...is that 'Food Rocks'??
Before Food Rocks
Couldn't help myself, had to go look it up :rotfl:
Introduction
"Meal Time Blues" by Bonnie Appetite
Bonnie sings this at the start of the show. She looks a bit tired. She has cookbooks and her hair wrapped in a bun. The lights turn off, and the next performance comes.
Act 1
"Chase Those (Meal Time) Blues Away" by Bonnie Appetite and the Kitchen Krackpots
The Kitchen Krackpots band (containers of ketchup, mayonnaise, a spinning jar of mustard, etc.) play a boisterous ragtime intro, as Bonnie reappears, now in a showgirl or cocktail waitress costume, to "Thank you all for coming to (her) kitchen." The Kitchen Krackpots come out of the floor and reappear in the ending of the show. These animatronics were the first food products to come. The only animatronic that did not blink eyes, move mouth or other stuff was the mustard jar.
Act 2
"The Stars of the Milky Way" by Dairy Goods and his Stars of the Milky Way
Mr. Dairy Good is a singing milk carton who emerges from a refrigerator holding an old fashioned radio-style floor microphone close to his mouth, crooning introductions to three dairy products—Miss Cheese, Miss Yogurt, and Miss Ice Cream -- in the style of 1930s costume extravaganzas. Each of the dairy products performs a brief cameo in a stylized manner (e.g., Miss Cheese sings like Mae West). Every time they come out, ice cold fog pours out of the freezer. The Cheese, Yogurt and Ice Cream all look like children from "it's a small world".
Act 3
"Boogie Woogie Bakery Boy" by The Cereal Sisters
The Cereal Sisters—Oats, Rice, and Corn—sing a parody of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy in the style of the Andrews Sisters, accompanied by a bugle-blowing bread slice. The bread slice wears glasses and is revealed when a kitchen cabinet is opened. They come back in the Kabaret Finale.
Act 4
"Meat Ditties" by Hamm & Eggz
Hamm & Eggz is a vaudeville-style comic rendition of The Meat Group Can Help You Keep Strong, in which Mr. Hamm and Mr. Eggz tell jokes and sing a few short ditties. At the end, Mr. Hamm gets angry because Mr. Eggz is telling corny jokes, and decides to split from the group to join another protein group.
* Mr. Hamm: "There's plenty of good protein acts for me to work with!"
* Mr. Eggz: "Oh yeah? Like who?"
* Mr. Hamm: "Cheese, cheese is a great source of protein!"
* Mr. Eggz: "Oh, I cheddar to think about it."
* Mr. Hamm: "Beans, now there's good..."
* Mr. Eggz: "Beans! Oh nuts to you, hammy!"
* Mr. Hamm: "That's right, nuts to me! Another excellent source of protein".
There are also running gags in this part of the show. Mr. Eggz's bow moves if he's laughing, and at the end of their parts, smoke bellows around them protecting these two from being seen moving into the ground. Mr. Eggz looks like an M&M.
Act 5
"Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit" by Colander Combo and the Fiesta Fruit
Night sounds, Latin percussion, and low lighting set the mood for this number, as the produce (broccoli, tomatoes, bananas, etc.) begin to chant "Veggie-Veggie-Fruit-Fruit! Veggie-Fruit-Fruit!" Bonnie Appetite, now in a Carmen Miranda-style carnival outfit, and perched upon a crescent moon that descends from the ceiling, sings "I simply have to tell you that my friends who are singing are...delectable!" Here, another running gag is present. A broccoli piece says " cha cha cha!" at times while his glasses flip off , but the glasses resume.
Finale
"Kabaret Finale" by Bonnie Appetite and cast
Bonnie Appetite and the cast sing a medley of each of their songs. All of the cast come back out, and Bonnie says good bye, before the curtains with the Kraft logo cover the stage.

[QUOTE=Meriweather;32768325]Okay.......2 arrived for me today :yay: But not one from Donna :(
Okay, I'm officially disgusted with the post office!! I just cannot believe you didn't get my package yet. I mailed it using the automated postal machine. It didn't give me the option of DC either so I can't even track it. :sad2: My other recipient hasn't received hers yet either. I don't know what's up with that. Maybe Monday but it definitely should not be taking this long.

...I'm confused - :confused3 isn't THAT 'Food Rocks'??
Food Rocks was an attraction at Epcot's The Land pavilion presented by Nestlé in the Walt Disney World Resort. It was a musical stage show, with audio-animatronic figures.
It replaced the older Kitchen Kabaret presented by Kraft when Nestle took over sponsorship in March 26, 1994 and was replaced by Soarin', an Epcot version of the Disney's California Adventure Park attraction in 2005.
The show was themed as a benefit concert for good nutrition hosted by Fud Wrapper. However, the show was continually interrupted by the Excess, a junk food heavy metal band that detests nutrition. In the end, Excess lost their power as Fud Wrapper exclaimed. "No power, you guys have been unplugged. There's plenty of foods out there that are good to eat, but remember, always eat with moderation".
The Audio-Animatronic characters were food items with human features. The music was based on popular songs by well-known performers, with lyrics adapted to the topic of nutrition. For example, "The Peach Boys", singing "Good Nutrition", was based on The Beach Boys' song "Good Vibrations". Five of these acts used the voices of the parodied musicians themselves: Tone Loc, Neil Sedaka, Little Richard, The Pointer Sisters, and Chubby Checker. Many of the characters returned for the finale.

