Did anyone see this video of a marriage proposal on Main Street in Dusneyland? Is this for real? Is the "groom" a CM?

That does not seem real, at all! I mean the lady that starts singing with a piano backup and then it goes from there. Its cute but I think its staged. For what I don't know! Maybe its part of some what will you celebrate promo. At the beginning, it reminded me of the Main Street footage you would see at the beginning of the Steve Martin 50th movie.

Now I did see a real proposal in September of 2005. During the parade of Dreams a guy ran out near the princess float dragging his girlfriend, got down on one knee and proposed. It was priceless. And Goofy caught on and got the audience in on the fun. One of my best Disney memories ever!

From another, CM-oriented, board the information there is that both people involved are entertainers. The man worked it out with his manager and got other CMs involvedd and set the entire thing up, including the music and professional taping. The woman was totally surprised.

Just as Disney will do "magical moments" for Guests, there is nothing to stop them from doing magical moments for Cast also. And all the performers would have been on the clock anyway. And it was unusual entertainment for the Guests that were present at the time.

Hmmm, I thought it was a real proposal but put on by a CM and a crew of his CM friends....I know the lady in the ECV is in the Aladdin musical. :)

Well I mean you never know. I do have friends who are entertainers at Disney and the couple might have worked there since the guy said they met on Mainstreet a year ago. I still think it was so cute and romantic!!!

I saw this in person when I was there in June, yet I should have been able to see myself in that video which I could not. This tells me it happened more then once, I believe it was the 7th or 8th when we saw it and the video is dated the 6th.

Real or not it was still kinda of a cool thing to see.
