I have ordered the 3M Gold tape from framing supplies in the past. I found this site and the tape is a lot cheaper. Has anyone ordered this tape or used this company?

It looks like they have if you look at the ATG thread that's gone 3 pages! I'll probably try them next. I've been using framing supplies.

I keep forgetting that our search function works now. I'll check it out. Thanks!

Are they really hard to use??

I picked up the glue glider pro at the scrap store the other day (shhhh, don't tell Lisa!). It's smaller then the ATG, I have tiny hands so I thought the ATG might be too much. I never did get a chance to use Linda's.

I have petite hands/fingers. I have issues with carpal tunnel at times. The ATG is a dream. It goes on like butter...I tell ya' melted buttah.

Seriously I have had mine for about 2 years and am in such a panic over losing it potentially - I have thought about getting a 2nd one for - just in case.

It saves so much money and I feel like I can use it freely because the refills aren't expensive.

Good to know, Thanks Susie!

I hate pestering Lisa at 2 am if I run out of tape so I like to have a few back up adhesives if I run out of CM tape.

Buffy, I wouldn't use anything else. It works so easily and you do get used to the size the gun. I am small and that doesn't present an issue for me. I also have hand problems, etc, so it helps to use this. The cost is also another issue why I wouldn't use any other adhesive. The long rolls last a long time.

I've only ordered throught Framingsupplies.com, but have seen this other store advertised. Just wondering if it's he same 3M tape or a subsitute. The price is better. Plus, it would be nice not to have to pay Overnight mail fees for shipping of a bunch of tape! LOL!! Though, I know the room-sized wad of bubble wrap is fun to play with when you're unwrapping it!

I've got tiny hands too. I'm only 5' tall, so you can imagine, and I've never had any problems handling the ATG. I have more problems with the Crop-a-dile.

I'm wondering if it is the same tape too. I know I read somewhere that some people were having issues with the winding up of the tape. I love the ATG gun and even with the difference in prices -- the framing supplies price still save me money.

The ATG gun is not heavy at all -- I was suprised the first time I picked it up - -I expected it to be heavier.

That's why I mentioned it. The photo shows another brand of tape and they don't mention the 3M brand.

I just received an order of 10 rolls last month from Framingsupplies, so I don't need any soon. I will wait to see what others report with this company.

I ordered a case of tape from findtape.com and it arrived within 2 days. Great service!

It is NOT the 3M tape. Basically, it is a generic. It is still acid-free and there is no discernable difference in using it. I've only been using it a couple of weeks, but disneynut14 has been using it for several months and she vouched for its quality.

So no slipping off the roll?

And a whole case? 144 rolls? I was considering buying the case, but thought maybe that was going just a little bit too far, but ...maybe it is not unreasonable after all!

No slipping off the roll. I think that was more likely to happen with the 3M tape as there were several bad batches out there.

I should have clarified - I bought a case, but I split it 5 ways with my fellow MA scrappers. It would take me a long time to go through 144 on my own!

Well, that's good news. Thanks for updating, NEE. I will give it a try the next time I order (which will be a while).

Alright, so I guess I'm crazy. I think that would be about a five year supply. So, yes, excessive. I am going to try them. I need to order very soon. Thanks for the advice.

Hmmmm, I really might need to borrow someone's ATG.
I used the Glue glider today and really like the way it handles, very comfy.

Do any of you find that on the ATG if you hold it tilted at a slight angle does it mess up the adhesive?
I tend to hold things off to the side, not flat on the paper, and the adhesive sometimes lifts off on one side.

I think I understand what you mean..you need to hold the gun flat on the paper. You must remember to let go of the trigger when you are done and then lift it off the paper. It is not hard to learn to use, it is easy to load...you can't help but love the ATG -- it will pay for itself very quickly.

yes, if you hold it tilted, the tape in the upside just stays on the roll - but if you're like me, you can pull it off with your fingers and put it where you want it.

Also, if you want to tape something like ribbon that's a little narrower than the tape, once you put the ribbon down on the page, it's possible to 'roll off' the excess tape with your finger. I actually prefer that method to something narrower, because then I'm sure I've adhesive all the way to the edge of the ribbon.

Try as i may, i have not gotten the hang of the ATG. The tape sticks, or it double rolls etc... do until i can get someone to demonstrate the proper use - (i have watched the demo on youtube), I'll just stick with my CM taperunner.
I'll bet it will be great once i learn how to use it.

My order arrived a couple of days ago.

I love it Each roll is sealed in cellophane.

Very sticky.

I must be doing something wrong, sometimes I go through 3 rolls a day on the weekends.

Just wondering....Did you compare the length of the 3M tape vs. this tape? Are they the same length or is this shorter? That might also explain the price difference.

Or, are you just using it a lot...LOL!! I've used up that much in a weekend of the regular 3M if I was doing a lot of swaps (not 3 a day, though)!
