I debated posting this, for fear if I do, our (ok, well, my) plans for our next WDW trip may not pan out. BUT Dh gave me the go ahead to book (silly, silly dh, doesn't know that prices for 2010 have not be released yet) last weekend when we got into a fight. Heck, if I knew that was all it would take, we'd fight all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said, I had my doubts about posting this, but my friends are all SICK, of hearing about my plans for WDW...they are not Disney lovers like we are (then again, maybe I am the sick one, afterall, this is more of an obsession than a want to go on vacation). So a trip report I will start!!!!!!! In a way it will be like 3 in one...that is I leave in 19 days for OBX, come home for a week then leave for VEGAS!! Finally when I get back the REAL WDW planning will start!

DH didn't want to go back to WDW again (we had been in '06 and '08), but the past few months have been hard for me. My 13yo neice had been living with us for 3 years, well she decided to move back in with her mom once school was over. I fear this is not the best decision for her, but it was not mine to make.

Our last 2 trips (DH and the boys' only trips) were 1st with my family in Sept 2006 and then with his parents in 08. In '06 we (my dad, his wife, their then 6mo old twins, me, DH, our boys then 1.5 and 2.5, my best friend, my DN and my brother) drove from PA in a 15 pass van. We had a nice time, crazy, but nice! Dh had NO desire to ever go see "some overgrown, over priced RAT" before my dad offered to pay for our trip with money he got from my grandmothers estate. He got there and called his mom, telling her how cool everything was. She seemed interested in going, as they had never been before.
So Oct 2008 we went with his parents. This time we rented a 12 pass van and drove from PA with me, DH, DN who was 13, DS then age 3, DS then age 4, MIL and FIL. I had magical plans for this trip. Sadly my MIL was happy to stay in the resort the ENTIRE time. WE did get her out, but it was only for short periods. It was less than magical (I know they say any day in Disney is better than a day at home, BUT you know how you plan and plan for a year and then 'newbies' don't care for it......way to let the air out of a balloon). I came home REALLY wanting to go back, depressed when DH said we needed a roof on the house and couldn't afford it.

It looked like no trip for Star, but then DN moved out and a trip for 2 adults and 2 children all in 1 room became possible. Not that I am happy at all DN is not with us anymore, but at least there is a silver lining!

I'll start with me...Star (really, it's my name, I have a sister named Panda). I am 29 (I'll be 30 when we go). I am a full time home care nurse, meaning I go into people's homes (like today, when I went into a house with ROACHES....ew). I enjoy my job, most of the time. I have been to WDW several times now, mostly as a teenager.

Here is a pict of us at our wedding...much skinnier than we are now!

Dh, Randy will be 37 when we go on our trip. He is a former DOD firefighter (he was working at Aberdeen Proving Ground) and is now a fire inspector/building inspector. He has been bitten by a small Disney Bug, but nothing like my Disney Bug.

A more recent one of us

Cody will be 6, almost 7 (WHAT??? That CAN'T be right....Sigh, I guess it is) when we go on our trip. He LOVES WallE. In fact when he watches the movie, he mimics everything WallE does. He will be in 1st grade for our trip, but we will be taking him out of school for it.
http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff336/starann98/Disney08028.jpg

Shane will be 5, almost 6, when we go. He loves Star Wars. I just hope he will be tall enough to ride Star Tours in MGM (that's right, I said MGM). Guess we better start pulling his legs now! He will be in K.

Until our vacation to the OBX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I came home from Ct this past weekend to find our PC died! No power or anything. We are hoping it is only the power supply so we don't lose everything! Just my luck!

Like I said we are going to OBX, Avon to be exact. We have very good friends who live there year round. Joe is a retired Camden firefighter and Sue, his wife, worked in a MRI center and currently works at a Vet's office.

These people are the family we have chosen to have. They have a son who is my age, not married and might not ever get married, so they enjoy our kids so much! The boys call them Uncle Joe and Aunt Sue and are SOOO excited to see them at the beach! Joe was diagnosed with stage 4 laryngeal cancer last spring, had chemo and radiation. Then Xmas had to have a trach placed. They are hoping he can get the trach out soon as his breathing has improved. He has a feeding tube since being diagnosed and currently that is the only way he can eat (the radiation destroyed the inside of his mouth, he was getting therapy before the trach was placed which has been on hold since).

We are really excited to spend sometime with them. We have a few activities planned for the boys...the ferry ride, the lighthouse, the aquarium and of course the beach!

off to clean!

My DH......and I don;t mean dear!

He informed me today that our trip next year will NOT be coming out of our tax return :sad2: I then asked him just how were we supposed to pay for our trip? My good looks aren't gonna cut it!:rotfl2: And the trees in the yard have never giving us money, no matter how much we water them!:confused3

So we made an agreement. We put away $100 a month, so $50 a pay, and save what we can, change jar, yard sale, ebay and so on and what ever we don't save he will let me take from the tax return.

My plan is also to ask for Disney Dollars for Xmas for us and the boys. Their B-days are in Dec and Feb, so we often get over run with toys all at one time. Usually family gives TRU gift cards, so it won't be such a switch to ask for DD for our spending money. My mom usually give us a big gift, so I will ask for $ or DD.

We, well I, was looking into 3 different resort options...value mod and delux. All Star, CBR and WL. We have only stayed in ASMo in the past, but DH feels that will be too small for the 4 of us (other years we have had 2 rooms). I hear great things about CBR and I would LOVE to stay in WL.

So what does everyone think..any opinions on those 3 resorts?

We like the ASMo

for the food court (it is pretty yummy for a QS and has more than hambergers and sandwhiches)

The themeing of the rooms

We are familiar with it

It will allow us to stay longer as it will be cheaper

My only drawback from WL (other than price) is I don't hear great things about their QS.

Now DH asked about AKL...he wants to see the animals:rotfl2: I told him he could, but he would pay for that view!!!!

I keep hoping I get a PIN code for a delux resort or we book for free dining OR WDW has a new promo come out for next year! That or we hit the lottery!

I took a day off of work to get 'stuff' done before Vegas on Sat. None of that 'stuff' included writing this, but this is WAY more fun than laundry and cleaning.

We have been to OBX 2 other times, each time staying with friends.... Joe is a retired Camden, NJ battalion chief (Fireman). Sue is his wife. Randy (my dh) met Joe thru a friend and now we have become VERY close with Joe and Sue. Last May Joe was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. Not a good diagnosis at all. He completed his rounds of chemo and radiation. He had a feeding tube place into his belly and this past Jan a trach into his neck, but so far NO CANCER!!!!!! We pray each CT scan that we will continue to get good news. We weren't sure if Joe would be up to a visit this year, so we played it by ear......

About Father's day Sue emailed me to say it was a go!!!!! WE were all so excited. I guess Joe had been moping around the house a bit, annoyed that he didn't have the energy to do the things he once did. Sue thought our visit was just what he needed.

Fri night we packed (I am such a procrastonater when it comes to that), loaded the car and set our alarms for 2am!!!! We were on the road by 3am! With the boys being so little yet we prefer to travel like this so they can sleep....or so we thought! They woke at 5am and didn't nap till after we got to Avon.

I have a SEVERE phobia of bridges. Not lilttle bridges around town, but BIG bridges, so when we go thru VA (Chesapeak Bay Bridge and Tunnle) I have to medicate myself so I sleep and therefore avoid a HUGE anxiety attack. So about 2 hrs into our trip DH wakes me and tell me to pop my magic pill! Off to dream land I go.

We stopped just over the bridge at a DEnny's, eat breakfast and hit the road.

We arrived at Joe and Sue's in Avon around noon.

It was so great to finally see them after almost 2 years! We ate lunch and went to take a nap! WE were all exausted...even me who slept most of the car ride!

After our nap, it was beach time!!!!!!

I am back from Vegas if anyone is reading. I hope to do a lil TR about that trip as well.........if only I could find the time!!!!!!! Life and Work has been hectic, the kids have been sick, so my 'extra' DIS time is at a minimum.

To all my loyal readers:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: I will be posting some more of my OBX TR as well as Vegas...then I will move onto PTR stuff for our trip in just over a year!!!!! I had a friend leave today for WDW and another in 1 month, but I am vacationed out at the moment and while I'm happy for them, I'm excited to plan for our trip!!!

:thumbsup2 I am so glad to see someone else starting trippies so far out other than myself. We'll be going 10/2010 also and once my current trip report is finished then the pre-trippie begins. My last one started at 563 days so technically I am behind. :rotfl2:

On the phone right now with WDW getting prices!

WOW do prices look high without FREE dining or any PINS!!!! I did ask if any Pins were associated with my name and he told me no, not for 2010 (which might mean there are for 2009, but we are NOT going this year :-( ) But did tell me that there might be, I could check back as it gets closer.

For these dates of Travel Sept 25-Oct 4

DH wants 2 rooms at All Star Movies if we stay there, so he priced 2 rooms with Parkhoppers, water parks, dining, insurance at $4702.
The CM then suggested a Family suite. In the past when I had priced it out, it was more than 2 rooms (at least I thought it was?) was. He quoted me $4658, so it is actually less to have a fridge and microwave and 2 bathrooms!!!!

I REALLY want to stay at Ft Wilderness Lodge which he quoted me 5137.00 for a standard view and the above packages. Not much more than 2 rooms at ASMo.

He also wants to fly this trip (in the past we have driven from PA) which will add another expense. I better get saving either way!!!! He was telling me last night that the house needs a roof, I need a new car......I don't care what happens he promised me this trip after the cruddy year I have had and our last trip being less than magical. I will be saving for this trip, so I guess in the end I get to decide where we stay!

Well I'll have to take a gander at your TR then PTR.....

I started this TR once DH said we could go back...I was so excited but knew it was soooooooooooooooo far off. I HAD to do something to keep me from going crazy, so I have started a place to talk about my trip (since my friends were getting VERY tired of hearing about it!).

I wish there were a few more hours in the day, even 3, to get alldone that needs to.

This is the reason Joe and Sue are so special to us........

Today in the mail came a note from Sue (we usually converse by email as Sue is VERY hard of hearing, she wears hearing aides so she can hear when spoken to loudly, but does terrible on the phone, Joe has the trach so he is hard ot understand on the phone). She enclosed picts of their new guinea pig, Romeo. They used to have Doodle, but he passed away about a year or so ago. Cody is obsessed with GPs...and I will not get one as it will be another thing I have to take care of. Along with the picts was a check for $50 to get the boys some back to school stuff!!!!! How sweet is she!!!!!!!!

Just had to share that......

NOw a question.......where to stay. I need opinions on the 3 resorts I have previously listed...ASMo Suites (we stayed in preferred rooms and liked them enough), PO Riverside and FWL. I need pros and cons with all 3, well really just the 2 new ones!

The CM suggested that we book the ASMo Suite ASAP as those fill up fast and if a better 'deal' comes along we can change our ressie. I am fine with that, but DH wants that in writing (Mr. I need it in writing about EVERYTHING!). I know it can be done.

I am REALLY hoping for a 40% off code for WL so we can stay there as this will prob be the last trip for awhile. DH didn't want to go back to WDW (:scared1: I know, I know, he just is not as much of a WDW Nut as we all are....so sad for him!!!). He wanted to do something 'new' like the Grand Canyon or something. I think at 5 and 6 the boys are too young to enjoy that this soon. I saw it as I was flying to Vegas (we had a REALLY great pilot who went over it for us) and it was beautiful, but I think the boys are just too young to enjoy it right now. Maybe once they are 8/9/10 and in Boy Scouts? Also my mom is moving to Vegas in 2 and a half years (from NYC) so I figure we can do a trip out to Vegas, drop the kids off to MeMa so DH and I can go to the Strip for a few days, then go out to GC. That's my plan anyway. I would go to WDW EVERY Year if I could, but DH not so much.

Ok enough rambling from me. I've got mini TR to work on!

When I asked for a 40% off code, I should have been more specific...I want a 40% off code for NEXT year.

About an hour ago in my inbox I get a PIN from WDW good for 10/4/09 to 11/24/09 for

Value $69 a night
Mod $99 a night
Mod $169 a night for AKL or WL

REALLY...what a tease! There is no way we can go....I am OUT of vacation time, DH only has a few days left, and we just don't have the $$$ (we pay cash for our trips, nothing gets charged as we have no credit cards, no tempting that way) to go right now.

I can only hope something comes out for our dates next year.

Sigh......I wish I had a rich relative who would gift me the money. Oh well.

About 2 months ago I joined SR. I have about $5 in the account, but tried today for some more. I did some offers, a survey and some shopping (Vera Bradley was having a sale on a bag, along with Free shipping!!! I also ordered photos from our OBX trip to get $4 in credit on something I needed to order anyway. Not the case with VB though!).

