Hello all! Im Nicole and my DF is Michael. So let start from the beginning shall we…..
We met working for Typhoon Lagoon. I was a Lifeguard/Coordinator and he was a Slide Operator. It was the beginning of the day, I was to be training slide operators. I was given a trainee, Michael. I was sadly only with him for about 30 minutes when another trainer came to take over for me. A coordinator had to go home, so I was to take over that position. I kept checking up on him for the rest of the day. Eventually he would come hang out with my friends and me. Till one day there came a bet (we all know how those can change a person’s life). The bet was that guys are better at mini golf than girls, we would play a game and see who would win. The losers had to treat the winners to the Pirate and Princess Party at Magic Kingdom. The guys, Michael and S against the girls, Me and my Friend J. Well Michael needless to say the girls lost by ONE shot, mine. True to my word, I took him to P&P about 2 months later. A week after the bet Michael asked me out to see the fireworks at EPCOT. We had a franks (because they had run out of brawts ?) and beer in Germany. While we were waiting in line for our food there was a wedding party in front of us. We said it then and still say it now, that it was a sign that we would end up together. Lol We continued with a stop in France for dessert, then we watched fireworks from the balcony of Yakitori House restaurant in Japan. Our first kiss was so amazing that we saw fireworks, hee hee. By the time we went to P&P it was love. things have been great ever since. Then we felt even more blessed this year. We welcomed our son AJ on Jan 19, 2009. Our little family now is 4; we have a very big lap dog, Daisy a Greyhound.

Side story so as not to confuse you….
In June He moved back MI to go to back to school. I was to follow a month later. However sadly I received word that my niece was terminal and would not make past the year. I instead moved home to New Mexico to be with family and help my sister in this tough time. I have been home ever since.

To happier news…..
In April AJ and I made the trip up to MI to visit Michael’s family and to show off the baby. Michael had made all the arraignments for us to have a dinner date on Good Friday. I was happy to have a night on the town. He was soo sweet. He made a playlist on his IPod of romantic songs, he was the perfect gentlemen. He took me to an Italian Restaurant that I had been talking about for months. We had a great dinner. After we ordered dessert I saw him fiddling with something under the table. I teased him for texting at dinner. He always teases me for having my phone around too much. I enjoyed teasing him for once. But little did I know that I caught him getting the ring ready. His whole face turned red, like I had caught him red handed. I turned to look out the window, the sun had set the sky was a really nice shade of purple. When I looked back there was a red ring box sitting in front of me. Instantly I started to cry, I opened the box….. empty. Then I heard him next to me, I turn to see him on his knee, “you have to say yes first.” I couldn’t say anything I was so in shock that all I did was nod. He laughed and put the ring on my finger. The whole restaurant cheered, we hugged, kissed. After dinner I spent the rest of the evening calling my family and friends.

The wedding…
We have finally decided to have a Disney Wedding. We have chosen the day of February 9, 2011, the day of our first date. Other than that we are still making choices. My DF wants the wedding pavilion. I want a garden setting but not sure how that will be since February can be a bit chill. Plus my mind is drawing blanks on outdoor settings at WDW. We have contacted DFTW, we received an email and are going through everything. Lots to do, but excited to finally start the planning process!!

so we have been talking colors the past few days.

*red and blue and sliver
those were the colors we wearing when we met at work. i was dress in red (lifeguard), him in blue (slide operator) im just worried it would look to 4th of july more than wedding.

*purple hues
which i like and think is very classy and plus my favorite color.

*or deep reds.
which he likes.

im the odd one, i told him no pink and no brown.
what do you gals think?

