Howdy!

Well we are just weeks away from our annual trip to the Fort, and we can't wait!

We have an extra week to camp after a week at the Fort, so we're looking for a nice Family Campground in North Florida, or South Georgia. Need to give our new Tow Vehicle a workout this summer....any suggestions

Greatly Appreciated!

Jekyll Island (http://www.jekyllisland.com/accomodations/camping.asp) Ga. It is about 30 miles from the FL/GA state line off I-95.

I recommend you AVOID Osprey campground on I-95 at the FL state line... Awful! Filthy! Noisy! Trashy! Expensive! ...and did I say Awful!?

We like North Beach on A1A just a couple of miles north of St. Augustine.

Fort Clinch State Park. You can get a campsite either in the woods or in the open right near the beach. Did I mention the beach is beautiful? Lots of paved roads for bike riding or trails for hiking. You might get lucky and see a submarine sail in threw the channel. The fort is worth a visit. http://www.floridastateparks.org/fortclinch/default.cfm

Anastacia Island State Park in St. Augustine is absolutely perfect. Right on the beach and 5 minutes from the daytime activities of historic St Augustine.:cool1::banana:

I second Anastacia St. Park, very beautiful. Also, a little gem is O'leno State Park which is just above Gainsville on US 441. It's on the Santa Fe river and has an area were the river disappears unground for several miles.
Something different.

You could give your rig a great workout and hit Fort Clinch, also a winner as Draft Horse said, O'leno and Anastacia. Also have a coworker that loves Tomoka State Park in Ormond Beach.

So many choices, so little time.
