Hi everyone just got back from my 18 day Honeymoon in the world. :thumbsup2I am attempting my first dining review after drooling over everyone else's since finding the DIS 2 years ago.

Just a little background... My DH and I got married on June 6th and left for our Disneymoon on June 28th- July 15th. This was our first time together staying on property and on the DDP. Being there for 18 days, we really underestimated how much food the DDP would give us:sick:... and not to mention that we gained a good amount of weight, thanks Mickey!!! All in all it was worth it cuz the food once again was amazing!!!

Here's the cast...

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/meandkev.jpg
This is a picture from our wedding!!

Me... minniedreamer: I am a 22 year old college student from NC, who has been a Huge DISNEY fan since birth, and who cries when we have to come back home. I am also the Disney planner for this trip. Normally DH and I plan trips together but I took more credit for this one. My favorite character is Minnie Mouse because she's so cute and she was the inspiration for our puppies name (picture provided at bottom). Can't get enough of DISNEY!!!

DH... A 23 year old Customer Service Rep. and long time disney lover as well. On our first trip together in June 2007 he proposed to me in the Castle at CRT for dinner, I will never forget it.:wizard: His Favorite character is BELLE!!! He would have married her if she said yes!! I'm ok with it cuz I got him in the long run!!

Minnie... Our 2 year old yorkie poo who is as crazy as stitch but as sweet as Minnie Mouse. We would love to bring her along on our trips, yet Disney won't let puppies in the park, shame. But she is a part of the cast because she is our baby.

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080001.jpg

Food Preferences:

Me: Love a good piece of chicken and steak, and don't really shy away from what I like. Also chocolate lover!!!!

DH: More adventurous and tried new things he has never had before but also loves his steak, mashed potatoes and beer!! More of an appetizer lover than dessert lover!!

Okay so we left for our long journey ride to the fantasy World at 12:30 am on Sun June 28th. Yes it was my honeymoon and we still drove to Disney despite the fact that I wanted to fly. DH always wants to have a car to drive around bc he doesn't like to wait for Disney transportation (enough though we have never tried it, he is just impatient). Also who would have known that all the situations that happened with the disney transportation, would have happened while we were on vacation:sad2:, so it was good we brought the car.

Anywho on our second gas stop, we stopped for some breakfast at McD's. I don't remember what state it was in exactly but typical breakfast stop.Note we ate it in the car to continue truckin to Disney.

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080027.jpg
DH got a SEC McGriddle (which he always loves), a hashbrown, and an OJ!

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080028.jpg
I had an Egg and Cheese biscuit, hashbrown, and a Coke as well!!
**Note: every time you see my breakfast meals there will never be any meat because I hate bacon and sausage, I also don't eat breakfast ham!! Picky, I know!! :confused3

Overall : Good meal, enough to satisfy us til we entered the World!!

Rating: 9 1/2... its fast food

Finally at 10:05 am we crossed onto Disney property!!! :dance3:Knowing that we wouldn't be able to check in at Beach Club for a while, we headed to DTD to wander and eat at our favorite counter service... EOS!!!!!:worship:

Also because we had not checked in yet this was OPP so we just got sandwiches.

My sandwich is on the LEFT and DH is on the RIGHT!!!

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080052.jpg

LEFT.....I had the All Original which was so good. I wasn't sure first because of the cranberries and ranch mix but boy was i wrong, I thought they were a good pair.

RIGHT.....He got the Original and when I asked how it was he said "Always a 10!!"

Overall: Love EOS , enough said. Also there wasn't a line because it was early and the service was fast. No complaints

Rating: 10!!!!!.

Ok so after we checked into the beautiful Beach Club , relaxed and swam in Storm Along Bay (loved the pool!!!!), we were so ready for dinner. We made our way to the Polynesian for the first time during the trip. We went so many times to Poly, you could have thought that that was the resort we were staying at.

Our ressie was for 8:10 pm. We checked in at 7:50 and were handed a pager , but not too many people were waiting. We decided to get a drink at the TAMBU Lounge and here's what we got.......

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080110.jpg
DH got a Jack and Coke and liked it.:thumbsup2

I got the infamous Lapu Lapu. I thought that it was good it was just a lot for me. It took me the entire meal to finish it and i like to finish drinks by the time i finish my entree before i get the dessert.

Overall: The bartender was nice he just took a while to get to us because he talked to all the customers, (which there wasn't that many) for a long time each. Note the lapu lapu is very expessive and i probably wouldn't get another any time soon. sorry :confused3

Rating: 8 1/2

We waited at the Tambu Lounge for about 10 minutes when the buzzer went off and we were seated for dinner at ...

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080122.jpg
another pic of the apps

Sorry no pictures of the skewers and dessert i forgot bc i was only thinking 'where am i going to put these in my belly?'

