we´re not DVC members (yet!!) but we´re renting points for our upcoming trip to AKL.
we´re also looking at a family holiday to singapore in 2011. i know its possible (with transfer fees) to use DVC points to book non disney property. but i´m not sure if this is even possible for singapore or if its a valid option cost wise.
would any kind DVC disser mind having a look to see if its even possible to transfer points to be used for an apartment in singapore? if so roughly how many points would i be looking to use for 2 weeks in february? (say in 2010 to get an idea of price)
also how much are the transfer fees?
(i know i wont be able to book this far in advance, but just wondering if its even possible or if its even a valid option!!)

thanks in advance

There are no hotels showing for Singapore in the 'Member Getaways' section. You could trade through RCI but there are only 2 resorts in Singapore and getting the dates you want would be slim. The transfer out fee is $95 plus any other fee for services at the RCI resort, as I believe some have fees for certain services. Also with transfers out for RCI I think the booking time scale is up to 2 years in advance.

do you know the names of the RCI places? is there any way for a non DVC member to find out how many points etc it would take?

Appears there is only one the Bayview hotel and it shows as hotel rooms or studios max 2 persons. For Sun - Thur nights it is 16 points for a stuio and Fri - Sun 27 points for a studio so 134 points a week. Looking at the DVC members web site and link to RCI Singapore does not appear as a property available.