Our automated gives an option of Del Conf. However I did use it quite a bit before I noticed that feature.
One thing the automated centers will not do is international.
So far I have not had any issues with automated.
That being said occasionally I have had issues with the service, even with Del Conf.
Hopefully they will eventually turn up. They usually do. But I know how frustrating the wait is (for the sender). :headache:

When I've used a flat rate box in the past it has asked if I want delivery confirmation but with this small package (and I didn't think about this until later) it didn't ask me if I wanted DC. At least I didn't notice that as one of the questions/choices. Hopefully the new week will see two packages delivered to the recipients. :goodvibes
Luv2Roam
07-18-2009, 08:23 PM
Maybe that is the case. I recall when first using it specifically looking for Del Conf and did not see it.
I can't recall if I used Del Conf w/o a Priority box.
I really don't use DC anything like I use to. Really just for my own curiosity and comfort.
Dc only "proves" (and I use the term lightly) the parcel was delivered. It doesn't prove by or to whom.
It had saved some grief on a few pin trades when the recipient claimed not to have rec'd a packet from me until I gave the delivery date and time. Then they miraculously found the packet. :rolleyes1
However say if you sent to me using DC, and I said I did not receive it, I would have to speak to my postmaster. Who in term would basically shrug their shoulders. (From my experience.)
If the package is not insured, or sent registered, there really is not much that can be done.
So with that I think DC is pretty much a waste of $. Although it did help a few times. But considering all the mailings I have done, and paid for DC, a few times really was not worth the $.

Cherry-pops, the UK pins are exclusive to Disney stores Europe, so they are sold in the UK and France I believe. Thanks! :lovestruc
If anyone in the UK can get, or has an extra, Pin 70551: Disney Store Europe - Villains Spinner - Ursula/Vanessa, LMK and maybe we can work up a trade. :wizard: I don't know when I'm going shopping in the city next, but I'm sure our store had this pin and others from the Villains Spinner set. Next time I'm shopping I could get it for you, if you'd like?

Nancy whilst (:rolleyes1) going through your wants, I noticed the balloon with Tink and remember when I bought my set and got the surprise pin that I really wanted (Kermit!)
We had gone to DD and I was looking at a spin rack and noticed the package of balloon pins, picked one up and looked at the back and noticed that there was 1 of 3 different surprise pins that you might get. I really wanted Kermit and of course not sure who I would get I put the package back and we continued shopping.
Two days later we went back, I took a pack to show John and he told me to buy them, I said well wait I don't want this pack. I went and took the second pack hanging and put the first one back, and when I opened the surprise pin there was Kermit.

This post is pin related, but not exchange related.
I bought the following two pins from Ebay:
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1282/pin56879.jpg http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/7835/pin62634.jpg
The seller sent them loose in a jiffy envelope and I could hear the metal rattling around - shameful!
I think they're fake, or scrappers. They're thin, light and sound tinny. The paint is a matt finish and even the Official Pin Trading logo on the back looks different to all my other pins.
What should I do?
I love the Stitch pin, but the Tink one I bought as a trader for when I go away so I'd like a refund on it - I don't want to trade a scrapper! Unfortunately the seller doesn't accept refunds for these items, although I've not contacted her about them yet.
Could I ask for a refund on the Tink one and keep the Stitch one? I paid £5.60 for the Tink pin.
Any advice? Thank you!

It's listed on Pinpics as Pin # 56879 Pin 56879
"This Open Edition Pin is part of the Mickey's Mystery Pin Machine Pirate Collection and features Tinker Bell. This pin will not be sold separately and will be randomly distributed via Mickey's Mystery Pin Machine. Mickey's Mystery Pin Machine makes its debut on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at MouseGear located at Epcot®. Machines will be available in other parks as well. This pin can also be purchased for $1 with every $30 spent at some locations.
This round pin shows Tinker Bell wearing a black pirate captain's hat with a skull-and-crossbones on the front, and a red bandana underneath. She has her hands under her chin. The border is a brown rope, and the background is blue. There is a cut-out on the upper right where the other pins in the Pirate Collection fit. Tink is from "Peter Pan."
This gold-finished, textured-back pin has a diameter of 1 3/16". It is backstamped with the 2007 pin trading logo and, "(C)DISNEY-CHINA"."

Cheryl...not sure. I think it is just a chance we take when we order from ebay.
I figure if I like them, I keep them, if not
Some you can't tell the difference. I think a lot of sellers are selling more and more of them. You need to find a seller you like and just stick with that person.

We all get them.....we just have to be more careful about the ebay sellers we deal with.
There is a thread on the collections board about good....and bad sellers.
Unfortuneatly my last order is from someone on the bad list :( I should be getting them next week, so we'll see how many bad ones I get.
You can always tell them about it and see if they are willing to do a refund. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Nancy, hopefully your pins will be fine.
I deal with a person that Donna (DJT) told me about, and honestly unless complete crap I don't think I would know the difference between a good and bad pin. The only trading I do is the exchanges.

I rec'd my LBE from cherry-pops.
Thanks so much.
First, is:
Pin 63593: Trick or Treat 2008 - Mickey Mouse
That is an esp good pin as
1) Halloween is my favorite holiday
2) I collect characters dressed as other characters, and to me it looks as if he is wearing a Jack Skellington outfit. (Kinda of a hidden Jack all the way around as Jack's face is in the moon. Mickey's ears are Jack's eyes and there is a stitched mouth for Jack too. Very cool. OT: Did you know the WDW HM has several hidden Jack's? Little bit of trivia there.)
3) DH collects Jack pins too.
double :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Also rec'd Pin 48644: WDW - Pin Trading Logo Collection (Magic Kingdom) Promotion. Another very cool pin. I have it. But I like it, and it will be a good park trader. (Never can have too many traders.)
