DDP when family mem. arrive diff. days?

Has anyone purchased the DDP when one family member arrived days after the rest of the family? My 3 kids, 14, 8, and 6, and I arrive at Beach Club on Aug. 3, using the 4 plus 3 nites free promo, but DH can't join us until the 6th. As of now he is on the res. for the entire time, so we would have to purchase the DDP for him even for the days he won't be there, right? Does anyone know a way to avoid paying for those days? Can we change the res. so that he is not on it until he actually arrives and have him on the dining plan at that point? Will that mess up his ticket? Surely enough families have to juggle arrival times to accommodate different vacation availability that hopefully someone reading this may have an idea or point me in the right direction! TIA VVM!

I think the only way to do it is to not have him on the reservation at all and then you will have to pay for all of his meals-he can't be added on later.

The other option is to leave it the way it is and you and the kids can use his credits for the first few days and/or use them in the morning after he arrives for some CS breakfasts. You could do one more TS meal and pay out of pocket for one child and use up 3 adult credits (the 8 yr old could use an adult-just so you don't have to pay out of pocket and have an extra credit) or wait til he arrives and do another TS and pay out of pocket for the two children.

If you want him on the meal plan, he has to be on it for the entire reservation. There is no way to avoid paying for certain days on the dining plan for a party member who arrives later.

Your only other option is to leave him off the reservation (and DDP) entirely but he wouldn't be able to do EMH if you do that. We have 1 family member leaving early but we are just going to do an extra TS meal with the credits and use a few CS meals for some sandwiches to take to the airport on our last day because we'll need food anyway and it saves from having to deal with it at the airport.

You could always use the extra credits for a signature meal or at CRT where they use 2 TS credits, or eat TS for lunch and dinner a couple of days to use up the extra credits and use the CS for breakfasts.
