Palos sounds great! We're 1st time cruisers on Western 8/17/02. Can anyone give me more details about Palos? Thanks Donna

I have the menu on my website at www.***************** so you can drool over all the delicious offerings. In my opinion, the chocolate souffle is NOT to be missed! In addition to the items on the menu, they also give you antipasto and bread with three wonderful toppings...I could make a meal on just that. Since you will be on the 7-day, I recommend the brunch and especially the high tea too. I LOVED high tea...it was a real highlight of the trip. The teas are the leaf variety...I had chamomile and hubby had cinnamon. The scones and jam were to die for!

Barb, It sounds delicious!! I presume you have to get reservations once on board the Magic. Where do you go and can you reserve for more than one day or is done on a daily basis? Thanks Donna

Yes, you make your reservations once you are on board. Check your navigator for location and time; sometimes they take the ressies in Palo's, sometimes other places. The usually start around 1:30 I think - but check the navigator to be certain.
You can sign up for all 3 (brunch, tea and dinner) at the same time - not sure about repeat visits; I think you can do this but you have to go on a "waiting" list, as they want to try and make sure that everyone who wants gets to try.

I think it's $5 per peson for dinner, $10 for the champagne brunch, and free for high tea (you can also leave an additional gratuity if you feel that the service warrants it).

Hi all,
Is the Palo's brunch a Sunday brunch or do they have it every day? Sorry about this dumb question.

Piper the brunch is done on sea days on the Eastern itinerary (Sunday, Monday and Thursday) and I believe they do the same on the Western, with a shortened time on Sunday since it is a port day. :D

Actually I'm remembering four:
Black olive, sweet red peppers, pesto, and flavored mayo. They are soooo good...I always eat way too much and then can barely make it through dinner and dessert.
I think we might have a photo of them from our 5/25 cruise...I know we took the antipasto. We have a lot of new food pics. but haven't had time to update the website. Maybe this weekend!

We are also on that cruise and planning on eating
at Palo's - we cannot make up our mind what evening.
I'm shooting for the first formal evening - our kids
are 10 and 16 and I'm hoping the 16 yr. old will stay
in the room that night (it will cost us!) and they order
room service. It is sounding more and more like
we should start with dessert and make our way back
to the appetizer!!!! Also had the idea if we go
to Palo's formal night, that is one less night the
kids must sit in the dining room with coat/tie!
OH, I'm hoping we can meet each other during the
cruise! Won't be long! Lucy

We were fortunate to do all three..........dinner, high tea and brunch at Palo's on our last cruise. The brunch was by far the best thing we did. The food was awesome!!!!! If I could only do one.............I would BEG for that one. The dinner was excellent also.
Honestly, I could skip the tea next time. Having done several high teas in other countries.........this did not impress me. But, I just had to see for myself as most of us do.
Try to go that brunch at least. There were numerous cancellations so we could have eaten dinner there again if we had chosen too.

vacationquee, did they let you make all three at once at the same place or did you have to do each seperate and/or go to different place to make ressies for the brunch, dinner and high tea?
thx

When we cruised, they took reservations at Palo's and had a different table for each different meal.

You had to go to three different tables. However, we were with a couple in the concierge suite so they just booked a table for four at all of the sittings. Guess it helps to have friends in high places;)
I really think I could have gotten the ressies on my own though as we were one of the first groups on the ship and that was one of my goals!!!!!
She booked the meals, I booked the spa and then went straight to kids club where there was NO ONE in front of me. It was very smooth...........
Have fun!!!!

Lucy, We're very excited and can't wait. I'm trying so hard to learn as much as I can. That would be nice if we can hook up.
My DD13 is a little worried about meeting friends. My twin DS9 have each other. Palos sounds great. We're going to board early. We're coming from my parents home in Daytona so we'll drive down early A.M. and try to avoid the reservation madness. See you there . Donna

I know you will enjoy Palo's. My husband and I cruised the Magic in July 99 and July 01. On each cruise, we ate dinner twice at Palo. We had no trouble getting reservations for the second dinner. Don't miss brunch. As everyone else has posted, it's not to be missed. Our next cruise is the Wonder in July 03.