I have a change jar which is just about ready to go to the bank for auto sorting (they don't change anything). I have $15 in winning scratch offs, $27 in bills (that were in the change jar) and a check from Fantasia for $40.52. So starts my Disney savings fund! I'll cash in the lotto tickets this week, then go to the bank with all the bills and checks and change.

Our change always goes into the jar, DH's too. My Fantasia checks will go in as well, so I am hoping for a busy few months. So far I have 2 parties booked with another lead I am working on for Sept. My commissions will all go to The WDW Fund. I get mileage checks for work...those sometimes need to pay bills, but one here or there can go in as well. Rebate checks and an other 'found' money will also go in.

Just talking out loud I guess as the more I write it down, the better I will be about actually DOING it!!!

This has not been a good week for me. I have epilepsy and migrane headaches. I mention both things as they both started the same day when I was 16. I had a migrane then a few hours into school I had my 1st seziure. I have not had a seziure in a number of years:banana: I wish I could say the same thing about my headaches. About 2 years ago I was hospitialized for them for 5 days. I get a headache, I get nauseous, I start throwing up my seziure meds and everyone panics (including me!). In the past 2 years I've started passing out when the pain gets bad (from what my dr said, it's my body's defense in response to the pain).

I see a neurologist who I trust 100% and when needed we 'play' around with my meds. I HATE HATE HATE playing with my meds as things tend to get worse before they get better. I have started passing out when my headaches get bad....you can tell where this is going?

Monday...headache.....Tuesday....headache. Wednesday I woke up with a headache, starting getting ready for work, as I HAD to go in (I am out of sick and vacation time). I went downstairs to get the boys socks, came upstairs and woke up on the floor.:scared1: DH tells me our 4yo found me. Not sure how long I was out for, maybe a few minutes? WE call the dr, she tells me to go to the ER as I have nausea, a flare up of IBS (so I can't take the suppositories for the nausea), vomiting (so there goes up my meds), and now the passing out. She always gets concerned when I pass out as I also have a heart condition (I know, I'm a hot mess!) and she wants to make sure I 'just' passed out.

DH took the kids to school and then me to the ER. I work as a nurse in the hospital I went to, and have made numerous trips to the ER (for myself and my family) and HATE our ER. Usually the wait is FOREVER, which only seems longer when you are feeling like crud. I also have problems with the residents in the ER as they NEVER listen to me, have accused me of being a narc seeker (someone who goes to the ER looking for a high from pain meds...my Dr quickly set them in their place on that one!) and usually send me home without making me better, telling me to follow up with my family dr in 2 days.

This trip was TOTALLY different! I didn't have to wait long to get back to be seen, they assigned me a PA who listened to me, actually called my neuro to talk with her, gave me pain meds and nausea meds right away and actually came back to check on me, gave me more meds and then sent me home, felling slightly better then when I arrived!:woohoo: Granted better was still feeling like crap, but I was not throwing up!!!!

SO now DH is on my case to go to Philly or NY to be seen by a specialist. I say I'm going back to the neuro who has seen me for 13 years, knows what we have tried in the past, what works, doesn't work, what I can't tolerate, what I can...you get the idea. On top of my headache, I am dealing with DH bla bla blaing in my ear about a new dr!

I now have new anxiety about passing out in front of the kids again. Shane was fine DH said, he wasn't scared, he really didn't think anything of it. That was this time....DH was home and I wasn't 'out' long. I worry about next time when I am alone with them and I am out longer. Will they get scared if they can't wake me? Will they go outside? Will they get hurt? In the past when I have passed out I was at work, the laywers office or at the hospital (for bloodwork). I was never home...never around the kids. Sigh.

So that has been my week in a nutshell.

In better news, DH and I are going to clean this weekend!!!! With vacation as a family for a week, me being gone for a week and life in general my house is in DESPERATE need of cleaning. During this time we will also be getting stuff together for a yard sale! For Disney Money!!!!!!! So a Clean house and Disney money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love my kids....they are so great! I introduced them to the change jar for Disney tonight. They helped me put a bunch of change into, as I explained that this money will go to the bank once the jar is filled and then we will fill it again. I explained this is why they won't be getting toys every time we go to the store, cause we need to save all of our 'monies' for Disney. They were SO excited to save money!!!!!

Guess we will see how excited once we go to Target and they can't get anything!!!!

I FINALLY got around to taking the money to the bank.....the change jar had around $42!!!:cool1::cool1: Total deposit was $360!!!!

They put my change thru the change machine and there was a warped penny that it wouldn't accept.....so they wouldn't take it!!!! Oh well! Guess I will have to try and use it. Our change jar is empty again:sad2: but that just means we can fill it again! It's so cute to see the boys get so excited about finding a coin and putting it in the jar!

There has been some family drama going on (when isn't there!) and I've been a little down on things, but this trip has really been lifting my spirits. The planning options, reading my passporter, making checklists have been occupied. It's over a year away, but to me, saving the money is a challenge, getting other bills paid down is a challenge and it's so rewarding when I can get somewhere with it all!

My SR account is up to $13!! Wahoo right, but it is $13 more than what I had before (I should have about double that once my shopping rewards go thru).

I go in for surgery next month, so no OT next month for me.....blech. But that mean I just have to work really hard THIS month!

We did EOS on our last trip and really enjoyed it. I'm sure that will be a CS we use when were are at DTD! I will check out Boma. We stayed away from interesting food last trip as my in-laws wouldn't have enjoyed it (actually they enjoyed very little:headache:). We might have to add it to the list this time! Thanks!

1 year!!!!!!!!!

WE have about $700 in the Disney account as of pay day today!!!!!

I spent a good hunk of today cleaning the playroom (I should have done before and after picts....you couldn't see the carpet before I started!) and boxing stuff for our Spring Disney Yardsale!!!!! Of course I ahd to do this while the kids were in school, otherwise all I hear is Mom...I want that, I want that.

Hopefully I can convince the family to give them DD for Xmas and B-days cause they REALLY don;t need anymore toys!

Opps, it's been 2 month since I posted here!!!! I'm not even sure where to start.

The begining of the month we got a new van!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE got a red Kia Sedona. My old van had 200,000 miles on it and would not pass inspection come Dec, so a new van it was. Why does this matter to a WDW trip you wonder? DH had wanted to fly to WDW, but with the van he said we will drive!!!!! I was not thrilled with flying, I like having a car to go to Sea World and other places, plus that allows us to bring what ever we need. So now with a monthly car payment, to save money, we are driving down!!!!!!!

I'd post more, but my mom is on the phone, My Granddaddy isn't doing well:sad1:

Yay for the new van!! I always drive too. I like having the freedom of my own vehicle. (I hate waiting on the busses.) :rolleyes1
We're going to Disney in May for DD graduation and 18th b-day. I got a pin code for 40% off for our resort. :cool1:
Hope granddaddy gets to doing better.

Thanks for the thoughts for my Granddaddy. He is currently on hospice at home and is not doing well. The nurse told his lady friend (and I use the term Lady, loosely) she gives him about a month, tops. It's hard for my mom, being in NY when he is in NC, and it's hard for me as a nurse I know the care he SHOULD be getting, but the care he has gotten is another story (for 2 years he had what the drs diagnosed as a blood clot, turns out it was a tumor and now he has metastatic disease).

Usually when everyone asks what they can get the kids for Xmas, I tell them TRU cards, this year, Disney Gift Cards, this way when we go down, they can get what ever they want and my house isn't overrun with toys this Xmas!!!

DH almost had me convinced to fly, as it would give us 'extra' Disney time, but I much rather drive! We, in the past, have driven thru the night, taking turns while the kids sleep. With the new van, we will not have to rent a car to drive down in, it will have plenty of room and we might even be able to stop in OBX to see some good friends!!!!

Woot, Woot, we got about $300 in GC for our trip for Xmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually another $100 is also coming (from my Nana, who is pictured with the boys, her and Papa live in Margate Fl and might come visit us when we go), so that brings it up to $400!!!

We still haven't booked our trip yet, although now that the holidays are over, I plan to :cool1: Most likely early Feb (once my comission check comes), then we can pay off the balance with our tax return, and I can save plenty for spending.

We had been hoping to stay at FWL or a AS Suite, but money being what it is, I told DH today we might be just doing a room at ASMo. We have stayed there for our past trips and enjoyed it. And as far as I'm concerned as long as we are in Disney I don't don't give a darn where we sleep.

DH did say that if we stay in 1 room, he wants to fly.....blech. I told him we would wait and see airline prices and then decide if we were flying or driving. Sigh, that man can not make up his mind!!!

I was talking with my boss about our trip yesterday, in which she yelled at me for taking the boys out of school for it!!!! Ummmm, hello, these are MY children and I will do with them what I please. Getting vacation in the summer at work is not that hard, if I put it in as my seniority request, BUT DH is a building inspector and they are VERY busy in the summer (not so much this time of year) so vacation is not as easily given in the summer. We prefer going when we go for our own personal reasons, just as those who won't pull their kids out of school go when they go for their own personal reasons. I respect that people are free to decide what is best for THEIR family!!!

Things are getting close (but not close enough ugh).....so DH and I have started talking about meals....mmmmmmmmmmmm Disney food.

So DH's must have picks are China for dinner and Germany.

I am down with China....we ate lunch there last time and we all enjoyed it, so dinner is fine by me.

Germany on the other hand....I could take or leave. DH forgets the kids ate bread, and not 13.99 worth of bread either. So I will try to get him to pick something else, otherwise the kids will have to eat more bread (which if you know my kids, is fine by them!)

Cody picked WCC, infact when I asked him what he wanted to do on our 1st day there, he said ride Buzz Lightyear (the one with Zurge in MK) and eat at the place with Lincoln Logs. Not sure how he feels about the food, but he LOVED those Lincoln Logs! Now that I think of it, he liked the milkshakes as well!

Shane hasn't really said where he wants to go, but he is easy like that.

I want to try new places, like Ohana for dinner (had b'fast there last time), but looking at the menu it's another place I doubt my kids would eat at. Crystal Palace for dinner would be nice and new...any comments on CP? We also enjoyed Italy and Coral Reef so those might be other options.

Any other ideas or suggestions?

We need to book soon, but I have been waiting for a PIN or something...looks like I'll be booking without a PIN and hoping a good deal comes out :confused3

So fill up my PTR with dining suggestions!

Will DH do counter service in Germany? I haven't done CP for dinner only breakfast, but I do like the atmosphere. With it being a standard buffet I would think that your kids could find something to eat. What about 1900 Park Fare? That might be fun. Oh what about Teppan Edo, they might get a kick out of watching the chef.

Thanks for the suggestions ATTM! I just saw your sig line and saw you are only 3 months from your trip!!!! I am so envious!

I've decided we will try Kona for dinner (the cocconut almond chicken sounds yummo!). I looked at the menu, as did DH and he approved, although he did balk at sushi....neither of us eat sushi!

My Nana and Papa live in Margate, FL. I talked with hubby to see if he would be ok with them coming for a day if they wanted to, he said ok!!! :cool1: I have to email my Nana and see if they will be up to driving and coming for the day or even just lunch (although it is a lil long for jsut lunch!). I hope they will be able to make it, but my cousin is getting married a few weeks before in upstate NY, so I'm not sure if they will have traveled hoem yet (they are both retired and travel all the time, and often are gone for weeks on end).

Off to email my Nana while I think of it!

Let me tell you these three months are taking their sweet time in passing. :lmao:
I don't like sushi either and had a really good meal at Kona's. DH on the other hand, not so much. :sad2: He ordered the pork chops and they were served rare. I heard of another person ordering pork and it was served the same way, so my only suggestion is if you order pork ask for it to be well done. :thumbsup2
That would be so great if your nana and papa could visit for the day. I love sharing Disney with family. :grouphug:

It would be nice to see them and have these memories with them (as they are getting older and the only great-grandparents my kids have other than my Granddaddy, but he is in hospice care and not doing well)......BUT my Nana is not a people person....at all! She loves me and the boys (them esp, she can't get over what happy go lucky, loving kids they are), but other people not so much! Did I mention she is NOT a people person!!!! I emailed her and left it up to her and Papa so we shall see.

In the meantime I have looked at menus and have decided on more dining place!!! However, looking at menu's this far in advance is a REAL tease!

So in no certain order....

Epcot
Tutto (Italy).......dinner
Coral Reef....dinner
Germany...dinner (it might get cut, up for debate!)
China....dinner

MK
Crystal Palace....dinner or lunch
LTT...lunch

AK
Yak and Yeti...dinner (gotta pass this one thru DH)

Resorts
Kona...dinner (those wings sound yummy too!)
WCC...dinner
CM...b'fast or dinner, or both!

