We are heading north to Sequioa and I am trying to find a nice/ cheap hotel on the way there from LAX. I found what looks like a nice hotel, with a great continental breakfast, it has favorable reviews written as well.

Just curious if this is a "safe" place to stop, or if we should keep moving on? I don't really know anything about this area, since we live in the Midwest. I hope I don't offend anyone with this question.

thanks!

I think you'd be fine there. I don't know much about Bakersfield but we have considered driving a different way and stopping there before....just for a night but we've thought about it. :)

You'll be fine staying there. It's really not a dangerous city.

not a bad place, but not necessarily the best area of town, though you'll be close to many amenities, and right by the freeway.

Do you have any other recommendations?
