I'm singing ten minutes ago from Cinderella i was fine singing it before i went to the auudition work shop saturday but after that i cant seem to sing it well at all.
I have not gone to an audition in a couple years last time it was for 101 dallmations and i got a call back and i got cast. i played a poodle

Sometimes the audition for singing is more about the additude than the technique. Hopefully the song is matching the character that you are trying out for. Get into character for the song and really ham it up. Good luck!

So true!
I did a lot of youth musical theatre when I was younger, and although my singing is passable, I was much better at the acting/dancing side. Just get into the character of the song, sing it with as much confidence as you can muster, and give it your best try.
What play is it? Might give us a few clues. ;)
Oh and Meryl Streep is a very famous actress, known better at the moment for her role as the mother in Mama Mia.:thumbsup2

Don't be nervous, auditioning is about all three aspects and you don't need to be the best at all 3
I can't dance but can sing and act well and i have starred in many of my high school plays, Another very talented theater person could not Sing at all and because he was a great dancer and actor he earned a huge roll in the play don't stress every thing seams to work out and even if you don't get the lead you will still have fun and bring joy to other people.
Kinda Like Disney
You don't need to be Mickey To make people laugh or to bring a smile to someone's face.

I wish to echo the sentiment that it isn't always about vocal quality and technique. Quite often it is about how well you are able to actually sell and perform a song.
I've often cast actors (I'm a actor/singer director myself) that are able to really bring forward the intent of a piece rather than someone who simply sounds pretty.
Break a leg though...please let us know how it turns out!

streep is one of the most famous actresses of all time. She was recently in Mama Mia as Donna, the mom, and will soon be in Julia and Julie, as Julia childs.

It's okay. I thought The OJs had to do with a certain glove wearer of the same name, and apparently that's bad. :confused3
Anyway, you're going to do great. Remember, it's mind over matter. As a high school drama veteran, believe me, if this is the scariest thing you go through, you will be the luckiest girl alive. :thumbsup2

Good luck with your audition. Take that nervous energy and channel it into energy for the stage. Knock 'em dead! We're all behind you. :thumbsup2