We are only there 9 nights, so as of right now we are over 1 place, which may be dropped or paid for OOP.

Looking at the list I also see a LOT of Epcot places. Epcot is once place we all LOVE and we would probably go a few days, but I'm not sure if we will go that many, so park hopping and a later dinner might have to be arranged. Then again, DH may look at my list and veto any options.

With the DDP we tend to do dinner to make it 'worth it' but some placed have the same things for lunch.

So basically I have narrowed down my choices, but they can change when DH changes his mind (which often happens....book it now, wait, book it now, wait.....this place to eat, nah we can skip it, it's a MUST do)

Epcot
Tutto (Italy).......dinnerI haven't eaten here but DD15 and DNiece did last year and LOVED it.
Coral Reef....dinner YUM!!!
Germany...dinner (it might get cut, up for debate!) This was ok. I liked the entertainment more than the food.
China....dinner The food was ok here also, the drink was :thumbsup2

MK
Crystal Palace....dinner or lunch I've omly had breakfast here. :sad2:
LTT...lunch Mom and I both realy enjoyed the atmosphere here, bu tit was a loooong wait to get seated.

AK
Yak and Yeti...dinner (gotta pass this one thru DH)We got CS from here and it was a little spicy.

Resorts
Kona...dinner (those wings sound yummy too!)UMMM.....they are!!!
WCC...dinnerSooo much fun, especially for kids.
CM...b'fast or dinner, or both!We did dinner and the food was fair but the character interaction was great.

Ok, like I said we are now booked!!! It's actually official!!!!

Cehck in Sept 25th, check out Oct 4, 9day waterpark/park hopper tickets, preferred room at ASMo with MYW Dining!!!!!!!!!!!

I checked, no current PINS attached to my name, but she told me to call back if I get one. So as of now everything is set....unless I get a PIN!!!! Or Free Dining is announced.

She told me I could book my ADR March 29th, but I will double check that jsut to be sure, although I may have to book some, then see the EMH once they are posted and make revisions if needed.

Do you try to plan restuants at parks that have EMH that day or parks that don't? Some tour guides say to stay away from parks with EMH, but if we are taking time out to eat, it might make more sense to go on an EMH day...

I also have to see what day my Nana and Papa are coming, so I can make reservations for all of us that day.

Off now to get more 'real life stuff' done.....:sad2:

But so  excited  we are now ofically booked!

I don't check on extra magic hour days. I just book what I feel like on certain days. First day is always MK and we do Spirit of Aloha on the Wednesday that we're there otherwise it's what I feel like at the time. :rolleyes1
I hope you get a pin, my first pin went to my spam folder in my e-mail so don't forget to check that.

I have been planning and plodding our ADRs, looking at crowd sheets, park hours and so on, only to have DH throw a wrench into my plans when he announced last night (the night before my 180day mark) that he wanted to do 1 park per day! WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Since when? Since he doesn;t want to have to waste time traveling back and forth between parks. Ok, so I start to change everything, then he tells me, well, we will be going back to the resort for naps for the kids (and him).............so what is the difference if we do 2 parks in 1 day? UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went ahead and made ADRs, for the times I think are best (again, he says now, it doesn't matter, although I'm almost willing to bet that come time for our trip, he will be asking my why the ADRs are at the time they are at!).

Sat the 25th, WCC at 6:30
Sun the 26th, 9 Dragons at 7
Mon the 27th, CP for 8 people (as my nana, Papa, mom and stepfather will join us) at 5:55
Tues the 28, Coral Reef at 7pm
Wed the 29th, LTT for lunch at 1:30
Thurs the 30th, b'fast at CM at 8:10am
Fri the 1st, Kona at 7:55 for dinner
Sat the 2nd, CMC at 6:30
Sun the 3rd, CM or dinner at 6:30
and a just in case for Mon, Ohana at 8:20 (may have to cancel depending on our flights)

SO Excited!

Must go now, DH is yelling at the kids!

Added T-Rex onto our trip for the waterpark day. I think we are going to CM for bfast, then to one of the water parks (hubbys request...I could take it or leave it). Since they close at 5, and I know we won;t be there all day, I scheduled dinner for 5 or 6 at TRex as we will be going to DTD that night!

I have heard mixed reviews on this place, but I think the boys will like it.

I owe a HUGE life update, maybe this weekend I will get a free moment. Lots has gone on!

The past few months have gone so quickly.

The End of Feb was Shane's 5th Birthday. I don't know where the last 5 years have gone, my baby is now a big boy (complete with big boy attitude and tantrums:sad2:).

The early part of March was my 30th B-day!!!!!!!!!!!! I managed to go to dinner twice in 1 week with different groups of friends. DH planned a 'surprise' night away which only got canceled when Granddaddy passed away :sad1: I drove to NC with my mom and stepdad while DH took care of the kids at home. It was a long week but I was happy I went. My uncle who lives down there is also not doing well, he has had lung cancer with brain mets for several years now and has recently suffered several small strokes. Of course the trip wasn't without family drama, but what funeral isn't!

DH finally got to take me away for my b-day to a B&B. It was very nice, but there wasn't much sleeping involved....now get your head out of the gutter, the bed was VERY not comfortable!

Then we had a bowling party for Shane's b-day with the kids in his pre-K class. We all had so much fun, in fact I think we might go back with friends of ours as it was a really nice time!

The Easter Bunny left us this...........

http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff336/starann98/shanebday076.jpg

His name is Dr. Henry Indiana Jones Jr....or Indy for short!

I have now booked EVERYTHING I wanted for our trip.....I even booked O'hana for dinner at 8:55pm on a Wishes night......hopefully DH will approve the food (although I'm sure he will).

I have been trolling my email and his looking for a PIN code. I think I might actaully go crazy until we get one. Orginally, when we were thinking of going back I told DH we could do it for $1,500 give or take. However, that must have been a really good deal cause this trip is costing us double that! And we are staying at a value! We are fine with a value, have stayed in a value on our previous trips, but I would LOVE a Free Dining option OR a 40% off a deluxe although the % off I would have to have the numbers ran to see if it is worth it.

DH looked into flights, but got advice to wait until about 3 to 4 months before the trip to book, which may leave us driving (which is A OK with me!).

Today the boys and I are off to Target and then to see How to Train Your Dragon!!!! A treat for some recent good behavior (after a long period of behavior issues).

This trip can't get here fast enough, although the faster it gets here, the faster it will all be over and DH has already warned "This is it for a long time, I mean it" Then again he said that after our last trip!!!!!

Well, seeing how long it took for me to read your pre-trip, now your trip isn't that far away! :rotfl2:

We love Crystal Palace. We go at least once every trip. Sometimes 2 or 3 times. We skipped Coral Reef last year, but we are going back this year. And we love sushi, so we're going to Tokyo Dining and Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. :)

I don't know if I wish we lived close enough to drive. I am not a big "driver". Being on the plane for 2.5 hours is more than enough travel time, so unless we lived in north FL I don't think the driving thing would work for me.

starann
04-17-2010, 03:16 PM
So everythign is just about in place for our trip.....hotel is booked, ADRs made. We still haven't booked airfare...waiting on prices and our tax return to get here for that, but you know I am really hoping to drive, so we will see.

I have loaded multiple Apps onto my new i-phone (:cool1:) including Mouse Memo, which I now have saved all my ADR info in (as well as the calendar). I have pretty much picked out what park/what day.

So now what? I look at the food porn and my mouth starts watering. I see food at places I might want to try.....so do I keep tweaking my ADRs or leave them alone? Oh the decisions!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been picking up some stuff here and there on my shopping trips (shhhh, don't tell my husband). I scored some glow necklaces at Target's Dollar Spot! In the Dollar Tree I got the boys 2 swords each...they have a giant glo stick in them. Last trip I found some and we brought them down, we used them at Epcot one night, even gave one away to a little boy next to us. His dad was amazed that 1.we shared and 2.I only paid a dollar for them! Sure beats a Spinner for $15!

The boys will need a shopping trip soon for clothes, as all but about 5 pairs of pants between them have HUGE holes in the knees. I really wonder if their teachers make them walk around on their knees all day long at school?

I too will need clothes. My husband pointed out to me a pair of my work pants have a hole in the pocket....I told him I need to buy more clothes, but I want to wait until I lose weight. I look at pictures of me on past trips and think...ewwwwwww. So starting Monday (we are going to Olive Garden for dinner tonight, so I don't want to start today!) I am going to keep track of what I am eating.

I wish I could start walking, as the weather in PA has been great lately, but I slipped a few weeks ago at work and sprained my knee....yes, most normal people sprain their ankle or wrist....not me, I sprain my knee! I am doing Physical Therapy 3 times a week but I may start to do my Wii again. This way I can pick out the activity. No only if I could add a few hours into the day to get this done!

So do I start tweaking these ADRs? Or leave them be and see if we are hungry enough to eat another TS when we are there and try to get in somewhere?

jackskellingtonsgirl

Star, if you have days with no ADRs where you think you might want them, make them NOW and cancel them later. It almost never works to try to walk up.

I'd make any ADRs that I might want and cancel the ones I don't want later or if you decide you're not hungry enough for a TS.

My DH that is. I'm really ready to rip out my hair when it comes to him and out trip!

We went to Olive Garden tonight for dinner :cheer2:. DH and I were talking about our trip and where we are eating and he tells me how he really wanted to do Mickey's BYBBQ. WHAT? When did you tell me this? We did it on our 1st trip in 06, and it was a nice enough time, the food was ok, but for 2 TS I'd rather try HDDR. What kills me is all along he has NEVER said this! Germany, yes.....Italy, yes........ Chef Mickey for b'fast (and dinner), yes.....MBYBBQ, NO!

UGH! This man and changing his damn mind! Of the places we are eating, he has picked a lot of them

Boys picked WCC (and I picked for them as a surprise T-rex)
I picked Coral Reef, Kona, O'hana
He picked 9 Dragons, CM for b'fast and dinner, LTT (which he told me he didn't think we were going to because I said I didn't want dinner there again, so I booked it for lunch)

My mom and Nana picked CP for dinner as we needed something in MK or close that everyone would like (and my Nana is a picky eater) and this way we won't have to leave the park.

How many meals does he think we are eating? I love (insert a whole lotta sarcasm with that 'love') how every time I talk to him about our dining plans he tells me something new. Lesson learned, don't talk to him about the trip!

Of course we started talking about flying and prices. It will cost us about $900 to fly the 4 of us from Philly, plus luggage fees, so bump that to over $1000!!!!!!!!!!! That's a big chunk of change. He then said, "Well, we'll just drive then" Which is what I would prefer, but he has already told the boys we might fly. So of course they are all excited about it. :headache:

When we were talking dining places I mentioned how we could try MBYBBQ when we go back. He had already warned me "This is it, for awhile, I mean it" so I knew I was pressing my luck! He told me in 2 years we would be vacationing on the roof (as in our house needs a new roof, so we will be using an extra funds for that), so I said, "ok, so when we go back in 3 years" He told me 4....which might be do-able.......unless I can hit the lottery before then! At least he wants to go back!

I belong to SR and have about $65 there, hoping to bump it up to $100 before our trip for spending $$$. I also have about 4000 Mypoints and it's 6700 (I think) for a $50 Landry's GC....so I just got $75 in books from B&N for about 750 MP!!!!!!! We have a $25 Landrys card a DISer sent me, so with that and the $50 there is dinner at Trex! The boys also have $25 GC to Build a Bear from their b-days, so I'll bring them so they can each build a dino! Now if only I could start getting Lego GC I'd be the best mom in the world!!!

After Easter I found a Mickey piggy bank...it's about a foot and a half tall and 6in round with Mickey ears at the top. I told the kids and DH this would be a Mickey bank, so all change and loose bills have been going in there. DH took the old hot water heater (ours broke about 2 weeks ago and we got a new one for $400 and DH's friend put it in for FREE) and air compressor to the scrap yard. He got $20! Granted $20 is no where near the $400 we paid, but it's a lot more than if we would have had the garbage men come and take it. He was going to use to toward dinner and I told him we had money for dinner, to put it in the bank!

Speaking of GC. Tonight we were at Olive Garden, waiting for our food when an older couple from the table in back of us came over and said "We just wanted top let you know how wonderful your children are behaving. Here please have this. You are doing a great job as parents. We only wish our grandchildren were half as well behaved as your boys" They gave us a $25 Olive Garden GC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! Not only did they save us a bunch of money, it was so nice to have others notice when our children are good! I have done similar things in the past...gave an extra coupon to someone behind me in line or an extra toy to a child, but this was $25!!!!!!!!

So for as crazy as DH made me, tonight was pretty decent!

