Disney Lyric Swap ~ TIME TO MAIL!

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to the Disney/Pixar Lyric Swap!
Signups are the 13th of August with a due date of October 20th to me.
I will close this on Monday, August 17th. Since this is a smaller swap I hope that gives everyone enough time to make their selections. I hope that you will have fun with this swap.

Group Limits:
Since this is a small swap I ask that during the first 12 hours that this is open that you only choose 3 groups to give everyone who would like to play a chance to get the group they would like also. After the first 12 hours you may choose as many groups as you like.
Newbies are welcome to join us. I will ask newbies to limit themselves to 2 groups UNLESS you have a sponsor, because I dont know everyone.
Example: I dont know AWM because I havnt been in any of her swaps but Rebecca does and AWM really wants 3 groups. If Rebecca sponsors her I will let AWM have 3 groups. Does this make sense?

And I will be limiting this to 10 groups this time around as I am a new hostess!:goodvibes

Here are a few of the details/requirements:

Disney/Pixar Lyrics only
Font size, preferably 12 points, no smaller than 10 points.
Double matted after the lyrics, total 3 pieces of paper( I would let creativity override this, depending upon what you do)
Embellished twice with the usually menu choices
No smaller than 3x4, no larger than 5x7
Your choice of the part of the song as long as that part is recognizable by everyone (verse 1, 2, chorus, verse 2 and chorus. etc)
Group size, 8 players
At this time I am leaving the groups at 7 so that if one fills then I will open another in that category.


CREATIVITY
I would like all of you to have the freedom of creativity. You are not just limited to a photomat 4x6 size. If you choose "Mickey Mouse March" and you think it looks cute on a MM head shape please feel free to do that. I just ask that you try to keep within the size requirement. (Very Happy Unbirthday on a birthday cake would be cute, too!)

Check In~ Oct 1st, last day to request Angels
Mail Date~ This is the date you need to have mailed to me by ~Oct 13th~
Due Date~ Oct 20th, I should have recieved everything by then
I am a Mom of 2 very active kids and understand if things go haywire in your life. If problems arise, please just be honest and upfront with me and I will do my best to work out anything with anyone.


Packaging Instructions
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS THROUGH CAREFULLY. If you are unable to package and label as follows, I respectfully ask that you do not sign up for this swap. Items that are not packaged and labeled properly are an added burden to the hostess; it really slows down the sorting process and increases the chances of you not getting back the pieces you are entitled to.

Place each set of items in a Ziploc bag that is able to close. Label the bag with your DISname, name and group info:

Place the 8 individual bags inside a gallon size or larger bag. NO SMALLER. Although your items may fit in a quart size bag, the pieces you get back may not fit in a small bag. Label the outer bag also. The little paper slips that some of you use are fine. I appreciate your attention to the details here.

Please include a return address label -- either a USPS priority mail label that you have addressed, or the little ones you would put on envelope. (This cuts down on errors.)

Mailing: You may send to me, by any method you choose unless you are mailing after October 13th [note this is before the mail by date]. Then, you must mail Priority WITH Delivery Confirmation. I prefer to send to you using flat rate boxes/envelopes. Please include enough postage in your package for return shipping. The rates are: Standard box – $10.35, Large - $13.95. I won’t require Delivery Confirmation, UNLESS you are sending to me AFTER October 13th. If you want your items shipped to you with DC, please include the $.70, and a filled out slip. I will not mail the items back with delivery confirmation unless you include the $.70. And I am not responsible to for postal errors.

DO NOT include clik-it/ship-it postage. I will not be able to use it since it is only good on the day it was printed, and from the location it was printed.


I'm hopefully not including too much info or leaving anything out.

Any thoughts or opinions or possible groupings that you would like to see, I'm open for all suggestions.

I like your group listing! To tell you the truth, I've never paid much attention to lyrics and have never used them on any of my pages. But, I will branch myself out and join 2 or 3 of your groups. I've picked 3 and now just need to go find some lyrics that fit in them!!!

As much as I would love to join, this time frame should be smack dab in the middle of our "house hunt/moving" window. We haven't found anything yet, we've only been out looking 3 times, although we have one very good possibility. We want to have closed on something by mid-Oct. But if we get something quickly, it's possible that I might be able to be a last minute angel. Or my stuff could still be all packed up.

It's interesting how we all like things different ways. I actually prefer the small groups of 4 (but larger groups don't stop me from joining in!:goodvibes). I love the creating process, but not the assembly part. Maybe I have a short attention span because I get bored after putting together 4 sets of the same thing!!!!:rotfl:

I'm trying to think if there is any other sets anyone would be interested in or if I covered it all.
DIT~ I like the different size groups too. Ive done everything from 2 to 12
(countries and calendars). For full page I prefer 4. You say you like the design. I like the assembly! Im a very methodical person.
Hope~ I understand why you cant join us. I hate moving and told DH that if he ever plans on moving that he will have to do it all, cuz Im not moving. Either that or he can tell the new buyers that I come with the house!:lmao:

Yup, that's what I like about the DIS swapping groups-- there are a wide variety of Swaps with a wide variety of requirements. Something perfect for everyone! :cloud9: I'm very happy that each swap has it's own "character and tone" instead of one strict set of rules. Great job Hostesses! :thumbsup2

Sign ups will open around 12:00pm AZ time (its now 8:05 pm as I write this).
This works better for my DH as he will be helping me set this up.
I will open with 7 initial groups and if any fill then I will open another group for that theme to max out at 10 groups.
If any of this is wrong or incorrect I ask my swap sisters not to hesitate to let me know and make suggestions.

