Being a B I G chocolate lover myself, I was just wondering what other DISers thought -

do you prefer a bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk (actually the Double chocolate is my favourite) or does Hershey chocolate do it for you? :confused3 :rotfl:

I don't like Milk Chocolate particuarly. And out of all the one's available here, I don't like Cadburys, I'd prefer a Galaxy.

But I'd deffo choose the Cadbury's over Hersheys on this one!!

Unless of course it was Hersheys cookies n creme!!!!

Cadbury's wins every time.

If Hersheys was the only chocolate i could quite happily never eat chocolate again. I always find it leaves a nasty aftertaste.

I quite agree. It has a sicky (yes sicky not sickly) taste.

I agree....if I lived in the US for an extended period of time I would never touch chocolate.

Cadbury's. I enjoy Hersheys, but I couldn't eat it too often. :)

I think neither has deserved to be called chocolate. I love the stuff from Hotel Chocolat or brands like Valrhona or Montezuma.

Cadbury would be my preference too - think Hershey is horrid.

Must admit to also loving Hotel Chocolat :) We are members of their Tasting Club and devour a box every 3 months (in fact our new one came through the letter box today but I can't open it until Kenny gets home next week :lovestruc)

Hersheys has a very strange after taste and cadburys is just fat and sugar.

Much prefer something like Lindt 85% cocoa :)

Hershey is the worst tasting chocolate ever!

Wispas are my fave too :D

Cadburys however I don't dislike Hershy, they are okay just not as nice as cadburys, I will have Hershy in flordia as won't pay that much for something I can get here.

Definitely Cadburys, especially chocolate buttons. I don't like Hersheys at all, tried it once and never again as it does have a sickey taste to it, hard to describe but yes it I lived in the US I would never eat chocolate again.

Cadburys wins hands down. :love::love::love:

To me Hersheys tastes like the cheap chocolate the kids are given in movie themed easter eggs (High School Musical and Simpsons springs to mind). Of course when they were younger they happily ate whatever chocolate was offered not any more though.

Am thinking that I will now have to dash out to buy some - whatever happened to the diet? :rotfl2:

Not a fan of either, but Cadburys definitely over Hersheys, hate the stuff.

If in US we all love Ghiradellis (especially the free samples at DTD) in UK Thorntons Continental.

All the major supermarkets have it in, it was on offer for £1 for a large block.

IMO...

1) Cadburys - best chocolate in the world. Period. So pleased they bought Wispa back - can't wait for the Wispa Gold Rush in September.
2) Hotel Chocolat - expensive but worth it
=3) Dumon Chocolat (Belgium - 'nuff said)
=3) Thorntons

About 21-22 years ago before we were married we bought a box of 48 Wispas, ate them all in a short space of time, I think DW has had 1 in last few years but I still can't eat them, put me off for life.

Sorry for us it just has to be Lindt or Hotel Chocolate, preferably dark, the higher the cocoa bean content the better mmm.... it's usually got a smaller fat and sugar content than milk chocolate too. I went off Cadburys years ago I have to be desperate for a chocolate fix to eat it ... you know those stressful moments when you really need something stronger to give you a boost but you can't get hold of anything else.

Neither, I'd rather have chocolate than the poor excuse that is Cadbury's or Hersheys.
Then again, according to my passport I am Belgian, something seems to stick: I will only have proper chocolate. :)

Me too! Its also a bit too... crumbly rather than melt in your mouth (not that you want it to melt in your mouth, rather spit it out!!)

I love the Lindt ball things, they are yummy! Cadbury and Galaxy. Some Hotel Chocolat is nice, but some are a bit :scared:

Wispa Gold Rush!!! I hadn't heard about it, but now there is something to look forward to when I get back from disney.

Here's fingers crossed for the Wispaccino rush to follow soon afterwards (although as I think I was the only person buying those the first time round it might take a lot of pixie dust).

I also think Hersheys tastes like sick. It takes a lot for me to refuse chocolate (especially when its on an aeroplane and they didnt remember to pack a veggie meal for me) but hersheys pushed me to it. Mainly Im relaxed in the US so I dont need chocolate, but I would only choose to eat butterfingers or reeses of their chocolate, or Kitkat/3 Musketeers in an emergency.
