Disney needed to change the date, I hope it works for all of you.

Hello Dis Fans,

Disney's Doorway To Dreams has invited us back to visit!

WHEN: Sunday, August 16th, 9am
WHERE: Disney's Doorway to Dreams, Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg IL
Who: Come alone, or bring your family! Of course, kids are welcome!
Why: Because it will be fun! The DVC store loves visitors! And if you haven't seen them, the new Bay Lake Tower Models are open! (They admit it exist now!)

For those who do not know...
Disney's Doorway to Dreams is the only place to see the Disney Vacation Club displayed other than on Disney property. The store is located in Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg IL. You can walk through full size models of the rooms, speak with Cast members about the DVC program, stand and feel a little Magic (or a lot of magic...depending who you stand next to), etc.

OK, this is the 3rd time the D2D is welcoming our group into its space, and like before it will be before the mall opens. Come hear, watch, wander and enjoy.

If you want to meet people in the area that have the same love (or some say issues) for Disney that you have, this is a great time/place to do it.

I have been really stuck trying to figure out what to do for my daughter's sixth b-day. I haven't been able to make up my mind. Her B-day is August 16th!!! Our family is in dire need of a Disney fix. We are staying at the BLT for our next trip in December and have never visited the model. I have become obsessed with BLT posts lately and am so desperate to just get a taste of it before my head explodes with anticipation. My older girls have been begging me to take them to Woodfield Mall again since we went to the Vacation as You Wish event there (7 pm Sunday, to late to see the model). How foolish of Gino's to open so late! I recall wanting to have lunch there on a Sunday, but they weren't open yet - so ended up at Joe's Crab Shack!

Instead of saying "Jaime is my home girl", I need something that says, "Jaime is my Squadron Leader". ;)

And it's not the town that's the problem. It's the freaking mall itself. It needs its own zip code. In order for me to find the correct street exit, I have to follow the signage that shows "Golf Road". Once I do that, I'm home free. Gino's is just a straight shot up Golf Road to the right, which is east of the mall.

Uno's is more convenient because it's one of the satellite restaurants on the mall perimeter. If your still in the mall area, you will eventually find it. I like Gino's better, but I still think Uno's is pretty good.

Just buy into DVC. After the last DIS meet I finally convinced my DH to buy in. We now own at AKL and are going "home" in 9 days, staying at SSR on developer points.

There is an entrance there ( I think the employees use it but it will be open) and when you walk in the restrooms are on the left, keep walking down the hallway and when you get into the mall D2D is on your left.

Don't worry though I just checked and the mall opens at 7:00 for the mall walkers.

you're exactly right. It's the upper deck parking lot, mall door 7, located between Lord & Taylor & Nordstrom. It's tucked back in the corner....look for the pepsi machines.

I had set the alarm for 6:30, but was up before that, like always.

I shower, put on coffee, and get dressed before waking Todd up at 7:00.

We breakfast, put on our pins, and head out the door. I brought the Podcast Cruise photo album Nicole made to show people.

We join the group in front of Doorway to Dreams, Todd is tiara-less today – he thought it was in his bag, but I find it next to the arm of the couch later on that evening. It’s amazing he was recognized at all, really.

Derek had asked that every family bring a Disney vacation photo to share with the group and to be entered into a raffle. I thought this was a great addition to the presentation – I loved hearing everyone’s stories!

Near the end of the presentation, Derek tells me that he’s turning the presentation over to me if there’s anything I have to say (I was the back-up liaison for DVC here).

I have nothing prepared, but that doesn’t stop me! I get up, thank people for coming, tell them where lunch is, and then offer to pose for pictures.

Lori and I split a salad and a lobster BLT flatbread – I tried to block out all the pizza on the table. We had a really nice lunch – which was extended due to a torrential downpour!

Todd and I headed back to my place and sat and talked – I put on a pot of coffee because I had been having a killer headache for hours now and I thought it might be a lack of caffeine. Meg comes running in at 4:45 and she has to be at work in 15 minutes. She asks Todd what time he’s leaving and he tells her he’s shooting for 5:00 also.

We had a blast and Todd can come back any time he wants!!!

I was reading it at the airport last night while waiting for our flight back home. My DH kept asking who everyone was (at least now he believes me when I say "No honey my friends are not imaginary.") :)

My Disney friends who live in other areas thought I was crazy because I used the phrase "come with". :rotfl2:

Too funny, Lori, I'm not actually from there - but maybe I picked it up when I was working there. I would so love to come back - I was thinking about moving there at one point, now that I don't need such a big house, but my brother keeps having a fit, when I mention selling the house and moving.

I got my dad married off, now I need to work on my brother.
