So a little about us, here's a pic from our recent trip:
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/Disney%202009/IMG_0304.jpg

We've been together for 6 years now ~ wow, that seems like such a long time but it has really flown by! We met while I was still in school and doing an internship, and it was probably four months before he ever really talked to me! I actually thought that he disliked me, and I thought it didn't make sense that he would dislike me for no reason because he was such a nice guy! Some of my coworkers tipped me off that Ryan did like me and we exchanged numbers before my last day. We started out sending each other a bunch of text messages and eventually went out on our first date.

And of course our first trip as a couple was in 2005 to Disney! We stayed in WL and had the best time. That was when Ryan realized that Disney wasn't just for kids! We went back in 2008 and stayed at AKL which was awesome and we just got back from our stay at the Grand Floridian and the best Disney trip yet! I think this last trip Ryan realized that he loved Disney almost as much as I do!

The proposal~ June 13, 2009

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/IMG_0137.jpg
On our first day at Disney Ryan had planned for us to have dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. We had an awesome meal, I love the Castle! After we finished our main meal our waiter came to the table with a covered plate and said:

"Your prince has ordered a special dessert for you", and lifted the lid to reveal a glass slipper on a bed of rose petals. He placed the plate on the table and I saw in the glass slipper was my beautiful ring on a rosebud! Now, I may write about this calmly now, but basically as soon as I saw the waiter with the plate I knew it was going to happen and started crying. Then Ryan started to tear up a little too. :lovestruc

He got down on his knee - in front of the whole restaurant - he was so nervous with everyone watching, I was too! - and asked me to marry him, of course I said yes! And everyone clapped and congratulated us!

This is kind of what it looked like (recreated by me later that night while Ryan went searching for our luggage)
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/IMG_0155.jpg

and on my hand:
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/IMG_0147.jpg

Afterwards the photopass photographer took some more pics of us, we had a champagne toast and they brought us out the glass slipper desserts. These were soo good!
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/IMG_0146.jpg

We had a great night in Magic Kingdom, and eventually called everyone. They were all really excited!

It was really so perfect since I love Disney so much and I love the Magic Kingdom most of all. I'm also so glad to actually have pictures of the proposal, luckily I did a photopass share this year! :thumbsup2 I'll post some of those pics when I get the cd. I also loved that it happened in the beginning of the trip and it was just us, so we had all week to enjoy being engaged before coming home to the millions of questions! :rotfl:

We have finally decided on a Disney wedding :woohoo:, or should I say Ryan finally agreed to a Disney wedding since I decided a long time ago! :lmao:. He loves Disney too but was worried about people not coming and I guess always wanted a big wedding. I have dreamed of a Disney wedding since I was about 11-12 years old and read a magazine article and found out it was even possible to have a Disney Wedding! :lovestruc

We thought it would be so fun since we can share something that we love so much with the people we care the most about. I also like that we'll have a few days to really spend with our guests. And of course now that we got engaged there Disney is even more special to us.

There are also financial reasons, which I think is what finally won Ryan over. Where we live basically everyone has a crazy huge wedding. The average cost of a typical wedding here is crazy! :scared1: Since we're paying for the wedding, a Disney wedding is actually more cost effective for us. Wow, it's not often that the thing I want is the most cost effective option! :rotfl2: But he couldn't argue the math, for less than half the price we could have a spectacular wedding versus a typical wedding at home.

So the details so far ~

Date: Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - it had to be in the summer so that our guests could come. I like that it's on a Tuesday (minimums are cheaper!) but our guests can arrive on Saturday and then we'll have a few days for pre-wedding activities. We'll probably spend the rest of the week at Disney with any guests that are still there.

Ceremony: Disney's Wedding Pavillion (late afternoon). I wasn't so set on it until I saw it in person. It was seriously so beautiful I started tearing up and knew that was where I wanted to get married. Plus there's the Castle in the window and we all know how special the castle is to us!
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/Disney%202009/IMG_0394.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/Disney%202009/IMG_0395.jpg

Reception: I wanted Whitehall room, but I think we have too many people (our guest list is 75). So we're going to have the pre-reception on Whitehall patio and reception in a GF ballroom. If Whitehall gets booked up we'll do the pre-reception at the Summer House. And of course Wishes Dessert party at Sago Cay. We love the GF and Ryan really wants to have the reception there.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/Disney%202009/IMG_0400.jpg

Honeymoon: Right now we're thinking Hawaii. Just not sure if we will go right from Disney or go home first and fly out from there, or go a few weeks later.

Photography: The Roots, I'm superexcited that they are free the day we want. We did an enagement session with them and loved them. I love them even more now that I've seen the pics!

Cosmotolgy: Ana from Beaute Speciale, She did my make-up for my engagement shoot and I thought it turned out awesome.

Bridesmaid dresses: I'm thinking charcol grey, and tea length, with the coordinating color being lavender.

That's all for now. Still have to finish the "Will You Be My Bridesmaid" cards (my very first wedding craft project:goodvibes). I also got the girls a tea bag rest when we were at the GF, it's shaped like a teapot and has an Alice in Wonderland design on it. I bought the Wonderland tea too and will probably give each one of those as well. But I'll post pics of the finished product.

We also have to officially tell the families about our date and location, hopefully everyone will be fine with it!

Aww thanks! I stopped by your PJ too, love all your plans, and I love the colors you picked. I thought about a dark purple like that, but when we were in Disney I saw a bridal party in dark gray and loved it, so that's how I decided on that!

Oh congratulations and Welcome!! We are also doing Wedding Pavillion, Whitehall room/patio and Sago Cay!! Can't wait to read more. Do you have a dress yet?

Thanks do much! I really wanted the Whitehall room for the reception since I'm not too crazy about the regular ballrooms, but we have too many people. So I'm hoping a lot won't come :lmao:. That will also leave me extra money in the budget for fun things like confetti cannons!

I don't have a dress yet, we just got engaged on June 13, 2009, so it hasn't quite been a month yet and I've been doing WW for a while so figured I'd wait a little longer for the dress shopping. I may stop into a shop on a whim, but probably real dress shopping will be in August, my best friend is coming up from Charlotte and I have the week off from work. :cool1:

I love Maggie Sottero dresses though, particularly this one:
http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?line=m&page=11&style=J1209

I'm not sure how I feel about the bubble hem though, so I want to see it in person. I'm not too into beading and lace, a little is good but I really like when there is draping or ruching.

Thanks! Yeah DF brags about how his proposal blows all of our friend's proposals out of the water! :lmao: I did have to wait a long time for it, but it was totally worth it! I was so happy with how the pics turned out, and the Roots are available for our tentative date, so hoping everything goes according to plan. I think that dress is so cute and from what the website says the price is good too, since everyone is traveling I want to keep the price of the dresses as low as possible. There are a few other styles I like too, but they are also Alfred Angelo. I felt like I hit the BM jackpot when I found that site! I was having a tough time finding tea length dresses in the color I wanted

Oh that dress is so pretty!! I hear you about the bubble hem. I think it's cute, but not sure about on a wedding dress. You'll have to try it on ;)

I love it too, if only it was just a regular hem. I am only 5'2" so any dress is going to be super long on me, so I figure I could probably have it hemmed to take out the bubble if I love the dress but don't like that part. I definitely just have to try it on.

Howdy!

It's funny because we probably made all of these decisions this week, before that I was getting really stressed out! Thanks so much! I love the photos too and the Roots and Ana sure did work their magic because we don't look that good on a normal basis :rotfl2:.

Aww congrats! I hope you do a trip report and post tons of pics! We're really excited to go to Hawaii, I love that there are so may things to do, and you can also do nothing at all if you want. We just figured if we don't go now, when would we go? I wish the Disney Hawaii resort was going to be open in time, but am super excited Harry Potter world will be open when we have our wedding!

So I officially finished my first wedding craft, the "Will you by my..." cards, they did take a while to make but I was really happy with how they turned out. And I think they sold me on my color scheme. I think it will be gray, with accents of lavender and I think I will use green as a second coordinating color.

I found a really cute stamp kit at AC Moore and that gave me the idea. Then I just found papers I liked and blank cards.

I haven't sent them out yet...soo shhhh don't tell them :rotfl:

Here's what they look like: http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0539.jpg

For the Flower girl and Ring bearer they are brother and sister so I figured I could get away with one card
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0543.jpg

And the Matron of Honor cards look like this:http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0544.jpg

Here's the little trinket I'm going to mail with it, I got them in Sandy Cove at the Grand Floridian on our trip.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0537.jpg

I showed some of my co-workers and they were like "oh you should make your own invitations". Yeah right, it took me forever to make 6 cards, I can't imagine if I had to make 50! :lmao:

But I figure with everything that they're going to do for me, I wanted to ask them in a special way. :cutie:

Thanks guys! :goodvibesI was originally going to use stickers but couldn't find any I liked, then I saw the stamps. They were pretty easy to make, just time consuming, and I lost motivation for a while, so they were half made for like a week. So since I last posted, let's see....

I think I figured out our reception dilemma. See, DF wants a nighttime reception like everyone has back at home. So that meant either a 2:30, 5:00 or 7:30 reception. We also wanted to have a dessert party, but it's surprisingly hard to fit it in!

After many questions to my WC and so many options I think I lost my mind a little, we decided to stick with a 5:00 pm ceremony and extend our reception by an hour. So here's the Wedding Day plan:

5-6 - ceremony / pics / etc at Wedding Pavilion
6-7 - cocktail hour
7-9:30 - dinner / dances / cake
9:30 - 10:30 - Wishes DP at Sago Cay
10:30 - 12 am - back to ballroom for dancing

We do lose an hour with the DJ, but we're considering maybe doing an ipod setup, Ryan has a few friends that love to play DJ. I just don't know if that might be imposing on them, and I'm sure they will bring a date, so that probably wouldn't be much fun for the date.

We figured with the 2:30 ceremony, even though we are using all the reception hours, it might be way too long and then we have to extend photography and bar service, so it will end up costing us way more anyway.

I also told my WC that I prefer the St. Augustine Room (we'd have AB or CD) to the GF Ballroom, since we'd only get the three narrow rooms at the end, and I like how St. Augustine seems more spacious looking because it's wider.