Overall: The food was amazing and lived up to all of my expectations!!! All the meat was cooked perfectly and tender. I just disn't eat the shrimp bc i don't like them:sick: but DH ate all the ones on his plate and the ones put on mine!!He loved them!!The vegies were crisp and seasoned nicely. Lo mein was very good as well. The dessert was oh so sweet and delectable. A great meal overall!!!!!
The service from our waitor was just mediocre but the other server who brought out the apps and dessert was very nice and kept checking to see if we were doing ok.

I live in NC, too, in the Raleigh area. We're driving down in September. Do you mind me asking where you live and how long your drive was? We're leaving at midnight and I want to made a late breakfast/early lunch upon arrival.

Thanks!

We live in the Triad and it took us 9 hrs 15 min to get there. On the way to Disney we left at midnight and on our way back to NC we left at 11:30 am and it still took us around the time. 95 really never has too much traffic ( only in the south) so it was smooth sailing. You can definitely get an early breakfast in.

Congratulations! Lucky you to be able to stay that long and you are already going back, wish I could do that if I could leave my kids at home. Waiting to read more.

The reason we are able to go twice is bc my DH has lots of vaca days from work and im still in college. But, im sure as soon as i get a big girl job, these days will be over!!! Thanks for tuning in!!

Great dinner at 'Ohana - I would love to eat there one day.

This was by choice but we also knew that we were doing a lot of dining this trip and would need to do OPP, so it wasn't a big deal for us.

I was wondering the same thing. Also how many meals did you pay for OOP?
I'm doing deluxe when we go in August. Figured since I don't like the CS, I would rather have a TS breakfast every day as well as the 2TS places.

I'm not sure of how many CS we did OPP but we did 6 TS OPP(i think), because we did a lot of signature restuarants. We thought about deluxe but knew it would be too much food for us, so we were up for paying OPP.

Ok so I was drooling just at the title of your review! You guys are too cute and congrats!

Thanks for joining especially because i have definitely drooled over your reviews!!

The food looks good. That is what I am worrying about, where to put the food? I am not eating there this time but probably next. Seems like service isn't that great any where at Disney any more.

Well actually we only had service issues one other time, everything else was great!! it was just a shame that this happened at our first TS. oh well.

Congrats on your marriage.

So DH and I woke up early to do EMH at Hollywood Studios so we could ride TSM ( one of our FAV rides!!!) and some of our other favorite rides. This was our very first EMH and it was crazier than we ever thought it would be. We really weren't expecting to wait in lines but that was not the case. So we got a FP for TSM bc the wait was already long and then waited a short time for TOT and RRC. After we rode the rides, and walked around One man's dream we decided to do the prince Caspian (ride?). Side note: this was stupid and a waste of time, it was about the behind the scenes and making of the movie but it was boring and you had to stand the entire time. I will never be doing that one again, it was not that interesting. So after that we had a little time to kill, so we saw that Pluto and Goofy were around. We took pictures with them and then it did what Florida does best... It POURED, shocker. I had forgotten to bring the umbrella (cuz I don't do ponchos:confused3), but luckly we were close to shelter bc i also don't like to get wet. So we waited under Mickey's hat until it slowed down, which it did after only 5 min.

We then walked our way to 50's Prime Time Cafe, which was a new dining experience to us this year.:cloud9:

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080256.jpg

*Note we were not on the DDP for this one so we got an appetizer... Onion rings, which were so crispy and FILLING!!!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080254.jpg
Right after we finished with our O rings our entrees came out... I got Cousin Eric's Chicken sandwich. It was good, a typical grilled chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce on it and fries. I was not able to finish it bc it was a huge piece.
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080257.jpg
DH got Aunt Liz's Fried chicken!! This was such a huge portion but DH finished it like a trooper, i would not have been able to do it! The chicken was so juicy and tender I wish i had gotten that for my entree!! DH also said that the vegies were good and the mashed tators were delicous. He was sure to finish everything on his plate bc he didn't want to be called out. He doesn't really like to have attention brought to him.
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080258.jpg
We looked at the dessert menu ( so cute) but had no more room left in our guts for dessert!:sad2:
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080259.jpg

Overall: Loved it all. Service was great. Atmosphere great. Decor so cute. Food yummy, but huge portions. All in all this was a great dining experience. I really enjoyed the theme and thank goodness DH or i didn't get called out!!We were in and out in 40 min but not rushed at all. We were very satisfied with everything. Definitely a keeper!

Great reviews! you and your hubby are absolutely adorable! DH and I honeymooned at WDW in 2003. Ok so after DH and I finished at 50's, we went back to Beach Club for some R & R before returning to Animal Kingdom for some evening EMH!! :cool1:As soon as we got there we just had to ride the safari bc they stop having tours at 7:30. We had a ADR for 6:15pm for Yak and Yeti so we knew we could only go on the safari before dinner. After a trip through Harambe we made our way to Asia for a good meal.

