Hellooooo Everybody! Jon and I just returned from our fabulous 2nd WDW trip! Man, I gotta tell ya, this was such a fantastic trip! Even though, it was only 4 nights in the "world," we did so much and enjoyed ourselves. This getaway was much needed and I made the right choice with this surprise birthday gift, no returns or exchanges!
Ya'll will be so proud of me! I made a daily log with what we did and I have lots of food pics! Oh yes, I took pics of the food! Jenn inspired me and I didn't care what other people thought. Jon said, "Why are you doin' that?" And I reminded him how he enjoyed all the food porn from other TRs. He said, "Oh, okay!" So, he got use to me taking pics of everything.
So let's get started...shall we????? As Peter Pan says on his ride, "Off we gooooooo!!!!!"

Tuesday July 7th
I was up at the crack of dawn. I slept pretty good the night before. It really never hit me that we were going to Disney until I got the suitcases down from the closet. Then, I got this look from our youngest daughter......
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2573.jpg
She does this all the time when we go out of town. She sees the suitcases and starts giving us the "eyes!" It tears me up! :sad2:
As for her big sis......
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2572.jpg
She could careless. She was ready for the house sitter to come so she could scam some extra puppy treats out of her. We love our girls!
There was no rush to get ready for our flight out. Jon's dad was planning on taking us to the airport. We flew right out of Asheville (AVL) and our "airport" is 10 minutes from our house. It was so nice not to worry about getting the car gassed up and serviced for the usual 607 miles and 10 hours on the interstate.
We did leave about noon and drove over to Jon's parent's house. We left our car there while we were gone. My in-laws live just down the road from us.
So, Jon's dad dropped us off at Asheville Regional Airport. Our airport is very small. It has only 2 gates! Security was a breeze! No major issues! I just knew that we would be told not to bring the Disney Pins on board the airplane! ;) You would think with the pin spikes, TSA would not allow them!
We were ready to go and waited about 45 minutes at the gate waiting area. Micheal Jackson's Funeral was just getting underway on TV so we just chilled until it was time to leave. I could not get over how every major freeway was shut down for Micheal's Funeral!!!!!
Here is Birthday Boy waiting for us to board!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2577.jpg
As you can tell, I caught him by surprise. "Oh, you are going to be doing your blog thingie so you are going to take pictures of everything!"
The flight was right on time and we boarded the plane 15 minutes before our 130p take off. The flight was booked and no empty seats! I'm so thankful Airtran decided to have nonstop flights to Orlando from Asheville! Lot's of families were on board too, so Im sure they were all headed to the same place we were headed. :)
Our plane landed 15 minutes early! We were at MCO in 1 hour 15 mintues! Jon and I were both in amazment! We were soooo happy that we didn't have to drive for 10 hours on the interstate! Flying has spoiled us both snice our NYC trip!
The Magical Express Counter was easy as pie! We approached the CM that was directing everyone where to go. We had chose to let Tinker Bell deliver our lugage to our room, so we just had to show her our Magical Express Booklet and we were off to our bus.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2585.jpg
We did not have to wait at all! Once we boarded, we were off to WDW!
Here we are on the bus.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2584.jpg
Excuse my hair, I have not had a haircut in a long time. I was planning to let my hair grow out, but that all changed on this trip. You will see later on what happen :cool2:......
So, the bus left the airport. There was a cute video of Disney Characters showing what to do when you get to your resort. I just listen to my Ipod and Jon kept updating his freinds on his facebook. He never leaves home without his blackberry.....
So we arrived at the Wilderness Lodge! OMG! Love it! Love it! Love it!
We walked in the main door and it was so nice not having to lug our bags with us. Love the Magical Express!!!! We both just stopped just inside the lobby and our mouths just hit the floor! I was just waiting for Michael Landon and the entire cast of Oklahoma! to come out and start singing! :lmao: WL is so cool!!! Loved it! Jon and I just looked at one another. Jon said, "Oh honey thank you so much, this is the best most wonderfulest present I have ever gotten in my life!!!" I just started to cry.....yes, I am a wuss, but I couldn't help it......;)
So, we go and check in with Cora and she was from Phillipeans. (I hope I spelled that right.) It took 4 minutes and Cora said "Happy Birthday Jon, I hope you have many many more birthday to come. You have fun! Now go to right and follow sign!" She was so sweet!
We followed the signs...and walked to the Villas. For those you that don't know. The Villas at WL are connected via a beautiful walk way from the main lodge.

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2609.jpg
Welcome Home!
We walked into the Villas lobby. Just amazing....so beautiful!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2604.jpg
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2603.jpg
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2606.jpg
The decor of it all says enough. It reminded me a lot of cabins we have stayed at in Tennessee. Very rustic, but very elegant.
Continued in the next post.......(gosh, I had taken a lot of pics!)

Our Room was 4561. All the wayyyyyy downnnn the hall! It was a hike! It was the 2nd to the last room on the forth floor. It was very quite, but far away from everything else. It was nice!
So, Jon opens the door and we walk in.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2668.jpg
Our "Welcome Home" packet.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2590.jpg
Towel Animal! ;)
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2665.jpg
Another Towel Animal....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2591.jpg
We had a queen studio.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2592.jpg
Very cozy sitting area.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2587.jpg
Compared to SSR's studio, this bathroom was a little smaller. The shower curtain reminded me of Blanche's bedroom on the Golden Girls..... It was nice!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2586.jpg
Loved the colors used in the decor.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2589.jpg
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2588.jpg
Very handy kitchenett with fridge for all those leftovers from lunch and dinner.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2598.jpg
"I wonder if we are gonna see any alligators."
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2595.jpg
It was very "wilderness" view, but we really didn't use the balcony all that much. It was a nice addition.
It had been raining when we had arrived. We didn't let the gloomy weather damp our spirits!
So we continued on looking around the room and had a potty break!
We left our room and head out to explore the Wilderness Lodge. Again, I can't say how beautiful this place is.....
Here are some more pics to share....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2612.jpg
I even loved the lamp posts....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2610.jpg
WL has so much to offer!!!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2605.jpg
Somebody was enjoying those comfy rockers in the lobby....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2615.jpg
Honestly, I have to say this, I felt like I was 8 years old again and my Lincoln Logs had just taken steroids....

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2614.jpg
Did I say how much I like the lamp posts? :rotfl:
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2620.jpg
Mr. Pin Trader was in heaven. WL has their own Pin Trading Cart in the main lobby!

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2618.jpg
I couldn't resist.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2626.jpg
We did finally make our way outside.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2622.jpg
Okay...that's enough for now....
Stay tuned.....We head to DTD next!!!!!

It is! Very beautiful! We didn't go to Artist Point, but that could be a plan in the future. I did sort of glance in the Territory Lounge...very cool! Love the bear theme... ;)

Hey Jackskellingtonsgirl...BTW, Jon LOVES your name....he loves Jack Skellington. You two would have a lot to talk about it! OMG, so you saw a snake??? I had that feeling that we were going to see one when we were out on the trails....we didn't see any, but a great place for them to come wiggling through! Glad you are joining in!!! :goodvibes

Okay! Let's move on! Thanks to you all with all the sweet comments! I've always loved a new fresh TR!!!! I hope everyone continues to enjoy!!!
We continued to enjoy the WL scenery on our way to the Bus Stop. So here are a few more WL pics to enjoy!!! I didn't want to leave these out.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2632.jpg
These pics were taking in the main lobby. That place is just so huge! I love the music that they pipe through the speakers there....gives it that Wilderness Lodge feel....I could have sworn I heard that song they use to play on that commercial, "Beef, Its what's for Dinner.." Jon said that he was just waiting for the Chuck Wagon to come rushing through the main lobby! :lmao: The theming there is so right!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2631.jpg
We stopped by the Davy Crockett section of the retail store in the lobby....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2629.jpg
A CM offered to take our pics together.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2630.jpg
And since I took the time to take these pics of the courtyard....I might as well post.....

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2628.jpg
The Pool was closed. It seem like if the sun went in and the clouds came out, they closed the pool. I did notice the Pool Bar had a TV screen on the weather station and if the radar showed signs of anything but sunshine they closed down, I guess it better safe than sorry. I was ready to go down that slide!!!!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2623.jpg
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2625.jpg
The stream from the falls does actually empty out in the pool. So cool!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2633.jpg
Okay...on to the Bus Stop. Okay, I have to say this and I hate to be all fussy. The Bus System for WL did not make any sense to me. But who am I to say anything about it....anyway.....The DTD Disney Bus shares with guests staying at GF. You would think with WL as large as the property is, it would have its own bus system and not share with anyone else. JMO. Anyway... we got on the bus and we were off to GF to pick/drop more guests. It took like an extra 10 minutes.....anyway....we were finally at DTD after about a 20 minute ride. We were both starving!!!
We were finally at DTD Marketplace! The Bus Stop is right over by one of favorite places from our last trip.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2639.jpg
We were ready to eat!!!! Our DDP was burning a hole in my pocket!!!!
Okay, I have to start another post or I will not be able to post the pics you guys really want to see!!!!