Ahem, I may be the slightest bit (or completely ) biased but I am totally giving my vote for purple! And I swear it has nothing to do with the fact that it's also my favorite color and/or being used as one of my wedding colors! :rolleyes1

I think any of the colors would be beautiful. I don't think the red, blue and silver would look too patriotic so long as it's not standard red and blue.

okay i need some help. i need some location ideas. i kinda want a garden setting, green, flowers, something that i won't have to do alot too. but the only place i can think of is the garden at WP, but the pictures make it look small.

our guest list is about 150 but we all know not all will come.
any ideas? :confused3

I have heard that you can use the croquet lawn at the Boardwalk. The little gardeny area at the WP only holds like 15 people and they have to stand...

Check this out:

once i saw it in the mirror i smiled and cried! so i had to have it. its a bit tight so gotta get into some shape.

so now im trying to get into shape. i know the wedding is a bit away but i figure that if i can get into shape now then i can STAY in shape by and after the wedding! so my mom and i have been on the P90X together. we started last week. the hardest part of the program seems to be the nutrition. where we live all there is to eat is fast food, and greasy spanish food. we both dont have time to cook or prep food. so we try to eat healthy where ever we go now. salads instead of burritos, grilled chicken instead of fried chicken, and healthy frozen meals.

wish me luck! :wizard: im gonna need it!

so today im going crazy!! :scared: my DF and i have been in a long discussion. First he wants me to move to Michigan with him. He feels like he is missing out of all of AJ'S milestones. a few days later he tells me to wait till October to even think about moving because he may get a job in Florida. Then today he calls me and tells me he wants to join the Air Force. if he does that then we have to get married like in Jan 2010! a simple wedding, like go to town hall wedding. "we can have a bigger wedding later." he says.

i love him dearly but he is worse than me when it comes to making up his mind! :rotfl::rotfl:

thank you, i sometimes need advice from someone else outside the box of fog. it really helped. Maybe being apart is starting to get to me. so i have decided to just keep planning the wedding like normal and go from there. hoping for the best.

so the next questions is for you ladies,
Which Photographer should we go with? we like all three of them and really can't decide.

Randy Chapman

My maid of honor helped me pick our photographer. There were a few others we really liked but were out of our price range (www.megphoto.com). I love Randy's style and they don't look so photoshopped like some of Misty's do. Although I have seen some of Misty's that are just gorgeous!! Roots was out of price range to begin with but probably would have been our #1 choice. I also have seen some brides using Studio 220.

LOl Don't know if I helped or made it worse :rotfl:

First off, congrats on the engagement and a DFTW!!!

Secondly, awesome dress...it looks very classy and beautiful.

I also love the colors...although I may be biased too as another purple bride!

I'm not help with the photographers. We're planning in-parks so that means DPS :(

And lastly, hooray for another p90x bride!!! It will definitely whoop your butt into shape! I'm doing the lean version because I have no urge to be super buff like Dreya. I'm in phase 2 and have noticed a lot of tighetening up. I haven't lost much weight but I'm definitely leaner. It's awesome.

Welcome! thanks for the encouragement!! i need it! but sadly we put in the kenpo x dvd and it wouldnt play right so we have to wait till the replacement dvd comes in. :sad2: other wise.... i love it! i feel great afterwards and my dress is my inspiration! :yay:

so right now we have narrowed it to Randy and Misty. Randy is cheaper and seems to be more experienced. Misty we love how her photos turn out and she seems very friendly. the decision should be made soon! Thanks Gals!

So this weekend is my Town's Celebration. Kinda like a county Fair. lots of music, vendors, food, and and the whole town is there. well yesterday after the Childrens Parade (which we were both in, and he slept the whole time. lol) my mother and father met me to walk around the fair. we found this gorgeous necklace for my dress! :) its all solid sliver, wraps around the base of the neck perfect in a wave like pattern. so it kinda looks like the ruffles on the bottom of my gown. I got the seller to bring it down from $75 to $50! ill take a picture of it soon to show you all.

I've heard Misty is also very helpful with bustles and things like that. I think with her you get her husband taking pics as well, so just something to consider. If you like Randy just as much though and his pricing is better, I would probably go with him. Why spend more when you already like his pics, ya know?