I really am a little sad about not being able to have the reception in Whitehall, I think that room is so pretty and love all the windows. DF says, why do you need windows, it's night time, but I still want them. We hope to have the pre-reception there, so that's at least something. I also really like the look of the BW and YC ballrooms better, but it just doesn't really fit with our plans and timing. I'm the ones at the GF will be fine, and we really love the resort and how all the wedding activities will be in kinda the same place. Why didn't we tour locations on our trip?! I regret not doing that now.

But Ryan said we could go for a Planning Session! So I'm very excited about that because it seems like so much fun! :)

We booked the Roots, I sent the check today, so it's official. :goodvibes

Found some Save the Dates I liked, they are magnets and you can customize the colors, now to pick out a picture from the 372 that the Roots took. :headache:

I've stared to do a newsletter, some wonderful disbrides were kind enough to give me their templates but I'm being so lazy lately! I figure I have about a month since we'll send them out with the Save the Dates, but I won't order those until we officially get our ceremony date and time from Disney. Here's hoping we get what we want, I'm trying not to stress about that part!

I have two BM's so far and I'm pretty sure a ringbearer and flower girl! I send out the rest of the cards tomorrow, but I gave my sisters theirs. My Aunt also said that they wouldn't miss the wedding for anything and it's her kids that I want to be the RB and FG so it's looking good. :thumbsup2

I'm also glad to say that our families have been great about our decision to have the wedding at Disney! I was a little nervous at what the reactions would be but everyone is really excited! Only problem is the guest list is kind of spiraling out of control, and it seems like we'll have closer to 85 than 75! And there are still a few other "under considerations". Seems I may not be able to get those confetti cannons or lit-up ficus trees after all. :sad1: I guess if most people do decide to come I have to look on the bright-side that there are so many people that want to come to our wedding...but then...is it me they want to see....or a certain Mouse! :lmao:

Plan to go dress shopping this weekend (and dragging my sis along, I have to watch her while my parents and other siblings go on vacation, she didn't want to go, so she has no choice! mwah ha ha!). So hopefully I will know if I like the Maggie Sottero Yara dress and if I like the BM's dresses in person.

It was crazy hot! they had Heat Warnings!! :headache:
but im having fun with the wedding planning! im soooo excited! but i love your "will you" cards. i made mine too. it was lots of fun, but very time consuming!

lol, yeah my mom keeps saying, it's so hot in August, and I said, well it was pretty hot this June, after a certain point, those few degrees don't make much of a difference. Maybe instead of bouquets we can all carry mister fans! That'll be way cheaper than floral! :lmao:She wanted Thanksgiving weekend...but I think it's so she gets out of hosting Thanksgiving!

Yeah, overall it is fun, we had some trouble figuring out the reception timing, but at least that's settled now. I'm sure something else will come up, but I'm really glad we're having it at Disney because they do make is so much easier on you!

I usually like craft projects when they're over! :rotfl: I do really enjoy it but sometimes I just get lazy and don't feel like doing it. In the end I'm usually really pleased with how they turned out. The cards actually weren't too bad though and I liked them better than anything I found to buy online.

It sounds like you are really getting a lot done. That's great that you got the Roots, your engagement photos were gorgeous.

I do have to say make sure you check out that Alfred Angelo BM dress you like. I saw it when I was picking up my wedding dress and I would have been disappointed if I had ended up with it. The organza overlay did not lay right and the flower just looked cheap. I was surprised because it looks adorable in the photo.

Congrats on booking Roots! All the girls on the boards rave about their photography, so it must be amazing! :goodvibes

I totally know how you feel about your guest list situation! DF and I originally thought we'd be inviting around 85 guests. Somehow, it's quickly jumped to at least 110!! :scared: All my dreams of having extra moola for my lighted ceiling drapery in our reception area flew out the window with our quote to feed all those extra guests. It does make you wonder though, as you mentioned! Do people REALLY want to be at your wedding that badly? Or do they just want discounted rates and a good excuse for a Disney visit? Lol. Either way, I guess we get more wedding gifts and well wishes!

Anyhoo, I'm excited for you to go dress shopping! You're going to have so much fun! Try to get your sister to sneak some photos of you in the different dresses for us! ;)

Thanks! Sometimes I feel like hardly anything is getting done since nothing will be official with Disney until next month. We really loved the way the e-pics turned out! So we're super excited to have the Roots for our wedding!

I'm going to bring my sister and we're going to a shop that carries his line, so hopefully they will have that dress. That's disappointing that it didn't look as good in person, I'll have to see what I think of it when I see it. It does look super cute in the photo!

So today spoke to my sister to make sure she can go dress shopping on Saturday. Just have to call the shop tomorrow, they were closed today to make an appt. I also started calling a few different shops to see if they carried the Maggie Sottero Yara gown I like, and it was so hard to find it! After calling five stores, I did manage to find a store that had it so I'm going to go try it on tomorrow after work. I'll be by myself so no chance of sneaky pics, I'm afraid. :sad1:

I'm so excited to actually be looking for my dress! Wow, sometimes it doesn't seem real! Some of the girls at work were shocked I'd go by myself, but I kind of like doing things by myself sometimes, especially shopping for clothing. Plus, I also used to work as a bridal consultant at David's Bridal, so I'm pretty familiar with the whole process and sometimes it was nicer when there wasn't the whole entourage, especially in the beginning.

I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow! :goodvibes

Welcome! Love your engagement story, it is so romantic! I love your engagement ring(we have the same one!) I totally agree with you with the price of a NY wedding(i grew up in rockland and live in brooklyn and all my friends' weddings have costed at least $40,000 and up). Disney is better priced and more fun!!! BTW-i tried on the yara dress at Manhattan Bridal in chinatown. You could always go there, try it and then order it from a different bridal ship-i did not love that shop but tried on my maggie dress there (different one but can't say b/c DF is always lurking on here-if you want to see it I can PM it to you) tand ordered it at RK Bridal in NYC. Some of her dresses are hard to find in stores around NY but hope that helps. Looking forward to hearing you plans!

Hey everyone, just wanted to give a quick update before heading to bed.

It took me forever to get to the Bridal shop, bad mapquest directions! Curse you Mapquest, you've made a fool of me for the last time! :headache:

It told me to go right on a certain road when I should have gone left. :confused3

I got to the shop and it was crazy in there, they showed me where the Maggie dresses were and had me take a look while they got the room ready for me. I found the Yara dress, and two others I liked, Bianca and Flora by La Sposa.

So I put on the Yara. I really wanted to love it. I have loved this dress for over a year! But I didn't love it on me. It was pretty, and I would have liked it as a fancy party dress in another color but it was too plain for me.
http://www.maggiesottero.com/collection.aspx?keywordText=Yara&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=12

Then I tried on Bianca. This was more like it! I really liked this, it made my waist look tiny! Loved the detailing on the skirt, and does it scream princess or what? Plus I can perfectly recreate the Scarlett O'Hara on the staircase scene in this! :) Only downside is the top is cut pretty low, and I'm pretty busty so I felt like I was really 'out there' if you know what I mean. I asked the girl if maybe I needed a larger size, but she said no, that's how it would fit.
http://www.maggiesottero.com/collection.aspx?keywordText=Bianca&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=12

Next was Flora by La Sposa. This was so pretty. I liked the ruching and how soft the organza looked. This one did not lace up so it didn't fit as tight as the Bianca did. Also very Scarlett O'Hara.
http://www.splasposa.com/ls2009/indexLS2009.html

My Consultant pulled two more dresses for me. But only one mattered, it was Carrie by Maggie Sottero. The bottom doesn't really look like in the picture, it's fuller and the pick-ups sit a little differently.
http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=Carrie&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=12&style=J1287

Since I was by myself I had to rely on the opinions of the consultants and other customers. When I came out in Yara, it was like "oh pretty".

When I came out in Bianca...oooh that's so flattering, very nice dress.

When I came out in Flora.....Oooh that dress is so nice, the organza is so pretty, it's very flattering on you.

When I came out in Carrie...WOW, that dress is gorgeous on you!

It was funny because it didn't look like much on the hanger, and it laces up, so when I put it on I really didn't know what it looked like. I just had people ooo'ing and ahh'ing me until I went to the mirror. And then....:love::love:

It was exactly how I wanted to look, it was so elegant but also whimsical with the pick-ups, I loved all the fabric detail. It made me look soooo skinny and taller - and what girl doesn't want that! It was the perfect balance between princess and movie star. I just loved it.

I tried on another one after that, it was just too plain, it had the ruching but the skirt was plain. After my Carrie, it was eh.

The consultant was so sweet she asked me if I wanted to try on one of the older ones again, and I had to try on Carrie. I loved it even more.

I have to say, before dress shopping, I thought I wasn't a huge fan of the lace up but it really makes a huge difference in the fit of the dress.

And the best part of all....Carrie is only $855! I couldn't believe it! Something I like is actually the cheaper option! That never happens!

Still have more shopping to do on Saturday, but I think I found the one.... :goodvibes

Congrats on having a good luck at the dress shop, the carrie dress looks gorgeous, I can't wait to see pics of you in the dress. I loved the La Sposa line as well, but they were too pricey.

The lace really makes a difference, plus if you lose some weight (this is the benefit for me) they just have to tie it tighter rather than having to have it altered like a zip back.

Oooh, both seem really pretty. Good luck deciding! I can't take credit for the Carrie dress it was all the consultant. :) Aww, cool, yeah we thought about having it up here, but financially it just wasn't going to happen, and I couldn't see spending all that money when all I really want is Disney! Thanks! I wish I had snuck some pics, she did leave me alone in the dressing room, but at that point she had already unlaced it, so it wouldn't have been the full effect.

Thank you! I'm very excited about it! I'm going to another store tomorrow, so we will see if anything else compares. I love the lace-up, it seriously was like it was a magic dress! I've been doing WW for a while, so my only concern is buying a dress now when I might lose more weight before the wedding. I only have 12 lbs to my goal weight, so it won't be a huge difference, but I do feel better with the lace up since they could just pull it tighter and it probably won't need as many alterations. She also said the Maggie dresses come in petite, so they probably wouldn't have to take too much off the bottom either.

We'll see how it goes tomorrow, but I have been thinking about the Carrie dress all day and that's how I am when I want something, I think about it so much and can't get any rest until I have it!

