Calling all October 2009 Grand Gathering people!!! The Ale House will reserve tables for us if we wish to get together for dinner.
What I'd like to know is what works out better for everyone?
1) Wednesday - 10/28 - this is the night of their lobster special. (FtW Guy will be here, but NTSammy5 won't.)
2) Thursday - 10/29. (FtW Guy and NTSammy5 will be here - but no lobster special.)
Here's a link to the menu....
http://www.millersalehouse.com/menu.asp?i=g
Please post your preference and how many people will be in your party. As we get closer to the date, I will make the arrangements.
Thank you for your attention. We now return to the regular broadcast in progress. popcorn::

If we get to go, 10/28 works out better, so we can make the Epcot run with Al and Jim on 10/29. :drinking1

My concern is what condition Al and I will be in on the 29th, since we were planning on our beers around the world tour at Epcot that day.

Some of us may be in luck on Thursday. If they have lobster left over from the Wednesday special, they will offer the same special as long as they last. I've had lobster at a lot of restaurants...including some in New England. Ale House lobster is a worthy adversary!! :woohoo:
I'm with you though, Jen. I wanna meet my "Disboard Peeps", too!

Not being a lobster fan, I am good either way. Carol says she is just along for the ride and will go either way. If Al comes in late morning on the 29th, will we have enough time to comfortably tour the world in beer before dinner? And, will Carol, who doesn't drive in strange places unless absolutely necessary, be able to find the Ale House? These are the questions that make up life.

Jim....I'm willing to add a day to my ressie and get in on the 28th. I can be the designated driver for you two drunks on Thursday. Then Carol won't need to worry about driving in unfamiliar territory.
Ale House has bucket-o-beer specials that are very reasonable...so you & Al can continue the "Beers of the World Tour" outside of THE world!;)

As much as I LOVE lobster, I would be willing to give that up for meeting up with Al. I'm ok with either day.

Ok, I am working on a virtual "John", to be with you guys the whole trip. It's just in the planning stage, but I am thinking:
1. High speed wireless internet connection
2. Stereo cameras with 3d rendering
3. Hi Fidelity micorphone
4. At least 2 manipulators
1 to hold my beer as it follows you around epcot
1 to wave at everyone as I roll bye
5. I am thinking some sort of track drive, that can keep up with tungpo's fastest cart.
Any other suggestions? I need to start building this sucker soon, so I can ship it to the fort in time!!!

We would love to get together with all of you, but we will have to wait to let you know. The kids are coming from New York and we aren't sure what day they are coming. One year they came on Wed and the year before they came on Thurs.
Hopefully Rich will be fully recouperated (not sure if thats how u spell it) by then.

Somehow, I don't believe this statement. Maybe 'cause I read where you once stated:
It is a SCIENTIFIC FACT that Kungaloosh CANNOT contribute to public intoxication. Not wishing to get into all the specifics, suffice it to say that the precise ratio of Capt Morgan's, Blackberry Brandy, orange juice and strawberry daiquiri mix cancel out the effects of the alcohol. A bus driver told me this.

Sounds like this equipment will cost as much as 2 trips to the Fort.

I would however, like to join you and Al on your "Tour" of EPCOT as I can most likely get pretty
mellow on what you guys spill.

This is actually pretty serious business and something I feel needs to be done. Intoxication is not the ultimate goal, since it could interfere with accurate and impartial evaluation of fine brews. The trick is to alternate beer tasting with food consumption to keep the palate clear and senses intact. The tasting must be done systematically and with careful attention to established guidelines.

Very well said Jim, I agree. If I'm not mistaken the Food & Wine Fest will be happen'n at that time too,if so, this will make the food comsumtion eaiser between tastings, thus allowing one to possibly complete the world before Intoxication sets in.:woohoo:

So...is it safe to assume that most will be at Epcot on the 29th??? Mind if the BDR Krewe shows up?

Just so you know if anyone is getting wine (think this Epcot adventure is during Food and Wine)..they give you a nice full glass in both France and Italy. The other countries give you those skimpy sample size ones. So plan (as my husband did)..to spend more time in France and Italy..
I'm just sayin'...:rolleyes1

Is anyone going to the Ale House??? Epcot closes at 9pm on the 29th, thts kinda late for my little ones to go out....I say we make the "after Epcot party" another GG at the fort...Im just as crazy about a couple of grilled dogs and more of whatever I drink too much of at Epcot as I am about lobster. Lobster....overgrown, tasteless crawfish!!!

We eat at the Ale House just about every time we're at Disney and had the lobster special when we were there in November - it's my favorite place to eat in Orlando - BUT we'll have more fun drinking beer in Epcot.....