We picked the Roots because I loved their work and just didn't feel the same about anyone else. And as the bride, I gotta have what I want to have...:rolleyes1

I think it's funny how you narrowed them down, I did the same thing! When I was planning an e-shoot I contacted Randy and the Roots. The Roots got back to me first and since they were who I really wanted anyway, I figured that was enough of a sign! In reality, he was just probably really busy that week or something. The Roots were recently in Colorado for a wedding, so that may be why it took them a little longer.

I have heard great things about all three and I don't think you can go wrong whichever you choose, it's just a matter of the style you want.

Sorry to hear about the discs, I did Kenpo X today, and I feel toasty!! I bought them a long ago and my brother re-found them and did one round and he got jacked! So now me and my other brother, and our significant others are doing it. My brother kept the discs and we have copies, and ripped them onto the computer so I just need my laptop and I've got them. But the discs are better because you can choose what you want to listen to (Some people find Tony annoying :lmao: )

That necklace sounds awesome and hooray for talking them down in price. My mom and I can't haggle. We search for deals but we have a really hard time.

I personally don't think you can go wrong with any of those photographers. Everyone who has had them, has always raved about them. Hiring any of them would make you one lucky bride!

I think if I can zip up my dress without alterations, I will just cry tears of joy . . . it stops short about an inch and a half / two inches. So, I know how you feel. You're doing so GREAT!

Wow, your plans sound great. Love the red and purple combo. That dress is beautiful and looks amazing on you - congrats on the weight loss.

We had Misty as our photographer. As far as her photos being photoshopped - some of them are but most of them are not. We got our disks from our wedding and I think we have over 3500 pictures from our wedding. She did not that that many photos but what she does is take one photo and then will make it black and white and then make it Sepia tone - so from alot of our photos we have three versions of it. This makes it great for putting together a book. She also will take a photo and make it black and white and then just make one item in the photo color and it looks great standing out. So basically, you will have all the photos the regular way and then for alot of them you will also have a photoshopped version. This way you can use which one you like better.

The other great thing about using Misty is you got both her and her husband. This worked out great for us. He went into Epcot with my DH to take photos of the guys while Misty stayed with me and the girls taking some getting ready photos. We also got alot of great photos from our reception because having the two of them there they were all over the place - but we did not find them disruptive at all.

Here are a few samples of Misty's work.

oka here are some updates...

I kinda put my planning on hold this past week. my Mother came to me and asked me to plan my younger sisters baby shower. so we have been in BABY shower mode all week. I enlisted the help of one of my bridesmaids to help me. we decided to do a rubber ducky theme shower, which my sister's hobbies is collecting them. here is some of the things we worked on.
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z81/sexynikkie247/Baby%20shower%20ideas/th_ducky4.jpg (http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z81/sexynikkie247/Baby%20shower%20ideas/?action=view&current=ducky4.jpg)http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z81/sexynikkie247/Baby%20shower%20ideas/th_duck5.jpg (http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z81/sexynikkie247/Baby%20shower%20ideas/?action=view&current=duck5.jpg)http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z81/sexynikkie247/Baby%20shower%20ideas/th_ducky3.jpg (http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z81/sexynikkie247/Baby%20shower%20ideas/?action=view&current=ducky3.jpg)http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z81/sexynikkie247/Baby%20shower%20ideas/th_ducky2.jpg (http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z81/sexynikkie247/Baby%20shower%20ideas/?action=view&current=ducky2.jpg)http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z81/sexynikkie247/Baby%20shower%20ideas/th_ducky.gif (http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z81/sexynikkie247/Baby%20shower%20ideas/?action=view&current=ducky.gif)

I know this is for weddings... but im hoping for some ideas on baby shower games. any ideas???