So today I went dress shopping with my sister. We stopped in a small salon near my apt. since I knew they carried Maggie dresses. I wasn't crazy about this place, they were very pushy with the lady even asking me if I was planning on buying the dress today. :confused3 Ummm, no. I had told her at the beginning it was one of my first times shopping, and made references to maybe bringing my mom back. I also never once said that the dress was the one or that I loved it. I just said that it was pretty and I really liked it.

Here's the only one I liked, it's Maggie Fiorella. I also didn't like how they changed the style names to numbers so I had to look this up when I came home.

from the front:
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/fiorella.jpg

from the back:
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/fiorellaback.jpg

She kept saying how I would never find a dress more beautiful and that kind of rubbed me the wrong way too.

Afterwards we went to lunch and then had another appointment. This store carried a lot of Maggies but it didn't seem like they had many of the newer styles, and they did not have Carrie. :sad1: I did try on the famous Victoriana, it is a beautiful dress and I can see why it's so popular with the disbrides. It really is a princess dress. I like how in this pic you can see my sis in the mirror taking her sneaky pics!
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/victoriana.jpg

Another that I liked, Jean by Maggie.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/jean.jpg

Overall I liked the consultant at this place, but what kind of annoyed me here was she kept pulling me full on ballgowns, but that's not really what I wanted. It was kind of like she decided since I'm getting married at Disney I need a ballgown. She did say that they could order Carrie for me though and at $100 cheaper than the other store! :thumbsup2

I think it's official...Carrie is my gown. Every dress I tried on, did not compare. I was always like, oh the other dress this...or the other dress that. I was really sad that I couldn't try it on again.:sad2:

I'm going to go back to the other store next Saturday with my Mom and both my sisters and try on the dress and see if they will match the price.

We looked at some BM dresses, and found one we liked. It's by Bill Levkoff. It was really cute and fun looking.
http://www.billlevkoff.com/#/9/bill-levkoff-bridesmaid-dresses/bridesmaid-dress-style-370/1188/

Afterwards we went to a different shop that had the Alfred Angelo dresses, but I did not like any of the ones I saw online in person. :sad1: The one with the flower was weird looking in person and the flower was kind of cheesy. So that was disappointing but we did find the BL dress we liked earlier.

I do have to say that dress shopping is exhausting!

So the dilemma of the day is Videographer or not? My first instinct is no, and Ryan agrees. I don't think we'll really watch the video enough to justify the cost. But then people they tell me I have to get one because even though they don't watch it their kids love it and watch it all the time! Plus since it is a destination wedding, it might be fun to show the people who couldn't make it. So I'm on the fence, Ryan says if I feel like we have to have it, to get it, but I kinda don't want to spend the $$$ on that. Then I figure if people's kids like to watch their regular video, how cool would a Disney wedding video be for kids to watch! People also say they miss so much on their wedding day, so they get to see things they didn't on the video.

I spent some time looking at videographers. I LOVE Starfruit Productions (see that's me loving the more expensive option again), and emailed them to ask them about pricing. I also emailed STVS since they are very popular with the disbrides.

Any one else have recommendations?

I also looked into maybe renting the chiavari chairs (I HAVE to have those) from an outside vendor so that it would be cheaper. I also thought about buying my own napkins or table overlays, but I guess I can wait until I get my BEO before deciding on that. But I figure if I can buy the overlays for less than $15, it still beats renting then from Disney for $37. Although maybe Disney would charge me a fee to set them up and it wouldn't be worth it. :confused3

And the more I see the work that Shelley from Impressions does, the more I really want her to do our invitations, table names, and place cards! So I think of ways to save one place, but ways to spend it somewhere else! :rotfl2:

Okay, first off, I love the dress that you're in love with!! It's very elegant and still has princess flair! Perfect! The BM dress that's in the running is lovely too! Very rewearable!

At first I was sort of against the idea of a video too; but after thinking about it and talking to my already married family members (and soon to be in laws) I was convinced. One of my FSILs says her and her hubby look at their wedding dvd more than their wedding album! :confused3 So I personally think it's a good idea. It is pretty neat for your children to be able to see someday. And for you and your DF of course, to look back on when you're both old and wrinkly. Hehe.

As far as the video. My mom had thought it would be nice to do, I didn't really care either way. It just did not end up being in the budget for us. We are going to have one of my FSIL or FBIL record it for us (at least the ceremony and first dance). Plus, I'm going to be a video with the pictures, if nothing else.

If it was in the budget I may have considered doing it. And if it is in your budget it may be something nice to have for momento.

Thank you, I love it too, how you described it is exactly right and that's why I love it! I definitely want the BM dresses to be rewearable since two of my sister's are BM's, and my mom will not like the cost of the dresses to begin with, so at least if they could wear them again it might lessen the blow :rotfl2:

I think I'm coming around to the idea. Everyone that has it is pretty glad they got it. My boss says his daughter watches it all the time and I know my mom will like having it. Plus, how much cooler would a Disney wedding be for your kids to watch?!

Well I was talking to Ryan about it and I was like, oh we can watch it every anniversary! And he was like...um no :rotfl:.

We are going to have one of my FSIL or FBIL record it for us (at least the ceremony and first dance). Plus, I'm going to be a video with the pictures, if nothing else.

If it was in the budget I may have considered doing it. And if it is in your budget it may be something nice to have for momento.

I really didn't feel like we needed it but now I'm starting to change my mind. We don't really have any family that could video tape it but that would be a great option!

DF and I disagreed about video. I didn't think we needed it, he really wanted it, especially since his grandmother won't be able to attend.

We are going with Apex Media. I liked their style...and their price!! Starfruit was great...way out of our price range.

That's why I feel like we need it too, my mom will definitely want to show it to her friends and family that couldn't come. I'd probably show the girls at work. I love Starfruit, but it is more than I wanted to spend on something I didn't even plan on having! Although when I get it in my head that I love something, I just can't go with anything else. That's why I'm lucky that my dress turned out to be not that expensive!

Cool! I'll check out Apex media :thumbsup2

I agree about the video. It's very hard to decide. I'm hoping the FSIL's dbf will be able to videotape the ceremony and parts of the reception. He's the videographer for Jim Breur so he knows what he's doing and I'm hoping we can guilt him into doing it...for free. Hehe. I have a hard time justifying paying over $1000 for a video I may only watch a few times. But I want it there to watch a few times. Ugh!! And I think I have to do DPS since it's in parks.

Hopefully your FSIL's dbf will do it. Jim Breur went to my high school and his nephew was in most of my classes. He was our town's claim to fame, well that and the movie Trees Lounge!

I know, they are really pricey, but then will I wish I had it? I think we're going to get it after all since we can't have everyone we want at the wedding, but now I definitely can't have my confetti cannons.:sad1:

They are $500 for the staged exit, and $650 for reception. I'm actually not sure that is the current pricing but that is what I saw on Disney's site and Magical Kingdoms.

The reception one looks awesome! It looks like the whole room is filled with confetti, they do it for the last dance. Christina and Geancarlo had it and the pics were amazing.

We probably won't do it because we'll most likely have the photography end before the reception and no sense having it if there aren't going to be any pictures! :sad1:

So Disney kind of squashed my bring my own linens idea. They apparently will not set them up, not even for a fee. My consultant also said they only begin setting up an hour before the event, so it's not like I could have my family set stuff up for me.

But I have found a chair solution! I LOVE the chiavari chairs, I think they are so elegant and Ryan doesn't like chair covers because he thinks they look like ghosts. I just have to have them. I know it will haunt me forever if I don't. But $12 a chair plus $200 to set them up is really pricey, especially since our guest list keeps growing! So I started looking into outside vendors since you can have them for indoor locations.

I found a vendor that charges $6 per chair and $60 to set them up. I told them Disney's restrictions, drop off and set up the hour before, removal at the end of the event and they said that is fine. Based on 90 guests (which we are quickly approaching), we would save almost $700 using this company.

Okay, next order of business...Save the Dates...

Well I got my low resolution pics from the Roots, but the ones we picked didn't work well with the original magnet we picked, so I had to go through the website last night. Okay which do you girls think? #1 or #2

I feel the same way sometimes. DF wants this big huge wedding and I'd be happy with something smaller. But it is good that they are looking forward to it too. :)

The chairs thing made my day yesterday! I found them on the knot central FL boards and seems like people have had good experiences.

Oh no, now we're even with the votes, I like how #1 has all the colors in it and how "Walt Disney World" on the bottom is bigger.

Thanks! It was tough to find a picture that worked for a magnet, but that one ended up being a good choice.

I officially have a Bridal party! All the girls loved their cards and are super excited about the Wedding! My MOH Chrissy has never been to Disney and she is soo excited. So here is the Bridal Party, Ryan still has to ask his guys, so I won't list them yet.

MOH 1: Chrissy, BFF since Jr. High
MOH 2: Erica, BFF since Jr. High
BM1: Kelley, my sister
BM2: Megan, my sister
BM3: Caitlin, Ryan's sister
Flower girl: Mia, my little cousin, she will be 5 at the wedding
Ring Bearer: Mikey, my little cousin, he will be 9 at the wedding

My Aunt called me and had the kids tell me themselves, well Mikey told me himself, Mia got shy, but my aunt said she was dancing around the house when they told her. :goodvibes

I'm still looking into videographers, I found one I liked that seems pretty inexpensive, they are Elegante Films, I heard about them from reading the Central FL Knot boards - although I'm a little too scared to post on those boards since I've seen how they've reacted to Disney Brides.

Can I also say that I have the most awesome photographers ever? The Roots emailed me and asked me if I needed any help planning and if I had any questions on other outside vendors. Jensey gave me some great recommendations for DJ's, Florists and Videographers. I thought it was so sweet of them to offer and it was great to have a local perspective!

Going Dress shopping with my mom and other sister tomorrow, so we'll hopefully get to see if the BL BM dress looks good on her too and I get to try on my dress again!

Yay I bought a cricut! I'm got it on Ebay for a pretty sweet deal. I loved the silhouette table numbers that Heidi had but I just don't think I have it in the budget for Shelley to do them, although I do still want to get the invitations from her. With the cricut Disney cartridges I could do them myself! I can also use it to make Mickey Head Fans/Programs. I can cut out Disney shapes to decorate the welcome bags/folders and even make Mickey Confetti if I want! Well I'm sure after I buy the cricut and cartridges and supplies (since they aren't really cheap but Ebay is great!) maybe I could have had her do them, but at least this way I will have the machine for scrapbooking and crafts. I'm very excited! :goodvibes

I officially have a dress! :goodvibes

I'm so excited. Went dress shopping with my mom and sister Kelley yesterday. This was the shop that had the Carrie dress I love. I tried on a few more dresses to give my mom and sis the full effect. I tried on the Maggie Fiorella dress again and then I tried on Maggie Hampton. The Hampton is a gorgeous dress but so heavy and the train is soo long!

