one will take it. It fits perfectly on the back of our new Maclaren stroller and doesn't cause it to tip. I am going to use it to store a change of clothes, snacks and pull-ups (we are potty training).

The diet I am starting is called The Trim Club. My mom dis it in the spring and lost 20 pounds in a few months and she didn't have much to lose. I am excited to give it a try. Yes, I got it at Disney Shopping. It was relatively inexpensive too - only about $25 total with the embroidery. :thumbsup2
Ok, so I am in a total conundrum with what to wear to MNSSHP. I ordered that Paul Frank pirate t-shirt, but the XL was sold out and I ordered the Large - eek! It is WAY too small. :sad2: So then I ordered a sleeveless black t-shirt from Land's End in a large and it is way too big! The difference between the two larges is crazy actually.
So now I have nothing "piratey" to wear. I may just have to wear a non-pirate look. If anyone sees something cute please post it here. :goodvibes

Welcome!!! :cheer2: I'm so happy you decided to stop by. That's exciting that you're going to be there at the same time. Can you believe how close we're getting? :dance3:
We took a 2nd Disney trip as a family in March 2008 so I will try a post some pictures from that trip in the next few days. That trip was somewhat unplanned. To have DS we went through infertility treatments and very close monitoring of my pregnancy. Right around DS's first birthday we learned that I was pregnant again. This pregnancy was a total surprise but we were very happy. Long story short I lost the baby at around 13 weeks pregnant. I was devastated and I couldn't seem to snap out of it. My DH is so wonderful - he approached me one day and said he just wanted me to be happy and he knew a trip to Disney would make me happy. He was right - it was so wonderful and planning in and then going actually did cheer me up and helped me heal from the loss. We only went for 3 days and 2 nights, but it was still a wonderful trip.
That is just an example of how wonderful my DH is. I am so blessed to have him in my life. :lovestruc

Hi, I'm joining in too! I have 2 boys (ages 2 and 4), and we leave in 12 days for our first family trip! I am getting so excited, but also starting to freak out a bit! I love your shopping taste, by the way. I think his pirate costume will be super cute, I lov the Mickey t-shirt you got him to go with the ears, and the penguin suitcase is adorable!

Welcome!!! :dance3: Thank you so much for the compliment. I think I enjoy shopping a little too much. 12 days is so soon - you must be so excited! Your boys are going to love it. :goodvibes
Here is a sneak peek picture from our 03/2008 trip. This is DS in the car on our way to Disney. :)

:goodvibes
I work at a college and classes started here on Monday and it is crazy busy! We hit record numbers for our enrollment. At least the time should fly until our trip - less than 3 weeks now.[/QUOTE]
You could always just get an eye patch and buy one of those "Pirate Princess" themed mouse ears and wear that for the party. I think then you would be piratey (is that even a word?) enough, without having to worry about a shirt!

OK, so I am officially HORRIBLE at dieting, but I am still 35 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight and I have a closet full of clothes that don't fit. :sad2:
I really, really want to lose weight for the trip so I am starting a diet with my mom tomorrow and I am planning on doing it for 3 weeks. Wish me luck! I would love to lose at least 10 pounds. :goodvibes
I'm trying to lose 10 lbs. in 3 weeks too! Do you mind me asking what kind of diet you're doing? I started Sunday, I"m doing great, not losing really yet but hope too....I'm trying South Beach. I'm sending you luck....I need it too!!!:goodvibes

Basically what I'm doing is having 2 salads a day - for lunch and dinner - and then I add protein to the salad - usually grilled chicken or steak. For the breakfasts I alternate between a boiled egg with a Wasa cracker or oatmeal or healthy cereal with skim milk. For snacks I have been having fresh fruit. I just started so we'll see how it goes, but my mom had a ton of success doing this. :goodvibes