Star, I have a chart of our trip. It is in blocks for each day and shows day, date, estimated crowd level, which park we'll be in, park hours, where we are eating for all 3 meals w/ADR times, parade/firework times, and any other info that is specific for that day (Star Wars weekend stuff, housekeeping for the villa, Town Car pick up time, special events like DIS meets, etc.). I keep the chart in my planning notebook, and DH is welcome to review the chart at any time. If there are additions/deletions/adjustments he wants, he needs to say so.

I don't have to worry about it. DH doesn't get Disney and the girls are only allowed a certain number of meals to choose so if they change their minds they have to decide which other ADR to give up.

YAY! Our tax return came in today!!!!!! Looks like I'll be calling Disney to pay our trip off!!!!! :cool1::cool1:

DH said he was going to look at flight tonight....ugh, looks like we will be flying. So since we don't have enough luggage, I just ordered some!!!

http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/luggagebackpacks/luggagesets/PRD~487248/Prodigy+Hudson+5pc+Floral+Luggage+Set.jsp

DH asked why would I order luggage when we have a suitcase....silly, silly man, he thinks 1 suitcase will be enough for us!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA:lmao:

I got a click to save from SW.....do they charge luggage fees? Other than that it is Air Tran and I know they do. The only thing about SW is that the click deal is for one-way tickets for the day we leave, but not the day we come home, so we may be flying 2 different carriers....anyone ever do this? Does it mess with ME?

We haven't flown as a family ever and actually I have never had to book airfare my self (when I went to LV last year, my mom booked the flights). What other kinds of hidden fees should I expect?

I got the boys WALL E towels yesterday at TDS for $10. I just ordered DH an OtterBox for his phone from ebay and the luggage from Kohls.com (free shipping on both) and for points for MyPoints. I have about 1200 more points til a $50 Landrys GC, so I have some more shopping to do!!!

I also have started to do more with SR. I have about $64 in there and want to get up to $100 for a WDW GC for our trip. So that means more surveys for me...did 1 last night and 1 today....getting there!

Now I am off to the Vera bradley website to see what they have on sale...I need (well, want) a new purse!!!!

:rotfl: I have no clue about flying fees. I haven't flown since July 2001. Not that I wouldn't but I find it cheaper to drive with all of us.

Star, Airtran charges for checked bags. It is $15 for the first one, and $25 for the second one per person. And they can't weigh more than 50 lbs. each. They also charge if you want to choose your seat. The drawback to NOT choosing ahead of time is that you may end up with your family scattered about the plane. You can decide if that would be good or bad. ;)

SW does not charge for checked bags. They have a new thing where you pay a fee to board first, but they do not have assigned seating available. If you check in for your flight right at the 24 hour mark you may not need to pay the additional fee. They board in groups - A, B, C, and D. If you are in group A you will definitely get seats together. I *think* they also do some sort of boarding for families with young children between group A and group B, but they may have stopped that. Maybe check the website.

On American they charge for bags, but they do not charge for choosing a seat. They charge for snacks, headphones, and WiFi in flight and they are "cashless" so you HAVE TO use a credit or debit card to buy anything on board.

We booked air travel today.

We leave Phillly Sept 25 at 8:15a on AirTran, arriving at Orlando at 10:49a. We will be taking DME to ASMo.

We leave Orlando Oct 4 at 6:18pm and arrive in Philly at 8:42pm.

Air for all 4 of us was $921.60. Plus $15 a bag/pp then whatever the cost is to 'pick' our seats. I was a little disapointed with the price, but the Disney agent said that it was a pretty good price and doubts we will find it lower....Gosh I hope not, as I am a bargain shopper and hate paying the higher prices.

I have printed out all the menus at allears for our ADRs so I can estimate tips. DH asked me today how much the trip was completely costing us, and how much our tax return was.....I told him and his response was "You better start working some overtime!" Deep breath, Star, deep breath. I am currently on 'light' duty since I injured my knee so OT is out of the question. How about you get a second job there dear!!!!!

Little does he know how much in GC I have squirrlled away (about $465 right now for WDW, plus Build a Dino and Landry for T-Rex). HEHEHEHE I may not tell him about that and hold onto it for some Xmas shopping while in WDW! Although now, we have to watch our luggage amounts. We will pack the 2 big suitcases with clothes for DH and I, 1 of the smaller ones for the kids to share and another smaller one for glosticks, pool stuff, snacks and such, which will also serve as our souvie suitcase! Then we get 4 carry on bags....I'm not worried about storage!

I looked on AT site and strollers are gate checked for free, so I might be bringing it....when we told the kids yesterday they had to walk Disney, their eyes bugged out of their heads!!!! I hear Orlando is a BIG airport, as is Philly and I don't want to hear the boys whine or god forbid, lose one!

Look at flight prices once you book non-refundable plane tickets:furious:

We booked Air Tran for about $1000 once all is said and done with bags and paying to pick our seats (which really kind of us to our fellow fliers, as that will NOT want to be sitting with my kids!).

Today I get an email form SW for round trip tickets leaving about the same time the 25 and coming home a bit earlier on the 4th for $550!!!!! UGH UGH UGH UGH. And that includes 2 checked bags per person. UGH, UGH, UGH!

Lesson learned....don't look at something you can't have!

........the wait for Free Dining is going to push me over the edge (which really isn't too much of a push!)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not a Disney Visa holder, DH does not like credit cards (burned by an exwife), so we only use our debit cards. Fine by me, but damn, today I really wish I had a DV!

DV Card holders are able to book free dining. General Public is rumored to be able to book on Sun or Mon. I will go absolutely bonkers waiting, fearing I am missing out on a GREAT deal. Our travel days are not flexible as we already booked our stupid airfare (did I mention I really don't want to fly? and we paid about $450 more with AT than SW cause my husband wanted to book right away).

I am a bargain shopper and HATE that I have missed out on cheaper airfare (after all, that is less money I would have had to save for spending money) and I may miss out on FD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Either way we will be going, it just would be nice to only have to pay another $1400 on our trip rather than $2300....that's another nice chunk of change (i e more spending money).

OK I'm done whining...that is until I find out my dates/resort are sold out!

Star, how much would it cost you to cancel the AirTran flights? $300? And then you get the difference back, buy the SW tickets, NO bag fee, and you still come out ahead. Or did I miss something somewhere?

The Disney Visa offers always come out about 3 days ahead of general public. Did you check the "Kids Stay, Play and Dine for Free" offer? Since your boys are both younger than 10 it might save you some money.

Good luck getting it all sorted out! :wizard:

VERY true, never thought of canceling and rebooking, I will run it by DH tonight to see what he thinks. Knowing him (he is not as budget minded as me) he will say jsut to keep what we have!

I will have to run the numbers on kids stay and play and eat free....you are right...............hmmmmmmmmmmmmm off to do some math... and I HATE math!

at least now I have a backup plan should we not be able to get FD. Thanks Elizabeth!

You're welcome! :)

We did have free dining one year, and it saved us about $500. And that was back when appetizers and tips were included! Ever since DS became an "adult" by WDW standards, we lose money with dining plans. Of course now we do the hotel with DVC points so we wouldn't qualify for free dining anyway.

Again I am falling behind....sorry to my 2 readers!!!! LOL!

At the end of March I slipped at work and hurt my knee. I actaully sprained the outside muscle, which, according to the orthopaedic surgeon is probably healed by now...BUT since it kept me from walking normaly it has ripped up some other stuff in my knee and has caused a floating kneecap! Weeeee Fun! NOT! The pain has really been depressing me (along with some other family drama). My house is a disaster, I have not been getting home most night until 7pm after my physcial therapy, my kids ask me to play and I feel like a terrible mommmy cause I am not spending time with them becuase when I get home from work I have used all energy I have.

I saw the ortho dr today and he told me it's a long process (well no duh! It's been how many weeks already) and a frustrating one he can do a surgery and fix it, I just need time. Hmmm YAY more time with walking with a limp, in pain, and a house that is a mess. However he did give me an injection into the knee. I am still on work restrictions for 6 more weeks (they are going to love me at work....not) and in PT for 12 more weeks. Since the injection I have had nothing but pain, but the dr assured me that it will be better tommorrow.

OK I'm done whining now!

Monday I called WDW at 7am and was SO happy I called from my phone (thanks GOd for Rollover!) and was able to drive to work while on hold....for a total time of 50 minutes! But a savings of $977 was well worth it! We upgraded to the Regular Dining Plan. So everything is booked and planned.

Now what?:confused3

OH I suppose I can start packing? Cause my new luggage came!!!!

This is the set, but mine is a black/grey with big tropical flowers in a grey color

http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/luggagebackpacks/brandsforluggage/prodigy/PRD~487246/Prodigy+Hudson+5pc+Luggage+Set.jsp

Of course the site doesnt have it listed now.

So this weekend will be making a packing list, organinzing my Princess binder and maybe taking some photos of it.

Speaking of photo's Mother's Day is this weekend and my stepmom, who raised me, is going to WDW the end of the month with my brother and his girlfriend. I was going to get her a Disney GC so she could by herself something, but while in Target today I found a Kodak Easy Share camera for $45, it was 50% off!!!!!!:cool1: SO I called her and asked her which she wanted...the camera or the GC and she picked the camera and was THRILLED! She is not a techie type person, this will be a nice easy camera for her to learn on and get her own pictures.

Now if only I can figure out what to get my other mom...... yeah, got none!

Well that will be all for tonight, hopefully this wekend will produce some photos?

This weekend consisted of doing a whole lotta notta! And Boy did I need it! We (and I mean me) did get the boys room clean and dusted, new curtains hung, the hallway/office room dusted and swept and some dishes done. We leave in 11 day for OBX and the neighbor boy is coming over to cat and turtle sit (the dogs are going to the vet to be boarded) so I want to make sure the house is cleaner than usual! Not that a 14yo boy will really care if my house is dusted, but I don't want his mom to see I don't usually dust!!!

So I also orgainzed my Disney Binder!!!!! I have been wanting to do this for awhile now, but finally sat down to do it while the boys and I watched Avatar (beautiful colors, but basically the story of the American Indians but in the future). I updated our "Saving for Mickey Page" as we now have $500 in GC to play with! I put in all the menus from allears so DH can see what there is to order ahead of time, so we go in ready! I made a "Rides" list and printed a calendar sheet to put our ADR times and what park what day. I also printed the park hours, but a good friend looked up the crowd levels for the days we are going so I went by that as far was what park/what day, but it is nice to have to park hours in there too. I printed out our flight info as well. I have most of this info on my iphone, but don't want to risk something happening to the phone and being lost! I am an old fashioned gal when it comes to things like that. I have had a computer since I was 8 and know that things can get lost!

I booked an earlier 'Ohana, our original ressie was for 8:50, the new one if for 8:35. Not much of a difference, but I figure DH will not be so annoyed with the time if it is earlier. Hopefully I can work it up to 8pm! I also added a celebration to a few of our ressies.....When we go to CP for dinner, there will be 4 generations there, which I think is something to celebrate (esp if other people are celebrating b-days several months away..not judging). I also added a celebration of Too Cool for School for both boys as they will now be in the "Big School."

Now onto my Target rant......
In prep for OBX and the summer I was looking for a new digital camera. We have a cannon Powershot that we got in 2006 before our trip to Disney (my dad got it for me as a late B-day gift, we did end up replacing it when Cody ripped the lense cover off!). It has been a decent camera, but summer usually means DH and I go to different events and we both want the camera. My solution is to buy a new one!

So I looked around online today and see this

http://www.target.com/Canon-PowerShot-12-1MP-Digital-Leather/dp/B003AMPOT2/ref=br_1_1?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&qid=1274049953&searchView=grid5&sr=1-1&node=1038668&searchRank=pmrank&searchPage=1&searchSize=30&id=Canon%20PowerShot%2012%201MP%20Digital%20Leathe r&searchBinNameList=purchasing_channel%2Ctarget_com_ category-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin%2Cstyle_name%2Cprice%2Coptical_sensor_resoluti on_derived%2Coptical_zoom_derived%2Ctarget_com_pri mary_color-bin%2Cdisplay_size_derived

I look around at other sites and see the price is about the same, but Targets comes with a camera card and a case! Bonus! I look at the "Find it at a Target Store" and WAHOO my local store lists is as available.....any Target shopper can tell you where this is headed......so I drive the 20mins one way to Target, kids in tow, to be told by the sales kid that they had it at Mothers Day but they had no more in stock. WHAT?!?!? The website said that it was available. He told me the site was wrong as it usually is.:scared1: I thanked him for his time, as I know it is not his fault and came home and ordered it online, paying $6.23 for shipping!

So I emailed Target to let them know I am annoyed that I wasted gas money ($2.78/gal currently) and time to drive to a store that listed this item as "available" not even "Limited stock". We'll see how far I get.