Then I tried on the La Sposa and the Carrie again. Everyone loved the Carrie most, and for me it was still the one.

Here are some pics! Kelley was not nearly as good at the sneaky pics as Megan. With Megan, you really had no idea that she was taking pics, Kelley was kind of obvious. But it worked out because the consultant noticed and was like "Oh, let me get out of the picture." And then we knew we could take pictures! :cutie:

I really liked this shop a lot, they didn't pressure you at all. Even at the end of the appointment and I had gone on and on about how much I loved the dress, they still didn't try to pressure me to buy it. I really liked that. Their prices were a little higher, but they matched the price of the other salon, so we were very happy. We put down the deposit, but since I'm still losing weight and have some time we are not going to order the dress for a few months but each month I will check in with them to make sure the dress is not going to be discontinued.

I also found my BM dresses. Kelley tried on the BL dress but the fit wasn't quite right on her, it was a little too full on the bottom. But we found a dress by Watters that is almost the same style, but a little more fitted which will be more flattering on everyone. The color is called Slate, it's an iridescent taffeta, so it's really hard to pinpoint the color, it's kind of gray, kind of blue, kind of brownish depending on how the light hits it, but we all loved it!

Here's the link, it shows the actual color a little better:
http://watters.com/product.php?coll=wtoo&showid=2431

For the flower girl, at first I was going to let my aunt just find her a pretty party dress in a light purple because I felt bad that they would have to spend so much for a dress she can only wear once, but with the BM dress, it is impossible to match the color and I don't like the FG to look like a "mini-bride". Luckily Watters makes FG dresses too, so her's will be the exact same material as the BMs!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/46733_primary.jpg
She will not be wearing that weird hat! Everyone that I show the picture to is "oh, I don't know about that hat", they just assume it would be the whole outfit I guess! My aunt was completely fine with spending whatever the dress is going to cost, she didn't really like my original idea :rotfl: I think she even wanted something more princessy, but with the BM's in short dresses, I want the FG outfit to be more simple too. The ring bearer will be in a tux and match the guys.

Yay! I have a dress! :bride:

I think we're definitely going to do videography. I'm talking to Elegante Films now, they seem to have a style similar to Starfruit but way cheaper. If it all works out we'll probably book him.

I'm very excited about the cricut, they are pretty pricey, but I think it will be a huge help in the DIY wedding project department.

Thank you! It was actually in the right size, so I think that helped! Plus it has the lace up back, so that works like magic! ;) I'm going to wear my hair half up/half down. Probably curled, even though my hair doesn't really hold a curl for too long. I'm thinking of a headband as the headpiece, just something simple to add a little sparkle. :)

In an effort to procrastinate and not do the wedding things that need to get done (such as the newsletter, collecting addresses of guests, wedding website, etc) I decided to focus on invitations and jewelry!

I contacted Shelley from Impressions on doing the invite and I received a huge packet of stuff from her. Both DF and I loved the pocket invite with the castle logo on it so that's what we're going to go with. I have a call scheduled with her in a week and a half to discuss things. Here's some pics of the invites:
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0548.jpg

And DF loved all the enclosures and the cute little graphics on each one.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0553.jpg

DF even loved all the wording, and thought it was perfect. So we are going to use the "Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale". :lovestruc I know it is popular with the disbrides, but no one we know has ever used that so people will think it's cute and unique. ;)

I got my first cricut cartridge, and I can't wait to get the machine, should arrive on Monday but I think it will be perfect for making our table names, place cards and programs.

I ordered a necklace. I've been looking on etsy since so many disbrides love it, and I found one I absolutely loved! But I don't think it will look right with my dress and it will hang too low. Plus as awesome as the color is, it isn't used at all in my color scheme, but maybe one of you girls will like it and I can live vicariously through you. :)
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/il_430xN29551277.jpg

So here is the necklace I got. I think it will match the color scheme better and be a nice accent to my dress.

Oh, and the centerpieces are amazing too! :thumbsup2

I love those invites, all the disney touches are perfect.

The necklace is beautiful, I like the teal one as well, even though it doesn't go.

Thanks! We both loved the invites so much, I knew when she sent the sample before telling me prices I was going to be hooked. But I'll be doing a lot of other things myself and I think it will give everyone a little wow factor before the wedding.

I'm excited to get it, the lady is putting it together, she made a few changes to it, so I should have it next week sometime.

I really love them. Even people at work that aren't crazy into Disney loved them! I would love to get tons of stuff done by Impressions but I think after the invites, it will be DIY for a lot of other stuff.

Etsy is great, but I have to try not to look too much, otherwise I just find more stuff I need. I kinda want to get the teal one too, but then I don't have anything to do with it. So I have to force myself to wait at least until I get the one I ordered.

Thanks, I really like them, hopefully they won't cost a fortune! I think I heard low centerpieces were generally cheaper so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :cutie:

Hey girls,

I got all my cricut stuff in the mail! I'm super-excited to try it out, but I haven't had a chance yet. I'll let you know how it turns out. The box with the cricut expression is huge, and heavy!

I finally finished my newsletter and I have 6 days until Disney confirms my date! :woohoo: It will be so awesome to really have a wedding date! DF's sister is getting married on August 29th, so we won't send anything out until after her wedding. I finally found a dress for her wedding to! That was pretty scary for a while, I guess it's just an awkward time of year and I wanted a long dress and most places were clearing out their inventory and had no selection. I did find a dark blue dress and I'm ordering silver shoes to go with it. I'm thinking if the shoes I pick are comfy I'll just use them as wedding shoes too and they'll be kinda broken in.

This weekend I'm bringing my MOH's to try on their dresses, I had hoped to put on my dress again but when I called to make the appointment they said they sold the sample last weekend! At least we have tons of pics, but I was really looking forward to wearing it.

Still looking into videographers, will hopefully get some samples soon so we can make a decision. I'm coming around to the video thing, I feel like I really do want it, even though I really don't want to spend the money on it.

And of course, as if I didn't have enough to do, I've found myself another craft project. I'm pretty sure I'm doing to order freeze dried petals online, so I'm going to make the flower petal cones. I just can't come to terms with paying $2 per cone for something people will just throw away. I bought all the supplies at A.C. Moore, and I think it will be really easy to make them. I'll post a mock-up when I've put one together, but I've done a test run with post-it notes, so I know how it should work. :rotfl2:

Thanks Girls! I'm so excited, Pam just told me I should know by next Wednesday! I haven't put them together yet but I will definitely post pictures. I've been having some issues with my wisdom teeth, so not feeling so great lately. I'll take pics on Sunday of the girls in their dresses and post them.

Thanks so much. I was really happy with Shelley's work, even DF, who generally doesn't care too much about wedding things, loves them! As he says, his opinion on wedding stuff just doesn't matter as much as mine. :rotfl2: I have a call with her next week, right before I have to go to the dreaded oral surgeon. I'm very excited about the centerpieces, hopefully they won't cost a fortune!

Pretty good, I finally took the cricut out of the box today and read some of the manual, so off to a good start . Seriously though, it seems really awesome in terms of what it can do. You can even make confetti! I'm going to try it out this afternoon and I'll let you girls know what I think. So far I think it'll be perfect for what I want to do.

Hey girls,

Just finished playing with my cricut a little and it is totally awesome! It took about 1/2 an hour to get the hang of it but it is really easy to use, I love it!

First I cut out a Mickey head, then I did a Mickey and Donald silhouette. I tried to see how small I could make them. Here's a Donald.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0565.jpg

Then I put the princess cartridge in and cut a few different shapes. For the princess ones, I programmed it to cut out six different designs and as many of each that would fit on the page, in this case, three of each.

Here's what the princess silhouettes look like, I plan to use these for Table names, and a little cut out will go on each place card. They will be in purple or dark gray.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0564.jpg

Then I wanted to do a mock-up of the Mickey Programs. I didn't really have the proper sticks, so I used two popsicle sticks I normally use for rub-on transfers. I taped the sticks to the Mickey head and glued the other Mickey head on top. I wasn't really happy with this glue, so I'll have to find a different one. I then wrapped the sticks in ribbon and tied a little bow. I wrote our names on it for now to give you an idea but that'll be printed on the computer.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0562.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0563.jpg

I had it cut to fit portrait style the 8.5x11 paper but I think it needs to be a little bigger. When I did cut to fit landscape it was too big, so I may have to play with the size a little.

Okay then I wanted to do a mock-up of the petal cone. I cut the squares out on the cricut, four per 12x12 paper, but I only made them 5", so they need to be a little bigger.

I really wasn't happy with the glue, you can totally see it through the paper. :confused3 These were also kind of a pain to make, so I'm rethinking whether I want to do it at all. It did turn out okay, but it doesn't look as nice in person because the glue shows through.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0568.jpg

I really love the way rose petal tosses look, but it's so much more expensive then bubbles would be. Basically around $20 vs. $400 (if I used Disney) and close to $100 if I buy the freeze dried. But with the freeze dried Disney will have nothing to do with them, so it's the added hassle of trying to get them there, assemble everything and have someone put them out. Just not sure if it's really worth all that for two pictures.

I'm thinking lately too that I kinda want to get the Grand I for my exit from the Wedding Pavilion :cool2:. I'm hoping it can bring the family and Bridal Party over to the Marina and they can walk to the reception from there and then it can take us. If we need to rent it for two hours, it could bring me to the ceremony too.

I originally wanted the vintage cars, but the Model A Ford doesn't have A/C , and that is not an option in August, and the Rolls is pretty expensive, plus everyone back home gets vintage cars. The carriage is way out of our budget, but I figure the Grand I would be unexpected and have a wow factor similar to the carriage, but at a much lower cost. :)

The programs are awesome, I love what you were able to do with the cricut (it makes me want one :)) The little characters will look adorable.