Very cute! I love the cake. You could also make a diaper cake! They are really easy, I found instructions online and did it for my coworker's shower. After I assembled the cake I "iced" it in towels, bibs, etc and decorated with toys. Here's a pic. You could definitely make it ducky themed.

so ive been gone for a few days and not enough sleep. AJ got his top front tooth in. It took 3 days and he was sooooo crabby. then to top it off yesterday i caught a cold. so im running on very little sleep and lots of dayquil. :surfweb:

so a update, keep my thoughts and ideas for the wedding i purchased a binder to put it all in one place. so guess what i did.... yep thats right i filled it up with cut outs and print outs of everything i like. From flowers to BM dresses, to cakes to invitations. i went through every magazine i had. lol:rotfl:

I also decided to give out will you be my bridesmaid and flower girls cards. so ill post those later. its time to get back to work.

GoonieBride
08-15-2009, 03:08 PM
so i sent out the will you be my bridesmaid cards. i couldn't find the camera so ill have to post a picture of the one i gave my sister later. I found blank wedding cards. Also this really cute poem from my online search. Then i added a little special note to each one. i gave out 4 of them, to my sister, two best friends, and my cousin who i asked to be my MOH. here is what her note said.

The day, the dress
The bride, the groom
The joy, the tears
Will all come so soon

Professing true love
To my husband-to-be
With family and friends
All watching me

I hope the sun will
Be shining down,
Keep your fingers crossed
That I'll fit in my gown.

But there's just one more thing
that there needs to be.
and that's to have you
Standing with me!

*her note*
I know you already have a
moe in your life.
I know you are a moe to
someone else.
But it would mean the world
to me for you to be a
MOH in mine.
Kristin, Will you be my
Maid Of Honor?

Her best friend and her call each other "moe" its been a nickname since childhood. so that is where i got the "moe" from.

Aww that poem is very sweet! :lovestruc I got lazy when it came to writing mine out and essentially just wrote the same thing in everyone's! Sssh, don't tell, they'll never know! :rotfl2:

I did find that the cards went over really well and I think I was the first of the people I knew to do them, so everyone thought it was great.

lol, your binder story if very funny. I have one all set up but I don't really use it much, mostly I find pic online so I just save them to my photo gallery...all that after spending like an hour in staples agonizing over my binder choice!

Your son is so cute, I hope he feels better soon, teething is not fun, I can completely sympathize with my wisdom teeth issues!

don't worry i got lazy too :rotfl:. i had this whole picture in my head and i couldn't get up enough time to put it together. until i found myself at the Walmart card department. so you keep my secret and i'll keep yours. :thumbsup2

well another reason i kinda had to stuff the binder full of things was my mother took it from me and gave it back.... she had put a picture of DF and Me on the cover with rhinestones and had it laminated. she was way to sweet. so i carry it with me every where i go now. to prove that i use it. :cool2:

last night i was visiting with my dad's side of the family. we were all there (were Spanish, aka: wayy too many bodies in one home :scared1:) well the topic of weddings came up. 3 of us, myself included are getting hitched, their dates are april 2010 and october 2010, then me in feb 2011. guess what their colors are..... yep you guessed it, Purple! so when they asked me, i kinda froze up and said "we haven't decided yet." I don't know why i froze but i did.:sad2:
later i brought it up with my DF. He then said that he had talked to his friend, whose wedding is to be Sept 2010, a few days earlier and their color, Purple. then he dropped the bomb that he best buddy's wedding last year their color was purple as well. okay so now i really panic and decided right then that i am not gonna have a "purple wedding". im crazy i know! :confused3 we are going to all their weddings, and they are attending ours.

so we made that joint decision that we want a THEME wedding . something that will be completely different from all the purple weddings. so i come to you Disers for help! i need theme ideas. any and all will be helpful! even if there has some purple in the theme itself, that fine. i'll figure out a way to keep it as an accent or something.

Thanks in Advance!!!!

hummm...this is tricky! I was looking through your PJ to see your location, but it doesn't look like you have one (let me know if I missed that!!) so I am going by your dress, and other interests that you posted!

