We're considering flying AirTran to Orlando. Have not flown on them for several years. In the past, we got a boarding pass at check-in with a number but no assigned seats. Is this still the case or do they assign seats ahead of time? Thanks.

They assign seats. I don't think they've done the Southwest method since they ditched the Valujet name.

We flew AirTran this weekend. We were given our boarding pass with a seat assignment when we checked in at the counter. It was not like Southwest's first come- first served seats.

Hope that helps.

Normally what gate does airtran arrived at and how easy is it to baggage claim?

After baggage claimed, how far is it to shuttle bus area that take you to offsite rental car?

Thank you much.