Another option to the bubbles and roses is I know someone on here did the ribbon wands, I just can't remember who it was. The pictures looked really cute though, she got them made through etsy is I remember right, but they would not be too hard to make, if you would like another craft project. For the petals, glue dots, or a glue runner may work better since it is not liquid glue, I used the glue runner for my invites and it works really well.

I vote for the Grand I, it just seems more unique, you don't hear about it as much :thumbsup2

The cricut is so awesome, I had my MOH's over today and I cut a few Disney shapes out for fun to show them. They were amazed!

Hmm, petals and bubbles might be an option...then I could just get a few people and the rest have bubbles. I think glue dots would definitely work better, I think part of it is the paper too, it's a pretty thin vellum in light silver, so I think it's just prone to show through.

I'm really loving the idea of the Grand I, plus I've always wanted to go on it and spending the money on it for my wedding doesn't seem as extravagant as just renting it for fun. I know, I'm silly in how I justify things.

Thanks! I'm very pleased with the fan and the silhouettes. Now to find the right paper...You won't be sorry if you decide to get it, it's truly awesome. DF doesn't quite get it, but for making Wedding things it's awesome. It would be great for scrapbooking, and you do have that adorable son, who I'm sure looks so cute in so many pictures...just saying :rolleyes1

I got a really good deal on ebay, and the cartridges are usually less than 50% the normal price on ebay. My seller even offered free shipping so that was a bonus. There are tons of them on there. ;)

Oh no, I hadn't heard that and I know they used to do it, although you know how Disney can be. :confused3 I may have to fight for this one if they say no.

Thanks! I love how they turned out! Oh I know, I can't cut a straight line to save my life, so I knew the circles weren't going to work out. :rotfl2: I can't even cut a straight line with the paper cutter, I always put the paper in crooked! Then I try to even it up with scissors, which never works!

My MOH's had never herad of Mickey fans before so they thought it was really clever, I think our guests will really like it. And with the cricut making them will be so easy. Just gotta find the right paper and supplies.

The cricut is the most awesome thing ever. The girls were amazed yesterday and they aren't even into scrapbooking. It's seriously a scrapbooker's dream. I don't know if you're like me, but the only stickers I like are the three dimensional ones that cost $$$, this seems like it makes things similar to those Jolie's stickers. If you do buy one, definitely try ebay, you can save some money and everything I got was sealed up and brand new.

So our wedding will be at the Wedding Pavilion at 5 pm on August 17, 2010. She's holding space for us at the Grand Floridian for the reception and the Marina for our Dessert Party. In December we finalize the contract and get the reception locations nailed down. Let's hope there's no big convention on that day!

It feels so good to be able to say we have a wedding date, instead of "the wedding should be..."

pezaddict231
08-25-2009, 09:53 AM
Thanks for following along!

Well I will say I didn't have the easiest time with the monogram. Tried to use photoshop but got so frustrated since I don't really know how to use it and it's on DF's superslow pc. I used mac's equivalent to powerpoint and that worked a little better.

The mickey is actually an image, I googled mickey icon and that came up, I copied it and then inserted it into the file, then I was able to adjust the size. I got the idea from another bride (she used it to dot her i's), I had been trying to draw it with three circles but that wasn't working out and it was hard to move it, so the image method worked much better!

Thanks! It took me a while, but I'm pretty happy with it. Well if I don't get any videos soon, I think my choice is made :rolleyes1. I know, I was kinda okay with not having them, but then I saw Jeffrey Stoner's demo video (he's so far out of the budget range it's funny!) and a couple in it had them in there and it looked awesome.

Oh trust me, I was really ready to give up! It was the most frustrating wedding related thing I've done. I'm sure if I knew what I was really doing it could have been way better. Now hopefully I can get it to be bigger!

I really like them. I can't believe it either, what does an XL one hold? A 7 year old child? Thanks! It wasn't easy (for me at least), I'm glad I found a place to put it, I really wanted a little Mickey in there. ;)

Thanks for keeping my secret ;). They are really huge, on the website it says it holds one bag of groceries, so I was thinking it would be about the size of those reusable grocery bags, it's even bigger! And I was wondering after I ordered them if I should have gotten the large! :lmao: I was really impressed with the quality. They stand up all by themselves and they are really heavy! I had a little bit of a tough time carrying the box in the house!

Hey Everyone, it's been a busy week, we've been putting together our Save the Date packets and sending them out. We had DFSIL's wedding last weekend. It was beautiful, but her MOH used the quote we were going to use on our invitation in her speech. So now we have to figure out something else. It was the "Once in a while....love gives us a fairytale" quote. I know a lot of people say just use it and people won't remember but I'm pretty sure at least a few will remember and if even one person is like "oh is that where you got it?" I think I would lose it.:headache: So better not to take that risk.

Another issue that's been weighing on me lately is I don't think I like the BM dresses anymore. Well I like them, but the fabric is just impossible. I went to go see the FG dress in person because I have a feeling my aunt doesn't really like it. And in person, I really didn't like it either. :sad1: Then I went to find the BM dress to see if I could make another color work with it for the FG, and with the lighting in the store it looked brown. It's supposed to be gray. Not only that, but my DM was over the other day and she thought the dresses were brown when she saw them too. What if in pics the light is hitting two girls a little differently and the dresses look like different colors? But the biggest issue is nothing looks right with this color, so how would I be able to match flowers or anything to it? Then I got to thinking that maybe it's not formal enough to go with my dress either and the guys in tuxes. And it's not the right color for a FG and I don't want her in white/ivory to match me. I'd really like her to be in a light purple.

We haven't ordered anything, so it won't be a big deal to change them, but it's a little frustrating all the same. My MOH is up from Charlotte this weekend, so I'll see her and the other MOH and also see what they think.

I'll post pics of the newsletters and Save the Dates and envelopes (I used the monogram on that and it turned out great!) later on. I'm really pleased with the whole thing and everyone at work was so impressed, they thought they were professionally done.

wow i can't believe the color looks different in different lighting. the dress is very pretty but i also would be concerned with the color looking different in certain lighting. are there any other colors close to that color in that dress? my personal opinion is i like long dresses for BMs. i think it is more formal but i am not sure if i will be able to have full length being my MOH is pregnant. being you have not bought them yet at least you can look around and see what else there is. do you have time to have them try on some other dresses and then make a final decision? i hope it all works out!

oh and looking forward to seeing the newsletter and save the dates!:thumbsup2

that is crazy how they look different with the lighting. i think long dresses can be formal or non-formal. my worry is how is the weather at the time of your wedding? would it be too hott for long dresses? or too short for cold weather.

I couldn't even find it in the one store, I looked through every dress in the rack and it was with the brown ones. :confused3 I knew the iridescent taffeta did look a little different sometimes depending on the light, but it was pretty drastic in that one store, you would never even think it was gray. I do like the idea of tea length, I think it's cute and fun, but I'm starting to think maybe a long dress would be better, unless it's a really fancy short one. We're going to have all the guys in tuxes, so I don't want the girls to look too casual. We do definitely have time, the stores told me it only takes three months to come in and the wedding is next August, so no worries on that end at least!

I'll definitely be posting that soon, me and DF were really excited about the final product and our little printer (free by rebate when I got my mac) did a great job!

It was really bad, I could deal with them looking more blue, but looking brown? And even my mom thought they were brown, she was like, oh it's the same color as your garbage can, it isn't my garbage can is a espresso brown, but it was disturbing that she thought that!

It will be really hot, it's going to be mid August. But DF definitely wants the guys in black tuxes. We'll mostly be inside though, so I think if I picked a lightweight long dress they would be okay. Maybe just a silky satin, chiffon or something like that. Taffeta is definitely out though, I can't deal with the two tone color stress :rotfl:

That is so odd that they look so different in the different lighting...it is a good thing you caught that now!!! If you are really unhappy, and you can still change, I would definitely consider it! I personally like brown, but if it wasn't what you were going for, it won't really work.

I like the length of the dress as it is posted, but I think it would look nice any length!

And I personally like long bridesmaid dresses. My bridesmaids wore long dresses and our wedding was on August 1 and the ceremony was outside! It was a light fabric, but I think they will be fine. All the guys wore their tuxes and they looked more hot than any of us girls!

I know it really can be chilly there sometimes, my grandparents live in Fl and we went in January one year and it was COLD, like I need to be in a sweatshirt cold.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't put them in big heavy ballgowns....or would I

I agree, I think they will be okay as long as it's not a super heavy material and we won't be outside that much. The poor guys, I do feel a little bad for them, but DF definitely wants tuxes, he was just saying yesterday how much he likes wearing tuxes.

So this week we assembled and sent out our Save the Date packets, we are missing a few addresses so we have about 10 more or so that need to go out.

Here are the newsletters, I was able to print them on my home printer which saved me a bunch of money and I did only go through 1 cartridge . The biggest problem was Max was extremely interested in the printer and kept trying to put his head in it, then he bit a few of the pages, so I had to get rid of those.

It was four pages, I printed them double-sided, so I did pages 1 and 3 first and then re-fed them into the printer for 2 and 4. I did 15 each night and it only took about an hour each night to print and assemble.

The newsletter was done in Pages for Mac, Andreah (acwinsett) was kind enough to send me her template so I based a lot of it off of that. Vanessa (figmentfan814) also sent me her newsletters which were a big help in what type of info to include. A big thanks to both of them, they made putting it together so much easier! :goodvibes

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/SaveTheDateNewsletter.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/SaveTheDateNewsletter2.jpg

Along with the newsletter we included our Save the Date Magnet, we got these from Magnet Street, it was a little more than I would have liked to spend on magnets, but I liked that you could completely customize the colors and we are pleased with how they turned out.

To

For our wedding website we used mywedding.com. It is a free site but provides for a lot of customization which I liked. The URL is also not super long. It was also really easy to use, and you can copy and paste into the text boxes (unlike weddingtracker). I would have liked a custom URL but all the ones I wanted were taken, so I figured why pay extra.

This all went in lovely self adhesive greeting card envelopes I got from Walmart, I printed the return address on them and added our monogram. The to addresses were done on clear address labels in Disney font. Sorry for the poor quality pic, they are white but they had them in ivory too. http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0600.jpg

So DF mailed those out on Friday, so people should begin getting them early in the week.

We also did our registry on Saturday since I guess people have been asking. Wow, that was exhausting and overwhelming! We also made the mistake of not eating beforehand and we both got a little cranky at the end . And those ladies really push the china and fancy picture frames. They did sell me on china in the end, we got an everyday one though, but I resisted the picture frame urge.

