Does everyone in the room have to be on the same dining plan? My grandson will be in a room that the adults have free dining. He will be 13 when they go. He loves his 3 meals. Afraid the snack, TS and CS will not be enough for him. I know the parents could pay cash for extra for him but wonder if it would be cheaper (if allowed) for me to upgrade him to deluxe. Thank you

I believe that everybody on the reservation needs to be on the same plan.
Remember that some of the meals and even snacks can be quite large. You can get a half chicken with sides or a double burger with fries for a single CS credit (take a look ahead of time at the menus at CS locations around the World so you know what's available where). Buffets are all you can eat. If you use a CS credit for breakfast, at least at Pop they allow you to get a yogurt instead of one of your drinks so that's even more food. If other members of your group aren't as big eaters, he'll likely end up with plenty of leftovers from everybody else's meals as well, or others will share meals resulting in extra credits that can be used for him.
Don't forget that your entire group will likely want to move around together. I'm not so sure everybody else will want to sit down and wait around while one person eats a meal.

Every time I go I think that regular dining won't be enough food--It ends up MORE then enough. Next trips we are doing the regular DDP and then in September we are doing the deluxe (we had a few 2 credit places we wanted to try so it made sense). I think he'll be fine with the food he gets on the regular plan. All guests in the same party must be on the same plan. She can purchase a few snacks OOP of they feel he gets hungry between meals.

You can't upgrade just one person on a reservation - you'd have to upgrade everybody.
To upgrade free dining to deluxe costs $32 per adult per night and $10 per child per night.
