We're considering the DDP but I don't know that we'd eat desert for every meal every day... Do you guys get them to go to eat later and if so how do you lug them around with you?
I'm specifically picturing walking around with a go-box of cheesecake for two hours and then eating it while watching Illuminations. haha. Do you guys do things like that?
We're going in late December so it will be refrigerator temperatures outside.

We've done it but we've generally been heading back to the room (usually at lunch when heading back for naps) and I can put it into a fridge pretty quick (we don't use Disney buses so not too much waiting around). Some desserts (cheesecake, lol), I'd be nervous about leaving out of a refrigerator for too long, even in December.

We've done it, but like Jennifer, usually when we're heading back to the room pretty much right away. A few time, DW and I have taken our dessert "to go", to enjoy after the kiddies are in bed and we're out on our balcony at AKL, watching the animals and sipping an "adult beverage". :)

I think in December you would be fine with some of the desserts for a few hours. I know a bunch of people on here mention they do the same thing.

We had a small softside cooler that we were carrying in the stroller anyway, so it worked well for us.

I'm glad you asked this- I've been wondering the same thing.
On the same note- can you take 'doggy bags' out from your leftovers? I'm thinking if we are going straight back to our resort- it wouldn't be a hassle to carry them. I just didn't know if it's allowed.

As long as it's not a buffet, you can get your leftovers to go.

Actually, we did just that during free dining one September! A word of advice, though----bring some of those disposable food containers with snap on or screw on lids. (You can stack them in a back pack when they are empty. ) This way, the dessert won't get squished or go sliding around in a much too big styrafoam container. Fore-go the whipped cream and anything else that might get super sloppy.
When choosing CS desserts, choose ones that are already in containers. They travel better. There is so much food on the DDP that our desserts wind up being snacks or breakfasts the next day.

I would bring a small collapsable cooler and a small plastic bag. Ask for some ice at the restaurant to keep things cool. This is Florida in December, not Jersey. Central Florida doesn't always get that cold in December.

We frequently asked for our desserts in to-go boxes and put them in the refridgerator back at the resort. They made good breakfasts/snacks for the next day.
Be careful, though, if you're going to walk through the park after the restaurant. Don't keep it out for too long. Maybe you can bring a thermos with you or ask the restaurant for some ice to put in a ziplock bag around the dessert?

We just ate at HBD for the Fantasmic dining plan. The couple next to us asked their waiter if they could "hold" their desserts and pick them up on the way out! At first the waiter told them to choose anything that wasn't too creamy or perishable and then he returned to say that when the couple returned, they would then package any dessert they wanted! We, of course, ate our desserts with dinner as we couldn't wait to try them! And, they also gave us a complimentary dessert for my birthday - a domed chocolate mousse which was similar to a zebra dome - larger and no stripes!! We had 4 desserts for the three of us!

Ooh I wonder how many restaurants will do that? That would be great!
Also, I just realized that in the topic I wrote 'deserts' hahah.

We pack a small cooler with ice and drinks, and by the time we make it to any of the meals with dessert, there's room for leftovers and such.
We had so much left over dessert after CRT this year (dessert that comes with the meal + birthday cupcake for me + birthday chocolate slipper for DD) that it required a container too large for our cooler. We headed straight back to the resort (it was flooding anyway).
Also...my DD and I went to Narcoosee's for dinner. I was a bit dehydrated and feeling horrid and couldn't eat...DD slept through the meal. They boxed up the entire meal -- including my mini castle cake -- and the waiter gave me a 1L bottle of Evian in lieu of the dessert. Massive amount of food there, and they had absolutey NO problem boxing up the food, bagging up the boxes, and letting me leave with a doubly heavy load (since I had to carry my sleeping 5 year old out plus all that food...) Again...straight to the resort.
