Has anyone held their DP in Japan? In photos of the pagoda there appears to be lots of trees + an over-hanging roof. Do these restrict viewing the fireworks? Does anyone have any photos from a DP held there?

You know, the only ones I've ever heard of were held by a non-wedding groups. The view from there does seem to be really obscured, but in this thread I found the person says the view is great:

Is there a reason you prefer Japan to UK Pubside (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2213945)?

Hi Carrie

Thanks for that link - I've previously tried searching for 'Japan' and found nothing :headache:

As we'll be a very small party of 6 for the wedding we thought Japan is worth considering as it caters for 10 people. The UK DP areas are options too, but we thought it would be rather nice to be in a different spot as we're travelling from the UK, have dined at the Rose & Crown a few times(!!) and would love to do something 'not British'

We've been to WDW 4 times, and watched the drummers on many occasions, but that's through the day time. I never expected my DD to opt for a Disney Wedding (Michelle2010 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2196473) :yay:, so have not previously thought to check the view for Illuminations. In fact, I didn't even know about DPs until 6 months ago when we started doing research for the wedding!

Thank you sooo much I haven't been able to find pictures anywhere! How is the view of the fireworks it seems like it is very good from the pictures.

I haven't been able to watch from here yet, but my concern has always been how far back from the lake the viewing area is, and whether the big red gate and the trees block any of the view. Personally, I prefer to be right on the water (like at UK Lochside) or as close to it as possible, but maybe being high up and set back at the Japan pavilion has its advantages.

Your the best! What would be the most affordable epcot dessert party site for 10 people with the best view? Catered events said that canada overlook east and west are available for a 125 venue fee would this be a better option over Japan? I don't think we will make the f&b minimum for Morocco. Sorry for the lengthy reply I am so stressed about which location will be best I know I can count on everyone to help me out.

No worries - I am the Queen of Lengthy Replies! :teeth: I would ask about what's called UK Pubside, adjacent to the Rose & Crown. It has a 10-person capacity and what I consider to be one of the best views of IllumiNations from anywhere in the park. Here's info and pictures from when we used it for our anniversary: http://disneytravelbabble.com/disney-weddings/our-wedding/anniversary-party/

I'm not crazy about the Canada Overlook because it has trees that block the view of the higher fireworks:

Is there a place that would be good for just 4 people? Do I have to pay for 10 people no matter? Does anyone know the rental pricing for the UK Pub side? I would love to surprise my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary with this but there will only be 4 of us! Advice appreciated!

I think UK Pubside would be your best bet—it has the best view of all the small venues. Complete details on pricing, food and beverage minimums, etc. can be found here: http://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/private-party/epcot-dessert-party/

Great idea!:thumbsup2

This is PERFECT! Although we would have dinner at Les Chefs de France! But this is EXACTLY what I would love to do! So it would be feasible to do it for around $400 because we are on the dining plan for dinner! I would probably do a cake as well but nothing as extravagant as yours! Just simple! :goodvibes Thank you SO much!

We are doing the Wishes Fireworks cruise and so I didn't want to do the cruise for Illuminations so this fits perfect! Do you know if they do anything like this for Fantasmic? I can't think of a space they would host it except where the standing room is. :confused3

Yes, they do offer Fantasmic! dessert parties, but they cost more than twice as much and have a greater chance of being cancelled. Complete details, photos and pricing are available HERE (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=32184060&postcount=6).

Awesome! You rock! I think that will be too much for me then if its twice as much. I am thinking Illuminations would be better! Thank you so much! :thumbsup2
