John -- video social networking is here ...

hi all,

on the recent F2F show, Pete and crew were asked to speculate on the future of the Dis ... John mentioned possibly using future technology, and that video social networking would be a great idea.

I'm not a member or user of this, but a local radio talk show uses something called Paltalk www.paltalk.com as a video chat with listeners during shows. I don't know, like i said I've never used it, and I'm not advertising for it (please remove the link if it violates any rules) but the technology is there .l.. pretty cool. :cool1:

I think we will see social networking even surpass that of plain video. I think we will see virtual chats where people will be able to place themselves in a room and interact with one another - kind of like a cocktail party with 3D representations of ourselves.

I, of course, won't participate in any of it - but you all have fun!!

me neither, John. I'd have to change out of my jammies before 10 am. I have a web camera on my laptop and I can't figure out how to disable it. I'm tired of it taking pictures of me and sending who knows where. I put a Mickey sticker over it.:thumbsup2

John, thats already here to. technicaly. There are tons of online stuff for that. Second Life, RuneScape, There, (formerly) VMK, etc. lol a True visionary

John, I agree with this. However, we'll be able to choose our own 3D avatar--kind of like World of Warcraft meets the Sims. For myself, I'll be someone from the original Star Trek. I think, "Bones." He fits my ornery self.