Although as a bonus, I ended up paying $167.xx because orders over $125 got an additional 15% off, so with tax and shipping I ended up getting it cheaper, but I am still annoyed that 1.I wasted time and gas money to get something that wasn't there and 2.I want to play with my new camera NOW!

I'll be sure to post some picts when I get it! Hopefully it comes on a day when I get home before DH so I don't have to hear about it!

"Dear Star,

I'm sorry that the store availability information listed on our website for the Canon PowerShot digital camera was incorrect.

I've passed this information to the right team and will make sure that we get it taken care of as soon as possible.

Please keep in mind that, shipping charges are an unavoidable part of using a mail-order service, but we know that they can seem a nuisance.

That's why we're always working to keep our shipping costs as low as possible.

At Target.com, shipping and handling charges are based on the following:
The delivery option you choose
The weight, size and dimensions of your items
Your shipping preferences

We know you count on more than just great products from Target.com, and that having a reliable website is just as important. It's disappointing to hear about this error, and I'm sorry we let you down.

Thanks for your patience while we fix this problem."

So my waste of time is worth nothing, as is my gas money. Had I ordered the camera 1st I would have thought nothing of paying the shipping charges, but I drive to the store and wasted time and gas to find out they didn't have it, which is what I am most annoyed about. Oh well, looks like Target will not be my 1st stop anymore!

I would have been mad about the camera, too! :headache: But I also wouldn't have learned my lesson after 1 Target. We have 3 Targets and a Super Target within reasonable distance, so I would have probably gone to all 4 before I gave up. And then I would have been REALLY mad! :rotfl2:

We just got home this past week from OBX!!!! We had a great time, although I just about cried leaving. I did NOT want to come home! At least I have Disney in 114 days! Not sure what I'll tell myself when I leave WDW!

While we were on vacation I got an email (gotta love the i-phone) stating Air Tran changed our flight. I had been warned about this and thankfully it is nothing I can't live with.

Our original flight was leaving Philly at 8am, they moved it up to 7am. Now I will HAVE to go back to the resort for a nap, as the boys will be beyond tired waking up early enough to get that flight.

The flight home was moved up to 4:30p, it had been 6:30, so 2 hours earlier. Not that thrilled about that one, as it means we have to leave earlier....boo!

I went to make a payment on the website tonight and I'm not sure if it went thru or not....I guess I will wait until tomorrow to see if I get and email confirmation. It won't be a big deal if I pay it twice as it was a small payment, but I'll wait to see.

I am still on half days at work due to my knee injury. I see the Ortho dr on the 17th, so hopefully I'll be released to full duty so I can get back to working OT at the hospital and picking up per diem visits at the VNA. DH asked me about when my appt was as he knows we have about $1000 left to pay on our trip, plus spending money and knows I can't get extra money at work until I am off restricted duty. I have just over $500 in Disney GC, but I want to hold onto those for shopping and such!!!!

Usually the summer is a busy time for the VNA. From the end of June to the end of August we have the maximum amount of nurses off every day of the week (which means no one else can take the day off, unless they call in sick). So there are usually extra patients that don't have a nurse assigned, which opens them up as per diem visits and we can pick up extra visits.

Currently we have SEVERAL nurses out for various reasons.....

1 nurse is out due to a broken wrist....she has started PT but still can't bend or turn her arm

1 nurse out until the middle of this month, at least, as her 49yo husband passed away unexpectedly last month. We aren't even sure if she will be back then

1 nurse is out due to a broken neck. He was in a car accident in Oct while working, they did PT and injections and he was still having pain. They FINALLY sent him to a neuro sx and his C6 vertebrea was broken! They sent him in for surgery the next day and he will be out for awhile longer.

1 nurse went in for surgery Fri to have a pre-melanoma tumor removed from her leg. She will be out a minimum of 2 weeks then goes on vacation.

So with those nurses out, plus the nurses out for vacation, the probability of extra money is good! Well good for me, not them.

I do love:rolleyes: the fact that DH told me *I* have to pick up extra shifts and patients.....yet I don't see him looking for a 2nd job! This has long been a battle with us. I make more than him (he is salaried so no OT for him) and can make 3x as much as he could with a part time job (hourly OT as a nurse is pretty good pay) so the deal was I would do the extra work, but he would pick up the slack at home, cleaning and such. You can see where I am going here.....I would work all the extra hours and come home to a messy home because he didn't want to clean as it will just get messy the next day:sad2: So stalemate! I think I will have to have a reminder discussion with him about this.

Well it is late and my bed is calling. WE still haven't unpacked from vacation and the kitchen is a mess. The playroom is :eek: and DH has already said it will get cleaned tomorrow. I tried to beg my mom to come over to help clean it (it is THAT bad) but no dice! She doesn't want to drive from NY to help. Imagine that!:rotfl:

I will try to post some picts of OBX.....all taken with the new camera. I have been happy with the auto setting, now I will have to play around with the other settings! I SO want a digital SLR, but that won't be until after WDW (plus with all I have to carry, it will just be too big). So for now, the new Cannon will do!

Night!

I ma trying to upload more to photbucket, so it will take awhile. The trip was GREAT! I took around 309 picts and was only in 1 of them, so I am thinking of getting the photopass CD, so on our Disney trip I will actually be in a few of the pictures!

The kids have become little change-hounds, looking for change anywhere they can to put in the Mickey Bucket!!!! I've been throwing in bills, usually small ones (any big ones I put in, DH takes when he needs a few $$ UGH!) and the change for spending money. Yesterday my mom came over, she was in WDW Before Memorial Day, to give us the goodies she got for us. She got me a MM Rice Krispie Treat head...which was gone by this morning. She got each of the the boys a light up Mickey light saber type toy. Hopefully they don't break before our trip and I remember to pack them! And she gave us 2, $1 DD!!!! And even better, a $25gc!!!!! She said she didn't use it!!! :scared1: I asked her if she was sure, and she said she didn't see anything that jumped out at her, so she gave it to us!!! :cool1:

I am off to make some hostess packets. I have booked a ton of Fantasia Parties lately :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: All money for vacation! II may come back later to post some more of the pictures from OBX!

So I'm watching "Walt Disney World Resort: Behind the Scenes" that I DVRed the other day!!!!!! So I thought I would post some goings ons here.

The last few days I have felt CRUDDY.....tired, lightheaded, hot, headaches and just not feeling well. I had one of the nurses at work check my BP and it was a bit high (140/98). The next day I woke up feeling better, but as the day progressed I started feeling the same way. I made an appt yesterday with my family dr and she checked my BP, again it was high (130/104 :scared1:). So she started me on BP meds and ordered a slew of bloodwork.

I jsut took my 1st BP med, as today I felt the same way again. I am hoping tomorrow will be better because this is NO fun!

So onto trip stuff...............

I took the kids to Walmart to get some things for the house and found a mini water fan. Most DISers know they have the $7 fans that are rather big and cumbersome to carry. I found this one for $4 and while it is smaller and doesn't hold as much water, it is smaller which means easier to carry in my backpack!!!!!

I realized I haven't posted our 'plans' so away we gooooooooooooooooooo

Sat Sept 25th...Leave home at some early hour to get to my in laws house so FIL can drive us to Philly airport for our flight at 7am. Orginally we booked an 8am flight, but Airtran changed that for us  We should arrive in Orlando at around 10:30. We will take DME to ASmo which will be our home for the duration of the trip. With luck our next trip we will be a family of 5 which mean this is the last year we can stay at a value without getting 2 rooms.
Hopefully we can do an early checkin and get into our room. If not, then we will drop off our stuff and head to MK. We had asked the boys what ride they wanted to go on 1st and they both said Buzz. We have 6:30 ressies for WCC as the boys wanted to eat at the place with the Lincoln Logs! I imagine we will be heading back to the hotel after dinner as it will have been a long day for us.

Sun Sept 26...plan is to go to AK during the day, eating counter service for lunch and maybe a nap back at the room before heading to Epcot for dinner at Nine Dragons at 7. We ate lunch there last trip and DH wanted to try dinner as lunch was pretty good. After dinner back to the hotel since EP closes at 9

Mon Sept 27...is another MK day. We wil be meeting up with my Nana and Papa as well as my mom. I am so excited for this! 4 Generations in 1 park!!!! WE have dinner ressies for 5:55 at CP. This is a new place for us but I felt a buffet offered everyone a choice of what to eat. My Nana is very, lets say, picky about the foods she eats. My hope is the buffet will make everyone happy. We will spend the entire day in MK, hopefully seeing the parades and fireworks.

Tues Sept 28 is MGM day. That's right, I said MGM.....it will always be MGM to me! This will be another 'split' day as we will be going to EP for dinner at Coral Reef. My plan is to do as much as we can before lunch at MGM and hop over to EP for lunch or just after. None of us a huge thrill riders, so TOT, RNC do not appeal to us. We really wanted ot do Star Tours as the boys are HUGE SW fans, but it will be closed:sad1: We will also have a day there later in the week to finish up what we want to. We have dinner ressies at Coral Reef for 7.

Ok, I will post the rest of the vacation plans after a little break. Time for dinner!

Ok dinner has been over for hours and the kids are in bed (although Shane has come downstairs 3 times now for his normal stalling tactics).

Wed Sept 29 is another MK day in the morning, lunch at LTT at 1:30. Then the evening is open somewhat. I booked CMC, another new one for us, for dinner at 7pm. This might be a good night to go swimming back at the resort before or after dinner....not too sure. I want to leave some 'free' time for us to relax from our vacation, maybe resort hop?

Thurs Sept 30...early morning for us as we are off to CM for 8:15am ressies, then over to one of the water parks. DH really wanted to try the Water Parks, so we added them onto our park passes to make him happy. Not sure which one we are going to. I can't imagine staying there ALL day (they close at 5) so I made surprise ressies at T Rex for us! We will then do some DTD shopping. The boys have done nothing but talk about the Lego Store! I better pack lightly as they will no doubt be wanting TONS of legos!

Friday Oct 1.....Epcot in the morning till after lunch then over to AK as they have PM EMH until 8pm...this is the only time during our trip they have PM EMH here and from what I have seen, it is something to see. Then dinner at Kona at 7:55. Again Kona is new to us this trip.

(Shane came down for the 4th attempt at stalling bedtime)

Sat Oct 2 we have MGM planned most of the day. Depending on what we get done we may park hop or go to the hotel for some pool time. Dinner at O'hana at 8:35.

Sun Oct 3......last full day at WDW....nothing planned for the morning. I have some ???s on my master copy calendar so it might be a day to do things we missed or want to do again. We go back to CM at 6:30 for dinner. We did b'fast in the past, but DH wanted to try dinner!

Mon Oct 4......gonig home day.............BOOOOOOOOOOOOO........ WE have Ohana scheduled at 8:20 for b'fast, but may cancel that (more below). Our flight doesn't fly out of Orlando until 4 so we have some time to do something. DH really doesn't want to go to a park and get all sweaty, but I don't want to sit around doing nothing on our last day. Our flight should get in around 6:30 so with anyluck we will be home, in our house by 10pm. The boys will go toschool tues, but I have taken the day off to get things back in order before going back to work.

If you add up all those ADR you will see we have 12. We have TS for 9 (it goes by the number of nights you stay). Our T Rex will be OOP as they don't accept the DDP, but I have GCs for it. So that leave 2 we are paying OOP. I added up the 'guesstimate' prices and most places will cost us about the same. The dinner at CP will be 7 of us, and Papa may pick up the check (not banking on it, just trying to do some ADR math!) and if he does that only leaves us with 1oop, which is acceptable. If not, we will cancel Ohana our last day. I did it last trip with my DN and the boys and it was ok, but expensive! SO we will have to wait and see.

ok, off to relax some more, hopnig Shane stays in his room the rest of the night!

That's right..........98 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

I went to the ortho dr this week and am back to work full duty! Which means I can start picking up extra patients for extra $$$:cool1:

My best friend, who works on the weekend as a supervisor, told me she heard from another manager that over the summer they were going to pay premium pay for extra visits!!!! :cool1::cool1:

It has not been formally announced yet so the visit I am doing tomorrow may or may not count in the pay increase, but either way it will be extra $, Disney $. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I picked up a patient tomorrow. The only thing is I have to start writing them down, so I can remember come pay day, how much money is extra so I can call Disney on pay day and pay that amount toward our trip.

Off to clean....I think.....then again the couch looks like more fun!

I went and saw an extra patient today...so sad only 47 and a grade 3 brain tumor.....the fight s/he has in front of them is amazing! Makes me grateful everyday for my health....

Anyway, DH posted on his FB page how his wife was working for our Disney trip in Sept.

This afternoon I get a call from my cousin asking what days were we going, they will be there overlapping days!!!!! My cousin and his wife have a almost 5 and 3 year old. So we will try to get together the 1st weekend we are down there! His kids haven't been there before so they will be amazed!