:lovestruc
AAAWWEEEE!!! That's so sweet!
Well, you have one ADORABLE son.... Looking at his pictures make me really excited to have a BOY!! I've been a little scared out of my mind thinking about raising a boy. :lmao: But it can't be too different then raising a girl, right?!?!:confused3

Hi Gabes_mommy, just followed you over from jmkford4 PTR. We're actually leaving the same day you are 9/15 :cool1:
Just read through your PTR and wanted to comment on a few things...
1) your DS is adorable, my DS just turned 3 this month :thumbsup2, I have a tall boy too...he's already 43"
2) love the pirate costume. we're going to skip MNSSHP this year b/c we have to buy DS his own annual pass this year, but maybe next year?! :confused3
3) We also live in S. FL and are bout 3.5 hours away, so we often do small trips too. Usually long weekends. This will be our longest stay 6 days/5 nights and I am really looking forward to it.
4) Good luck with your dieting. I'm also trying to lose baby weight (yes, after 3 years ) and extra weight I shouldn't have been carrying before baby :rotfl:. I've been doing Atkins for about 10 months now and have been losing steadily until recently when i've been plateauing (sp?) but I'm sticking too it. :goodvibes
5) about the rides...my DS loved the Barnstormer last time in May 09, so he was 2.75. we also did spaceship earth that trip and he enjoyed it too. we're going to try maelstrom this trip, we only skipped it on past trips b/c of wait times?!
looking forward to more updates popcorn::

Welcome!!! Thanks for joining in! :goodvibes
Congrats on your weight loss!! It is hard work. Thanks for the input about the rides. I think we are going to go ahead and try all of them. :thumbsup2 That is so exciting that you are going for 6 days this time. I love being so close to WDW but the down side is usually taking shorter trips. Hopefully someday I'll get to go for a whole week. :)
43 inches is really tall! I am thinking my DS is about to sprout up again because he gained 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks.

Wow! That is tall.... Everybody keeps telling me that my little girl looks tall for her age. ((she's 3 years 5mos)) and I'm like "WHAT"?!?! :scared1: I think she's tiny. We measured her the other day and she's 38 inches.
I'm debating whether we should take her on the barnstormer.. We took her on a kid roller coaster at this place in california and she almost had a heart attack.. I've never seen her freak out over something like that before.. But I'm thinking once she sees her cousins having fun on certain rides she's going to want to do whatever they do. :confused3
I'm so jealous you're leaving on your trip so soon! You're going to love the CBR! That's where we spent most of our honeymoon!! I have a funny story about our wedding night. Maybe I'll tell you someday! :rolleyes1 Don't worry it's totally a PG story! :lmao:

I wish I could buy myself some clothes right now for our trip but I have NOOO idea what size I'll be wearing at that time. For our 03/08 trip we stayed at POFQ again. I just love POFQ and I found it so soothing on that trip. I spent a lot of time sitting on the benches and reading or going for walks while DH and DS napped. :cloud9:
By this trip DS was 15 months old and running around like crazy. Our first day we checked it and had lunch in the foodcourt and then I let DS walk wherever he wanted all over the resort.
At lunch playing with my phone:

Love the shirts, off to check out Disney shopping now :rotfl: and Disney store in the mall later this week! By the way I work at a college too. Ok you hear it too right?! It's a small world...
Lane Bryant and the Avenue have worked for me, especially the clearance section, pretty much the only thing I go to in those stores. Also, I've found Marshall's has some good stuff, but you have to "dig" and I don't always have the time to dig with a 3 yr old in tow :rotfl2: kwim?

I know the feeling. My diet isnt going the greatest either. Although I do have a few pieces of clothing that I bought earlier in the summer. I am not thrilled with the stuff though. I usually can find nice stuff at a good price at Kohl's do you have one near you? I wear a 14 usually but sometimes a 12 depending on the week :lmao: I am a yo yo dieter and usually go up a few down a few lbs. I know Kohl's has a section of sizes 16 to 20 something and the clothing all still looks really nice and fashionable. Other than that I know lane bryant and old navy's bottoms always work well. I hate the shirts there lately everything is so thin and it doesnt flatter anyone bigger than a size 6. Good luck with shopping.