And since people have been hinting they will be sending us engagement gifts, I got these for thank you cards. I thought about doing them through vistaprint using our monogram, but these turned out to be cheaper since they were 40% off. They had a few different disney designs (fab five, nemo, NBC, princess, dalmations, lion king) and lots of non-disney designs. We got them personalized to say "Ryan and Sara" so we can use them for whatever.

Wow, that was a long update!

Thanks girls! I really liked how everything turned out and DF couldn't wait to send them out! Now here's hoping people actually send back the Pre-RSVP card! The website was a lot of work, but I'm hoping it will eliminate some questions from people and most of the info is just copied and pasted from the Dis or Allearsnet, so it wasn't too bad putting it together. ;)

Had dinner with the MOH's tonight and we're going to go dress shopping on Friday, so hopefully we find something. I've been scouring the Knot for BP pics with tea length dresses but most are with simple or lace bridal gowns, so still not sure on that front. I guess we'll try on both kinds and see what we end up liking.

The shoes I got from shoebuy. Love that website, you can order a bunch and send back the ones you don't like, you don't pay for shipping or returns and they process the returns really quick too.

I actually got them for DFSIL's wedding and they were surprisingly comfortable. I lasted a good 9 hours in them, which is really more than I can ask for in any shoe. My feet do not tolerate most shoes, so if I can keep them on most of the night, I consider that a bonus.

The little decoration on the front is way more sparkly in person.

Today I went BM dress shopping with my MOH's and one of my other friends came along for another opinion. We had such a great time! We just pulled a ton of dresses and they took turns trying them on. I had changed my mind about the whole tea length, so we pulled short and long, a few for laughs and the only thing off limits was taffeta! :rotfl2:

We narrowed it down to four and then they swapped the ones they hadn't tried on yet and we were able to pick one. It is by Bill Levkoff but it's from another line he just came out with called D'Zage. I brought the camera but forgot to take pics. Here's a link for you girls though.

http://dzage.com/collections/index.asp?dress=749
although I don't remember a brooch, so I guess it must be removable  The dress is satin and will be in a shadow gray. I think the dress will look great and it fits the wedding so much better than the short dresses did.

The MOH's really loved it. I told them they could keep the train and Erica was super excited. It seems every wedding she's in that has a dress with a train the bride has made them cut it off. I think it looks nice on the girls when they're walking down the aisle, and besides, mine is way bigger. :lmao:

We also got our very first Pre-RSVP back from DF's aunt, she is very excited about the wedding since they love Disney. :cutie:

Have to watch two more sample videos and make a decision on the videography soon. I liked the video from Cinema Chic, I have one from OneI productions and Visual Effects by Seth. Jeffrey Stoner was giving a discount of $999 on any package booked in the next 9 days, but unfortunately his packages start at $5k, so not even remotely in our budget even with the discount. :rotfl2:

We're also decided to try to make our own invites. I love Shelley's work, but it will save us a lot of money if we can do them ourselves so I'm going to order the samples from cards and pockets and try to print a few things up. I came up with a template that looks pretty good. Hopefully it works out, it just seemed silly to spend so much on something most people will just throw away. And now that I know I have a color printer, I find myself inspired to use it more. :)

So I was looking for more cinematography than your regular wedding video. Really liked Starfruit but they were too pricey. I didn't want to spend more than $2k on video. I also wanted someone unobtrusive that would stay more in the background. This is really important to DF too.

I asked the Roots if they could recommend anyone and they said that they had a wedding and worked with Kat from Cinema Chic and that she was a delight to be around. Now the Roots are pretty darn delightful themselves, so I knew I'd have to look into this. :)

They also suggested Jeffrey Stoner, but he is nowhere in my budget range, although his work looks so different and awesome. I would have loved it if I had $5k to spend on video.

After looking at a few others, and watching a few demos, I looked at Elegante Films, Tin Can Weddings, STVS, A Moment to Remember, and Visual Effects by Seth, I finally decided on.... Cinema Chic! :cutie: www.cinemachicfilms.com

I liked her style a lot, she's been good on the communication end. I'm going to contact her tomorrow and book her. There was also a bride on here that just used her and was really happy with her on the wedding day and I look forward to seeing a video clip when it's ready.

So yay! That's finally decided. We also decided that we are not going to do the in-park bridal portraits. While I do think it's cool to have pics at MK with no one there, it's just too much money for a few pictures (even more to get the image discs), and DF agreed. We will be pre-ordering the photopass CD and I hope we get some really cool group shots in the parks.

I also ordered the samples from Cards and Pockets, can't wait to get those!

This is also my first week officially back on WW. I've been a little lax with it over the summer, but luckily only gained 1.6 lbs. I knew I had probably gained a little, but I've lost 23 lbs so far which is pretty fantastic. Now we really have to kick it in gear for the wedding. I am excited about being back on program, I do actually enjoy it, although I suspect that I've reached the limit of dieting without exercise so I have to start incorporating that too. I have to order my dress by December, so time to get moving! :bride:

Just caught up. I definitely support the idea of making your invites, it saves a ton! Can't wait to see your mock ups.

And I love the new BM dress. It's very classy.:thumbsup2

Congrats on choosing a videographer! It must feel good to have one more thing checked off! Also, yay for joining WW again! Are you doing the online one, or the actual going to the meetings?? I joined it this summer (online) but I didn't loose any weight, but everyone else I know that joined did! I think I am just the one out of 100 people it didn't work for!! I have a friend on it right now, and she has lost soooo much! And she looks and feels good!

I love your save the dates they are so cute!! Also the necklaces are great I love that blue one I may have to go check it out. I never knew what esty was till like last week now I am obsessed. Your Mickey programs look great. I just got a cricut to. How are you going to print the wording on your programs? I can not figure out how to do that yet.

At first I thought it would be too much work, but I'm starting to really like the idea. I've been working on a few things and can't wait to get my supplies so I can try them out. Thanks! I think it definitely is, and fits the whole vibe of our wedding much better.

It was a tough decision and I had a lot of trouble watching the demos, I would get bored, not like the couple, not like the music...but I'm really happy with my choice and she seems really nice. And now I never have to think about that again which is the real reward!

I do the monthly pass, so I go to meetings once a week (but I could go more often if I wanted) and I have access to the E-tools. I think the meetings really make a difference. I feel like I learn so many more strategies and it's actually kinda fun. I did online only a few years ago, lost maybe 5 lbs if that and that was it. I found when I only did online it left way too much room for interpretation and I didn't have any accountability. As silly as it sounds, I really don't want to disappoint that lady weighing me in! I also bought the scale and measuring set and it's made a huge difference.

Thanks! I loved that blue one, and I would love it if you bought it and then I can live vicariously through you! :goodvibes Don't worry, I had no idea about etsy until the Disboards, and it is hard to stay away now. :rolleyes1

I haven't tried printing yet, but I'm going to cut them on 8.5X11 paper. When you cut the Mickey, the rest of the page will make a template of sorts, I'm going measure it and use probably Pages for Mac (but you could use a word processing) and set the margins. Since I'll have my "template", after I print I can just put it on top and see where the type falls and adjust it accordingly. Then I'll print them and have the cricut cut them after that. I'm hoping this works out to be relatively easy...there was another bride on here that used the cricut to make Mickey invites and she did something similar.

Congrats on booking the Videographer. They have a nice style. That's great that you are going back to WW, it's never easy.

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm happy to finally have that done. I do really like her work now that I've seen the demos and she did a really great courtship story on there, probably the best I've seen...I told DF we need to learn how to surf since that's what that couple did! There was also an awesome Trash the Dress video shoot...but I don't want to trash my dress.

I'm feeling really motivated. My little break was nice, but it's nice to have some structure. Lol, as you can probably guess, I'm the type of person that likes to have a plan, so I think that's why WW really works for me. ;)

Thanks so much! It really does feel great, I would not have been happy wedding dress shopping when I was heavier. I'm only 5'2, so there's not many places for the weight to go ! I don't mind you asking at all. I want to lose at least 13 more pounds to reach my WW goal, but ideally I'd probably like to lose about 20-25 more total. Of course, I really just want to tone up more than anything so if I lost 13 but was really toned, than that would be perfectly fine with me. ;)

You're definitely not alone, there are so many brides here in the same boat, if you ever need help or encouragement, you can always count on me, it's always easier when you have someone you can share ideas with. :goodvibes

Hey everyone, just wanted to give a mini update.

We officially have Kat from Cinema Chic booked, so I'm very excited about that. :goodvibes

The other day when I ordered the invitation samples, I noticed that Cards and Pockets does their own printing so I also sent a sample of the invite I designed for a quote today and I already heard back from them! The price was really reasonable, it was only $25 for 50 invites. I think it's definitely worth it to save me time and ink, they also come pre-cut and you could have them matted if you wanted. I also added the "bleed to edge" option, but if you didn't need that it would only be $17.50 for the invitations. So I'm going to get a sample and see how it comes out because the design I made is really color intensive so I'm not sure my poor little printer can handle it! I also have two other designs that are not as ink intensive in case it doesn't work out, but DF and I both like this one the best.

I've really been having fun with the invitations. I can't wait for the supplies to come but they're still "in process"

I got our little cards we ordered for Thank You's, so I'll post a pic of them later and I forgot I also got a hoodie on ebay to wear on the wedding day while I'm getting ready, so I'll post a pic of that later too. :)

Hey girls! I got my order from cards and pockets today! I was so excited. :goodvibes I am really pleased with the quality of the materials. I also ordered two sample pocket kits and they came with way more blank invitations and enclosure cards than it said online so that was really cool. I decided I wasn't crazy about the square invite, but here it is for you to see. Plus it probably requires more postage. While the cream pocket looks elegant, the whole thing is just too light with the lilac mat in person.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0627.jpg

So I'm not sure if we'll go with the signature or the Vertico. Here's the signature. It's a matte pocket with a silver shimmer mat. I really like how it looks in person, but not sure if there is enough of a contrast with the two colors.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0629.jpg

Then there's the vertico pocket. I got this in a lilac shimmer pocket with a dark gray (matte) mat
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0630.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0632.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0633.jpg

i think they all look great. You'll also have noticed we have three different invitation designs. The one with the castle background I need to wait for their sample (mine doesn't print all the way to the edges). Which do you like best?

