We just returned from our three week vacation -16 nights at Disney and 4 nights at Hilton Head Island.
We had a great time eating our way through Disney!
Sorry no pictures but hopefully the review will help some of you.
The cast includes: me (the planner), dh (will eat anything), dd1 (11 years old so counts as a Disney adult, but would live on chicken fingers). We used her ts credits for buffets but paid oop for her at other restaurants, off the kids menu, and banked her credits. dd2 (9 and will eat off the adult menu sometimes and is a more adventurous eater than her sister) ds (8 and lives off of burgers, pasta and macaroni and cheese, loves ice cream!).
So we begin:
After at 18 hour straight through drive we checked in at Buena Vista Palace and Spa for one night before starting our two weeks at BC CL! We walked over to RFC at DTD (one of our traditions).
We oredered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer to share.
I had the coconut shrimp skewers, dh had the paella, I don't remember what the girls had but trust me it was either burgers or chicken finers, ds had macaroni and cheese. DH and I both thought our meals were very good, and the kids were happy with their choices. But of course that was not why we always go to RFC -bring on the volcano!!!! We love the volcano dessert and it was plenty big enough for us to share, although we didn't leave much. It was a great way to start our vacation.
Next up: Day 2 (Breakfast: BC CL, Lunch: Columbia Harbor House, Dinner: Tutto Italia). Stay tuned.

Great start - my reason for loving RFC is because of the Raspberry Rainfall - awesome drink :thumbsup2

We arrived at BC to check in early Sunday morning, June 28th. We were staying in a BC deluxe CL room so we had concierge privileges but were not staying on the CL floor. We had a wonderful deluxe room on the 1st floor that we loved. Of course we probably didn't make use of the lounge as much as we did when we stayed on the 5th floor. Anyway after checking in the kids had bagels, juice, fruit and cinnamon rolls before we headed to MK. Cl has a nice continental breakfast each morning - cut up and whole fruit, bagels, croissants, cinnamon rolls, juice, coffee, hot chocolate etc. We used it a lot, and it helped us get our early morning act together!
Lunch: Columbia Harbour House
Let me start by saying we love CHH. It is our favorite cs in all of MK. I got what I always get, the very best tuna sandwich at MK! I love the whole grain bread they serve it on and no onions! DH had the vegetarian chili, the two girls had chicken strips or nuggets (whatever they have) with fries, and ds had the kids macaroni and cheese. I substituted cole slaw for dessert, dh had the yogurt and the girls had chocolate cake. We all loved what we had and will definitely continue making CHH our 1st MK day "must do".
Coming up: Dinner at Tutto Italia

Tutto Italia - Dinner
We had another great dinner at Tutto Italia. This is our third time eating here. We had tried it when it was Alfredo's and weren't impressed. We like Tutto much better.
The kids had the mozzarella with marina sauce appetizers. Let me say that we always beg the kids to share this appetizer because it is probably the best "mozzarella sticks" appetizer we ever had. Much more like fresh mozzarella, lightly breaded with a great marina sauce. I had spaghetti and meatballs, DH had the penne caprese, two dds had the kids pizza and ds had kids spaghetti and meatballs. Everyone loved their meals. The kids love the pizza here. For dessert I had the same dessert I ordered in Feb. blood orange sorbet, probably the best sorbet I ever had! DH just had espresso and the 2 of the kids had gelato and one had the chocolate mousse. I also had a great peach bellini drink to start, and DH had an Italian margarita. Once again we were not disappointed.
Coming up next: 50's PTC for lunch an the Wave for dinner!