We arrive at Wolfgang Puck's Express. We were wanting to try Earl of Sandwich which was also nearby and Jon insisted that we eat at Wolf's again....I'm glad that he insisted! It was awesome!!!
This restuarant counts as a Counter Service or a Quick Service...both are the same....
I had the Meatball and Parm Pizza....(Oh, Im so excited to post this....)
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2636.jpg
This was the bomb. Yeah, NYC pizza is great, but this was really good. It was so fresh and the cheese was just so good. The sauce was not heavy. The Meatballs tasted so homemade! Loved it! Perfect 10!
Jon had the pepperoni and mushroom. Very good also! The shrooms were very tasty! He gave it a 10 also!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2638.jpg
And for dessert, we both had the Creme Burlee` and it was also fantastic! (Jon wanted me to add this....MMMMMM So good!) And I titled our TR MMMM So good! Why? Jon and I always read the dining reviews on here and the person reviewing always comes back with a "MMMMMM, so good!" So, we joked the whole trip and everytime we ate something, we would both say..."oh....Mmmmmm so good!" ;))
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2637.jpg
The sugar coated top was very nice and not over done like some places do it. It was very creamy on the inside! Nice choice! The other dessert choices were cookies and brownies....and they looked good too!
I would have to say if you are the DDP, use Wolfgang Puck's Express as your CS credit.....definately worth it! It comes with your drink also. So, the total price for 2 on this meal was $43.77. We did leave a small tip of $5. Even though its a counter service meal, the staff does come out and check on you and fill up your drinks! Highly recommended! :thumbsup2
After dinner we strolled all the way down DTD to the Westside......so here are a few pics I snapped on the way....
Well, we didn't get too far. The Pin Trading Store was next door from where we ate dinner.

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2641.jpg
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2642.jpg
I will admit, I like the pin trading, but Jon is now hard core. It was HIS trip so we did what he wanted to do....he was in heaven so let him enjoy.
They came up with new Limited Edition Pins for the Small World Characters and those were popping up and had me all in a tissie.....so Jon looked around and made a purchase.
We got these....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2644.jpg
The Pin Trader Store in DTD is a Pin Collectors Dream....I would call it some other kind of dream, but I will refrain and remember this is a family board....;)
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2621.jpg
We continued on.....and we began to feel the July Crowds...this place was packed, but did go in for a bit.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2645.jpg
Jon needed some new supplies for his salon, so he picked out this....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2655.jpg
It was so jammed pack in the World of Disney. It was nuts!!!! So we strolled on down futher....

SSR, our 1st home! And I hear that there's a hunk of a man that makes the best drinks in town at SSR! Sorry, that we didn't have a chance to go pay a visit to him.....:sad1:
We continued to stroll....

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2646.jpg
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2653.jpg
Okay, so we run into these guys.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2651.jpg
You can tell by the look on my face something did happen....LOL!
The guy that is sort of kneeling down made a comment....it was all good, but he was either flirting with me or just being down right crude. He said, and I quote, "Let me get a little closer so you want have to strain your neck, I mean, so I can get in the picture...." I took it all in fun and said, "yeah, you wish...."
So we contined on.....
There was the new Princess Diana Exhibit Opened. It looked interesting, but it was a fee of $14 to go and tour the Exhibit. We refrained. I refuse to pay on Princess Di's Legacy. I just felt like someone was still banking on her death that happened over 10 years ago....Im sure that Micheal's death will be carried on the same way....okay, I will hush now! LOL!
Okay, I have told you guys about a new hobby that we have just gotten into. I can't really go into detail with it but for those of you that know about Letterboxing, there's a clue that is hidden in DTD. So, Jon and had to go to the very end of DTD on the westside over by Parking Lot Q to find a Letterbox. Long story short, Disney Security came by and told us that we needed to get out of the bushes. We explained to them what we were doing and they were totally cool with it, but they said that Disney was trying enforce the no Letterboxing and Geogaching activities on the resort property. They were really cool about it and said it was just to keep everyone safe. We agreed and left the location. For those you that are into the LetterBox Hobby will understand what I am saying here.......
So we turned back around from the back parking lots and contined to stroll back down towards the Marketplace. I had stopped taking pics at this point....but we did stroll through the shops and just kind of window shopped.
I have to stop here....I have to post more pics so I am going to continue on another post....;)

We did make it finally back to the Marketplace and we made a stop here....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2661.jpg
And it was also very busy, but I was ready for my Pretzel Rods.....dang, I love this place.
For $3.75, you get to choose 3 pretzel rods dipped in either milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2656.jpg
I had choosen all 3 of my rods in milk chocolate.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2658.jpg
And you get a choice to "coat" your rods with all kinds of goodies....
(Wally, behave now! :lmao:)
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2657.jpg
This was my finished product....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2676.jpg
#1 was crushed oreos, the 2nd was Peanut Butter chips, and the 3rd was Butterfinger crumbs....
MMMMMMMMM So Good.........and you can use a Snack Credit from the DDP if you choose to do so....
It took about 30 minutes for the crew to make my request, I just stood there at the counter and just drooled the whole time.....
While waiting, I took a pic of this gigantic rice krispie head.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2660.jpg
Leave it to Disney to charge $50 for this.....if anyboby wants me to make them one, I can do it for free! :stir:
So, it was getting late and we decided to head back to the ranch...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2663.jpg
We waited FOREVER for the bus back to WL.....I am thinking that WL was not fully booked and they decided that one bus was going to be enough....we were packed on the bus....keep in mind there were GF guests on the bus also.....
So we get back "home" and we saw that our bags arrived.....thank God, I was scared something was going to happen.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%201/IMG_2664.jpg
We wanted to go swimming before the pool closed at midnight....we had fun! Love the pool area! We both played in the main pool and the quiet pool....the water was nice and had just a bit of chillness in the water...very relaxing....

Yes, I got a new swim trunks...Old Navy, on clearance for $5!
So, we closed down the pool and went back and to get ready for bed. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow!
On our way back...I couldn't resist on taking a picture of another lamp post.....

I told Jon that our new hobby was going to get us in trouble! Anyway, we love the whole Letterboxing craze!...Its just like a huge scavenger hunt! There's "boxes" hidden all over the globe, WDW has like 18, and we only found 2 on this trip...
Anyway, the whole incident at DTD was funny, the sercurity folks were nice and Im glad that Jon and I didn't have our pants down! LOL!

New Day! July 8! This was a interesting day! We both woke up really early, it was like 630am. The clock radio was our wake up call. Static Radio music.... But we were up and ready to go. We got ready and headed to Roaring Fork for breakfast. This is the WL's only CS dining place. It was nice, but their selections were not as good as the Artist's Palet at SSR. (SSR has biscuits and gravy! mmmmmmm) Anyway, it was a beautiful morning and we decided to eat our breakfast poolside.
So we order our breakfast. Jon and I get the samething and we use 2 of our counter service credits. And this is what we got......
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/IMG_2677.jpg
The Bounty Breakfast Platter....aka, carb fest 2009..and bountiful it was! It came with eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes and a big ol biscuit! It also came with juice and another beverage of choice. Jon, of course got coffee and I got a diet coke. It was very heavy meal and we could have shared one plate. It was good, but just okay good. Nothing to write home about. I can tell you that this hearty breakfast keep us going through our busy day. What I really enjoyed was sitting outside while the pool area was quite. I felt like Miss Ellie on Dallas! :lmao: (Okay, if you have been reading all of my reports, I have this thing for 80's Primetime Soap Operas, don't ask me why, I just do! ;))
And here is Jock waiting for J.R. and Bobby. Sue Ellen was still upstairs after having another rough night at South Fork....:lmao:

So, Jon and I were talking and we were just enjoying ourselves poolside and we just decided to take everything slow and just enjoy everything without rushing. This is when I began to think about all the planning I have done before. I think in the future, we are just going to plan ADRs ahead of time, like we always do and not plan park days more in depth.
Anyway, we were just enjoying a nice Florida Morning together in a nice setting. Here are some pics of the peaceful morning....

The Wildlife was nice to see! After all, we were at the Wilderness Lodge....
So, we head over to the Bustop. We waited about 10 minutes. The bus arrived and we had to wait for a family with a scooter to hop on too. Then the bus headed over to the GF. We had to wait again for another family with a scooter. Folks, if you are schedule and using the Disney Bus System, allow ample time. This ride to AK took about 30 minutes from start to finish.
We arrived at Animal Kingdom and it was getting hot.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1921.jpg
Rope drop had occured an hour earlier. It was okay that we missed it. But the crowds were heading in. Lots and lots of groups with similar tee shirts on carry pennet flags.....:scared1:
As we went through the ticket gates, everyone was heading left once crossing the bridge. We headed right.....looking for the forbidden mountain....

It was around 9:15am and the Fast Passes for EE was at a return time of 10am-11am. The Stand By line was at a 30 minute wait. We decided to grab Fast Passes for EE and wait in the Stand By line also. The line was actually like a 20 minute wait.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1931.jpg
So we hopped on. We were in row number 3 which was a perfect seat on the train.