My cousin and I were much closer when we were younger, as my dad and his dad were my grandparents only kids, so holidays, weekends, our families were always together. Sadly, since my grandparents died, everyone has kind of gone their separate ways. We occassionaly see each other at b-day parties or graduation parties, but this would be fun!

ALthough it may mess with my 'which park, which day' plans:scared1:

That's great about your cousin. We spent some time at Disney with my step-sister and her family. It was a blast!!!

I'm going on a scavenger hunt of sorts....I have been buying stuff for this trip for.....well since before it was booked! A photo album here, glow bracelets there, TS color books....and can you guess what happened to them all....

Yup, I have no clue!!!!!! So while my DH has the boys outside I'm going on a scavenger hunt to seek out my many purchases. I will take photos and once DH is done on the computer tonight, I will post all my wonderful treasures!!!!!

Not sure where everyone else is from but here in NE PA it has been H-O-T hot!

As of June 1st my mom retired at age 55 from Verizon in NYC! YAY mom! Jokingly one day I mentioned how she should start watching her grandsons to save me a ton in daycare. My mom is not a 'kid' person. Don't get me wrong, she had 3 of her own, and she LOVES the boys, but I never actually thought she would take me up on it!!! The plan is, starting the 2nd weekend in July she will take the boys Sun night to Wed night. I will take them to her on Sun and she will meet me in NJ on Wed nights once I get out of work. They will go to daycare on Thurs and Fri and have Sat and most of Sun with me and DH. I am not one to pawn my kids off and I will miss them SO much, but it will help me out in several ways....

1. Daycare costs, it will save me $280 every 2 weeks, so $560 a month, which would be about an extra $1000 by the time the boys have to go back to school.

2. It would give DH and I some 'alone' time with each other and alone to do things we have wanted to do but couldn't because of the kids....in a way reconnect.

3. It would allow me to pick up extra patients on the nights the boys aren't home, and allow me to make extra money (now I can do this while they are home, now, but I find once I get home DH turns them loose on me and I have no time to unwind)

4. It would allow us, DH and I to get rid of stuff while the boys weren't home!!!!!!!! And get this place cleaned up

5. I hardly see the boys as it is after work on these days....I get home around 5:30, they are in bed by 9, but cooking dinner and baths cut a lot of that time down.

6. The boys would get to spend time with their Mema.....who as I know all too well, will not be around forever (my Bama and I were close). She has a pool and 2 dogs and is SO looking forward to this. She has little day trips planned...the movies, the zoo and so on.

Sounds great, right............wrong. DH won't get on board with it. He had several excuses when I 1st brought it up, mainly concerned if daycare would allow us to do it and if they would still hold their FT spot for the fall. I emailed the director, and it's not a problem. His other 'issue' was that he would miss the boys too much. And while I see this as a valid point, I also want to bring up that maybe once a week after DC he will let them play outside and ride bikes, all the other days they are inside, watching TV or playing Wii while DH is on the computer or watching TV. It's not like he is spending quality time with them that he would miss them SO much.

So tomorrow, when DH and I are speaking again (got into it about Disney....he tells me tonight I am forcing him into going to somwhere he doesn't want to go again...........geez jackhole, thanks for sharing that now!)
we will discuss this again!

Any pointers?

Well it seems we will miss my cousin and his family by a day! They leave friday and we arrive Sat! Oh well! Although it would have been nice, this is our 1st only us trip to WDW and we are already meeting up with my Nana, Papa and Mom so I guess it works out ok.

I talked to DH about the idea of the boys spending a few days/week with my mom. At 1st he was an 'absolutely no' now he is thinking about it. I think I can get him to come around!

We have no internet or cable right now.....they earliest they can get someone out is next week :scared1: So it's been a LOT of movies in our house since last night! Thankfully I have an aircard for my work laptop so we still have limited (as in SLOW) internet. The kids have a new DVD player (theirs died about a month ago and we finally got one last week and hooked it up last night) and we have some shows on DVR to catch up on (not sure hwy that still works, but I'm not complaining).

I am hopnig that my by not having the computer or TV as an excuse we might get some stuff done around here. In fact today I cleaned out the playroom and took 2 and a half rubbermaid totes to the basement....full of toys the boys will hardly miss....I hope!

Tonight I had a Fantasia party and made about $65 in commission and then another $40 in cash (for cash and carry items)!!!!!!!!!!!! Woot Woot!!! Disney money!!!!!! Of course I was hoping DH would do something in the house while I was out.....other than run the dishwasher......:sad2: Guess next time I will leave a list for him.

Well DH has agreed for the boys to go to my moms, they go this Sunday:banana: Yay! Yay for some time 'alone' with DH and YAY for saving money!!!! And YAY for the boys who are SO very excited to spend some time with their Mema!

I was in CT last weekend for a Gathering of some special moms and kids so no OT or Per Diem work:sad2: DOn't get me wrong, I am SO happy I was able to spend time with these gals, but I spent more than I should have (we went to the Bronx Zoo, to dinner one night and to the beach which cost money as well). :headache: But that also meant no extra patients.

We still have a balance to pay on our trip and have until mid Aug to pay it :scared1: My plan with all these extra patients was to call Disney with partial payments once we got paid, however it seems like something has always come up just before or on payday!!! UGH! So starting this next pay and mileage I will do just that, anything that comes up will have to be dealt with later!!!! I have signed up for visits on Sat, so that will be $200 and we just got raises!!!!! Not big ones, but every little bit helps! I also might bonus this month (if we see 5.4 patients average in a month we get a bonus, my boss is really pushing for this, but it also means working like a horse!) So now next pay, anything over what we normally make will get called on payday to Disney. We just got paid this week, but it's daycare and mortgage week, which is usually a tighter week. So I'll just start next week!

Our Mickey bank is filling up nicely...about $40 in bills and who knows how much in change.....if I think of it I will post picts tonight when I get home.

I ordered my GC from MyPoints for Trex, so now we have $75 for that!!!!

I also booked out seats on Airtran...$48 later  I've looked at flights since booking, other than that SW deal awhile back, everything else has been higher, so I am happy we booked when we did.

This weekend we have a graduation party and Sun I trek the boys to my mom's! Oh, and some work tomorrow.......bla....but if I keep in mind it's for Disney, it will keep me motiavated............I think!

Oh goodness, here in the NE it is HOT! And of course I am working in this awfulness! And my last patient didn't have her AC on.....:scared1: I got out of there as fast as I could!!!!

In between my patients I was talking to my mom who was surprised that I was working today. I told her we still had a balance on our trip and it seems like every time I work to get the money to pay it, something else comes up. She asked me how much we owed and I told her, so she said she would pay it!!!!! I LOVE my mom!!!! She just told me not to waste the money I have been working for and pay something else with it!!!!!!

While I still need to 'bust a move' to make money for the trip (for spending and tips and such) I no longer have to worry about the trip!!!! Mom had told me when my Granddaddy had died that she wanted to do something for each of us. She is paying my brothers student loans, she is buying my sister furniture for her apartment, and she offered to pay some of my bills. She was thinking Creditcards, but we don't have any! So then she offered to pay money on our van payment...which is fine, but then some bills have found us....like the yearly garbage and fire tax, so she said she's pay that which is only $1500. I'll probably have her start my emergency fund once we come back from WDW, and then start Dave Ramsey. Now just to get DH on board!!!

So here are some things I have gathered for our trip.

http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff336/starann98/2010-06-21128.jpg
Nemo Pens for Auto signing. I had gotten a GIANT pen, but the dog ate it...no, really, he did!

http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff336/starann98/2010-06-21127.jpg
My Vera Carryon bag (at Least I think it will be...or my Mickey Backpack.

http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff336/starann98/2010-06-21126.jpg
Some Glo Sticks. I have spend the last 3 weeks looking for the glo swords I got at the Dollar tree. I am the type of person who, when I misplace something, it will drive me CRAZY until I find it.....guess what I found tonight! I don't have any picts of those since I just found them!

http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff336/starann98/2010-06-21125.jpg
Our mini Mister fan. I have a large one, but found it too much to carry. Other years we had the stroller to stick it in, but no stroller this year!!!

http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff336/starann98/2010-06-21124.jpg
Autograph books from Walgreens. DH balked that I spend money on them, but 5.99 is a lot better than in the parks at 12.50!

http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff336/starann98/2010-06-21121.jpg
Some Target $1 Spot finds for the plane for the boys!

So now that I have found the glo swords I am a happy gal and can put them all together in the Disney box!

As I mentioned before my mom is watching the boys Sun to Wed to help us save some $$$ on daycare and to spend time with them. Each Wed we meet at Bridgewater Common Mall in NJ (about half way for us) and they have a Vera Bradley store. Last week they had their Java Blue luggage 25% off and mom offered to buy me a piece....the large one was $300, so it would have been $225...DEAL! And it was soooooooo pretty, but I said no. I would be so MAD if it got ruined by the airline as it is fabric. Did I mention how pretty it was? But on the bright side, the VB store at the mall is having a big 'party' this Wed:banana::banana: So I just may have to get myself something!

So with mom watching the boys I have been able to pick up extra patients lately....which adds a nice chunk to my pay in addition to saving on daycare. The 1st week was nice, but now I have GOT to start putting some of it away for Disney. I did a Fantasia party last weekend and made money and it went right into the Mickey Bank...which reminds me I have to take a picture of that to post. It is so big that I doubt it will be filled before our trip, but it has more than I thought it would and I have yet to unload the change spots in our cars.

DH has decided to stay at a hotel the night before our flight leaves. In a way this is nice as we won't have to wake up as early to get to Philly, but it is so much money for just a few hours of sleep. However, ask me what I think of that sleep once we arrive at Disney, I'm sure I will not mind the money spent!

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother to keep up with this, it seems as if no one is reading, but one day it will all be a nice memory for me and my family, so I will continue to write, even if I am the only one reading it!

1 month...........2 weeks..............5 days

It's getting so close. It seems unreal it is almost here!

Vera Bradly had large duffels on sale, so I ordered one......and some other stuff!!! (shhhhhhhhhh, don't tell my hubby) I got a cool keeper to keep in the backpack to keep stuff cool (it holds 2 water bottles), and I got a mini zip wallet to carry in place of a purse, in the backpack.

My plan for the duffel is to use it as a carry on, carry a change of clothes for each of us, the electronics (camera, video camera, phones), medicaitons for all of us (pills, I will pack the childrens Motrin) and some activites for the kids for the plane.

I also cashed out my Mypoints for a $50 Landry's GC to use for TRexand it has come, so now we have $75 for our dinner there. I just cashed out my SR for $75...not bad for someone who does a survery here or there!

Oh, I have to submit a mileage statement (at work we get paid for our miles driven, we jsut have to submit in the miles) for 2 weeks ago, then next week I will be getting another one. I plan on using this money (the mileage checks) as spending money.

More good new, DH got a letter from him boss letting him know he got a 5% raise!:banana: I also got a 2% raise (the 1st in 3 years). So we will have a little extra in our pay checks.

Tomorrow a dear friend and her mom will coming to visit (from NJ) for a yearly fesitval we have called Musikfest, it is many, many music performers (some local people which are free, then some more headliners that are concerts), LOTS of food (all different cultures) and other fun stuff. There are no rides, but it is usually a good time. Erin, my friend, and I have been friends since we were 3, so her and her mom have been in my life forever. When we were younger, I would go to LBI with Erin and her family for a week, then she would come here for Musikfest for a week. Some years I skip Musikfest all together, but when people come visit I'll go. The food is yummy (but expensive) and the music is nice, but the company will be even better!

Well off to bed....it seems as if, at age 30, I will have to have my tonsils out. EVERY time I get sick, it goes to my tonsils, which are BIG to begin with even when I'm not sick. I saw my dr today and she said it was time for them to come out, she is starting to worry because it is now cuasing problems with swallowing (stuff is gettign stuck between my tounge and tonsil, some of it making it down into my throat, but another part getting stuck). I hear getting them out is harder recovery when you are older, so I am not looking forward to that, but I am looking forward to not having to deal with 'kissing' tonsils!

I have days where my journals just talks to me! :lmao: Then again, I often talk to myself in real life anyway. Especially when I'm trying to tell my husband or children to do something! :rotfl2:
Great purchases! I bought some glow sticks at Michael's for $0.99 a container. I'm sure they're not great quality but who cares? We're using retractable sharpies for autographs since I made photobooks. Those Nemo pens are cute!
I love those Walmart autograph books. Maybe I'll get them for our January trip so I'm not planning to do all the extras....
Surprize Ink books are perfect for travel. I bought one for Zachary because he makes a mess. I'm sure the big kids will "borrow" it. ;) Can't go wrong with Vera Bradley. I like your bag alot!