Monday, June 29
We had a quick breakfast in the CL lounge (standard fare, croissants, bagels, fruit etc).
We had friends from home who were staying at YC and part of their vacation overlapped ours. DH and his friend and his son played golf this day while the kids and I met up with my friend and her dd at DHS. We had a lunch reservation at 50's PTC. My friend had always wanted to eat there but her family didn't want to. So this was her first chance to try it She is a really "fun" gal so we knew she would get into the theme of 50's PTC and she didn't disappoint. I can't remember our waiter's name (it was hard to pronounce) but he was a lot of fun without being over the top. THere was a lot of give and take between the server and my friend, at one point she had to sing I'm a little tea cup for the whole room! We had a ball!
Back to the food. My friend and her dd and I all ordered the fried chicken. I substituted green beans for the collard greens and dfriend substituted corn. I love the fried chicken at 50's PTC and it didn't disappoint. All three of the kids ordered chicken nuggets. I didn't want any dessert but two of the kids had the sundaes that came with the kids meal and oldest dd ordered the Dad's sundae (with the brownie). I had a vanilla diet coke to drink, one dd had a vanilla coke, one had a spirte and one had a root beer float. We were paying oop for this meal, using our TIW card. Everyone had a great time and loved their meals. DD loved the brownie sundae!
Dinner: The Wave
This is our third time eating at the Wave. We ate there when it first opened last summer and again in February. Both times we had an amazing server, Ali. We asked if he was working that night, and luckily he was. At first we were told our table wouldn't be in his area, but then they changed it around so he could serve us. I think he is the best server in all Disney. Believe it or not he actually remembers us from time to time. He even remembers what we had to eat on the last visit - he must have a photographic memory.
Anyway I had an amazing soup (can't remember what it was called) and DH had a special salad. The kids stuck with carrots and dip. For our entrees I had the tenderloin with mashed potatoes and DH had the sustainable fish of the day. Kids all had burgers. For dessert Dh had the trio of sugar free desserts and I picked a few different mini desserts - cheesecake, vanilla creme brulee and panna cotta with blueberries. Kids all had the sundaes. This is definitely one of our favorite meals. It is a "must do" for us for our next trip.
Coming up next - Counter service lunch around the World at EPCOT, and Cape May Buffet dinner.

Tuesday, June 30th
Today was supposed to be our EPCOT day but it was raining so hard we decided to change plans. This was our first time driving down, so it was our first time having a car at WDW. Here is where we made a big mistake. For years I have been wanting to go see the Titanic Exhibit in Orlando. We decided to do this instead of EPCOT that morning. BIG MISTAKE. Lesson learned - never go offsite except for SeaWorld of Universal.
Anyway we had breakfast before we left at BC CL. We decided to wait to have lunch until we got back, and would go to EPCOT since the rain had let down.
Usually I like to eat a cs meal from the bakery in France but dd really wanted to go to the cs in China (Lotus Blossom I think). I told DH I would take her and he could take the other to to their favorite Liberty Inn. DD and I both got the orange chicken with rice. We got both kinds of ice cream (red bean and ginger). The chicken was fine (think food court Chinese at the mall). We both liked the red bean, but not the caramel ginger. The other two kids had burgers and chicken nuggets, one frozen coke and one mickey head rice krispy treat. Dh just picked off their plates. We walked over to the bakery in Norway and got a school bread and cinnamon roll to split - can you say YUM YUM? Here is where we got a little bit of pixie dust. As we came out of the bakery (and we were with friends from home) a Norwegian cm came out of Malestrom and offered to take all 9 of us to be her "special guests" and to go to the head of the line! It was really unexpected, somewhat like the Year of a Million Dreams!
Dinner: Cape May Buffet
We had an Illuminations Cruise booked with our friends since we were both celebrating our sons' birthdays. I had ordered a special cake to be delibered on the cruise. More about that later.
We all ate together at the Cape May Buffet for dinner. This is one of my favorite buffets - of course I love steamed clams! The clams didn't disappoint and the prime rib and pasta were really good. None of us got dessert because we wanted to save our appetites for the $100 cake! Everyone agreed it was a really good buffet.
When we checked in at the cruise they said the weather wasn't cooperating for the cake so we would have to have the cake back in the room. That was fine. The cruise was fantastic - great view of Illuminations!
Here was the big disappointment - when we came back to the room the cake had either melted or was dropped and it was in pieces. The pirate themed cake looked awful - choclate ship in pieces, huge chunks of cake broken off. We called private dining and the manager came down and he agreed it was just awful! Naturally they credited the price of the cake. It was too late to even go up to concierge for dessert. The manager offered us one of those frozen Sara Lee Cakes but we declined. By that time it was too late, and we were just so disappointed.
Next up: Breakfast at the Cape May Buffet
Dinner: Ohana