I think the confusion is that you forgot to put the Parks as a group in your list.:goodvibes It might not hurt to put (rides, parades, etc.) after it though.

So, the requirement for this swap is just to do the lyrics, no other element?

Im still thinking on how to word things but I was thinking this is along the lines of the old quote swap.
Lyrics only but you can put "A very Happy Unbirthday" maybe on a birthday cake shape or "Mickey Mouse March" on a Mickey head. It doesnt need to be limited to a 4x6 photomat. If you want it that way, fine too, but the creativity is up to the individual as always.

It's up to you AR, but I would group the animated and non-animated together. The concern is that since the groups are 8 to a group, it might be harder to fill them if they are separate. Or, you could list them separately and then if they don't fill combine. But, it's not my swap, it's just a suggestion.:goodvibes

Rita, what I usually do is go to another swap and copy the mailing info and anything else I need and just paste it in my swap. Much easier than typing all that info over again! Then, I just change whatever info needs changing.

For highlighting in color, just select the words you want highlighted and then lick on the arrow next to the big A above that has a black line under it and choose your color.

Good morning, good morning to you" or there's the "The most magical place on earth is here" music. It's pretty short and sweet, but it gives me goosebumps when I hear it for the first time each trip. There's also "casey junior's coming down the tracks." Would anyone have any use for these songs? I love the park opening but maybe no one else does. :confused3

It should be a recognizable piece of the song but it does not need to be the whole thing.

A little about myself: I've been to Disney World 4 times and am going back for the 5th time in October. It will also be my first time going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I'm from NJ so I have never been to Disneyland, but hope to go out there at least once in my life. I'm only 19-years-old so I have my whole life to get out to California. It's my dream to be able to go to each Disney park in the world.

Hi! You'll love the Halloween Party -- the atmosphere is magic. Everyone is dressed up so cool. You can really interact with the characters at the dance parties. They are out there doing line dances, etc. The only think that ever disappointed me was the candy at the TOT areas -- I always thought they should have disney shaped stuff. :confused3

Back to scrapping -- don't be afraid to ask questions. I started swapping here in January and have had a great time and a great experience. It's lots of fun seeing all the ideas everyone has.

My second home is Disneyland and I have an annual pass although I dont go as often as I would like. My DH on the other hand, his second home is the Magic and next year we will be going on our 4th cruise.

M22P~ does MNSSHP work the same as DCA? Do you go into the park and they give you a bag and they have stations set up around the park?
We've only been once and got so much candy that we almost couldnt get it all home because we flew that time. We did leave some of the stuff for the maids.
Do they give you healthy snacks too?

We have gone five times, but the last time was 3 years ago -- so you have been warned that this answer could be old and out of date!

And this will make it more confusing - each year was different! The first time all we got were Nestle Crunch Bars -- at every station! The last few times we went each candy TOT station had a different kind of candy. So it was more of a treasure hunt! I think they were mini candy bars and they gave about two at each station. So it really depends on how many stations you hit and how many times you repeat. There are 13 stations all together and the ones on the path between the railroad (Toontown) and Tomorrowland gave out more (about 4). And I never saw a healthy snack.

Recent party reports say that if you want a healthy snack they will give you raisins- although many were not happy with those. I know at the Pirate and Princess Party some of the stations had necklaces, some chocolate coins, and some raisins.

AR, you can get the smilies if you edit in the Go Advanced setting like you do when you change the title of your thread.

For color changing, here's what you do:
Put your cursor at the beginning of what you want to highlight

Hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse to highlight all that you want to highlight and then lift your finger off the mouse button

At the top of the message box, you will see an A next to the box that says Sizes.

Click on the arrow next to the A and choose whatever color you want.

Hope that helps.

The easiest thing to do is to delete the sections of the lines in brackets [] - that is the part that is messed up and then once they are not there you can work on coloring them again. It is easy to mess up- I normally do at least 1 time while I am updating things.

OK, I've thought about this all weekend and I think I need to ask for an angel for this swap. With my computer not working and not being sure when it's going to be in the budget to get it fixed, I don't think I can do this any other way. I hope I'm not disappointing or making it hard for you all but I need to ask sooner rather than waiting until the last minute. I've only got access to a working computer with internet access for a short time on Fridays and I just can't see getting it done that way.

Susan, sounds great. You do not need to use title as long as the song is recognizable. I havnt used a title once but there's something in the lyrics or element that lets you know (Tiki tiki tiki, etc)