Here's HoneyLamb looking ready to see the Yeti....
We really enjoyed our morning on EE, very nice! And we were excited that we could ride again. The Stand By line had jumped to 40 minutes after we left EE.
So, with EE Fast Passes in hand, we decided to take a potty break and split a bottled water. I was starting to feel a little queezy, I was okay to walk around, but I didn't say anyting to Jon. I just keep saying it was hot....:confused3 Jon kept saying if was okay....I was, but I didn't want him to start worrying about me.
We hopped on Kali River Rapids. We didn't ride this back in January, so it was exciting to see another AK attraction we had not experienced yet. The stand by line was 20 minutes. Sorry, no pics. I was afraid that I was going to get our camera wet. Enjoyed the ride, it was a quick ride! We did not get wet, so we were lucky. There was a family that got soaked! It was fun seeing them have some fun with all the surprise splashes....
We headed back to EE to use our Fast Passes. We were on the EE again within minutes.....we sat in the middle this time around and enjoyed it. After we left the 2nd time, I really started to feel sick. But I didn't let Jon know about it. I just felt light headed.....I was thinking it was just the heat...but again, it could have been EE. Not sure....:confused3
Continued on the next post........

So we headed over to Africa. The park started to get a little crazy with the crowds so Jon and I decided to chill on the Safari Ride and head over to the Noon showing of The Festival of Lion King.
We walked over to the Safari Enterance and it was at a 30 minute wait. We asked the CM at the enterance how long it would take on the ride and he said about 2 weeks....Jon and I both laughed and enjoyed everyone being in character.
Here are the pics of our journey....

They wouldn't let me give Jon back to his natural habitat.
The safari was educational and interesting. I became more light headed and I could not figure out what was wrong with me. Jon knew then something was wrong with me. I told him I was fine, I was ready to see the Lion King Show. So we went over to Camp Mickey/Minnie and got in line for the 12pm show. Everyone else was there too. We waited about 15 minutes and the doors opened. It was nice to sit in the AC for awhile. The show started and the cast came out and did their intros. We were labled as the Elephant section....
As soon as the main show started, the cast came out as the lights went dim. Just as Simba was rising...then all of a sudden......the lights came back on and backstage CMs came rushing out. I am assuming the CM that was a part of the show threw his back out and could not move :confused3 Then the annoucement came, "Ladies and Gentlemen, This showing of the Festival of the Lion King has been canceled." I was like :scared1: Jon was pissed. But I just kept saying "I hope the performer is okay!" So, we left the theater......
Jon and I started to walk out of Camp Mickey and I felt like I was going to pass out. All I can remember at this point was seeing a the ice cream cart and a bench with 3 little girls. I said to them, "Excuse me, I have to sit down....and the family was more than greatful and let me sit down. That's all I remember at that point. It was like that part in the movie, Sixteen Candles, when the daughter is being brought down the isle at her wedding and she looks at the people sitting in the pew and says,,,"Move over, I gotta rest!" I was okay.....
The next thing I saw was Jon beside me with a Chocolate Covered Banana Pop and a big bottle of water......I guzzled the water down b/c I had a dry mouth and I wolfed down the banana pop.....I don't know what was wrong with me, either it was my sugar dropping or I was having heat issues.....
Anyway, I was fine and we left AK and headed back to lodge........before gettign back on the bus, we stopped at Guest Relations to see their pin book for pin trades.
What a morning.....;)
Next up, A Nature Trail Adventure and DHS!

Rosie, Im so glad you are loving it all! We love EE and Im wondering if that was the cause of my issues.....
And yes, its b/c of the shrimp they eat.....;)
Why yes they do! - By Crikey!

So continuing on with Day number 2.....
We got back on the bus to head back to WL. By now, Jon's breakfast was wearing off and it was getting time for some lunch. The plan was to go back to Roaring Forks and get some lunch, take it back to the room and change for the pool. It took FOREVER to get back to WL from AK. I failed to mention before about the bus ride that morning, it also made a stop at Blizzard Beach. So before heading back to WL, we had to make another stop at Blizzard Beach then back to WL. You could tell that the folks going back to GF were fustrated as everyone else.
So we head back to WL and we stop and picked up lunch to take back to the room. We just ordered one meal and we got this......this was 1 CS credit...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/IMG_2687.jpg
Roast Beef with crumbled blue cheese and creamy dill sauce. It came with macaroni salad, bag of chips (we could have got a dessert, but we got chips instead) and drink.
It was very tasty. Jon and I were able to split it and it was perfect to tie us over for dinner later that evening. The roast beef was paired well with the cheese and I like the dressing that went on it. The CM that fixed the sandwhich looked at me stranged when I asked him to remove some of the bread inside the roll.....the roll was huge and I don't like a lot bread with my meat.....overall the lunch was good.....;)
Jon said that he felt like he had been in a car wreck from riding EE 2 times....I guess he really felt like he was approaching his 40's....:confused3...so he got on the floor to stretch out....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/IMG_2688.jpg
After an afternoon with a good lunch and self healing seminar....we decided to go on a letterbox hunt. We changed into our swim gear and flip flops and I sprayed down with some sunscreen and headed out in the "Wilderness." There was a clue that led us to the Nature Trail located on the WL grounds. We both like to hike back home in the moutains in Asheville so we were excited to see a little Florida nature.....
I was scared to find snakes and alligators so we were cautious on our hunt for the box.....
And we did find it! Yay! And it didn't take long......
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1952.jpg
So we did our thing and documented our find in our Letterbox Log Book.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1954.jpg
We are truly addicted to this new hobby and it was fun to add it to our trip at Disney. Each box contains a booklet documenting everyone that has found it and its cool to read about the other fellow boxers who sloved the clue....:goodvibes
We headed back down the trail to go swimming at the pool and to grab a cocktail at the pool bar. I was feeling much better by this time until I heard a roar of thunder come across the MK Resort Area.....
So, the hunky lifegards started to tell folks to get out of the pool.....it was going to be closed down until the afternoon storm passed away.....and there I stood with all that sunscreen on! :guilty:
What did we do then? We go and grab a snack
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1957.jpg
I got to craving for something sweet and nutty.....A MAGIC BAR!!!!
All I got say is mmmmmmmmmm so good!!!!!! It's a combination of cookie type graham crackers with chocolate chips and buttersotch. Also, there's nuts and coconut.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm goood! Love them! I used one snack credit for it....;) I have the receipe now!!!! Yum Yum!
So we head back to the room to change back in our park attire. I had to jump in the shower to get that sun screen off of me. I felt like I had primed my skin with Kelz Paint Primer.....nasty stuff!
We were ready to hit DHS! So we hopped on the bus and off we went. But 1st there was a stop at Ft. Wilderness to pick up some folks there.... The bus ride took forever again.....by this time, I wish we had a car....anyway...we arrived at MGM, I mean Hollywood Studios...whatever its called now.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1958.jpg
It was jammed packed here folks! All the Fast Passes were taken at just about every ride, except for Tower or Terror...
We knew it was going to be a busy week, so we didn't care. We had some more Letterbox clues to slove that were in DHS, so we spent some time doing that. Sorry, I can give any more details on our finds......we did some shopping too. There was another cute gay couple we met at a pin trading cart that was looking for Woody from Toy Story and we had one. They had nothing to trade so we just gave it to them.
We had a 540p ADR at....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1959.jpg
We walked on over to Sci-Fi
Jon loves this place....it was one of his favorites last trip!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1960.jpg
So, we check in and we waited. And waited. And waited. And waited some more.....It had just started to storm again and the folks that were finished with dinner actually stayed at their "cars" until the rained lifted. We actually were "parked" by 6:15pm. The CMs were sorry for the wait...we understood, you just can't run off guests after they finished dinner....they have every right to stay as long as they want, but people, we were hungray!
Our car hop was the percious and cutie pie Ryan. And he was fabulous! He took our orders....such a sweet guy!
Jon had a cherry coke and and I had a diet vanilla coke. For our meals we ordered these...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1965.jpg
Jon's choice, and it was excellent. He loved it and cleaned his plate. I like it too! Big ol plump shrimp...mmmmmm
I got the ribs....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1966.jpg
They were okay.....kind of fatty, but some good peices here and there. I got fries to go with it.
For dessert we got .....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1967.jpg
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake.....mmmmmmmm so good! Loved it.
Jon got a hot fudge sundae but I did not take a pic of it.....
So we enjoyed the show....we were in the back seat of the car....;)
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1961.jpg
Ryan, our car hop, came back with some moist towel packets and said "Here's some protection for you guys....." We just cracked up and he just winked.....you go Ryan Boy! ;)
After dinner, we went under the hat to buy.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1969.jpg
Yep, you guessed it....MORE PINS!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1971.jpg
It was all good! Jon had a ball adding to his collection....btw, we have over 500 pins now. Had a total of zero since the beginning and that was in January this year!!!
Okay, I have to take a break now....Photobucket is killing me!
Next up...a Magical Surprise!!!!!!

I will tell you riding EE makes my head feel weird. I can handle it once or twice, but after the second time the backwards part makes me feel strange. I will also tell you that we never manage to spend more than a couple of hours at AK because we go in the summer and it is just sweltering. One of the managers at Boma told us AK is typically 10 degrees hotter than any of the other parks. The other thing about AK is that the air doesn't move so you feel like you are suffocating.
Jon is a BRAVE boy to lay down on the floor in a hotel room. :scared: Ick.
The transportation at WL just about sent me over the edge. We were there for 9 nights in Aug. '07 and it was really hard to judge travel times because you never knew how many stops there would be before you actually arrived at your destination. That, and the fact that the (EMPTY) bus to WL from DTD blew right by us without stopping. We ended up riding the bus back to the Contemporary and taking a boat to WL. Insane. :sad2:
It's amazing how fast the pins multiply. We have recently decided not to bring our entire stash of traders. We are each bringing about 50 pins to trade, and we have agreed to leave our lanyards in the room some days. DH and DS swear they best night of the trip last year was the night I was sick and they went to MK by themselves WITHOUT me and WITHOUT the pin lanyards. :guilty: Made me kind of sad.