Everyone always thinks DS is way older than his 3 years. I guess, b/c he's the height of a 5 year old according to the pediatrician?! :rotfl:
So for all of our previous trips, when he was under 3, I just carried a copy of his birth certificate with me JIC, but only ever had one CM ask his age and never asked to see certificate?! ;) This time, he gets his very own AP

Fun! I think we are going to get APs on this trip because of the new 15 months offer but DS won't get his until next year.
Just found your PTR. Your son is adorable and I love all the stuff you have purchased so far. We will be staying at CBR this time also so I can't wait to see some pics.
Welcome!!! I'm so glad you stopped by. :goodvibes I will be sure to take lots of CBR pictures. :thumbsup2
DD is 3 1/2 and she still gets away with being 2 sometimes. :rolleyes1 Sshhhh don't tell anyone at the Denver Zoo! :lmao: I'm thinking it's only going to last another month or so, she's definitely growing fast all of a sudden.
I won't tell.

Aw, thanks! I think he's a keeper. :lovestruc I am actually getting to the point of feeling overwhelmed. I am ready with a lot of things, but realizing that there are still a lot of details I need to nail down. For example, DS must be going through a growth spurt be cause he has been eating non-stop lately. Since he's not 3 he won't technically be on the dining plan with us, so we'll share meals with him, but I also need to being a bunch of snacks and juices for him. I'm going to try to shop for all of that this weekend.
I got my package from Disney Shopping yesterday and I love my 2 new shirts! They both fit perfectly. Interestingly, the XL is slightly smaller than the L. I am just glad both fit so I now have 2 cute new tops for the trip. :cool1:

I have had the same thought with Amelia....when we go out to eat I usually order her something off of the kids menu. She is pretty picky and I can't say she will want to eat what we are so we might end up paying for her a meal oop.

I won't be surprised if we end up ordering a lot of stuff for Gabe OOP - that's OK though, it's still cheaper than having to buy him his own tickets.

My packages just arrived and there's good news and there's bad news. The good news is I am a smaller size than I thought, which is always nice , the bad news is all 3 pants from Old Navy are WAY too big. I absolutely LOVE the capris and top from Lane Bryant though. The pants are too big also, but not hugely so. In fact I think they'll be perfect for an expanding waistline due to the dining plan. :rotfl:
Overall, I am really happy. Now between the stuff I had and the things I got that fit I feel confident that I have enough cute outfits for the trip. I am going to make some cute matching costume jewelry for my new outfits too. :cloud9:
Adorable!!!!!!! Love it....hope they fit great and you love them!!:cutie:

Thanks! It fun was making it. To me the planning is such a fun part of a Disney trip. It shocks me that my DH and parents just let me do all the planning without giving any input. I guess they know I'll do a good job and they can just go along for the ride.
Big day today - I am going to start packing mine and DS's bags and my dog-sitter is coming over today to meet the dogs. I have a 10 year old pug named Gigi who has severe anxiety problems and the only other place she can stay is my parents house but since they are going with us I had to find someone to stay here to take care of her. We tried to leave her with my inlaws last year and she almost died from a severe anxiety attack, and she knows and likes my inlaws. Poor old girl. :guilty: So this year I asked a really nice college student I have known since she was 14 to stay here and take care of Gigi and my parents' little dog Farley. :goodvibes