This was our second time to Yak and Yeti and we were very excited to go again. We arrived at 6:15 and were seated within 5 min. :thumbsup2We were seated this time down stairs in the first room on the left. Our waitor's name was Adam and he was a very nice guy, very entertaining:rotfl:. So here we go...
The menu!!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080313.jpg
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080314.jpg
Yummy drinks... from left to right... Water, Yak Attack, Coke, and a Safari Amber Beer. I had the Yak Attack and a coke ( this is a theme for me of getting a coke and an alcholic beverage bc you get a non-alcholic bev with the DDP and i was sure to use it). The Yak Attack was super super yummy and sweet just the way i like my drinks. DH had the safari amber and loved every sip. I agree it was a good beer, a little different than the typical tasting beer. A great start so far!!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080318.jpg
Onto the entrees...I had the oh so heavenly Baby Back Ribs!!!! OMG they literally fell off the bone... they were so tender and full of flavor. The rice was a wonderful touch but i didn't finish that because i wanted to finish the ribs. I couldn't finish my ribs though bc once again, HUGE portion!!! I tried my hardest though!!!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080319.jpg
DH had the Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp!! Such a nice presentation with some great flavor. DH raved about this meal and said its definitely towards the top of his list for favorite meals at a 1 credit TS!!! He was sad when that plate was empty, i'm sure he could have had another plate if they'd let him!!! I only had a bite of the steak bc i dont like shrimp but the steak was amazing!!!!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080320.jpg
For dessert we had the Brownie for 2, which counts for 2 desserts. This was fine with us bc we were pretty full from our entrees and it was also a HUGE portion!! So rich and yummy!!! :worship::worship:Chocolate lovers all around would love love love this!!! *NOTE: sorry this isn't a pic right after we recieved it, :confused3I kind of forgot to originally take a pic but i still think it looks yummo!!

Overall: Once again a great meal all around!! Food was hot and absolutely delicous. Service was great. Atmosphere, i love the decor. Despite some of the other reviews about this restuarant, i have nothing but great things to say about it. Like i said this was our second time going and both times were outstanding, this is a keeper for us!!

First of all thanks for everyone who is still tuning in. :cool1:You all better snap your bibs into place because im going to try and wiz through these reviews before i leave for the world again on friday:surfweb:, but feel free to endulge all you want, so here we go.

After we finished up at Y & Y we rode a few more rides then headed back to Beach Club. After a little night swim:cloud9: DH decided he was hungry again so we decided to down to the little marketplace by the lobby. They have pre-made sandwiches that they heat up and add condiments to them. You can use this as a QS.

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080345.jpg

DH got the turkey one with i think bacon on it and said it was okay. I had the ham with swiss that came with pesto mayo, disgusting:sick:. I took 2 bites and that was enough for me. We also got 2 choc chip cookies for our dessert and they were good, typical cookies.
This was the last time we got food from here.

WARNING: Beware where you eat late at night, you can definitely tell what is fresh and what is not!!

Overall: bad sandwiches, not a good way to end the night!!:sad2:

Rating:4, the cookies saved it!

Okay so this morning was to be an easy one, a stroll down main st., a ride on buzz, BTMR, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Snow White and meeting the Princesses and Fairies ( Loved this btw). once we finished our stroll we were hungry and decided to get some lunch at Casey's Corner. This is always a QS fav, nothing like a good ole american hot dog.

Sorry no pictures, i think i forgot!

Anywho both DH and I each got the ALL beef hot dog meal, which comes with a hot dog and fries. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I topped mine with mustard and onions and it just hit the spot, while DH chose mustard and sauerkraut, which he could bathe in if allowed!! For dessert I got the brownie and DH got cracker jacks both good.

~side note~ :idea:be sure to go to the lines towards the sides of the restuarant bc they are always shorter and faster. We never waited more than 2 min while the other lines were much much longer.

Overall: Good fast service with great food. Everything is always fresh and hot!! Only issue i have is that the bun has just too much bread for my liking. Just a personal preference though .

onto snacks from the CONFECTIONARY!!!

who doesnt love a good sweet snack??? DH and I would own a sweet shop if we could so we always have to limit ourselves. So on this trip to the confectionary we said we could only get one thing each:

I got this masterpiece!!! caramel apples are on my top 5 list of favorite foods but i only get them on special occasions and so i was excited to have one again!! :cool1: the best part was that i was able to eat one in one sitting... this is a first for me bc normally it takes more than that to finish it so i was proud of myself!!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080347.jpg
DH had some cotton candy which he loves, loves, loves!! :worship:he got this a few more times this trip and for the same reason why i get caramel apples!!! we love our sweets!