Okay, you said you met as lifeguards I beleive? You could work with a nautical type theme for lifeguards, or something related to Typhoon Lagoon?

Umm, I think you mentioned you wanted to be married in a garden setting. You could have a garden theme, and just have lots of flowers worked in through accessories, and have colours like pink and green (or really anything with green).

Other ideas:
- you could work with a particular country or place you are fascinated with (if there is one) so you could have an Asian, Mexican, Irish, etc theme
- you could base it on an event, like mardis gras or Oktober Fest
-it could be around a disney character ( so for donald, you could use blue, yellow and a bit of red, and add in the character to anything you can think of)
-I always liked the idea of a wine theme, but maybe you would need to be in a winery for that :rotfl:. But you could work in plum, and still have purple, and use corks for decor and stuff ( I am actually really liking this idea).
-You could have a "tea-party" theme or mad-hatter tea party, and rent out the GF tea room at night or during the day. That would be cute.
-you could go with an era, like 20's, 50's etc.

I think that's all I have for right now. If I get inspired, I will get back to you!:goodvibes

That was so sweet of your mom! :goodvibes I think I would definitely use mine more if it weren't just plasticy teal. ;)

I'm not so good with theme ideas but I liked all of Boardwalk_Bride's ideas. I think the garden party idea is really nice, or a nautical theme, it's really easy to find props for that and you can have your wedding at the Yacht Club to tie into the theme even more.

That's a shame that everyone is using purple, it does seem to be very popular, I'm using purple too, not sure on the exact shade yet, but more of an accent, so you can still incorporate it in flowers and stuff if you wanted. I know what you mean though about wanting it to be different. I always thought I would have red, since I think it looks great in dresses and I'm Asian and red is a good luck color, but then my BFF used it for her wedding, and my friend at work had it at her wedding, and even though it wasn't like people would really notice or care, I wanted something completely different. So gray it is! And the more I see it, the more I really like it.

I can maybe help you with color ideas, I really like some of the pool blues they have out now, or a darker peacock blue is nice too. I stayed away from blue since DF's sister is having that, I think hers are a pool (lagoon) blue. If you had a garden party theme, you could do a sage green. I liked some of the latte colored dresses they had too, still looked good with black but enough of a contrast with the bride's dress.

Hope that helps a little. If I come across any other themes, I'll let you know!

Hmm.. Theme ideas..

I've always loved the idea of an enchanted garden, or since you are so close to Valentine's Day, maybe use deep reds, pinks, and ivory. Or incorporate a mad hatter theme.

You could also elaborate on the Typhoon Lagoon themeimg with hurricane lanterns, hurricane drinks, etc.

I love the idea of using hurrican lanterns and you could do a treasure chest for the gift box, oh oh and you could get a starfish for in your hair! (you know i love starfish!!)

Oh the wheels are turning...hahaha

that would be very fun!!! i really like it. the tables could have lanterns, surfboards, and SAND (when i worked there, i always found sand everywhere! in my car, clothes, and my bed. don't ask me how. to this day it is still a mystery! :rotfl::rotfl:) almost like a wreaked beach theme. :cutie:

YES. That would be amazing!!! But so would the travel theme, or wine theme (clearly I have a slight obsession with the wine theme)

hmmm wine!! (fellow wino here! :rolleyes1) the travel theme could be very cool if we did it at Epcot!!:woohoo:

Thanks anyway! believe me any little bit helps.

so as an update. my DF has jumped on board with the whole theme idea. he however is thinking, and reeeaalllllllllyyy wanting a Alice in wonderland/Mad hatter theme. he has come up with save the date ideas, centerpieces, and even cake.:cutie: but he wants to add a bit the "tim burton" feel to it. im thinking of maybe just running with it. even though its been done. i think it would be fun and something that nether of our families and friends have seen before.

thoughts??