I talk to AND answer myself!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been getting glow sticks for awhile now....usually on clearence fairly cheap and have them in the spare room (the boys share a room, the spare room was my nieces until she moved out and will hopefully be a nursey with in the next year or so!!!!). This weekend though, the boy were in the spare room, goofing off instead of napping, and found them, opened them and activated them!!!!!!!! UGH!!!! Oh well, now they jsut have less to play with at WDW!

I haven't used the Surprize Ink before so I'm glad to hear they work! The boys have Color Wonder stuff and I LOVE it. Esp since the boys have taken 'real' markers to my walls!!!!!!!:scared1:

I have been looking for new Crocs, without paying full price online! Needless to say I have had a hard time finding them in stores.

Today I found a black pair (standard crocs) for $23 then found a pink pair for 6.60  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!

Awhile back I posted about falling at work and doing something to my knee. I did the physcial therapy and had a steriod injection (which helped better than any pain meds). Things have been fine for sometime.......that was until Saturday! This past Sat I had friends from NJ here to go to Musikfest. It's a 10 day music festival....oh and food! It is in our Historic area and is a LOT of hills.....I mean a LOT (did I tell you there was a lot of hills). As we were walking back to the car I felt that my knee hurt......when I got home and sat for awhile I felt that it REALLY hurt.....yet I still had a party to go and do (and made $100!!!).

Sunday came and I was in so much pain.....today at work I was ok, until I came home.....now I ahve taken 2 pain pills and have iced it up. Still in gobs of pain. I have to call the ortho dr to get in, my fear though it that he will give me the injection, but by the time we go to WDW it will wear off. So I'm torn..deal with the pain for 2 or 3 more weeks and get the injection and be great for WDW OR get the injection now and feel better now then run the risk of having pain in WDW.........................oh what to do?!?!?!?!?!?!

DrMomof3

I would probably deal with pain now so it'll be better for WDW but I tend to be a martyr!

I'm hoping to start a master list here, since all the lists I make at home end up lost or thrown away!!!!

I'm welcome to any suggestions

Tip Envelopes......plus cash to go into them for Mousekeeping

Luggage.....large suitcases, we have 3, we need 1

Sunscreen

Ear plugs (both boys HATE loud noises and since we have never watched the fireworks, I REALLY want to this time!)

Ziplock baggies for air travel and for keeping things dry in the backpack

Ziplock take and toss containers (for desserts we can't finish, this way they don't get smooshed)

Sunglasses for the boys (TDS has them on sale for 1.99!)

Mini M&M's for our coins (the boys LOVE to do pressed pennies and we got a book to store them all in last time...now if only I can find it!)

Video Tapes for camcorder

Memory cards for camera

Power strip for electronics

stroller (ordered)

over the door shoe organizer

Mickey and such Tshirts for the boys (TDS has not had a good sale on shirts in awhile!)

New Sneakers for DH

Shorts for DH (he now has 2 pair of jean shorts and 3 pairs of cargo shorts)

Crocs for me (cause they are crack for feet!)

(stuff in red I have now gotten!)

I'll add more as I think of it........does anyone have any suggestions? Elizabeth sent me her packing list, but I wasn't able to pull it up.

So it is official, we are 45 days out and ALL paid up!

So there is no canceling, no 'money' issues popping up! The trip is paid, we have about $640 in WDW GC, $75 in Landrys (for Trex) GC, $50 in Build a Bear GC (for Build a Dino in Trex). We have some cash set aside, but that will be added to as we go (my mileage checks will be put in now until the trip, that's about 3 to 4 more before the trip as well as Fantasia check that is coming for about $100).

I feel SO good about it now!!!!!

I went to get myself some clothes today....got 2 pairs of shorts, a pair of capris and 7 shirts for about $110!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mainly for the trip, but the shirts I can wear to work. We went to a Greek place for dinner today (YUM!) and then went to Kohls to get DH sneakers........he picked BLACK ones......Black, really? I HATE Black sneakers. UGH! I also picked him up a pair of shorts from Kmart for under $10...he now has 2 pair!

I'm REALLY torn about bringing a stroller or not. We don't have one, so we would have to buy it. The 2 I am looking at are the Graco IPO that another Diser is getting for her trip that is just weeks away!!!! The other is the Combi

Here is the Combi $229.99
http://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=16955361&RN=7032&

And the Graco $189.99
http://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?SKU=17135090&RN=7032&

They aren't cheap....Buy Buy Baby and BRU both have the Combi in the store to see and have the kids sit in, so I'm going to take them to see if they even fit (they are ok with the weight restrictions, Cody is just tall). I just wish they had the Graco so I can see it and have them sit in it. I have a 20% off coupon for both stores (not online) so that will bring the price down A LOT. But it still is not cheap. ALthough the price of renting for 10 days is about the same and I would have nothing to show for it. At least if I buy one I have it and can either keep it and use it for the boys for the rest of the year or sell it and recoup some of the money back.

DH thinks we will be fine without one and doesn't want to pay to check one.. HAHA, you can gate check it for FREEEEEEEE! I also don't think he wants to lug it, BUT neither of us can carry them when they get tired, and they will get tired.

So I am off to worry and think about it some more..........ugh... but at least our trip is paid!

I posted awhile back about the Mickey Bank I found at Walgreens after Easter. Well here is a picture!

http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff336/starann98/legostore002-1.jpg

We've managed to fill it up with more than I thought we would and I haven't even cleaned out the car change in the ashtray yet. We have about $245 in bills in addition to the change!

DH says this is our last big trip for a long time as our house needs a roof. I have already started to get sad and our trip is still over 40 days away!!! I am wishing I would have booked WL for the extra $900....you know to make it more memorable. LOL! I'm hoping that if I really start to get working with SR and save spare change we can get back there faster....after all SR can't be used for a roof;). And we won't be able to do a value as with any luck we will have another child. I guess it will give me something to look forward to!

I would LOVE to go on a solo trip, but right now, with the boys being so little I would feel so guilty! So that is not an option either.

I went to AC Moore today and got iron on paper and tshirts (they were even on sale 2 for 5!). Does anyone know if I have to wash the shirts before I do the transfer or after? I found a really neat tshirt with Star Wars Lego characters on it. The boys will flip for these! I usually hit the Disney Store for shirts for them. Our last trip I scored a ton of t-shirts on sale before going. Now it seems as if the quality of the shirts has declined, yet the prices have increased! :confused3 So I saw the shirt on another Disser's PTR (hi Hope!) and thought it would be perfect. Of course DH got annoyed I was spending money and said "Why don't you just buy them shirts in Disney?" UGH! I will see how I do with these, I might make one other one for each of them....I'll let them pick what character they want. Cody will pick WallE....Shane, I'm not too sure about.

Since it is 2:30am I guess I better get my booty to bed....the sun will be up before long.....with any luck I won't get called out. I'm on call for work this week.......which means I don't sleep as good as normal because I am waiting for the phone to ring.

Hey Star, just wanted to pop in and say I'm here! I'm not all caught up yet but I'll get there, lol. Love the stuff you bought- if you need more glow sticks try eBay. I got a pack of 100 for about $10. We'll be glow crazy for Spectro and for MNSSHP!

So great that your mom helped with the trip and some other bills. Its kind of bittersweet- when my grandma passed my dad paid off my student loans and on one hand it was such a relief to have them paid off but I just cried when he gave me the check because I'd rather have my grandma and still be making those payments, kwim?

Our trips are sooooo close, its getting very exciting! :woohoo:

Thanks for taking the time to read! Too cool that we will be arriving the same day and have some park days the same!

I am so grateful for my mom. She really helps when she can. My granddaddy and I weren't that close, but since he only had 3 grandchildren, I would say my brother and I were the closest to him (he couldn't stand my sister!) He suffered for about 2 years before he died and lived a hard life. I just hope he has found some peace. It has been really hard for my mom, she still has bad days, but there have been more good lately!

The 1st trip we made with my dad and crew was with money from my grandmothers estate (his mother). My Bama and I were SUPER close. She had 6 grandchildren and I was her favorite! LOL!!! (she never admitted to having a favorite, but when she was in the hospital and hospice, it was me she would call for...not my dad or my uncle, but me) That trip was hard, as the last time I had been to WDW she went with us.

I am hoping to get to some rope drops.....DH likes to eat breakfast and waste one of our dining credits. The boys would be happy with a donut or poptart, and I would be happy with a danish, but he likes to waste time and sit down and eat in the food court!!!! :sad2: I know we made at least 1 last time.........that was for MGM and I think we have a ressie for b'fast.

I am pretty sure I don't need anymore glow sticks...I usually try to pick them up after Halloween on clearance, but thanks for the tip! I was reading your TR and Amanda's TR and remembered I need to get an over the door shoe organizer.... I have already gotten the pop up hamper!

Yesterday I took the boys to my moms and got home around 9. For some reason I had all this energy and decided to clean our bedroom!!!!!! One of the reasons I wanted to boys to go to my moms was so I could get some stuff done around the house. Of course I procrastinated and we only have 2 weeks lefts, including this one!!!!! WOW that went fast!

Today I took off, so I was able to get some running around done. I returned shorts I had gotten for DH from Kmart, I went to Kohls to look at a suitcase I want to get. It is made by Dockers is org $229, on sale for $119 and my friend has a coupon for 30% off your total if you use your Kohls charge. I went to look at it again and make sure it is a decent quality (it is!) and is easy to work with (it is!). I also went to Target and found Toy Story Bendaroo Book for $2.28!!!!!!!!!! They were 75% off!!!! The boys have just discovered Bendaroos:rolleyes1. I also went to Five Below and found waterproof cameras for the water park for $5!!!!! I got 2. I read somewhere that the WP have photopass photographers, then read WDW stopped that? So for $5, I figure it will be worth it!

I also ordered the Graco IPO Twin from Walmart today, it should be here by the end of Aug! That give me plenty of time to return it and get the Combi if need be.

So here are picts of what I got today

Hey, just thought i would say hi and that i loved reading your post. I am away on my trip in 1 week and 5 days so i know how excited you must be. my good ol ma and pa are talking me as a 30th birthday pressie. 3 years ago i was lucky enough to work in EPCOT (every person comes out tired)) in the uk pavilion. I am also lucky enough to still work for the company. i now work part time for the disney store while i am at university belatedly working towards my degree. The benifits of working for the company meant that i could surprise my parents with the free tickets they give us (4 a year) i had managed to save 8 and was soooo excited as this would mean only buying one 7day.....alas on a trip to London with my boy and his family my bag was nicked in a pub....which contained my purse....which contained my tickets....DOH!!!!! it also meant i had to buy a new passport ......oh well i have saved and my other bonus being having worked for the mouse for 3 years i now qualify for 35% off in the parks!!!!!! woohoo!!!!

lol anyway i am symapathising with your saving etc....all tho i only have to worry about me...so my hat goes off to you being so organised with your family....also what is fantasia???? :confused3

haha anyway i am sure you and your family will make some magical memories and have the best time ever...and you can take some peace in knowing that although i am already home pinning for my bowl of chilli at gasparillas you will still be excitingly awaiting your trip!!!

Happy Birthday! I just turned 30 this year!

Bummer about your purse with your tickets! But YAY for getting 35% off!

Don't go taking your hat off to me, I am not all that organized! I am a procrastinator and very scatter brained. Unless it is for something I am passionate about.........like Disney!

Fantasia is a home product company (I am a consultant and do parties for the 'hostess' who invited her friends to buy stuff....then the hostess gets free products.....Fantasia is to put it mildly romance products :rolleyes1). I am actaully a full time nurse but did that on the side for extra money. I think I am about done with it though...the money is not as good as it used to be.

I actually feel a bit better now that I am not 'talking' to myself!

but yes agrees on the disney passion tho.... even got me thru a rather evil split shift today... a 6am till 12 then a 4pm till 9...but with only 1 week 4 days to go i held on to my sanity.

so how are the kids? i have a niece and a nephew 5 and 8 respectively and we went to disney with them last time...it was a blast...they are such sweet kids, i will miss them this year but they are going to france on holiday this year. and i had great news from my other sister who is expecting her first child... i am so excited i love being an aunt! (i get to give them back!!)

anyhoo i am clearly blethering again. lol
will speak again soon

Having never flown to WDW before (well, not counting as a teen) this is a new experience for me!!!!!

The kids were so excited to get Mickey mail!

So was I!

I got our luggage at Kohls Tues, and sunglasses from TDS ($1.99/pair) for the kids! So now all the 'big' purchases for the trips are done... stroller and luggage, clothes for DH (he just needs a few tops), clothes for me. Now it is just little stuff. I'm still debating about getting the photopass CD...I wish they still did shares here, as $100 is a lot to swallow for pictures so that could be another big ticket item (which will have to wait until next month).