What a shame about the cake, at least they refunded the cost. We love the Illuminations Cruise, you get such a great view.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post this review. I have never heard of those desserts in Norway so I would love to try them next time. I may even try the Wave, thanks to your review. Can't wait to read more.
Sorry to hear about the cake and I sure would be disappointed too.

Breakfast: Cape May Buffet
This is probably our favorite breakfast buffet. We always book an early reservation and it's never too crowded. We had the typical buffet fare -eggs, mickey waffles, fruit, etc. My favorite thing on the buffet is fresh asparagus. That just makes my morning. Saw the characters. Kids are out of the autograph stage but still let us take their pictures with the characters.
Lunch: We ate from the BC Marketplace this day. It was starting to rain so we skipped our original Hurricane Hannah plan. We like the marketplace. This time we took the food back to our room because the kids were getting tired, but they have a really nice solarium that we sometimes take the food to. I had the clam chowder and ham and cheese sandwich, dd and ds had the turkey with mozzarella and basil mayonnaise sandwich, dh had some kind of vegetable wrap. One dd wasn't hungry for lunch. She just wanted a fruit cup that we had in the frig (left over from some counter service lunch). The clam chowder was delicious and hit the spot. The sandwiches are always good. My one dd is obsessed with the turkey sandwich. The marketplace always offered to heat up the sandwiches if we wanted. For dessert I had a key lime tart, dd had a cupcake, ds had a brownie and I think dh got a yogurt. I loved the key lime tart! (forgot to put in from our 1st DHS day but dd and I shared a great key lime tart from starring rolls - a snack credit!).
Dinner: Ohana. Ohana is one of our favorites but we really got one of the worse tables this time. I had ordered the goody bags, table decorations and a mini pirate cake for ds for this meal. It was on our check in sheet but not on the table when we sat down. I talked to the server, he was upset that it wasn't told to him before we sat down but he brought out the decoration and the goody bags for the kids. We love just about all the food at Ohana. Of course I still had to order the kids the regular kids meals (even though dd is an adult according to Disney). They had chicken nuggets and burgers. They still were able to share the family style side dishes. The salad, wings, and potstickers came out first and we really love them. Then came the noodles and vegetables (mostly broccoi and carrots). I used to love the potatoes but the noodles are good and I think really fit in with the theme better. Then came the skewers. I had shrimp and steak and DH had turkey, shrimp and steak. All very good. We at the bread pudding and ice cream and boxed up ds's little pirate cake to take back to the room. It was just a tiny cake but he liked the pirate decorations. We love the bread pudding but I still miss the caramel with pineapple. Wish you could have a choice. My kids used to love the snow cones in the sand buckets but they're gone too.
Next up: Flame Tree Barbecue and Wolfgang Puck Express

We are eating dinner at 'Ohana for the first time in October. Did you HAVE to order kids meals for your kids or did they have them by choice?

By choice - my kids are not the most adventurous eaters.

