In April, I received the "Adults eat and play at the Kid's prices" PIN. I booked 2 packages on each end of our Magic Cruise. The first one for 4 nights for the kids and I at POP and the second one for 5 nights for the kids, MIL and I at POP. Then, a couple of days ago, I received a PIN for FREE DDP! The second package I went ahead and changed to the free DDP PIN, saving around $170. Plus, the TS meals will be a nice break with MIL as she has rheumatoid arthritis. So, now my delima...

If I switch to the Free DDP for the first package, I would only save $30, as I would lose the discount for the tickets (I bought enough days to cover both legs of the trip). I know that I would spend more than $30 on tips with the DDP and I would have to buy the mugs (I really want them!). I know I would still be getting a better "deal" since I'd get half TS with the free DDP even though in the long run it would cost me more than the discounted QSDP. However, since it's just me and the kids, I don't know if I want to be tied down to ADRs. But I know with the TS, it will be nice to be waited on for one of our meals a day and a bit relaxation for MOM :goodvibes. I feel torn. Spend a bit more for the DDP and have one good break a day but lose the freedom of no ADRs or just stick with the discounted QSDP.

So, what would you do???

TIA

I'd leave it just the way you have it now, with the QSDP for the first part (you & the kids) and the regular plan for after the cruise with your mom.

There are so many good counter service options, you're not just stuck with burgers & nuggets if you "shop" around...I think you & your kids will enjoy being able to go-go-go during the first park stay with no being tied down to reservations at all.

I'd also leave it the way you have it now.

There will be lots of TS meals on the ship and then on your second WDW stay. Enjoy not having to be at (which ever ADR) at a certain time during the first part of your trip.

Leave it the same. You and the kids will be able to do alot more by not being tied down to ADRS for the first bit of your trip. Plus you will save money, no tips!

If you'll be buying the mugs then your price is actually going up by switching once you factor in the cost of the mugs and that doesn't even take the tips into account. Since you'd prefer the freedom of the QSDP, I'd stick with the original pin. You'll get to do your TS meals on the second part of your trip so it's not like you won't get to do any.

I'd leave it the way it is now.

Thanks everyone! I think I'll stick with the QSDP for the first leg of the trip. Since we'll have an assigned dinner time on the cruise and for the 2nd POP stay, it will be nice not to have to worry about ARDs on the first stay.

Good choice. That is what I would have done. Have a great trip.

I also think leaving it is the best choice.