You learn something new everyday on here....I had no idea that it was hotter at AK!
Im glad that its not just me on the side effects of EE. I can take it maybe once or twice too!
I loved the boat transportation, after this trip...I detest the bus service at WL. It was so much better at SSR, JMO.
The Pins are all over our house. I was putting away our suitcases and I heard something rattle, and I looked inside and it was a dang pin!!!!!
I told Jon when he got on the floor, "now you have no idea who has been on the floor!" He didn't care, he said he helped his back..... :confused3
I didn't wear my landyard as much as Jon did, I kept pins in my pocket and just pulled them out when we started to trade with CMs.....

I returned back to work today......it was a rough one I tell ya.....Anyway, I'm excited that I could come back home and work on my TR for you guys!!!!!
So where were we???? Oh yes, we were shopping for pins under the hat at DHS!
I can't remember what we bought, but I do know we strolled down the main walkway towards the front after we left the "hat." Jon wanted to go by Guest Relations to look at their pin book. For those of you that don't know about this, each of the Theme Parks have a Pin Trading Book at the Guest Relations Desk...everyone is welcome to stop by and request the pin book and you are allowed to trade 2 pins. We always have good finds when we go.....Anyway.....we stop by DHS' Guest Relations and went inside. There's was no wait at all. That is when we made a new friend who worked there. I can't say her name, but she was really really sweet and kind to us! She said she was so happy to help us b/c all day she was handling all kinds of irrate guests. While Jon was looking through the pin book, the CM and I had a great conversation...I told her that I work in the same field and we shared stories. She was such a sweet person! Anyway, during our conversation, she noticed Jon's Birthday Button. She told us to stay put and enjoy the pin book, she would be right back. Jon and I continued to look at the pins.....
She came back and gave us these.......
FAST PASSES!!!!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1972-1.jpg
As I mentioned before, the crowds were at a high level for the day and all the fun attractions sold out of Fast Passes. What a nice surprise!!!!! We had a total of 6, so that meant that we could ride 3 attractions. We were so excited! I went back in Guest Relations and thanked her and gave her a big hug! Jon offered to give her a free service at his salon if she was ever in our neck of the woods....;)
We were like kids leaving the Candy Store......just so happy!:dance3:
I said to Jon, "Okay Birthday Boy...what we gonna ride?????" :goodvibes He just grinned and started skipping....:rotfl:
We sasshay-ed here.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1973.jpg
Oh how we love this ride....:lovestruc
The stand by line was 120 minutes....just crazy. The line was way out of the building.....
The Fast Passes for Toy Story Mania has it own Fast Pass...I guess they have a good supply of them on hand for all those folks that need a little "magic"...all the other Fast Passes she gave us had the fine print that read "Can not be used for Toy Story Midway Mania..."
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1974.jpg
So we hopped right in the Fast Pass line, we were on the ride in about 10 minutes, I just hated that we didn't pass by Mr. Potatoe Head :sad2:
Here are some pics of us in the que line....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1975.jpg

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1978.jpg

All the Childhood Games we loved as kids. I think one my Nephews has this one  Speaking of my Nephews, I can wait to bring my 2 little buddies here....they are going to love it!!!!
We were told by the CM to step in row....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1980.jpg
And off on the Midway we went!
And here are the results....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1983.jpg
I will let you guess who won.....
After Toy Story, we headed over to the Rockn Roller Coaster. By this time, I had put away the camera.
So we got backstage passes and jumped on the streched limo, no, make that a super streched.......
We enjoyed ride! So fun and love the music! The Stand By Line was 90 mintues.....
We wanted to check into the Hollywood Hotel and could have with no problem, the wait time for that was 30 minutes, but we decided to tour with Aerosmith again, per Jon's choice......
DHS was having Extra Magic Hours that evening and were opened till Midnight which was cool. The lines did get smaller at RnR, but we refrained from riding it a 3rd time. We were both getting tierd and decided to head into the Villians' Store....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1984.jpg
Love these two in Lady and Tramp.......
Of course Jon jumped to Jack's section.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%202/DSCN1986.jpg
So our night ended on a lovely bus trip back to the lodge......the bus was so packed. We waited 30 minutes for the WL bus. While we waited, we saw the POR and POP buses just continue to cycle through the bus depot.
We were back in the room by 1230ish and went to bed. Tomorrow was going to be a big day, Jon's 40th Bday!

If his birthday was on day three, why was he wearing a Birthday buttton on day two? :confused3
Hmmm were you scamming the system? :rotfl2:
Hell I would!
He got it at check in on the 1st day and I made him wear it all the days we were there! Jon didn't want to wear it and I said, "Dang it, wear it....!!!"
Later in the week, Jon said that he was going to wear again when we go in September! :lmao:
If I could stay anywhere at Disney I would first stay at The Contemporary cause it personifies my childhood ideal of Disney World; then I would stay at The Boardwalk because that area is so picturesque. :cloud9:
But Jeff I must say that flirting with the ladies to score Fastpasses is so mean...did Wally teach you that?
Im there with ya girl! I remember the Comtemporary being advertised on Sunday nights during The Worderful World of Disney TV thingie....
Well, I wouldn't call it flirting, really, I think she was just happy to assit some guests that were not yelling at her. ;) There were other folks in there yelling and screaming b/c something was not right.....I actually took some pics of the counter space they used in that area to share with my co-workers b/c we are suppose to be getting a new building at my work and we needed some ideas......
Awwww, Wally's not feeling the love today....
Oh, Wally....I luv ya...you always make me crack up!
Sorry your already back at work. :sad1: But OHHHH am I loving this TR!!! Isn't it great when your minding your own business and a CM just does something special like the free fast passes?? Just a little pixie dust here and there...:wizard:
Im glad you are loving it and I can't wait to start reading yours...;)
It was a nice suprise! We were loving the pin book and she actually let us trade more than 4! She was stricken with my gay southern charm...;)
Well I'm feeling warmth that's for sure.

