DAY SIX: THURSDAY JUNE 20 ’We Have Two Of Every Animal, Now Where Is That Ark Mickey!!!’
Up bright and early today and off to Animal Kingdom for rope drop. We are a few minutes early so the Moms are off pin shopping again. I have lost all control (as if I ever had any) over these pins. They are both rapidly approaching the 100 pin mark. Melissa has already given me rights to her ‘garage sale’ money back at home. Oh well they are having fun. The rope drops and we hurry over to the Safari, grab FP’s, and go in the Stand by line. We are on within minutes and see great animals. We had to stop and wait for a Giraffe to cross the road in front of us. The only problem was a very loud obnoxious lady behind my wife. Every time Melissa would try to take a picture this lady would start hooting, hollering, and would point her arm right in front of the camera! Anyway, our first ride is over and we jump right back on as our FP are good now. This time we get great pictures and we had to stop as a Rhino was rubbing against our car!
Back by the shops the Moms find some good pins and while we are all waiting for them a group of dancers/drum players show up and entertain us with music. Jacob was picked to play one of the rattles which he enjoyed doing. The Moms are done so we head to Its Tough To Be A Bug. Jacob was slightly worried about his one but finally setlled down and enjoyed it. I really hate it when the bugs exit the theater!
The rain has started up again and stays the rest of the day, so we are now sporting round three of ponchos (remember duct tape!). We head over to Dinosaur and get FP. We then head over and ride Triceratops spin and ride. Now our FP for Dinosaur have been active for 5 minutes so we grab FP for Primevil Whirl. We ride Dinosaur. This ride is very rough and loud and dark. The twins didn’t like it, everyone else said it was just ok. We eat lunch at the McDonalds stand and are lucky enough to get a big table with umbrella to keep the rain off during lunch. After lunch the twins hop in the stroller and fall asleep for their daily 2 hour stroller snooze. We head over to the Whirl and I stay with the sleeping twins under the cover of the FP Distribution Machine as the others ride. We swap and Jacob, Becca and I try to ride but the ride gets shut down due to a large storm moving into the area. My wife says this is a good thing as she didn’t enjoy this one very much, too whippy. It is basically a tilt-o-whirl on a roller coaster track.
While the twins are still napping I take the kids to the games and let them each play all the games. No one else was playing so for the $8 I was paying for the four kids to play, we were assured to win a prize every time. So for $32 the four kids each won a $0.25 stuffed animal grrrrr. We are pretty much soaked by now even with ponchos. Everyones shoes are soaked too. So we decide to see the Lion King Show (My favorite) and head out. As Always the Lion King Show was Great! We head back to the hotel and it stops raining, so we take a quick swim, a little rest and head to the Marketplace to some shopping as we are leaving pretty soon.
We get there and are disappointed that the sidewalk fountain is under repair and closed off. We had planned to let the kids play while the Moms shopped. Oh well. We decided we should eat so we checked out Rain Forrest Cafe. The wait was 90 minutes but they could seat us immediately if would sit on the covered patio. We said ok and it was fine. The food was ok but we were hungry so it was Great.
We did our shopping and let the kids spend there Disney Dollars. The Twins each picked the ‘Barbie’ doll Prince and Princess set, one Sleeping Beauty the other Little Mermaid. The have played with these non-stop since we have been home. Jacob picked the Buzz Blaster similar to the one you use on the Buzz Ride. They all picked a few pins, and they all picked nice journals to practice their letters and numbers in.
We planned on using our Disney Club Card to save the 10%, but were informed that we could save 15% by using American Express! I always like bigger discounts!!!
We headed back to the hotel and went to bed.
ANOTHER GOOD DAY, but too rainy!!!
