Hi, been visiting the dis site and this issue moved me to share here. I have been diagnosed with both these heart electrical problems over the last 4 years.
I have had successful procedures for both and all heart irregularities have stopped. The Atrial fib procedure is new and in the Chicago area there is a great doctor group that has given me my life back minus all the meds. Just wanted to shared the fact that there is hope in modern medicine.

So what's the procedure?...My son had an atrial fib incident back in March..and he's on medication. He's only 28 and doesn't want to be on cardiac meds so early in his life. He's got an appt. end of the month with his cardiologist, and he's going to see about coming off the meds. He has been fine since taking them, so hesitant to stop..but again, doesn't want to be on medication if at all avoidable.

The procedure is called an ablastion(not sure if spelled correct)
The doctors doing it are Electrophysiologist and this is their speciality. The procedure worked for me and now i am off most of the meds and not had an incident since the procedure was done at the end of March. If you are in the chicago area i can give you their names.

Ablation is a rather standard and accepted procedure for A fib and flutter.

THe procedure for a-fib is fairly new-less than 2 years old and it is the best thing to stop the problem,.
