that's a great way to display them! I end up just sticking mine into the cork board around the edges. Some I use as pushpins. Jake still has his hanging on the lanyard in his room. He'll love getting a surprise package since I've been making him stay indoors a lot until his hard cast is on. (tomorrow..yay! :banana:)

I have two shadow boxes of some of my favorite transportation pin. (Plexiglass covered, so I still get a glare it taking it straight into the frame.)

I also collect Mary Poppins. A few years ago there were three pins released in DL I was dying to get. A CA friend not only got my one each of the pins, but also the matching lithographs! :cloud9: I have the lithos in the glass front frames. And I attached the corresponding pin on the outside with some of that green sticky stuff florists use in arrangements. Very pleased with them. :cool1: (I love Katrina Van Tassel too. :woohoo: )

One project I have is to make a AC/CW memorabilia shadow box. I was lucky enough on the second to the last night to be given two of the letters. :cloud9: (Will cherish them forever. Didn't make me feel so bad for not getting into the library for the Halloween show.)

And Nancy -- are you interested in any matching plastic beverage cups? Already have them? (Of the cruise. Although I think I have an extra Kungaloosh too...)

I did get 2 of those jumbo pins for the cruise....they do a drawing for pins. I figured get all I can get....got that one. BFF bought it from me for cost ......probably could get so much more!! ;)

During the last 4 - 6 weeks of PI, AC had plastic beverage cups that could only be purchased with an alcoholic beverage. And when they ran out, they ran out. They cycled through designs. There is one design I am missing. I kept hoping to trade my extra Kungaloosh for what I am missing. Not that I am doing anything with them anyway. :rolleyes: Or even recall for sure which design I am missing... :upsidedow
The AC cups are the same size and style of the cruise beverage cups.
DH drank Kungalooshes for me to get those cups. :laughing: They wouldn't let me just buy them, or even pay extra above the usual watered down Coke. :confused3

I don't think we have the cruise cups....so if you want to part with them, we would be glad to take them. I think we just got the mugs.
I think the only AC cup we have is the mug of yakoose.

I am loving seeing all the different displays of pins. Between all 5 of us we have 9 lanyards. Wyatt (ds13) has 4 of his own!!

So we have been talking about what we wanted to do with them all to display them better.

I had been thinking of the corkboard. And someone in that parks had suggested the vests, but I didn't know if I would like that as well though.

I like the looks of the different displays, so now it gives me a jumping off point.

Now.... how big of a board... hmm!! :rolleyes1

Alisa don't go to big, I have a big cork board and it snapped the wire it was hanging from (yes the pins survived, lol). John told me to get smaller ones to put the pins on and then I can rehang them.

DH is a woodworking for fun, when we move, I will have to get him to set us something great for my pins. I would love to see them everyday.
He did great things for my beanies here.....not sure what I am doing with them at the new house either :rolleyes:

Heidi, with the weight of the pins, I would actually mount the corkbooard the the wall with fasteners meant for heavy items.

Michelle.....love Grand Californian!! It is our favorite resort anywhere! That is the reason we bought into DVC, just so we would be sure to be able to buy into that one when it became available ::yes::

Nope, they don't have glass. The big one with the greenish frame is one I found at TJ Maxx for $15. I was so excited over it. The smaller one is one I just bought at Wal-Mart for $10. You can't beat $10 for a great way to display pins. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to send my packages on Saturday! I've had them packaged up since Friday night but I'm not going to be able to make it to the post office until the weekend. I use my pin pics account quite a bit at the moment. It all worked fine for me on Saturday morning, but my Saturday afternoon I was having problems. Not sure why, maybe I'll try logging out and then in again and see what happens. Or see how they respond to the email I sent them.

What recipe do you use. I have a couple good ones......but do like the one on the Quaker box. I like to leave the raisins out ;), but add chocolate chips or dried cranberries (which I seem to remember you don't like :teeth: ).

I buy most of my pins just to keep!! I think I have made maybe 15 trades on pinpics in my 3 years of doing it so not too many. :rotfl: I have the hardest time letting go of things.

I have certain pins though that I still hold out hope to own one day...

Nancy, the Sleeping Beauty pins have really become my faves b/c of the fairies and such. They are just so colorful and that is a big think for me... I love a lot of colors in pins. It is one of my fave movies so I love seeing the actual scenes from it. :love:

Alisa don't go to big, I have a big cork board and it snapped the wire it was hanging from (yes the pins survived, lol). John told me to get smaller ones to put the pins on and then I can rehang them.

Wyatt & I were discussing last night that we needed to start collecting one of the larger collections. We were thinking the alphabet set (the round set). So we were looking on pinpics and started finding all kinds of Large sets. Now we are confused about what set we want to focus on. I have made some trades one there. And it is a fairly close knit group. So many get the feeling of being able to trust them, rather than whatever name comes up on Pinpics TA.
Occasionally they use to have threads where someone would post what pin(s) they need, and what they have which might help someone finish a set.
There were times I traded pins that were not in my trader pins. But they were not "must haves" for me either. So I just traded them to someone who would appreciate them more than I.
I have not been on DIzpins much for a year or more though.

I need to buy a good photo shop program. Just one where I can easily resize and fix up photos and scans.

The story behind this was on one of our WDW trips, everything was perfect. We even stayed at All Star Movies and were in the Toy Story section. :banana:
By luck I was pin trading with a CM on Main St shortly after park opening. We were invited to be Grand Marshals for that day's parade! :woohoo: OMG! :yay:

That was when Scoop Sanderson gave pin chats also. Scoop ended up being in the front seat of the car. AND he awarded me a Scoop pin! :dancer:

It was SUCH a perfect trip, when we returned home I wrote a glowing letter to Lee Cockerell. (Now retired.)
He then mailed me a pin! The magic just kept coming. :wizard:

So I framed a park guide from that day, the parade pins from the parade we were in, Scoop's pin and the pin from Lee.

Whatta day. I wrote in my letter I was expecting Mickey himself to knock at my door and tuck me in that night, it was such a great day! :laughing:

I think we stayed there 7 times....and have tried a few others. Kept going back to Riverside ...but we do love OKW. That is the main reason we decided to buy there, it has the same kind of feeling as Riverside.....and the boat to DtD ;)

Hello! Wanted to stop in to say that I'm HOPING to have all of our exchanges out tomorrow in the mail. We had to order a couple and it has taken FOREVER to get them. According to my shipping conf. they should be here tomorrow. Once it gets here I will get them packaged up and run them off to the P.O. If the package doesn't deliver tomorrow then unfortunately it will be Tues. We are leaving tomorrow night for the weekend and won't be back until Monday late. I had this all planned out to be able to have them shipped before we left but I didn't expect it to take so long to get pins from FL to MO... hmmmmm!

There are so many Mickey ones, they can be hard.
Maybe adding the date will help (on the back).

I think it is new. I think I read that those were added to help stop the counterfeiting...but not sure.

I do use the list to help narrow it down and also use the keyword with it.
I have found all but about 10 of mine....that is over 500 of them.

I assume they are exclusive. My Disney store hasn't had any pins in quite a while :(