July 9th, Thursday
Hey Everybody! Before I start this portion, I just want explain something. Rainy, gloomy weather does not set well for Jon. As for me, I rather just crawl back under the covers and not leave the house at all. We all know that is true to say the weather affects everyone moods and today verified that.....
Now, onto the big day, Jon turns 40 today!
I woke up about 9am which is late for us. It was nice sleeping in after an eventful day at DHS. I hopped out of bed and began to sing the Happy Birthday Day Song to Jon (without the Cha Cha Cha thingie, I hate that!) Anyway, Jon wakes up and says "Okay, its raining outside, my head is so stopped up and I'm not feelin' it this morning...." I went to the window and opened the curtains. And indeed it was raining, dark and so gloomy. I was thinking to myself, oh no! :scared1:
It's one thing to wake up and the sun is shining, but its another when you actually wake up to dark clouds and down pouring of rain. I refused to let us down!
I headed to the bathroom and started getting ready for our day. I had planned this day for breakfast somewhere at Epcot and visit the World Showcase, Jon loves the countries, esp. Japan. So, I thought that would be a good choice.....
While I was getting ready for the day, I kept hearing Mr. Birthday Boy in the sitting area of our room and the wrost mood ever. was setting in.....
"We are in the Sunshine State and look at all the Sunshine today...yeehaw!"
"Out of all the days..why rain today??"
"My shoulders and neck are not feeling the best today!"
And the grumpy comments just went on and on....
Jon is not a complainer....like I told you before, the nasty weather is to blame for this....
So, I head over to him with toothpaste in my mouth and toothbursh in hand, and I'm fresh out of the shower.....and I get on my soap box.....
"Look here, Mr. Chuckwagon (I don't know why I called him that, I guess I was in "Wilderness Lodge Mode")....today is your birthday and we are going to celebrate you entering a new decade, rain or shine, we are going to have fun and you will enjoy yourself....We are at Disney and we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge and we WILL have a great time today. Now get ready so I feed you breakfast and get some coffee in you!!!!"
I refused to let the weather ruin his birthday.
Jon went back to bed and I continued to get ready for the day. I was almost ready and Jon came over to the bathroom mirror while I was finishing up, and his lips were pooched out. He said, "Im sorry!" I told him he was fine....we shouldn't really let this weather get him all grumpy. I assured him it would pass. We will go to Breakfast and get some coffee and everything will be fine!
I was ready and Jon had just hopped in the shower. I was watching the channel on the TV where they show this Stacy girl (or was it Susan? :confused3) going around to the different parts of WDW and tells about the must do's.
Jon was talking to me while he was getting ready......
"I rather just hang out here if it's gonna be like this all day...or we can go to DTD. No parks today!!!"
Yeah, right.
So we headed out to the elevators and Jon said that he refused to have breakfast at a quick service location. He wanted to be "waited on" and have a nice breakfast and a good cup of coffee. Well, I am sure that all the sit down table services were booked and it was getting too late for breakfast. We went to the lobby and I was reminded that we have a full service restuarant right in our lobby at WL....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2113.jpg
Whispering Canyon can cure the blues! We had an ADR here for the next night, so I thought it would be cool to do a sort of a preview and see what it was like. I counted 4 families when we saw the dining area from the lobby. They were not busy at all.....
Seems like everything will work out good. WCC can put a smile on our faces!!!
We walk up to the check in counter and ask if we could be seated. The host said, "Well...I gotta go clean up a table so you are just gonna have to wait..." I said thank you. Jon did not like his tone and I was just thinking he was in character. I just smiled at Jon,while he was standing over by the Lincoln Logs in the waiting area. Jon says, "I hope he doesn't wait on us...." I said he was the host and he probably wouldn't. So, I begin to play with the Lincoln Logs. "Didn't you have these when you were a kid?" Jon just sort of smirked and by that time, we were called to be seated.
The restuarant was just about empty. Breakfast time was just about over, it was about 1030ish. We notice that one of the staff members was in character. She was in her WCC mode and was laughing and cuttin' up with other guests. I had hoped that she would be our server and hopefully she would cheer us all up.
Wrong.
Instead we get this other waitress. I would describe her as "Charm Free." I think she had just been experiencing a bad morning too. Everyone working in the restuarant, except for the one of the ladies, were in the worst moods. Just what we needed!
I will say this and leave the rest unsaid. I hate to focus on the negative....
The Food was really good. As for the service..... Very Very Very :sad2:
Here is what we ordered....
I had this....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN1987.jpg
A true southern delight and it was very good. I love me some BnG! You get 3 biscuits and container of hearty sausage gravy...mmmmmmm so good!
Jon had this...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN1988.jpg
Western Omlet with potatoes and biscuit. Jon said it was good. He also got his coffee fix too! So, everyone was feeling better since tummies were full.
So, the check comes, again, I refuse to go on about the service here and it was bad. We decided to pay out of pocket since it was under $20. To be exact, the bill was $16.37. Even with the bad service, we were fair with the tip. At first, I placed $40 (2 $20 bills) in the check holder thingie. It took her forever to come get the check and money. I kindly asked for change so that I could tip. She returned seconds later and there was no change. Jon called it to her attention and she just sort of rolled her eyes at us.....
And I will stop there....Honestly, I hate reporting on bad service......
I can tell you that we both enjoyed watching the other happy waitress entertain the other families that were there. They did the hokey pokey and did the "I need Ketchup!" thingie and it was fun to watch the kids playing around with this other waitress. And the food was really good here....
We leave and Jon was feeling better. He mentioned the weather was really working everyone this morning and he felt better now with coffee and a nice breakfast.
We made a rest stop and Jon headed to the WL's pin cart and I told him that I would meet him there, I needed to go "change my socks" back in the room....really, I headed over to the Concierge Desk to see if they could help me with something I saw on the Disney Florist Website. I was hoping to place a order for this cute Mickey Chocolate Birthday thingie and I just knew one of the ladies at this counter could help me. I went over to the counter with credit card in hand ready to order something for Jon to be delivered to our room. I asked the CM what I was looking for and she just sort of nodded her head and said....
"Well, all that stuff is really expensive and you will just might as well go next door to the retail store and buy something there."
Was she being lazy and not wanting to help me or was she really trying to save me some money???
I said, "Oh okay, so do they gift wrap? Will they deliver it to the room later today??"
She just looked at me like I was crazy and I explained again what I was looking for...she had no clue what was going on. I just said to her..."Okay...never mind!" And I left....
I went back to the restroom to see if I had a booger hanging out of my nose b/c no one waited to help me spread a little birthday joy....
I caught up with Jon at the pin cart. He was feeling a lot better by this time and he had found some good trades with the CM there at the pin cart. He also chit chatted with the DVC rep there about pins.
We walked outside and headed out to the pool area to survey the weather. It was starting to let up and the sun was wanting to shine. As we were walking outside, Jon noticed that I was not happy. I told him that I was fine nothing was wrong. I couldn't really say this lady just a second ago did not want to help me order a little surprise for you.....
With all this that happened put aside, I told Jon let's go jump on the boat. "Don't we need to get on the bus to Epcot?" I said, "No, we need a little magic...let's go to Magic Kingdom!!!:banana::banana:
So plans change and we go to the boat launch...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN1989.jpg
He started to smile... :) Weather was getting better....
In no time, our boat came...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN1991.jpg
So much better than riding a bus...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN1996.jpg
I wonder if EQ will let us stay with him in April????
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN1998.jpg
We were feeling better already!!!! ;) It was going to be another "Magical Day!"
After we left the boat, Jon said it was time for us to make the big leap. So, we took our tickets and upgraded to APs! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: We got a great deal with the card that Ms. Jenn sent us! Thank you Jenn!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/IMG_2689.jpg
I don't know what it is about the MK, but I was HAPPY that we decided to come here instead of the city of the future. We were feeling SO much better coming up Main Street!
Right when we entered and using our APs for the 1st time, The Celebrate Parade just started. Let me tell you, we couldn't asked for anything more special. At this point, I had stopped taking pictures and started video taping the parade. It was just awesome! The parade couldn't have started at a better time.....
The music or song "It's the time of your life....da da da da da la da...." was playing. Mickey and freinds were dancing to the beat of the music....it was just so cool....you had to be there to "feel it." There was a french lady that stood near us and she was screaming "La Per-Rod! La Per-Rod!" It was just another magical moment for us! I started to cry and Jon was balling too. After it was over, we just sort stood over by the barbar shop and got ourselves together. We hugged and kiss and I said,"Now, Happy Birthday, Hunny!"
We proceeded down Main St and made some more new freinds....

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/IMG_2691.jpg
They were so funny and were so nice to us. We talked for a little and we talked about Asheville. One of the ladies came out of character and just talked about how she wanted to move to Asheville....It was nice chatting with them ladies. When we moved on, Jon asked "What Disney Movie are they from?" "Pollyanna!" ;) I don't know....:rotfl:
Up next, Tomorrowland.....and meeting Obama!

Jeff, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your TR so far!!

I'm so eager to hear more about letterboxing -- i've looked into that in the past, except that I don't think it was called letterboxing? It was similar, but people would actually leave little treats (small stuff, i.e. a marble, a little toy, etc) in the box for a future finder, and each person would take what was there and perhaps leave something extra). I love the concept, but until recently didn't have a GPS so never tried it. I really think we could get into this!
I'm gonna shoot you a PM. :)

Great job helping Jon break the funk. Living in Portland I am used to rain..but it seriously sets some people off. Kudo's too on not dwelling on the bad service at WL. :thumbsup2
Taking the boat to the MK seems like such an enchanted way to get to the park.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend......I can't sleep so I will finish up were I left off...
We had left the Pollyanna People...okay.... Who were they? Are they just Main St. girls? :confused3
We head off to Tomorrowland...
I noticed a lot peeps acting surprised that Space Mountain is closed.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/IMG_2693.jpg
It was dead in this area and I admit, it was sort of sad not seeing TTA running around and guests coming in and out of Space Mountain. The gift shop area is closed also.
Does anyone know what they are doing to Space Mtn.?
This was new....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/IMG_2692.jpg
A guess it's a show place or something....?
We got in line for Buzz Lightyear Ranger Spin....
It was okay and we had fun on it. Jon had a really nice time turning the car around and getting me dizzy...the stand by line was about 20 minutes.
Walking around and towards the Tea Cups....I wanted to try it...I just can't take all the spinning... :crazy2:
The park didn't really seem busy....there were waits for attractions..but not bad. It was just nice walking around MK, again, there's just something about it! ;) I guess the rain had scared some people away. It's wasn't like elbow to elbow that day.
We walked by the back of the castle and just kind of took everything in again.

I hate it when he starts getting on his blackberry....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/IMG_2703.jpg
We passed on through Liberty Square. Haunted Mansion had a 20 minute wait. Jon didn't want to get on it?!?!?!?! :confused3 He said that he wanted to wait til dark....I was like, okay! I thought for sure we were going to get on it when we went by it...

Okay! So, we go by Hall of Presidents...now, this was closed on our last trip back in January b/c it was under rebhab and there was no line at all. With this being a classic, we wanted to give it and try and see Barack....
I was unable to take pics of the show....but I did get a few pics of the inside waiting area.

We are inside the waiting area of the Hall of Presidents, just looking around. I had never been in here so I really don't know what is new other than the adding of our new President.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/IMG_2716.jpg
Jon was interested, suprised me. Im the one that all into the history of our country....

Ronnie said to go check out Nancy's new dress for the ball....

