We've opted for sharing 2 suitcases between 4 of us for our trip this week. I shouldn't really be going in October but hey its a bargain:lmao: We'll just need to eat beans on toast for a few months.
Never been to Craig Tara we went to the one in Berwick last year at easter. It was freezing with snow, hail, rain etc. Kids loved it:lmao:

We've always taken hand luggage only when we fly. We have learned to travel light and usually take a small case each (hand luggage size)
We did 4nights in Dublin last June (1p each way with Ryan Air) and managed with hand luggage only,.
We did 2 nights at DLP in November with AirFrance where we could have booked the luggage in free of charge buut chose not to - DD and myself had snow boots in the cases as well on the way there (we stuffed them with socks and underwear to save space) and when we came back we wore the boots but had a birthday cake and largish cuddly toy in there
We also did Paris and DLP for 6 nights at Easter and again close hand luggage only and managed fine

You don't need anything other than your normal travel insurance - I never take the airline's insurance, because I can always find it cheaper elsewhere ;). Early boarding - don't you get priority boarding on easyjet anyway because you're travelling with young children? Check the terms and conditions for that.
We also do hand luggage only on our trips to DLRP, makes it so much easier and quicker when you land at CDG :goodvibes - quick trip to the toilets then straight off to the VEA/train/shuttle.

Im not sure about straighteners as i didn take mine but Im sure you can.
You can take toiletries but they have to be less than 100ml and in a clear plastic bag and shown seperatly at security. Any liquids/gels etc need to be like this including soap/
make up/perfume/medicines etc
As I say its really easy to travel light when you need to

Theres no problem taking electrical items like hairdryers/straighteners etc in your hand luggage.
For liquids (thats any liquids at all, including toothpaste, deodorants, shampoo, conditioner, any make-up item etc) you are limited to bottles/tubes of less than 100ml each, and a total of 1000mls per person taking hand luggage.
Remember if you're taking hand luggage only, you'll need to remember not to bring back any snowglobes, or anything sharp (ie pins etc) in your souvenirs. And helium balloons have to be completely deflated and packed away before you'll be allowed on the plane with them too.
As there are 4 of you Katrina, you'd be just as cheap booking a private transfer from CDG to your hotel, as getting the VEA. You could get the TGV train on your return journey back to CDG, thats really easy, and very quick (it really is only 10 minutes :goodvibes). Its also about the same price as the VEA, if you're not travelling at peak time (you can check the prices etc out on the Rail Europe site).

Id wondered about pins last time but decided not to risk it and left them at home. I know they are sharp but are they any sharper than ear rings?