DO IT DO IT!!!!!!!!! Seriously you would make me so happy :rotfl: (I'm sure I'm not your priority)

But through my planning of looking for carnival/circus type stuff, I kept running into that theme, and it made me want to change. I actually found someone who had Mad Hatter Reception at disney (in the Wonder's of Life Pavilion). Here is the link, maybe it will give you some inspiration!

I think it's a great idea! Don't worry about it "being done" before. We hear about all this stuff because we're on these boards, but your guests will think it's very unique and I'm sure they will love it.

It would be cool to have Alice and the Mad Hatter come. We met them at 1900 Park Fare and they were great! The Mad Hatter is so funny and Alice is very sweet.

I think it's a great idea as well. My hubby and I are having the same theme, we want the whimsy of the original Alice in Wonderland movie and the darkness of Tim Burton's version. For the save the dates we are planning to use skeleton keys with a note attached to it and then for the invite a card that look like a key whole (kind of like the Ashley Simpson wedding invite). For centerpieces I'm using teapots on top of the teacups. You can probably buy some mad hatter hats and use them as centerpieces or for the save the dates an invite that looks like a deck of cards.

Check out my idea's maybe it will it can help you with your mad hatter theme...:thumbsup2

But i know what you mean about feathers. i never really liked them till i started wedding planning! i know im weird! :rotfl: but they would fit very well with the whole theme. but as for the stockings i am seriously think of wearing them! but wondering where to find them??

okay so i have been gone for a week. work has been nuts! we closed week for our yearly mantience, lets just say i have been working soooo hard that i feel like now that we opened back up to the public.... i feel like i should be doing something instead of catching up on the Disboards! :rotfl2: we painted like every inch of the building(including the floor), scrubbed way too many things, and setting up a new computer system.

but its nice to get back to a quiet, relaxing work week! (no more painting!!!)
they need a bubble bath tub icon. lol as for the wedding. I have been thinking of some save the date cards. i know i have got a while till i can send them off..... but im a such a procrastinator that i know it will take me FOREVER to get them done. i figure if i start now them maybe i'll get to my deadline. but i need to decide if we want to make them ourselves or have them done?

this is what i have found so far.

I forgot that your DF was living in another state. That must be so hard, especially with the baby, but I think it will make it all the sweeter when you can all be together! I hope it will be January for you!

Great idea about the towels! I went to walmart and got some paint chips from their paint dept and hope I can use those to have a concrete image of the colors I want.

Love all the Save the Dates, I think the first looks more like an invitation though and I think it would be really great as your invites! I'm a big fan of photo save the dates, so I would go with #2.

figment fan21

I like the third one if you changed the wording around! Any of them would work nicely but the third one is my favorite.... you could make it a care and have that on the front and then when you open it have a vintage picture of you guys like the second one with all the information.... You could say like "don't be late for this very important date" instead of your invited to a tea party or something along those lines... Did all the make sense? lol

Of all the Save the Dates you posted, I like the first one best. Are you going to use bright colors for your Save the Dates or go with something a little more muted?

If you're thinking of making them yourself, I highly recommend getting whatever supplies you can from Cards and Pockets. They're prices are the best I've seen and they let you buy stuff "by the piece" instead of bundled into packages of 20 - 25.

Keep it coming! MORE GOOD STUFF! :upsidedow

so here is a tiny little update... it could effect the wedding or not.
Last night Mike told me that he would not be able to graduate until March 2010 now. all because of one class! he has gone to counselors and met with others to only be shot down of ADDING one small online class to the fall semester. they say he already has a full load, which is understandable..... i guess. :confused3 now he is a little disappointed that he has to wait another semester. but he also made a final decision, he is going to go for the OTS, Officer Training School for the Air Force, after he grads. that school is a 12 weeks. which would mean that we wouldn't get to be together until june/july 2010! :guilty:
what does this mean for us wedding wise..... well we may have to get married sooner. so we may change the wishes wedding into vow renewal for a later date. or change it to escape wedding for a sooner date. this is something we really need to talk about.

now the big news!!! he asked that anthony and i move up to michigan with him as soon as we can. I have thought a LOT about this and i have accepted. which makes me very very HAPPY!!! :lovestruc i got a lot to do and very little time to do it in. but i will let you all know what the moving plan is when we figure it out!
but for right now i feel like :dance3:

If you're thinking of making them yourself, I highly recommend getting whatever supplies you can from Cards and Pockets. They're prices are the best I've seen and they let you buy stuff "by the piece" instead of bundled into packages of 20 - 25.