I wonder if was in my size....:lmao:

I'm not even gonna go there...:scared1:
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/IMG_2714.jpg
Good ol Jimmy....does anyone remember Amy??? Lord, that poor child. Roselyn didn't have a dress on display. She is waiting for Wally to return it....:cutie:
So, we go and sit down. It did smell new and fresh in the theater. We sat on the front row so we could see the new addition. Overall, I thought it was "good and educational." Morgan Freeman is the narrator. The short film was a little long. There was some 9/11 footage added, I am thinking that was new, maybe???
The curtain opens. We see all of our Nation's Leaders......
My first respones...."Wow! They look real!" Jon's was "What's up with Obama's eyes?" :confused3
I give the Imagineers two thumbs up! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 But there was a little wierdness to Obama. I mean it looked good and all, but just a little tinsy bit off.....but it was very nice how they had him saying the oath of office again. And Mr. Washington does stand up and speaks to the audience. Someone beside me said that was new also.....
So we head out of Liberty Square and walked towards the exit. We just strolled around Main Street's shops again. Jon and I were a little worn out from such an emotional morning, so we decided to head back to WL for a nap.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/IMG_2718.jpg
I love the trees at WL.....
I spot some Wildlife....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/IMG_2720.jpg
We head on back to the room for a nap. It looked like it was getting to rain again.
Next up, an romantical dinner at YSH! MMMMM so good..... :)

Jeff, from what I have read the stage in Tomorrowland was some sort of Stitch dance party that was so bad they have already cancelled it. :rotfl2:
Will they not allow pics in Hall of Presidents AT ALL, or just no flash?
I can't handle spinning, either. When we ride the tea cups I make sure I have my own cup - DH and DS can spin themselves silly. If you don't turn the wheel in the middle it doesn't spin much at all. I have only had a CM get ugly with me once when I asked for my own cup. I would never ask if the line was long.
LOVE YSH for dinner! Can't wait to read about your visit! :yay:

I've got mixed feelings about Stitch, maybe I need to watch the movie again. Jon hates him! But that is interesting to hear.....I wonder what they will change it too??? Im sure they can think of something that everyone will like but I imagine it would hard to find something to fit in with Tomorrowland. Wall-E maybe???:confused3
Im not quite sure on photography in the Hall of Presidents.....Jon and I both sworn we heard "No Photography" during the welcome annoucement when were seated.
That's good to know about the Tea Cups...I had no idea you could control your cup! Maybe will try it next time!
Im gonna start the next part soon! Glad you are reading....;)

When I started reading these forums it was in the College section to get information on the Disney Management Internships. I have to admit I hadn't really bothered reading any trip reports because I didn't really understand the allure.
I have, though, been following through this thread, and have been loving it. Living the magic through you guys has been fascinating! I cant wait for more, and now I'm off to explore through some old trip reports.

Wow! I'm looking at my notes and the get away is just about over! The 4 days went by very fast!
So, let's get to the part of the trip where we had the best evening ever! :goodvibes
After a much needed nap, we got ready for our ADR at YSH! We were both excited about our 1st Signature Dining Experience! Special occasion with my special guy!
Okay, I know in my PTR, I asked you guys what to wear at YSH. I heard so many different things what NOT to wear like the tee shirts and cut offs. Some folks just said causal and resort causal and business causal etc etc etc etc....
I was prepared for both dressy and resort causal. So I mixed it up a little and we were fine. We both wore this causal button down shirts that were a rayon material type....the were comfy, light weight and cool. That night, the humidity was so thick you could cut it with a knife! We also wore shorts, a dressy type of shorts and we looked pretty dang good if I say so myself....
Once we were leaving the WL, I had been thinking on us taking the boat to MK and hopping on the Monorail to the TTC and then transfering to the Ecpot Monorail, then walking to YSH from the World Showcase....wheewwww! But we love the bus system so much, we just took that straigth to Epcot.....
Our ADR was at 5:40p and we hopped on the bus right at 5pm at WL. I knew we were not gonna make it, but someone decided to do a fashion show back in the room b/c they just did not know what to wear.
The bus made a stop at Ft. Wilderness after it stopped at WL. And of course, there was someone that needed special attention that was in a scooter. (No offensive to those in scooters, it just the process that you all have to go through when getting on a bus, my mother in law has a scooter and if she ever makes to the Disney with us.....well, I don't want to think about it) Anway, I kept looking at the time on the bus clock....5:15.......then we are leaving Ft. Wilderness. I was praying the bus was not going to GF and thankfully it didn't......but it seem to be taking a longgg time to get there....
The clouds were coming again and it was getting dark and stormy like again. By the time we arrived at Epcot's Bus Dropoff, it was 530p. And everyone that knows at Epcot, the bus depot is sort of far away from the ticket gate.
I have never seen Jon walk so fast.....and it started to rain a little.....:scared1: I could not help but thinking of the episode of the Brady Bunch when Jan and Marcia were running in that theme park to deliver the building plans for Mike to the theme park owner. :rotfl: (Okay, I have a thing for classic TV!)
We "ran" under the ball.....passed by the fountains, flew through Canada and got to the International Gateway...I could not take any pics like I wanted to. We pass by the Beach Club and saw our new home for September across the lake (BWV)....I hoped after dinner we could explore the Beach Club and YC just to see what it was like.
I don't know how we did it, but we were right on time......LOL! We checked in and there were guests waiting to be seated. By the way, for those of you who want to know, everyone was wearing the same type of clothes for dinner. Nice pair of dress shorts and nice button down shirts. We waited 5 mins. We were given no pager, we were just told to wait. By the way, the hostess reminded me of Vicki from the Love Boat with her uniform on....:lmao:
A very dashing "captain" came and seated us...he just walked us through this beautiful place.....passed by the dessert table and prep area....so beautiful. I love the decor...the hardwood floors, very nice!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2013.jpg
Sorry about the photos, I had the camera on this crazy mode setting and it was our pocket size camera so I just point and shoot.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2012.jpg
The desserts look tempting, our host told us all about them....we had other plans for dessert after dinner and you will see....;) (Brace yourself!)
After being seated, we were giving menus and our handsome waiter, Bill came over. He was SOOOOOOOO nice! Loved him!!! He asked if we would like a drink from the bar and we did order one....maybe 2....
I order this....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2005.jpg
An Island Bahama Mama....and let me tell you, it was good! Love rum! I actually had 2 of these.....:yay:
Jon had this thing...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2006.jpg
A Cosmo something....I bet there is someone on here that can tell us what it is. ;)
Then we had some bread to come out.....Y'all,I usually pass on the bread, but like Jenn said, it was very yummy and I wanted to try it. There was a sourdough and an onion type roll, 2 each....both were .....mmmmmmmmmm so good! It was served with this garlic olive oil spread....yum! and also with this butter with sea salt...really good.
Since we planned on not getting a dessert, Bill said that we could get a cheese plate right before our main entree and we were like, yeah, bring on the cheese, Bill! And bring us another drink if you don't mind! ;) Those drinks were getting to my head! I had a empty stomach all afternoon! hehe! I had to slow down!
So, here's the cheese...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2003.jpg
Or what's left of it...
Sorry, we started before I could get a picture of it....but here's is halfway through it. Bill gave us a little lesson on cheeses and it was quiet interesting pairing it with the different fruit purees. Really tasty. I like them all...I couldn't remember the names of each one...sorry!
After the cheese, here it came...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2007.jpg
Yall have no idea how good this piece of meat was to my soul! This was out of this world!!!! Jon and I both had the filet. Served with some kind of potatoes that had this creamy onion cheesy sauce....oh, to die for! I thought I was gonna run back to NC and slap my mama it was so dang good....
The cup on the side was the braise sauce (?) that is usually served on top. It was quiet good, the color scared me at 1st, but it very flavorful with the steak.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2009.jpg
Here's another shot of it....sorry its not clear. I had the "other" camera....it's pocket size and I didn't have my bag with me....
We both had ours cook a high medium, which Bill suggested. Again, I enjoyed this man's service....;)
BTW, The waitstaff here, they are ALL good at what they do (we have fine dining were I work and it was WAY better, I wish we had those guys working for my company), plus they are all cute with the their little captain's suits on....:cutie:
We finished and Bill gave Jon a little surprise....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2011.jpg
It was like a mini bday cake with a raspberry sauce. There was a candle and a card from the characters too...
We really loved the YSH....We WILL be back for this one folks. If you are planning to go and want to do something really nice for you other half, I would go here! Very nice! I give it a 10! And :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
So we were done and we left the YC. YC is a pretty resort....very upscale Rhode Island if that makes any sense...pretty....
We headed over to the Beach Club to get Jon's "bday cake." I wanted to do something different and Jon is a ice cream freak, like me! So we put our name on the list here....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2017.jpg
So much better than Dairy Queen.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2018.jpg
The cute little girl said that it was going to be at least 20 minutes to sit. We both said it together..."We will wait!" We love some Ice Cream!!!!
We walked along the BC/YC Pool area which looked really fun.....the pool was huge! I wanna go down their slide!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2016.jpg
Our pager went a buzzin' and we headed over. You can't make a ressie here folks, its all walk up and wait. It was not a long wait for us, and this was around 730ish....I can see this place busy later on a night for those Broadwalkers....
For Jon's cake....we both got our own very large sundeas..........
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2023.jpg
Yes, I know, We are into Sundae Worship....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2022.jpg
Jon had the No Way Jose...and I had the Mud Slide. Jon's was chocolate ice cream and hot fudge with peanut butter layers....HE LOVED IT! The Mud Slide was excellent.....oreos, hot fudge, vanilla ice cream, and brownie was stuck in their too. Oh, yes, it was mmmmmmmmm so good!
When our sudaes came out, they dimmed the lights and turn on the rotating lights and the whole place sang Happy Birthday to Jon! It was really cool!!!
Okay, I have to stop....more soon. Next up, an very romantic evening at Epcot