Oh my word - this time next week we will be on the road on our way to WDW - I am so excited!!! :cool1:
I posted this on the Resorts forum, but maybe someone here knows:
I have 2 quick ticket related questions.
1. We are checking in next week and we purchased 2 one day MYW tickets, but we are actually going to upgrade those to Fl Res Seasonal passes. Do we need to ask to have them seperately from our KTTW cards or can they be on there?
2. My mom and dad also purchased 2 one day MYW tickets on their room reservation but my dad is planning on using both of those and we are buying my mom a Fl Res 3 day hopper - will they do that? Will they put both days on my dad's KTTW card?
We had a very productive weekend. We went to Old Navy and got DH all new clothes for the trip, to the dollar store where we got DS some toys and goodies for the trip, and the Party Store where we got a black sash to use as a belt for DS's pirate costume.
I got a plain black t-shirt at Old Navy for myself and I am going to cut up an old shirt of my dad's and attempt to make it into a skull to sew on the shirt to make a authentic pirate shirt - wish me luck with that. :rotfl:
That is awesome! You are so close now!!!:banana::banana:
I know - it's surreal - I am so excited!!

Yay - only 4 more days!!! :cool1:
I took a personal day from work today because I am fighting a cold and I need rest. I also need to pack and run a few errands. I need a new pair of Teva Mush flip flops for the trip so I am hoping to find those today.
I don't think I've mentioned this before in my PTR, but my dad actually takes care of Gabe for us while we work. It is so wonderful! I feel so blessed to have Gabe get so much love and attention everyday.
I actually just went back to work F/T in March after being a SAHM and we put Gabe in daycare. A few months later my dad got laid off. :guilty: Since my dad is 62 he decided to just retire early but he wanted to postpone taking Social Security until he turns 65 so he just needed to make a little income. We offered to pay him what we were paying the daycare and viola - we had a new nanny! It is so perfect - it gives my dad something to do and Gabe adores his pop pop so much. They have such a ball together - they take a "field trip" somewhere fun everyday like the zoo or the beach. :lovestruc
When my dad was picking Gabe up this morning he suggesed a slight change to our plans. Our first day on the way to WDW DH had asked that we stop at Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then we have an early ADR that night at LTT for 4:30 so my dad suggested we skip lunch and just use snack credits instead which totally makes sense.
So, that leaves us with an extra counter service meal. We were planning on paying out of pocket for the Sci-Fi on our last day but maybe we should cancel that ADR and eat at Pizza Planet instead using that counter service credit - what do you all think? I love Sci-Fi and I wanted everyone to see it, but we've never had Pizza Planet so that may be fun too and it would save us a lot of money. Opinions? :goodvibes
I'll be back later today with pictures of my homemade pirate shirt for MNSSHP. :)

That's a tough call. I think I would be inclined to save the $$$. This is not a 'One in a Lifetime trip' and you are pretty sure you'll be back ;)
Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the shirt!
I talked to DH about it over breakfast and we decided to cancel our ADR and eat at Pizza Planet instead. That leaves more money for souvenirs. :cool1: Maybe we'll eat at Sci-Fi on our next trip. :goodvibes

It totally snuck up on me too! It's amazing how you go from months away to packing! Have you seen the reports from people there now saying it's empty? I really hope that's true for us next week too. I hope you feel better too and have fun packing - I am off to do the exact same thing actually.
DH and I just went to breakfast and then hit Gander Mountain to look for my Tevas and they were on sale for $12 - score! :dance3: Now I have everything I need for the trip. :cheer2:

I find it so funny that you took off of work to rest but went out to breakfast and shopping for sandals :rotfl2: The priorities of life right! thats great. i hope you feel better soon. Awesome that the teva's were on sale.
I also agree with the plan of canceling sci fi and going w/ pizza planet. Always good not to leave any credits unused. Extra spending money is a huge plus!!!!
I hope the crowds are low too. I was getting worried that the free dining would be too appealing and cause the parks to be super crowded.