Keep it coming! MORE GOOD STUFF! :upsidedow
:rotfl: Skittles colors, i never even thought of that till you mentioned it! but maybe your right, adding a bit more of the fuchsia and purple will make it more passionatey?
I really like color (cant you tell? hee hee) so i would probably go with color for both the std's and the invites. and thanks for the info about Cards and Pockets. i will definitely be looking into those!

Awww Nicole that is great news!! Hopefully you guys will still be able to have the wedding you wanted but moving closer to him is wonderful!!!

Congratulations!!!! That's AMAZING news!!!

Please keep us posted as to what you guys decide :goodvibes

That is great that you are finally going to be together!!:goodvibes

It is hard that it alters your wedding plans, but the important thing is that you will be together! I'm sure whatever happens will be great!

YAY!!!! I'm glad you two can be together!!! Its a pain that he is one class shy of graduating though... thats terrible.

If it were up to me, which it clearly is not, i'd so do an escape wedding with a sooner date. hehehe Keep us posted on what you decide!

thanks ladies! I have been in a chipper mood all day yesterday and all of the morning!! so the planned move date is October 24th. our new home would be in Ray Township, MI, that's just north of Detroit, into my future in-laws house till we can either get our own place or until after Mike finishes training. which isn't bad, i actually get along with his family. the one downer is his mom is allergic to animals. so my big lap dog is gonna stay here with my mom for now. Mike and his father are gonna drive down here (i cant talk them outta of it) to help me load up a uhaul trailer onto their truck and move us up. i should take about 2 days drive. I'm starting to look for jobs, and maybe i'll be more aggressive when i'm up there for my birthday!

okay so i have been gone for a week. work has been nuts! we closed week for our yearly mantience, lets just say i have been working soooo hard that i feel like now that we opened back up to the public.... i feel like i should be doing something instead of catching up on the Disboards!

Hi,

I'm interested to know where you found the 2 bottom invites? I know the first one is from www.etsy.com...

i know i have been gone a while. im sorry. why is moving so stressful?

oka i need to vent....
When I first met my FIL’s, is Dad is uber sweet. I can soo see my FI turning into the same man. However his Mom, she pulled me aside and blamed me for her son’s decisions. Claiming that I was keeping him from his dreams, goals, and for not returning to school. I explained to her that I wasn’t and actually I was trying to get him to go back to school even if that meant he had to move back to Michigan. At the time they didn’t know I was 5 weeks along with our son Anthony. 2 weeks later they found out. FFIL= happy. FMIL= I was now everything she thought plus stubborn, selfous, and stupid for wanting to keep it. She demanded I give it up for adoption. She thought I was too young. I was 24. I stood my ground and said “I am keeping my child” She was upset until she laid her eyes on Anthony about a month after he was born. Sense then we have tried to keep peace, its worked so far. But now we are going to be moving into her home until we find a place of our own. I’m worried, maybe it will all be alright….. maybe not. My mother has always had problems with her in laws. I saw how that affected her relationship with my father and how it affected us kids. I never wanted that for me and my family. My FI thinks I’m crazy and that it will all be alright. I feel like its hard to talk to him about this, she mom and I’m the future wife. Sorry I just need to talk to someone. Thanks for listening.

ill updated soon with some wedding details.