After we left the boat, Jon said it was time for us to make the big leap. So, we took our tickets and upgraded to APs! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: We got a great deal with the card that Ms. Jenn sent us! Thank you Jenn!
Not a problem love! Just glad I could save someone some $$$ in Disney. It is not an easy thing to do... I wish I could get rid of the three others...
So we were done and we left the YC. YC is a pretty resort....very upscale Rhode Island if that makes any sense...pretty....
The YC is very pretty. The BCV is now my most favorite resort. We will be staying there many times in the future I hope.
I felt very "at home" at both YC and BC... I don't know if it was because of the very New England beach resort feel and the fact that I summered on Cape Cod.... I just loved it! :cloud9:

Jon's Birthday Gift from Disney was burning a hole in his pocket. I can't remember what he bought. I was talking to another guest that had on a East Carolina University tee shirt on and we both found out that we both attended there about the same time! It was nice talking about our college days with a fellow Pirate!
We walk over to "The Land" to see what it was like over at Soarin'! It didn't look too bad. There was a 40 minute Stand By time. There was a CM that walked by with a Pin Trading Lanyard on and she stopped so Jon could trade with her. I asked her if Soarin' was gonna start back handing out Fast Passes for EMH and she said no. She mentioned that as soon as Illuminations started up, there would be no problem getting on. Okay....we will see, it was about that time for the show to start up so we went and hopped on Living the Land....or as I call it, the tunnel of love.
We both had never been on it. and there was no one on the ride. All the boats were empty. So we got on....it was just us and the CMs that were working it.....
I can tell you nothing about the ride and I did not take pictures. And that's all you guys need to know....:rolleyes1
It was time to fly over Califorina.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%203/DSCN2032.jpg

I think this is a awesome ride. We were in the last row, and it was good. I had to phase out the dangling feet above us, but it was fantastic....
So, we exit and Jon says we outta ride it again. And we did.....:lmao:
We get on the 2nd row this time and it was great! We had a blast!
Okay, by this time, I had put away my camera and didn't use it anymore. We were both enjoying the evening, so I just took a break from taking pics.
We did some more attractions....The Figment Ride and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.....both were kind of okay....I didn't understand the Figment Ride. Who is he? :confused3
We go to Mouse Gears and I buy a whole bunch of boxes of the Mickey Shape Coconut Patties for my co-workers and some other goodies for my nephews.
It was getting late and I wanted to go ride Test Track again, and we did. We love the ending to that ride, thats the best part!
We head out to exit and we stop by Guest Relations before we leave to look at their pin book. No trades this time.....
We get to the bus stop and wait. We waited so long again.....I have no clue what was up with the bus system, but it took forever this night. It seemed like the other resorts had more than one bus running....not sure what the problem was. I tore into one of the boxes of coconut patties and ate a few....:rolleyes1
We made it "home" and the bus was packed all the way there. It made a stop to Ft. Wilderness and only 2 people got off there. The rest were WL folks.....
This was a fun night! We really enjoyed ourselves.....sorry that I did not take anymore pics of the evening, but it was nice to just enjoy the special evening....
Up next....."You wanna do what????"

Jeff, sounds like a lovely evening at Epcot!
We ate at Flying Fish for the first time last year and it was terrific! We had HUGE transportation issues from Saratoga Springs. (FORTY THREE minutes for a damn bus to MGM, then we had to wait for the boat to Boardwalk. :headache:) By the time we got there I was the human ball of stress.
Our server, Jacki, was SOOO nice! The chef sent out a little "amuse bouche" for us - teeny champagne grapes for DS, gazpacho for DH and me. The food was fabulous, the service was fabulous, my birthday cake from Boardwalk Bakery was fabulous! We are going back this year. We'll be at Narcoosee's on my actual birthday, Flying Fish the night after.
Our hotel ressies have changed a little bit - at first I thought we were going to end up switching rooms the morning after my b-day and I didn't want to have to try to move the leftover cake. Better to get it after we are settled in the room for the 2nd half of the trip. Turns out we are moving the morning of my birthday, but since I want to go to MK that day we are sticking with Narcoosee's. I could have had a cake from the GF Bakery, but the cake last year from Boardwalk was PERFECT.

Ok Jenn, so here's my plan: I'll tell Nelson you're thinking of having Jon take you to Disney for your 30th (baby) birthday....we won't tell him how you know Jon. [CENTER]Wheeww! We are almost done with this trip and we are about to come home.....I figured I better hurry and post something new before Wally starts passing out snacks again!!!!
Okay! Here we go moving forward to our last full day. I wanna go ahead and warn you all that this is going to be interesting and quite entertaining! This is just one of those days that was just the best....;) I hope you enjoy it with me...I'm still laughing about some of the events....:lmao:
We woke up sort of early, around 7am and Jon says that he wants to do the rope drop at MK. :cheer2: I've always wanted to go and see what it's like but Jon has never really said anything about wanting to go. So, I was happy on his choice, after all, its his trip.....
We don't get breakfast. We both grab coffees at Roaring Fork and head out to the boat launch. At this time, I was not taking any pics....I was video taping parts of the boat ride on Bay Lake and the actual opening show thingie at MK.....
The Boat ride was wonderful. We both love the smaller boat with the wooden benches....not sure why, just a cute fun boat...open air and I did not feel like I was on a car ferry in Ocracoke...
The Rope Drop....welll, It was alright. Nothing too exciting. I thougth it was cute with all the characters and I did sing the Morning Song to one of my assists at work and she said that I was turning in Disney (insert word that means person selling herself) Ok, so it's true. Can I change my screen name to that? LOL! Anyway, it was a cute show and it was so neat to see the family selected to help with the opening. I wanna do that....:yay:
........3.......2..........1.......
We were in MK and everyone swarmed in....btw....it was not that crowded....but it got NUTS in there heading into the early afternoon hours.
We head over to the castle.....

We ride Thunder Mt. 2 times....enjoyed it! Always a fun classic....
Then we decided to see all the critters from the south...Splash Mountain! I love Splash Mountain....We walked on this ride also, 2 times...and there was more to come after that! Just a fun fabulous ride and just so Disney and lengthy. See all the critters reminded me of my Gabbie and Drucilla! (I was really missin' my babie girls!) Bears in harnesses! Oh, yeah! ;) I really like the drop in the dark!

We went next door....

There's always a wait for this classic...but not bad for a Friday Morning....Peter Pan's Flight, One of Walt's very own.....Just the mother classic of them all!
Such a good day, my sinuses wanted to start on me for some reason. So, we take a little break in Fantasy World and I take one of my sinus pills...I get a water from one of the counter service places. We hung out around the castle and I try to get all professional with my rink a dink camera...

You know they do reward the early risers with a special show! :thumbsup2
I've only managed to get there early enough to see this live once, but it is a great way to start the day!

I am so sorry to leave everyone hangin'! Im so so so sorry...I was so worn out last night. This has been a long week at work.......plus Jon has the Amazon Jungle growing on one of our decks and I've spent all late afternoon watering.....
And DIS will only let me post 25 images, so Im gonna have to cut down on the smilies....
OK! We saw Fairy Godmother and she was getting ready to leave...I never got our picture with her! Anyway....
It was time for lunch. We had no breakfast...just coffee. We decided on eating lunch with Bill....Pecos Bill that is....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2085.jpg
We were there 1st thing....and we liked it here. Love the fixin's bar. It was pretty good for a counter service. We liked it way better than Cosmic Rays...and the CMs were freindly here too...
We got the same thing....surprise surpise! Oh, we used the touch screen ordering system and it was really cool....fast service....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2078.jpg
They had everything on the fixings bar....we loaded up our burgers with just about everything.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2079.jpg
Yes, we were shroomin'!!!! And they have cheese for your fries....yum! yum! Jon got chocolate pudding and I got the carrot cake. It was okay....This was the 1st burger we both had in a very long time.....so we both loved it! (So good that I gained 2 pounds as of this morning)
When we were finishing up dinner, Jon started running his fingers through my hair.....and he was getting that look in his eye. That look in his eye is the look of when he wants to start cutting my hair. Then all of sudden he says, "Okay...let's go to Main Street! I wanna get a hair cut and you are getting one too!"
"You wanna do what???" I was about pass out when I heard him say that. Jon has been a hair stylist for 22 years now.....and he is really picky on who he gets to cut his hair....as for me, I have no choice. It's him and only him. For the past 6 years, Jon has cut my hair. I had been trying to let my hair grow out a little as you can tell in the pics.
So we empty our food trays at Pecos Bill's and headed out towards Main Street.
I wanted to do POC and we did. There was like a 10 minute wait so we hopped on that. Jon was getting so anxious to go see the barber....I really didn't get to shop around in the store that POC has after you get of the ride.
So, off to Main Street we went....
I wanted to take some pics on the way......
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2074.jpg
I wanted to ride Jungle Curise, but the guests started to pour in and it was getting really crowded.....
Okay, I hope I do not offend anyone....but I have to post this....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2076.jpg
They were everywhere we turned while heading to Main St. I have no clue who they are....at first, I thought they were entertainment or a parade or something like that....I walked up to one these groups when they were gathered in the street singing. The flags confused me I guess....I thought it was some sort of side show.....they love to sing, clap, and run over people.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2082.jpg
Again, I hope that I don't make anyone upset...but there were thousands of these type of groups at MK that afternoon. And they have every right to visit just like you and I, but people please, don't push me trying to keep up with your flag leader!!!!:headache:
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2080.jpg
This is when I thought they were official entertainment for Disney.....I wanted to take a picture. Then another lady told me they were international students and they come to WDW all the time...and they come in heards.....
You learn something new all the time.....
We made it to Main Street.....it was a beautiful day!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2087.jpg
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2089.jpg
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2088.jpg
We made it to the Barber Shop.....It was time to get groomed and here is the before picture...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2092.jpg
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2097.jpg
We were greeted by these handsome gentlemen.....
And the Fire Cheif was there too!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2090.jpg
Papa Bear wouldn't let me trade pins with him b/c he had on a green pin lanyard....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2094.jpg
We were able to hop right into the chairs....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2096.jpg
At first, Jon did not tell the barber he was a hair dresser.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2099.jpg
But they became very fast friends...his name is Rex and he was SO nice! Rex finally asked Jon, "So, what do you do back in NC?" And Jon told him and he just stood back and said...."Really?" And chattered on and on.....Long story short, Jon wants to cut hair at Disney.....LOL!
It was my turn, but I didn't get Rex, I got this sweet gal and I can not remember her name to save my life and I thought I wrote it down....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2100.jpg
She is from New York and she has been doing hair for as long as Jon. Rex has been doing hair for about 30 years and he mentioned that he helped open Disney in Japan....that was cool to hear! My gal was sweet too. She was asking me about the NC Mountains and how life was there. Then I told her were I worked and we just chatted while she did her thing.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2104.jpg
So, how do we look.....????
Jon gave me a once over and said my gal did really good! He gave Rex 2 thumps up also! We really did enjoy this experience....we will do again if we ever need haircuts while in the MK!
We left MK....b/c it was getting so packed! So, we both decided to head back to WL.....
Here we are sportin' our new looks on the boat back home....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2105.jpg