Yes - I also ordered the pop up table centerpiece the mini pirate cake.
Thursday, July 2
Today was our AK day. We ate breakfast at the BC Marketplace using cs credits. For the 5 of us we got 3 egg and cheese croissant sandwiches and one yogurt parfait. The sandwiches were plenty big enough for the kids and I to split. The cs breakfasts come with two drinks each so we had 6 drinks for the 5 of us. Saved two and took them with us to AK.
Lunch: Flame Tree Barbecue
This was our first time eating there. I always wanted to try it but DH and dd were hooked on Pizzafari's chicken parm sandwich. Now that it's off the menu we decided to try FTB. LOVED IT! DD and I had the pork barbecue sandwich with baked beans, DH had the chicken salad, and I think the other two kids had hot dogs ( a little fuzzy on them). All the adults had key lime pie for dessert - and it was fantastic! I would go back just for the pie, it really tasted restaurant quality, not quick service. DD and I loved the barbecue sandwiches, Dh thought the chicken salad was just okay. We will definitely use a cs here next trip! We walked a ways and sat down close to the river, the ducks were a slight problem, but not as bad as Caseys!
Dinner: Wolfgang Puck Express
We tried this for the first time in February and we were hooked. Probably the best use of cs credits in all of Disney! DH had the veg pizza, I had the spaghetti and meatballs and all three kids had cheese pizza. We had a very snippy cm at the counter when we were ordering. When I asked for the creme brulee for dessert she snipped "out of them, pick something else". No personality at all, rather rude. We ended up with cookies and brownies for dessert. Everyone loved the pizza. The spaghetti was okay, but I was sorry I hadn't ordered the margarita pizza like last trip, that was fantastic. We took the cookies and brownies back to the room as we were stuffed!
Next up: Hurricane Hannah's and Liberty Tree Tavern

I've often found that the staff at Wolfgang Puck's can be a bit 'off' but the food is so great, I can forgive them ;)
We might try Flame Tree BBQ on our AK day this year.
I will be trying WPE when we are there. Would love to try Flame Tree but already have a breakfast and dinner and know that I won't be able to eat lunch.

Friday, July 3
Today was our rest day.
We slept in a little bit and grabbed some egg and cheese sandwiches from BC marketplace. The kids were scheduled for the Albatross Cruise.
They've done this before and always had a good time. There were a couple of really smart alecky kids on the cruise this time. I said to DH before it even left that I felt sorry for the cms on that trip, those kids were really fresh. My kids aren't angels but they were shocked at how rude and obnoxious the boys were!
After the cruise we headed over to SAB for the day. We all ate lunch from Hurricane Hannah's. They have the Beaches and Cream burgers now and they are sooo good. I think three of us had the burgers and fries, one had hot dog and fries and Dh had the flatbread. We all got the mickey bars for desserts. It is so nice because they have servers that come around and take your orders by the pool so you don't even have to go stand in line if you don't want to.
We were heading over to MK that night for dinner at LTT and to watch the 4th of July preview fireworks. This has been our tradition every time we go to Disney over the 4th of July. We love LTT and the kids are older so it didn't matter to us when the characters left. We were seated shortly after we arrived. The server took our drink orders and brought our bread. Now we just love the bread with honey butter! We've been known to go through several baskets (hence the extra 6lbs this trip!). We got our salad soon after, and then we waited and waited. We must have had the worse server every. The food (when we got it) was delicious as ever. It is one meal the kids really eat - they love the mac and cheese, turkey, potatoes etc. I really like the green beans too!. We were seated at 5:45. By 7:10 we hadn't even had dessert yet so we decided to skip it. We wanted to get out to get a good spot for the fireworks. This was disappointing because the kids really like the LTT dessert. DH was not happy with that meal. I took the kids outside to get a spot and it was still about 15 minutes later before the server even brought the check! It was just bad luck to get the server, we'll still go back to LTT.
Next up: Fourth of July!
Breakfast: Princess Storybook Breakfast
Lunch: Chefs de France (to see Remy and meet a Disser!)
Dinner: Rose and Crown ( or how we had to eat and eat and eat in order to keep our table for Illuminations!)

great reviews. What a shame about the bithday cake!
Thanks for taking the time to review. We are staying BC CL in Oct. and I am planning on b'fast in the lounge. It sounds like it will get us started for the day. We will also be eating Cape May for the 1st for b'fast our last day. My ds 11 loved B&C last trip and it is one of the reasons we decided to stay at BC. Glad we can have the same burger at HH poolside!! Looking forward to the rest.
