Just wondering if there are any Central New Jersey people out there??? We live in Kendall Park which is in South Brunswick Township, just one town north of Princeton. We just joined in Feb 01 and enjoyed our first DVC vacation Feb 02.........6 days at the VWL and a 3 day cruise on the Disney Wonder.....FANTASTIC!
Would love to hear from anyone out there!!!!

We are from Southern NJ and have owned since September 2000. We have used our points for a 8 night stay at OKW, a 6 night stay at HHI, and a 2 night (of 4 night) stay at the Grand Californian in DL.

South Jersey is great!!! I was wondering though if there were people close to me that were members. How was your trip to DL. I was there once when I was young and really dont remember too much of that trip. I am afraid that if we go to DL now after being to WDW so many times that we will be disappointed. What do you think???
Glad to hear from you!

Hi, we're from Monroe Twp., right on your border! We joined DVC in 2000 and love it. We were surprised at how many people in our area own DVC. In fact, we've referred two sets of friends already!
Just a little bit of useless trivia...NJ is the 3rd state other than NY & FL that has the most DVC members. :D

Hi, neighbor!! We're from Monroe Township also!! We have been DVC members since 1993. We have points at OKW, BWV and BCV too. We are lucky ducks!! Joining DVC was one of the best decision we ever made.! Now our youngest daughter is a WDW CM, so we find we are visiting even more often.
Kath816--so where do you live in Monroe?

DL was great! The Grand Californian is a beautiful hotel and we felt that it was well worth the points. ( 32 pts. a night during the week after Easter) You are right in CA which made it very easy to go back and forth from the park to the hotel. The MK was a five minute walk.
CA is still working out some growing pains. The Paradise Pier section is a seaside type of amusement park. My husband loved California Screaming. The Golden State section is themed to different regions of California. Some of the attractions are the same as in WDW like the Muppets and It's Tough to be a Bug.
The best attraction IMO was Soaring Over California. You really feel like you are flying. I would really like to see them put this attraction in WDW -maybe a Soaring Over America in Epcot. They are also building a Tower of Terror. If you are a fan of the Electrical Parade, you can see it there.
The Magic Kingdom is more detailed than in Flordia. Fantasy Land is more elaborate. You can see and feel Walt's touches in this park.
Since there are only 2 parks and a Downtown Disney area, you only need 3 or 4 nights to do it all. CA can be done in one day.
Since it is such a long plane ride, I would combine it with something else you may want to see in California. We visited Palm Springs.
So to answer your question, I don't think that you would be disappointed as long as you realize that it is nowhere near as big as DW.

I was born and reared in Monroe Twp., but I currently live in Cranbury. :D Nice to see so many other New Jerseyans! :)
My DH and I are BWV members. (We've also been to the DVC HHI resort.)
ncligs,
thanks for the numbers. I think I saw the same breakdown but then I thought I read that FL was up in the first 3 so I did not want to ruffle any feathers and gave FL the benefit of the doubt and put NJ in the #3 spot. But it looks like NJ is #2. GO NJ!!!

We joined DVC back in 1993 and cannot begin to tell you how happy we are to have done so. Have stayed in OKW, BWV, HH and VB. Next month, we'll be going to BCV for first time and can't wait!

Hi,
We are from Freehold Township...joined in 1999 at OKW! I did not want to do this at first because, formerly, we only stayed at the monorail hotels.
However, so glad we joined DVC! It is wonderful! Now if they would put a DVC on the Monorail!...

Thanks to all who responded - it is great to see that there are so many NJ folks out there that love Disney as much as we do. I am soooo happy that there is a forum out there for us to communicate on. Being that I am new to this and somewhat "computer illiterate" I have a few questions on some of the terminology and abbreviations that are used on this site. What do the following mean: DH, DW, CM? Most of the other stuff I have figured out or my wife has but these few have us stumped! Also, I love all the extra visuals that many of you have attached to your threads. How the heck do you do that?????
Hey RLevy29 - Thanks for the report on DL - I would love to see it at least once but it will be difficult getting my wife on a plane for 6 hours.
Hey jel0511 - You're practically in my back yard. We used to live in Monm. Jct. from '87 til '92 on Gambocz Ct. right off New Rd and moved to our new home in KP in '92. Have a great 1st DVC vacation in "3" days!!! I'm jelous!!!!!!!
To all my other Jersey neighbors that responded, thank you and I am sure we will talk again soon!!!!

Hi
We live in southern Ocean County near Long Beach Island. Have been a members since 1992. I bought before being married or having any children. Now that I have both I am so glad I had the foresight to buy back then. It was one of the best things that I have ever bought. I only wish I still got those "Park Passes" for free.....We should have a New Jeresy DVC day.......

Hey, neighbor! We're near LBI, too. I think we're really South Jersey but The Weather Channel gives us the central Jersey forecast so maybe we're central.

Hi all!
Mary Jo, we're in Outcalt. I think we "spoke" on priority mail once before some time back. How exciting to have a CM in the family!
luckytoso -- You do count too! Our son is CBA grad.
We're taking 3 trips to DW this year, so really using the points.
Kara, how did you like HH? We're thinking of an April trip there.

Kath,
The DVC HHI resort is a beautiful place to stay! I was more than impressed with the quality of service and the friendliness of the staff! It's a very quiet and relaxing kind of vacation --- very different from WDW in that there isn't as much to keep you entertained, but then again, there aren't many vacation destinations that are as entertaining as WDW, IMO! ;) :) If you're looking for something peaceful, HHI is a great place! :D

BWDVC Members since 97!
We're long-time DVC owners from Hudson Cty. We bought when it was just Vacation Club, so you know one of our homes is OKW. We will be driving thru central & southern Jersey in late Aug. to visit our other home HH. We love DVC!

How about former north Jersey residents? We bought OKW (sight unseen) back in '92 when we were living in Tenafly. Presently we live in NC but still consider ourselves Jerseyites. I remember a Marie from central NJ (and worked for a Dr S. in Perth Amboy) who also bought into DVC very early. Are you on this board?