Getting a hair cut at the MK "used" to be one of my favorite things to do! :thumbsup2
Not sure if you know this, but back in the day, Center Street, the street half way down Main Sreet on the right, used to cross over Main Street and the Barber Shop was all the way down on the left, very well hidden. It was very much a "boys club" then. Nothing but grown men, no kids! Now that they have moved it, it's kind of become a kids club! But oh well, it's still a once and a life time experience to get your hair cut there!
For those of you who are firefighters, you may want to check out the fire station right across the street from the Barber Shop, another hidden gem! And BTW this is where you will find your pet gifts at the the MK.

I am getting to the point where I think I may have to take DS to my salon. These cheapy chains just aren't working for me. Had his hair cut last Saturday, and we were back in there on Monday because his bangs were still hanging in his eyes. I do think a trim at the Main St. barbershop would be fun for him. By the end of our trip I bet his hair will need it!

Jon is getting a lot youngsters right at the pre-teen years...he doen't do little kids, but he is getting cleints right at 12 years....boys and girls....you have to watch some of the chains...mostly employs the ones right out of school go their to "practice." They have to start somewhere! You may find a jewel sometimes....and Jon sees it just about everyday someone comes in for correction....he sometimes can help but he refers them to another stylist in his salon when he is busy...
Try the barber shop in MK if you can....yall will love it and go around 12ish if you can, the entertainment is nice! The CMs that are in their were wonderful! DS and you will enjoy it.....I promise! Your trip is coming up right???
And I love a "plain ol' head" ,its sexy to me for the men that can carry it off, like a few men on here I know...;)
I was told by a few former CMs that I work with now that the folks from Brazil were hard to control....we didn't let them bother us though...but they were annoying as heck. All the chanting...singing....hopping in lines, holding places in line and the making their way through the ques catching up with their pack (happened a lot in January) But I do think Jon and I have a idea what we will be dressing up as for MNSSHP.....;) Im already thinking of tee shirt ideas...;)

So glad you liked the barber shop! We went a couple trips ago, it was so much fun. My GF went from Mohawk to completly bald (she was hot). She posed for a pic and they prentended to cut with huge sissors. ( I should find that pic....then again if I post it she might kill me LOL)

Jeff - We leave a week from today!
My stylist won't accept children as clients unless their parents are his clients, too. I haven't switched DS to him because he has been living in Santa Fe and just coming to Dallas to do hair like 10 days a month. Now he has moved back so it won't be so tricky to book an appointment.
It seems like we saw a couple of groups in January or February one year, but they don't overrun the parks like they do in July. They should be starting to taper off by the time we get there next Saturday.

It will start Saturday night, or possibly Sunday. Since Saturday is our arrival day and we may not have a room until after we get back from the parks that night (DVC check-in is "after 4 PM"), I am not sure how much I will post on Saturday. :)

Alrighty! Let's get back to it!
We are heading back to WL after seeing the crowds were starting to come in MK. We thought it would be nice to hang out by the pool and enjoy the resort. WL to me is one those resorts you wanna plan sometime there b/c it's just so cool.....we hopped off the boat and head to the room to change into our pool attire. As we were coming from the boat launch, we walked by the pool and it was not all that crowded. There were lots of chairs around and plenty of good spots....
I usually have a good base tan where I can just lay out and not worry about major sunburn. Jon is part Cherokee, so he can get tanned and not burn at all, as for me, I sprayed on some suncreen and we both headed to the main pool.
I found a nice place over near the bar.....:worship:
And my cabana boy, Mr. Chuckwagon was at my service after he made a pin stop...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2110.jpg
I had already settled in....Jon met me down there later after he went by the pin cart in the lobby....by this time, the CM that worked there knew him by name. ;)
The sun was out....the water was nice.....and we both went down the slide! I liked it, Jon went down only once, he said he felt too old for it. For me, I went down about dozen times....there were a bunch of kids around 10 years old that welcomed me into their pack and we all timed ourselves to see who could go down the fastest. I'm ready to try that scary clown pool at BWV.....
So we chilled for awhile.....
Jon went to the bar....he asked me what I wanted and I told him "anything tropical!"
He came back with this...
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2109.jpg
Your basic pina colada....and it was dang good one too!
Jon got a passion furit mojito....he asked the sweet gal that was bartending he would love anything with a glow cube.....They only do glow cube drinks inside the Lodge....What is it with this boy and those glow cubes???
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2108.jpg
He loved the drink....I tasted of it and it was good....I liked mine better....
Later, we had another round....
We were chillin....:cool1:
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2112.jpg
Have any of you seen my tatoo?
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2111.jpg
We were out there for about an hour and a half....we had a great time! Jon suggested that we go the Boat Rental counter and rent 2 of the Sea Racers! Yay! They looked like fun and we really wanted to both get our own and race!!! As soon as we started filling out the wavier form, we heard thunder.
:headache:
Maybe next time!
Back to the room I went. I showered and took a nap. Jon went back to check the pin book at the pin cart.
***************
Okay! It was getting dinner time and we were starved! We had an ADR for WCC. We almost decided not to have dinner there after the "wondeful" service we had there yesterday morning.....
We headed down around 530p and the place was packed....our ADR was for 5:40.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2114.jpg
We checked in with the hostess at the check in desk and we were given a pager. We waited about 5 minutes and we were seated. I did not request the "quite" area. We were okay with sitting in the main area. It is loud in there...the noise does carry through the lobby....just an FYI for those that are planning!
Our server was Loopy Lisa...A cute little thing she was and very very sweet! She gaves the run down and offered to get us milkshakes. I passed, I told her later maybe, but she brought me a diet coke instead and Jon had regular coke. I love how they serve it in the mason jars! Too cute!
Lisa took our order and we both got the.....

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2121.jpg

It did come with salad and cornbread first....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/Disney%204/DSCN2117.jpg
The place was busy! And it was not all that bad as I thought it was gonna be. The food was good! Now, being from Eastern NC, I am picky about my BBQ....already chopped up and with the vinegar sauce already mixed in. MMMM. This type of BBQ was different for me and I liked it....it was pretty tasty. Jon loved it....
We ordered desserts....Lisa brought Jon a milkshake and we began looking at the dessert menu....
Here's what we got...

Chocolate Cake that was okay...the cheesecake was better!
We paid for our meal with table service credits and right when we settled our bill, the asked everyone to stand and do the Hookey Pookey...on that note, we got up and left!
Dinner was good! Will we go there again? Maybe...there's a lot more to try out there though. I really recommed this place for families.....the kids will have a blast and adults will love watching everyone. As of right now, YSH has us won over for best food in Disney!
Okay...time for a break! I will be back to post more!
Up next, a medication mishap and back to the MK for some more professional photography! You don't wanna miss this one folks!

Have any of you seen my tatoo?
What's it say? Or what is it? I have a fascination with tattoos. I have none so far. Yes, I know I'm a disgrace to lesbians everywhere.
And did you say there's a pin book at the pin cart??
As always, great storytelling ... can't wait for the next installment. I'm getting anxious about the end of the trip, tho. Could you just make up some new "episodes?" So I don't have withdrawal? :flower3:

Sorry you didn't get to try the Sea Raycers. :guilty:
The tattoo looks like a little lizard. Is it?
Yes, there is a pin book at the cart at WL. DH found a lot of pins he really liked when we stayed there in '07. :)