Just don't tell my boss about breakfast and shopping. :rotfl:
Someone here did a survey of what week in Sept people were going and of the responders like 50% or something ridiculous said they were going next week - just my luck. :rolleyes1 Hopefully they'll all leave before you get there. :goodvibes
Ok, it's picture time! I've probably mentioned this before, but I work at a college in the library and teaching classes. Our library was just fully renovated and we moved in the week before the fall term started. I brought DH and DS by last Saturday to show them my new digs and I got some cute pics of DS:

Remember the Mickey necklace I got from Etsy? Well I finally restrung it last week. After a lot of deliberation I decided to just string it on 2 strands of silver beads.

And here is my pirate shirt. According to my DH it looks like a kindergartner made it. :rolleyes1 I told him it was a good thing that pirates are not known for neatness then. ;)

I am thinking of cutting the bottom of the short sleeves off too to give it a more ragged look but I haven't made a final decision on that.

Love how the necklace turned out! I think that the shirt could use some scissor work.....maybe zigzag the bottom?
I am a big fan of pizza planet. There is always next time for Sci Fi.

Yesterday ended up being a very productive day. I packed Gabe's bag and most of my clothes and did all of our laundry. Now all I need to do is pack all of our miscellaneous items like phone chargers, etc and our toiletries.
I am still fighting that cold though and I have a sore throat. I will be so sad if I end up being sick for the trip. :guilty:

Thanks! Hopefully I'll be on the mend ASAP.
OK, so it is officially not my day - first my full-time employee told me next Friday will be his last day. That leaves me here by myself a lot to look forward to after vacation (farewell lunch breaks - I'll miss you!). Filling his position will take MONTHS because the college system is so pokey.
Next I just went to the bathroom and low and behold I now have a huge pimple on my cheek! I can't even tell you the last time I had a pimple - sheesh, I'm 34. It's nice to know that right before I get my picture taken over and over at Disney one decided to sprout up and remind me that they exist. :rotfl:
All I can say is thank God it's Friday!!! :cool1:

This morning Gabe wanted to watch the Vacation Planning DVD so I put it on and he immediately started screaming "Disney World" and then they showed main street and he screamed "Castle!" - I have to admit I got a little teary eyed. I have a feeling I am going to be a big old cry baby on our trip - so many special moments - I can't wait. :goodvibes

Are you back already? I see the link to your TR in your siggy and I can't wait to check it out! :goodvibes
There is SO MUCH to do today! I am working a long day tomorrow and I won't be home until 6:00 and we leave Tuesday morning so I have to finish everything today. Here is my to do list:
- Move Gabe's carseat to the 3rd row in our minivan so the adults can have the captain's chairs and clean out the van
-finish packing my clothes, toiletries and electronics
-clean the house so it's perfect for our dog sitter who is staying here
-set up the AeroBed in Gabe's room for the dog sitter
-make directions on how to run our TV for the dog sitter
-Do a final load of laundry with some clothes I want to bring on the trip
OK, I think that's it. Fortunately my ILs are picking Gabe up for the day in a little while so I can work without a little "helper". :cutie:

well 2 days to go is still close enough to say yipee too.:yay::laughing: I guess when you did your ticker you were just anxious and gave yourself 1 less day of waiting.
Good luck getting everything done and with out a little helper should make things go extra speedy. I unfortunately could not get rid of my little helpers for the day. My parents are helping out my uncle with his italian food stand today so I am doing all the things on my check list with a few extra hands!

Well I am officially exhausted, but I got everything on my list done except for moving Gabe's carseat, so all I have left to do tomorrow is run to the drug store to grab a few things (on my lunch break) and move the carseat and pack the van tomorrow night. I am so excited! I just hope work tomorrow goes fast. :cutie:

I just realized I never finished posting the pictures from our March 2008 trip so I will do that now.
Our last night we went to the Wilderness Lodge for dinner. I officially fell in love with the Lodge that night - it is so beautiful. I definitely want to stay there sometime soon. :lovestruc
We had to wait quite a while for our ADRs that night and Gabe had a ball playing with some other kids in the lobby and we walked all over the lobby and outside to see the geyser.