1) scroll castle, love how simple and elegant it is. The design is slightly cut off here but wouldn't be on the actual invite.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0635.jpg

2) Purple Castle, I like how this picks up the purple background, but maybe it looks too childish?
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0631.jpg

3) Castle Background, DF likes this best, but I'm not sure if it's too busy.

Everything was surprisingly easy to put together but I think I'll get the glue I can reposition and dries permanent. I'll also probably have Card and Pockets do the printing since it's cheaper than a new printer cartridge anyway. ;)

They are beautiful! I vote for either their the first, or the last one. The first one is classic and clean while the last one is different, although it may be a little difficult to read in it's current state. So I think the first may be my favorite, it kind of looks like the other one, you wanted from Impressions. The colors of the pockets look lovely as well.

Thanks Girls! We've decided we're definitely going to use the first one. Lol, yes it is the exact logo from the impressions invites, the image is actually from a photo of that invite that I edited, it's lucky that one of my colors is gray anyway ! I do feel a little bad about doing it that way...but the extra $500 in my pocket helps me to get over that pretty fast. ;)

Now we just have to decide on the pocket, we're going to do the Vertico one since DF thinks it's scroll like and reminds him of a Royal Proclamation. :cutie: But now we have to decide shimmery or matte. DF likes the matte but the silver background doesn't really go with anything, the dark gray brings out the type and design more, but looks better on the shimmery pocket...so I just don't know. Ahh, the joy of wedding planning, agonizing over tiny details that your guests will probably not even think about! :rotfl2:

Our little notecards came last week. They turned out really cute and we figure we can use them as thank-you's and just for random notes.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0626.jpg

I also got myself a little hoodie to wear the morning of the wedding while getting ready. I ordered it from a seller on E-bay. I like the quality, but I wish the type was in script, I should have specified but the listing showed all script so I didn't think of it. The colors are perfect the hoodie is dark gray with lilac embroidery. It's also too big though, but I guess it really won't matter. It cost around $35 so it was a great deal compared to what these things normally cost. I may end up getting a smaller one if I lose a lot more weight before the wedding, but for now this one is fine. I showed DF and he got a big kick out of it.

I also decided to use an outside Florist. It just seems that you don't get as much for the money with Disney. I mean, $125 for a BM bouquet? The Roots recommended Lee Forrest, so I contacted him. He seems really nice and we have a call scheduled on Thursday to go over everything. He also sent me some general pricing info and I'm liking the numbers I see, it seems really reasonable. And I feel like I will definitely be able to stay within my budget but get everything I want. I sent him a ton of inspiration pics and I'm really excited to talk to him on Thursday!

I might ask for a membership for christmas and then I will have 6 months of toning. I have lost around 13 myself. But I still have a long way to go before my goal, I want to loose 20 more. it can be so frustrating! especially because DF eats like a 13 year old boy. :headache: How do you motivate yourself to be good? Lol, you can definitely ask me anything, especially about weight loss! ;)

Yeah it's not so great when you're short since there aren't too many places for the weight to go. The good thing is you know your dress already looks good on you, so if anything, it will look even better! :goodvibes

Gym memberships are really expensive, I'm not sure where you live but around here they've opened a new gym called Planet Fitness. Memberships start at just $10 a month. You could also take up walking outside and that would be free. I'm a big fan of workout videos, you can do it in your own home and they are really affordable. I bought the Jillian's 30 Day Shred workout and it's a really tough workout!

13 lbs is a great loss so far! That's almost 15 lbs and really a great accomplishment! I just tell myself if I give up I'll never get there, but if I keep going I'll eventually reach my goal, it may take longer than I'd like but I'll get there. It can be really frustrating when you're at a standstill, but as long as you aren't gaining that is an accomplishment too. My next milestone is 25 lbs, but it's taking forever to get there, this week I was at 24.8! But when I start to feel a little frustrated I remind myself of how far I've come and give myself credit for that.

It is very hard sometimes to stay motivated and my DF eats a ton too. I like WW because it's all about choices, I can have the occasional cupcake or fries, but I just have to plan for it. I also plan out all my meals so I know what I'm having each day...as I'm sure you can guess, I like to have a plan lol! I also usually have a little treat at the end of the day. Usually a WW ice cream bar or a Skinny Cow ice cream. Knowing I get my treat helps keep me on track the rest of the day. =)

I will have to see if there is one of those gyms around here. I like the gym because I have to go to it and once i'm there I need to stay a while or it wasn't worth it. so it pushes me. I have Wii fit, and I was doing really well! and then...I stopped being good! booo. I was doing WW for a while as well, I refuse to pay for meetings but I was just keeping track. but its terrible living with a boy! I have also not wanted to go grocery shopping! which is terrible i know so I have just been eating whatever we have. Skinny cow is my FAVE I ran out which has made me bad. NEED to motivate myself back on track. Its really hard for me because i'm a vegetarian and Now that school has started I have to pack lunch and I am very limited on what i can bring. Once my mom leaves this weekend (she is terrible and always takes me out to dinner...) I will push myself back on track! I am determined. On the bright side DF actually noticed my weight loss! :cloud9: which is a big thing for him because he is so unobservant!

okay so goals! go to grocery store and get real food, and stop living off pretzels. go back to my WII fit, and plan my meals out! You are my inspiration, I am not alone in this annoyance! :thumbsup2

I know! I never want to go grocery shopping, but if you do one big trip and stock up on good things you can only make little trips after that and maybe just give your DF list! There are way worse things to munch on than pretzels...like I would do chocolate covered pretzels! :rotfl:

Aww that's great your DF noticed, it really helps when people notice and compliment you, it make it easier to stick with the program. ;)

Lol, I don't know about an inspiration  I just work at it, and sometimes I really have to have a cheeseburger or cake...but I try to get back on track as soon as I can. I'm glad to be able to help and we're definitely in this weight loss thing together! :goodvibes

I totally agree about WW. I lost 25-30 lbs there a few years ago and I've kept it off. I still sometimes try to keep to the amount of points. You don't need a gym to workout. You could always go running, do squats, lunges, chair dips, and pushups (even modified) without any equipment except shoes (and a good sports bra ;) ) There are a ton of places to that provide programs for free, just google it. And as for keeping accountable, I know the DIS has the WISH boards so you can use that as a group for free!

I just couldn't see paying $125 for a BM bouquet especially since they probably aren't even going to bring it home with them. And I gotta watch all my pennies. ;)

It always seems to take longer, but they say if you're doing it right it should take a long time, then it's more likely to stay off. I feel really comfortable with where I am, and my dress looks great now, but I'd like to get rid of the arm pudge! :lmao:

I can't wait to use the Minnie & Mickey cards! People need to give us some presents :lmao:

So I had my phone meeting with Lee Forrest today and I have to say he is delightful! He was so nice and we really seemed to click, it felt so much like just talking to a friend about flowers. He's going to put together a proposal for me which I'll get in a few weeks and he seemed really flexible about everything and said he could work with me to make everything fit our budget.

So now onto the good stuff! What are we getting....

My flowers, so my bouquet will be a mix of flowers with purples and ivory. I'm also going to have some gardenias in there because I love the smell!
So something like this but with gardenias in there too.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/a8aa8a6020617622b9cf3bfd5c962f2f_m.jpg

And some of the filler buds like this one has, it's the little green buds
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/b199557469.jpg

For the girls, their bouquets will be something like this, I love the leaves on the bottom. We decided to not use Hydrangeas since they will wilt pretty easily and it's going to be hot in August.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/6b60f5a41630efdfffad178b2794e99f_m.jpg

But half tied instead like this: http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/9d3dd92a442553c11e9edcf311585c84_m.jpg

The FG will have a basket of petals, gotta find out if Disney lets her toss the petals and if there are restrictions on the color.

For the mothers we will have nosegays with a mix of purple and ivory flowers. For the grandmothers a pin-on corsage of lavender orchids with some greenery and ribbon.

For the guys, Ryan's boutanniere will be like this
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/large_image-2.jpg

The GM and fathers / grandfathers, will have two purple orchids instead since the purple are smaller. The RB will have one orchid in his.

For the ceremony, I want to keep it pretty simple since I think the WP is so beautiful already. We're going to do swagging on the aisles with orchids and greenery bows in lavender. It will be sorta like this.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/awp.jpg

We're going to have two small arrangements in glass jars on the alter on either side of the unity candle.

For cocktail hour, we're going to have a few julip cup arrangements. Kinda like these ones that Heidi had, but with our flowers of course.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/0716.jpg

For centerpieces we're doing all low arrangements like this, but in purples and ivory and greenery. With 3-4 votives, whatever it is that Disney allows.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/30144645cedc7790298fb6b2f9b80a23_m.jpg

For the sweetheart table we're going to use the ceremony pieces and then have my bouquet and two of the girls bouquets. For the cake table we'll have the other three bouquets and the Mother's nosegays. On the guestbook table we'll have a memorial vase with ivory and lavender roses. For the seating cards there will be rose petals and some votives.

We got so much done and I can't wait to see the proposal. Some things may get have to get cut so we'll see, but I'm really happy with everything so far.

Wow, you definitely got a lot taken care of with the flowers. I love the bouquets, I love gardenias as well, I am having a fake one in my hair. Just remember that real ones are delicate and may brown through out the day, but they are beautiful.

Hopefully, the proposal is within your budget and it works out. Another thing done! Everything will look beautiful with those flowers.

Your flowers sound like they are going to be beautiful! love the mix of purple and ivory-it will be beautiful.:flower3:

shipped to sea-yes hydrangeas do wilt pretty easily if not in water. we had that problem at my friends wedding-she had the bridesmaids with hydrangeas. they were beautiful-i do love hydregnas but did start to wilt. usually if they start to wilt and you put them back into water they will come back to life. talk to your florist about having maybe water bowls around in case you need to refresh them, that is what we did with our flowers when not using them or in between pictures. hope this helps! :goodvibes

Lee was really great, he really thought of everything! Thanks! I think they are just so pretty, so I gotta have 2 or 3 in my bouquet. Thanks for the tip, they're going to be used pretty sparingly so I'm not too worried. I saw some really nice fake ones on Etsy, they looked so real, I'm sure it's going to look great in your hair!

I know, I really hope it is too, but Lee seemed really willing to work with me to make it work and hopefully we wouldn't have to cut too much.

