When I try to go around the Dis, particularly the Podcast board, I get server busy messages when I am using Firefox. It is working OK when I am on Safari. Anyone else having this problem?

I was having issues with firefox a couple of weeks ago and I uninstalled and reinstalled and that seemed to fix the problems I was experiencing. It would just lock up with no rhyme or reason.

If I uninstall it, I will lose all my bookmarks, right? Is there a way to save them?

Yes, I have my bookmarks saved, which has saved me a few times.

I was able to reinstall without losing my bookmarks.
I am assuming you are on your Mac.
When you download the new installer, you basically drag & drop the new version on your apps folder, it will ask you to overwrite the old file as it does this it will relink with your bookmarks which are actually in your system library.

I haven't had an endemic problems with Firefox (which I apparently live in). I occasionally see lighttpd errors when things appear to be really slow, but not a lot lately.
If you are seeing things repeatedly in Firefox that you are not seeing in another browser, I'd clear the cache, then exit and restart.
Firefox 3.5 works well, but you may need to explicitly go to Help/Check Updates to get it to update. I don't know if it will do it like it does for the minor updates.
Uninstall/reinstall shouldn't lose bookmarks, but I wouldn't swear on it. Updating will not affect them.
