My girls (ages 7-11) are pretty good walkers. What shoes or sandals would you suggest for our early September trip this year to protect their feet? Crocs are out, they love them but they often develop areas of friction around the straps. :sad2:

I'm thinking Teva, Merrell, any other ideas.

Thanks!

I always have problems with shoes, but for my DL trip in may, I found a pair of the cloth sort of- NIKE flip flops... I wore those all 5 days, I took tennis shoes, but didn't need them. They are well padded, and because they are cloth and not plastic they did not rub at all! I have worn them SO much since I got back and still they feel like they are brand new. They are amazing! They were like $17 for adult sizes, but they had childrens as well.

I always put my girls in tennis shoes with good socks when we go to the parks. Protects there precious feet and provides plenty of support and comfort. Feet tend to slide around in flip-flops if the weather is hot and sweaty. Enjoy your trip.:cool1::banana:

My 10 yr old DD loves her New Balance tennis shoes for all day park walking. She also brings a pair of Crocs and Teva Mush flip flops for around the pool or going to dinner.:thumbsup2

we follow the same plan. good tennis shoes but we always have crocs or flip flops. The kids love to wear the flip flops around the hotel and pool. It also gives their feet a chance to get a break from the tennis shoes.