Thanks so much. I think they'll turn out great. Well he did say they were the most delicate out of the flowers I had picked, and that they do need a lot of water or they wilt. Lee said he would pack them with a water source and we could wait until the last possible minute to unpack them but it just seemed like a lot of effort and I'm not really attached to them, so figured he might as well just use something else. Your florist will find a way to make it work. :thumbsup2

Thanks Stephie! I'm so excited about them! I like mixed bouquets in general, but I think it will really look nice with the purple and ivory and a little greenery thrown in there.

Oh shippedtosea, if they did 1/2 wrapped stems it would probably be really easy to put them in water.

It was so exciting on Friday, we got the very first gifts off our registry! We got home and there was this big box on the side of the house. It turns out DFMIL got us our toaster oven and microwave for an engagement gift, they came separately but we have them both now and they are awesome! :goodvibes

I also tried an experiment for my invitation envelopes and it worked! I've really wanted to do some heat embossing, it didn't work for the regular invites but I thought it might for the envelopes. Since the material is shiny, the ink doesn't dry very quickly. So I sprinkled some embossing powder on it and used my heat tool and it turned out beautiful and looks like I had them professionally printed....now if I can just figure out the right way to feed them in the printer because my sample printed upside down. :rotfl2:

So my new dilemma for the week is white or ivory for my dress. I just don't know, and the sample I tried on was ivory, so I just figured I'd get that but now I'm second guessing myself. My problem is I can't visualize it in white at all, and there is no shop near here that has the dress in white, only 1 other shop had the dress at all !

We also decided that we are definitely going to try to get the confetti cannons , I think DF just wants me to stop talking about them! :lmao: I think I'll really regret it if we don't get them and I think it's such an awesome way to end the night. :goodvibes

#1) Congrats on the gift!!! YAY!
#2) I know what you mean about white or ivory! I personally really wanted white, since I knew I would dye my hair back to brown before the wedding (and I think white with brown hair looks really good). My dress ended up only coming in off-white, so I didn't have a choice. I guess with ivory or off white, if something happens to your dress (you spill something, makeup smudges, etc) it is probably less likely to show.
#3) I don't really know what confetti canons are, but they sounds fantastic :banana::banana:

oh the white or ivory dilemma! I had it too! I originally wanted ivory but..my dress only came in white so...that was my choice made. I would probably say if you fell in love with the dress that you tried on in ivory stick with it, you know for sure that you love it in that color! Unless you can find it somewhere with white. or maybe try a similar dress on in white? see how you feel?

yay confetti canons!

It was so exciting! We got two more too, but I think that may be it for a while. Yeah, I just always pictured my dress being white, and I do have brown hair...;). Omigosh! You don't know what they are? They are only the most awesome thing ever (okay, well maybe not ever but pretty awesome). Here's one that I found, I blurred out the people, but you can get the idea. And you can have it in all different colors too!

The gifts were so exciting! I know, I always pictured myself wearing white. I did love my dress and liked the ivory enough but I really love how a bright and crisp white can look, so I'm leaning in that direction now. I also was watching "Say Yes to the Dress" and one of my worst ivory dress fears was on the show! The girl's veil didn't match her dress, it was too yellow and then she got white but that was too bright, so it was a whole ordeal to find the right color. Since Maggie Sottero doesn't make veils, I'm worried I could have the same problem.

I am beyond excited for the confetti cannons! I just love seeing them on tv and when they do it at Broadway shows, so to have them just for me is like a dream! :goodvibes

This weekend we went to DF's friend's at home reception. It was at their house and really fun and casual. It was also fun to see our Save the Date Magnet on other people's fridges and everyone was really excited for our wedding. :goodvibes

I think I've decided on white for the dress. I'm just really worried about things not matching and I really love how crisp and clean white dresses look. And I look good in white, and it will make my mom happy. She really didn't like the idea of an ivory dress, probably just her being old fashioned, but as they saw Mom knows best. ;)

We got another gift from DF's grandma. She gave us our cake set and a setting of our china. I didn't think I wanted china but the BB&B lady talked us into casual china and I really like it. It's Twirl Simply Fine by Lenox, it's just simple and elegant I think, and can be dressed up and down.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm56/Pezaddict231/wedding%20stuff/IMG_0697.jpg

Here are the samples of the envelope I did with the embossing powder, but I'm so happy with how it turned out. This week we got DFSIL's thank you note and she had them all done by an Invitation shop and my envelope embossing looked just as good. :)

Now just to figure out the invite colors and order supplies. I did get a few more samples from Cards and Pockets, so hopefully we can have all that ironed out real soon.

Thanks! We didn't really even plan on getting dishes since we already have some and my mom has some she bought for me ages ago...but then we were in the store...and that lady was kinda making sense...we would never buy it for ourselves and other people like to buy that stuff as gifts....and before you knew it we had plenty of things on the registry! :lmao: I really have to get those thank you's out. We definitely didn't expect anything so it was really nice for people to think of us.

I did do the embossing myself. It was actually pretty easy. You need to use paper made out of a shiny material so the ink doesn't dry too fast. As soon as it comes out of the printer sprinkle the embossing powder on it and then after you shake off the excess you can use the heat tool and voila! It's kinda fun and I'm trying to think of even more stuff I can emboss!

Yay! Welcome to the white club :lmao:

Lol, glad to be a member :rotfl:!

Thanks! I can't wait until we have more then one set. Of course DF opened the box and didn't pay attention to how it was arranged and now we can't get everything to fit again. So we have a random set of the china with our other dishes. I'm really excited to start embossing some more stuff! I bought glitter powders too but the results were disappointing, so I'll stick with the metallic and opaque.

Omigod, Monkey bread is so delicious! I had it for the first time this weekend and had to have it again. It tastes kind of like donuts and kinda like a giant cinnamon roll. The recipe I used was so easy. .

Here's the recipe:

4 (7.5 ounce) tubes of Pillsbury Buttermilk biscuits
1/2 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1 cup packed brown sugar

DIRECTIONS
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one Bundt Pan (mine was 12 cups and it was perfect, don't use a tube pan you want a solid pan).

2) Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag. Cut biscuits in half. Shake 6 to 8 biscuit pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan. Continue until all biscuits are coated and placed in pan.

3) In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the biscuits, I layered 1/2 the biscuits, poured the sauce on, topped with the rest of the biscuits and drizzled the rest of the sauce.

4) Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate. Do not cut! The bread just pulls apart.

It is soooo delicious warm, but it's good the next day too. I brought it into work and everyone devoured it! It was gone by 10 am! And everyone hounded me for the recipe and they all plan to make it over the weekend! :lmao:

Thanks! I felt the exact same way, we were going to get them done but it seemed silly to spend so much on something pretty much everyone will throw away and I figured the money would be better spent on something at the wedding.

It was really easy and the tools are not that expensive. We have craft stores that have weekly coupons, so it was even cheaper. I have found though that the glitter powders, even though they look pretty in the jar, don't work so well and the glitter doesn't melt. I like the metallic and the opaque. The Zing brand ones seem to work best of the ones I've tried.

I did try it on an actual invite, I used the pearl metallic cardstock and it did look nice, so it could definitely work. You just need a material where the ink won't dry quickly, like the metallic cardstock / envelope or vellum.

If you have any questions when you actually do it, feel free to ask. :)

Aww, thanks! A lot of it is the magic of make-up and photography! I really liked that dress too, it's so summery and comfortable. I got it at Ann Taylor Loft over the summer but I saw similar things in Lord & Taylor...you may even be able to find something on sale now that the summer's over. ;)

Your guest book is great! I agree though, too bad people have to sign it... that's the problem with having such an awesome guest book.

Thanks everyone! I'm so in love with everything the Roots do! I can't wait to have them take our wedding pics. I do have to go through the book in detail and see if they left off any of our favorite pictures. ;)

lol, I know! And what if they smear the ink from the pen or something, ooooh that would make me so mad! :lmao: But then it seems silly to do something else when I'm already getting this....so we'll see. ;)

Welcome! Thanks so much, I love the glass slipper too, it's in our living room now so I see it everyday. :)

Lol, yeah there were times that I thought I would never get my Disney wedding. But it really does all work out in the end, and now I think DF is just as excited about it, although he had his doubts at first. ;)

I can't wait to get my dress, we're going to order it in December, so still a long ways before I can wear it again. I have to say I thought the fit of Maggie Dresses were the best, esp for me, I have a large bust so it's hard to find things that fit that but don't make my waist look bigger. It couldn't hurt to try a few on to get an idea. But if you do find one you love, you just gotta stop looking! :lovestruc

Hey Girls,

Well this has been a horrible week at work, I was just so busy and tired every night, hardly any time to devote to the disboards :sad2:, but that's all over now, hopefully!

Warning: this post contains the excessive use of dancing bananas:rolleyes:

Our Disney Wedding is in 10 months!:banana::banana:

And I do have some other good news...I booked our PS trip!:banana::banana:

At first we weren't sure if we were going to do it, but the more I read PS trip reports the more I really wanted to, and DF said yes! He can't take too much time off from work, so we only planned to do 3 nights.

I was so excited when they released the new 4/3 deal, but it wasn't really going to work for us since now you have to buy 4 days of tickets and we'll have AP's. Also, my DF is a resort snob and will only stay at Deluxe resorts, so we definitely needed a deal.

So today I check my email and I got a 40% off pin code from Disney!:banana: I was so excited and got to booking our trip right away! I have gotten a lot of these codes in the past, but I could never use them, so it was really exciting to have one I could finally use. :goodvibes

Okay onto the details already! We're going to Disney from Thurs March 25 - Sun March 28 and will be staying at the Yacht Club!:cloud9: I only hope it's warm enough to use Storm Along Bay!

Today is also the deadline for our Pre-RSVP's, but we're still missing about 30% of them. But the way it stands I figure we'll have about 75 people.

I should also be getting my cards and pockets samples soon, but I have made the RSVP and insert card templates, so I'll be sure to post pics when I print that all out.

Have a great Saturday everyone! :goodvibes

OMG that is so exciting that you get a planning session!!!! And it sounds like you got a great deal! I am so happy for you that you are going to get one.....when I was debating switching to wishes, I remember thinking I would want to go to the PS (although I wouldn't have be able to go) so I am so glad for you!

And yay for 10 months!