I'm sorry this is stressing you out! I know for so many people (including myself) that dealing with your significant others family can easily become the biggest source of tension. Since she is letting you stay with her for awhile, she cannot feel super negatively towards you, and hey, at least it is saving you money (that can go towards other things....like a DFTW??!!???). I hope everything works out and you start to feel better!

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I can't believe some of the things your DFMIL said to you, hopefully she now realizes how stupid some of the things she said were and is trying to make things right by letting you guys live there until you find your own place? I think the only thing you can really do is try to make the best of it for now and it will all work out. Feel free to vent to us anytime!

Aww Nicole I am so sorry you are going through this. Your FMIL sounds exactly like my EXFMIL!!! She blamed me for my exhusband not finishing is masters IMMEDIATELY after his bachelors and said I forced him into marrying me. It is so hard to not get along with your FIL's but just remember that you Df loves you and that's all that matters. You can't control what other people do (I'm still learning this one!) and that sometimes you just have to be the bigger person no matter how much it hurts or makes you angry. It's admirable that you do your best to get along with your FMIL for the sake of your child.

Hi! I am late getting to your PJ, but I love everything! The second BM dress is my favorite, but I love that blue color. It is definitely very AIW.

Also, your son is so darn cute. That's awesome that he is a swimmer! I grew up in Florida, so I am all for kids who love the water!

As for the FMIL, I think it will be hard living in her house, but hopefully it won't take too long. And I think you will just need to figure out how to handle a lot of the things she says and does. My FMIL is wonderful, but I get very nervous when we tell her things sometimes because her thing is that "she has a right to give her opinion." Luckily, DF's answer is always, "and we have a right not to take it." I think about that response every time she makes a comment about something we're doing. It seems like it takes her a while to process big announcements too, so I always have to plan for that.
You'll be fine as long as you and Mike stick together! ;)

I love your dress as well. It's so fun and I think that if I had gone shopping in a bridal salon, I would have ended up with something similar! Very pretty.

Can't wait to hear about your move... I wish I could help because we love helping people move in my family!

UPDATE:
so today is a very big day (as least for DF) he is meeting with the recruiter for the Air Force. he is getting information and lots of his questions answered, but out of all his questions the one i want him to get an answer for is..... would it be better to get married before or after he enters the air force?
if the answer is
after= then we keep our original date of Febuary 9, 2011 at WDW
before= then we have 5 months to plan a wedding! and then we have to decide if we want wdw or something more simple.

ill let you all know the answer soon!

AIR FORCE
okay so here is what we know........ so far

1st, Mike has to be married before he signs up for the Air Force. which IF he planned to, then he would sign up after graduation (late march) so he would sign up in April/ May.
that would mean 6 months from now!!! AWWW!!! well at least i have my dress right! haha :yay:
2nd, the OTS is only accepting for Engineering Graduates only. (that seems odd to me) so if he joined he would have to join as a regular inlistee. which is something he is not really wanting to do.

he has more questions to ask before he makes a final decision.

MOVING:
my last day of work is Wednesday. im a bit sad to go but happy to be starting a new chapter in my life. we got a little nervous last week because at one point Mike's boss scheduled him to work the weekend he was to help me drive up there. but things got sorted out! (thank goodness) so thursday Mike and his Dad are gonna fly in to Albuquerque. His dad's brother lives there, visit with them for a night, then drive the 2.5 hours to my home in Taos with a uhaul. we will pack it up friday. we hope to drive out about 6am on saturday the 24th. it will be about 1600 miles and about 30.5 hours drive. we hope to stop in Omaha, NE to rest. Mike and his dad will drive the uhaul, my mother will ride with AJ and me as we follow in my car.
im about 75% packed. just have the tiny stuff to go through. did i mention i hate packing! you never realize how much ....(um, think of an appropriate word)... stuff you collect! :rotfl:

that is what i was think too. if he does enlist he can be an officer later, but it may take a BIT longer than he wants. so im not sure what he will choose. are you trying to add another member to your family? or do you mean that you will get to be a stay at home mommy for your little princess?