CORAL REEF
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080372.jpg

So after a relaxing morning at Magic Kingdom we went back to BC for a short nap then made our way to our backyard (literally) EPCOT. We grabbed some fastpasses first then went over to eat some place we love, coral reef.:thumbsup2 Our ADR was at 6:55pm and we arrived at 6:50. We were handed a pager and sat for like 2 min before it went off. We were hoping for the bottom level again bc last year when we went we were seated on the bottom right next to the glass, however no luck this year.:sad1: Not only were we seated at the top level but we were all the way on the other side from where you enter and against the wall... not too magical at all.

Our waitor was really nice and i think felt bad for us bc of the seat we got bc we were celebrating our honeymoon. Anywho onto the food....
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080374.jpg
here's the menu... note: I wanted to do a personalized menu for DH but was depressed to find out that they dont do that anymore!?!:sad1:
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080375.jpg
yummy drinks... DH got a Yuengling beer and I had a very refreshing Pina Colada, and oh yeah 2 cokes.

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080382.jpg
DH had the blackened catfish and drooled all over it!! says it was one of his favorite dishes out of the whole trip!! :cool1:I wasnt a big fan but i dont like seafood!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080384.jpg
and for dessert...DH had the Chocolate Wave and devoured it!!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080383.jpg
I had the Baileys and Jack Daniels Mousse, a different choice for me and it was totally worth it... so yummy

Overall: So even though we weren't seated in a good location the service and food was outstanding so it was all in all a great dining experience!! We will definitely continue to come here because everything is so yummy and we love the tanks, it is different than just any other restuarant!!

So today we were supposed to do the Photopass photoshoot at Poly but woke up to pouring rain. So we cancelled that sucker for another sunny day. Instead we walked around BC, played in the arcade and then decided to get lunch at Beaches n Cream. We were so excited for this one bc last year we just had dessert:worship: and wanted to try a real meal. We got there at a little after noon ( note: they open at noon, which i thought was a little late:confused3). Unfortunately no booth for us, just a small table in the corner, no biggie.
So here we go....

DH had the cheeseburger and added a mickey, always a nice touch!!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080493.jpg
Then for dessert we went to the "to go" side of B&C and got some mint choc chip and vanilla ice cream and used our snack credits bc we pd OPP for lunch.

After lunch we went to the pool and i took nap poolside:cloud9:!! then we went back to the room to get ready for Yachtsman Steakhouse! So convienent to just be able to walk downstairs and around the resort to go to dinner!! We had an ADR for 5:40 and arrived on time. We were told to take a seat in the lounge until our table was ready, we waited btw 5 and 10min and then were seated in a perfect spot by the windows overlooking the pool. However it was a little strange why we had to wait bc there was no one in the restuarant, they definitely want people to purchase drinks.

Anywho onto the reviews...

Here's the meat room to the left right after you enter the restuarant, a little creepy.

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080504.jpg

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080506.jpg

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080505.jpg

http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080507.jpg
I had the Trio of choc:thumbsup2. these were great but i didnt like the expresso one but i think thats bc i dont drink that stuff, but the peanut butter one was to die for... it was like having a reeses peanut butter cup!!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080508.jpg
DH had the Creme Brulee and said 'awesome' !!!
http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv245/minniedreamer/2009_071620080509.jpg

Overall: So we used the dining plan for this one and just pd OPP for the truffle mac and cheese and the beverages. This meal was outstanding, and i would recommend this for anyone wanting a good steak. Service was good, atmosphere was good and quiet and the food was out of this world!!! Cowboy steak is actually a Rib-Eye. It usually has the bone in, but can be served as boneless as well. It has a lot of marbling. (fatty to some)

I love rib-eye but never heard it called a cowboy steak. Learn something new every day. Thank you.

Wow Yachtsman looks awesome. I agree about the espresso thing on the choc. trio. I don't like anything coffee tasting. love the smell if coffee - hate the taste. staying at bc so thanks for the tip about marketplace

Just joining in! OMG, I am drooling and my tummy is rumbling. We will go to 50s PTC in Nov, and I think I might need to get that fried chicken. I LOVE Y&Y ~~ those ribs! And your cowboy steak from Yachtsman -- that put me over the edge. YUUUUUUUUUM!!!

Congratulations! Your pics are so good and the food looks sooo yummy. I want some. Did you get anything "magical" or "free" when you were at Disneyworld, besides some dessert?

Glad to hear you liked the Yachtsmen Steakhouse. It was the first restaurant my DW and I did on our honeymoon 11 years ago and we enjoyed it just as much. We plan on going back there in Nov on our 11th anniversary, this time we’ll have our kids with us. Congratulations on your wedding and best wishes!!!!!