I got notification form Walmart that our stroller was shipped to the store and is in transit :cool1:

I finally gave in and called the ortho dr today to schedule an appt (next Thurs) for my knee. The pain is getting unreal so I am hoping he will give me another steriod injection and it will hold me for our trip.

Well off to clean the litter box...it's garbage night. Then I have loads of charting to do on my patients this week.

TGIF....it has been a long week, and I only worked 4 of them!!!!

Today started off nice! I went to see a patient, and his caregivers gave me ride tickets for a local fair. They get them for free since they work there (and don't need them as they ride for free!). They have me 4 sheets for us to take the kids to have some fun!!!!!! I called DH and we made plans to go to the fair after work since it would be a cheap night!

I was on my way to see my last patient about 30 minutes away from 'town' when the boys' daycare called me to tell me Cody said his neck and throat hurt, his whole body ached and he was just laying around all day. It would be about 2 and a half hours until I would be able toget him, so I called DH. Thankfully he was able to leave work early to get him. They came home, he dosed him with Motrin and he fell asleep. That was at 2:30 and he is still asleep!!!!

I just went to check on him, and looked at his tonsil....WOWSA, those are some red, angry, pus-y tonsils! Looks like we will be call the ped tomorrow and hoping they have office hours!

That also means no fair......hopefully tomorrow?

So that means I have tonight to do a whole lotta notta! :dance3: So I've decided to start making t-shirts for the boys! Because my house cleans itself!:rotfl2: and I have nothing better to do!

I'll post pictures later....I'm hoping I know what I am doing!! LOL!

Today didn't go as planned.......but what day ever does!

Cody was still sick when he woke up. I waited until 9 and called the ped. He's off this weekend, so I go the number of a covering dr. I call his office and they tell me, since we aren't regular patients, it would be $165 to see Cody today and then in 2 weeks, when our insurance pays them, they will cut me a check. Um....no. So I decided to take him to the Urgent Care place for the hospital I work for. It was a $25 co-pay and we were in and out! Of course he had no fever (it was 97.7, but last night it was up to 102.4). They did a rapid strep and guess what.........it was positive:sick:. Now something I don't understand is....why do the test? They were going to order him Amoxicillin anyway (which is what they ordered!) so why the test? Now before anyone gets offended, I am a nurse, so I know WHY, but to me it was unnecessary to do it if your plan of action was not going to change! Oh well, thank goodness for good insurance!

When we came home he was feeling ok, so we walked down to Community Day and looked around. Cody started to feel yucky so we walked home (it was only 2 block away). I had planned on taking them to the fair, but that did not happen. So we took a family nap!!!!

DH cooked dinner (crab meat stuffed chicken) and we just kind of bummed around the house.

I did get 2 shirts done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This one is for Shane

This one is for Cody
http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff336/starann98/communitydayshirts033.jpg

DH asked if I had more of the paper, I don't, but it's not really hard to get more. Well Now he wants a t-shirt..........but not for Disney. For the firetruck! He then informed me he didn't want the kids to wear their shirts in Disney, as you shouldn't have your child's name on them when you are in a busy place. Now he is correct, and the Disney Magic sometimes give us a false sense of security, but come on! We won't be right there? This is something we will discuss another day!

Oh, DH also said to the boys "You better get used to walking" I knew where he was going with it....Disney. He doesn't want to bring a stroller. I know better! So this may be a little battle we have to wage later.

Well, now that I have had a nap, I am not tired! Maybe I will do some more shirts.....or more likely I will watch some DVR!

So glad you came over to my ptr, so I could find yours!:goodvibes I have really enjoyed it. I know it has been a long wait, but now you have a little over a month:yay:

I have decided that you need to go shopping with me. I am good about finding good deals, but I always come home with way too much. It seriously is going to kill our extra money for disney. We need to pay our trips off soon and there goes all the money we have saved so far.

The stroller came!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally took it out of the car and put it together today!!!!!! I'm not sure if I am keeping it!!! LOL! I may take it and the boys this weekend and go to Buy Buy Baby to compare the two.

The Graco is nice.........the boys can climb in and out of it...... it folds fairly easy........it is the cheaper prices of the two.......it has 2 handles to push, rather than 1 long bar (I like 1 long bar!).

The COmbi is nice as well.........the boys will need to unlock the front bar (which they can do) to get in and out..........it is lighter.........it has the front bar to 'rest' Cody's legs on should he fall sleep......it had cup holders for the boys.

I was out of work today, sick, again! I rarely get fevers (I can maybe count on 1 hand the times I've had a fever as an adult) and had one last night, which mean body aches, major headaches and general feeling of YUCK!

I worked the full day, went to my chiro appt then ran home and got the kitten to take the vet for his shots then came home and laid on the couch! The only thing I ate all day was 2 string cheese sticks (a good way to loose some weight!!!!). I went to the dr today:sick: and she ordered more antibiotics and said again, the tonsils HAVE to get taken on! I have an appt with the ENT Seatp 12 or 14th (I can't remember which at the moment). I want to wait until after the trip as I don't want to take the chance of something going wrong and having to cancel Disney!!!! I guess you know you are a Disney Addict when you plan surgery around your trip:rotfl2:

I was scheduled to be off tomorrow, but in a way I am so happy since I can rest another day. And get some charting done (story of my life!)

Hey Star,

Just wondering what you decided about the stroller?

Also wanted to say that I think name shirts are more of an issue when you know you're not going to be with your child every second. For example at the park the kids often play on equipment where they may not be in our sight every second and therefore more vulnerable. When you know you're going to be together every second then the potential of a stranger taking advantage of a name on a shirt is greatly decreased. Of course still prep them and if dh is still uncomfortable then that's the decision you guys have to make... I just wanted to pass along our views in case you needed help convincing dh. ;)

Thanks, I'll pass the info onto DH! We'll see if he softens to the idea. I did them for hte boys to be able to wear Disney t-shirts while we are in Disney, with out having to pay a small fortune. Plus it feels nice to be able to say I 'made' them!

As for the stroller. It is ok. It sems a bit hard to push. Not terribly, but with my knee, it's enough. I took the boys to Buy Buy Baby tonight while DH was at a funeral and compared them. Now I am EVEN more confused!!!!! I am pretty sure I will return to Graco to Walmart. It is just too much to push. The salesman from BBB remembered me and was SUPER helpful! We tried the Combi again and the boys REALLY like it (for the cup holder, but it also seems as if they have more width room. Both the Graco and the Combi hold 50lbs each side. Cody was weighed last weekend and was 48lbs! Then the salesman asked why hadn't I considered the McClaren. I told him it was the price, $269 is a WAY lot more than I ever planned to spend. He them offered me last years model (the grey one) for 20%off and would let me use a 20% off coupon on top of it (it would be the floor model), which makes it CHEAPER than the Combi by about $15. It holds up to 55lbs each side!!!!!!!! Now what?!?!?!?!?!?! It pushes like a breeze!!!!!!!

I do like the Combi for the color (I know, so important), and the way it folds (book fold, which is cool), it folds like a dream too......it is wider for the boys to sit in and it has a bar across to push (I like that to lean on as I push!).

The Mcclaren pushes like a dream, folds a little complicated, has 2 handles to push, but does push like a dream, hold more weight, is cheaper.

Either one will be great in the airport and I would be able to push it and pull a suitcase. Most likely I will go with the Combi. But 1st I have to return the Graco to Walmart.

I must say the staff at Buy Buy Baby has been GREAT. The guy, Jeff, who I have been talking to in the past about the stroller, even offered to see if they carried the Graco I have and would return it on the spot so I could get the stroller tonight. He didn't have to do that!!!! The stoller pattern I have they carry in a single, but not a double (they do carry another print). Oh well it was really nice of him to look and to offer the extra $$$ off the Mcclaren!

I have no idea what has possessed me to think about this, 29 days before my trip, but now I am wondering if we should do MNSSHP or not. It would be $200 before tax and the only night we could do it is our last night there, Oct 3rd. We have ADRs at CM at 6:30, which means we could head over there after. I really didn't have anything planned that night, I was leaving it open for a do whatever night.

I'm going to see what DH thinks about it. $200 is no pocket change so I am a little torn.

What are your thoughts?

Big decisions with the stroller. If it were me I'd probably want the one that holds up to 55lbs just because I'd feel like I was getting more bang for my buck- BUT if having a bar to push is really important then I'd go with the Combi, definately take back the hard to push Graco! Just my 2 cents. :)

We are going to MNSSHP and I'm really looking forward to it. I was hesitant about spending the money too but I'm really glad we're getting the experience. We're going on our last night as well- October 1- and I just think its going to be a magical way to end our trip. :goodvibes

I have been planning a yard sale....I have asked a few friends if they want to join me. So it's either the 5th or the 11, which is right before our trip, if I do good, then we will go! I leave it up to the Yard Sale Gods!

We LOVE the party. We went twice on our last trip :) I would say definately go because it's so well worth the money, but not if you are going to be at Chef Mickeys at 6:30. CMs can run late, so even if you possibly get seated on time, figure an hour to eat and see all the characters, then you travel to MK, security, ticketing etc. That's getting you into the gates no earlier than 7:45. There is so much to do that missing 45 minutes of the party is a lot of time.

There is nothing like getting some WDW in the mail!!!! It had our 4 luggage tags as well as our 'vouchers' Now I just have to make sure they get packed!!!!

I think we have gotten it all now..the DME tags and the regular luggage tags. We still have to book the hotel at the airport with parking for the 24th, but that can (and will have to wait) until next pay!

Our packet of info came with a Photopass card......I have to look at it better to see if it has any deals for the CD. I am pretty sure I'm going to order it. I am thinking it will be great to use for Xmas cards!

The boys started school today!!!!!!! Actually, Cody started 1st grade and Shane will start K tomorrow, but for today he hung with the big kids, which meant NO NAP :faint: I knew this day would come, but BOY is he CRANKY! I am seeing a VERY early bedtime in his future!!!!!

Last Thurs I got my steriod injection. My last injection was heavenly, no pain 2 days after I got it.....here we are 4 days and I am still having pain. Lots of pain. I've started doing my stretches again to build the muscle around the knee back up, so hopefully it will help, if not I am really not sure what I will be doing. Stairs is a KILLER for me. I'm torn between sucking it up and dealing with it, or requesting a 1st floor room. Again dealing with it or calling the dr again to some pain meds (the last thing I want is to be feeling like crap while on vacation, and pain meds usually make me feel like crap, but if I am walking all day, something will have to give. Motrin makes my ulcer bleed so that is out too!).

Well I think I am off to get some more stuff in 1 place for the trip (like the DME and luggage tags!) so they have a high probability of getting packed!

I would definitely request 1st floor. You are going to be walking enough in the parks. By the end of the day you will be hating the thought of having to walk up stairs. I request 1st floor because I don't want to have to tote a sleeping kid up the stairs. I hope that shot helps you soon!

MNNSHP. This will be our first year there, but from all the pictures I have seen it seems like so much fun. If you have a garage sale then go ahead and use that money. But I do think if you go to the party then cancel CM. You don't want to pay money for the party and not be there for all of it.

Stroller issues... I love our stroller. Only problem is folding it up and the wheels falling off:laughing:. Good luck with the stroller. The Macclaren sounds pretty good. Our friends had one, just a single one, and couldn't fit anything under the seat, but it certainly was easy to push. Don't know if you have looked up Orlando Stroller rentals, but I think they are decent priced.

I would get the maclaren! (If you haven't already decided!)
I've heard that MNSSHP is great. We went to MVMCP last year and enjoyed it. It was pricey but fun. And the kids enjoyed walking on to all the rides.

Still so undecided on the stroller issue!!!! This is what happens when I am given too many choices. The Maclaren pushes really great, but it seems to have less room for the boys width. Both boys like the Combi, so I will probably go that route.

Thanks. So far it isn't. I've started my stretches again, so if they don't help by the middle of next week, I will be calling the Ortho again. Not sure what they can do for me, but we will see!

CM was one of DH's requests, but if we can squeeze in Germany, I think he might 'cave'! The way I feel about it....today at least.....is if I raise the money YAY, if not, no sweat. I need to get cracking on gathering more stuff for the Yard Sale, we have quite a bit, but we have TONS more! I guess this weekend! Maybe DH will take the boys to McD's playplace so I can go in the playroom and do a sneaky clean!!!

I haven't looked at the prices of Orlando Strollers, I may just to see. The whole idea of wanting to buy one is that we also want to go to the Philly Zoo sometime in Oct, so it will get used then............and if we have anymore kids :rolleyes1, I have a GOOD stroller!

So today I got called into the bosses office. NEVER a good thing. She told me that some coworkers were complaining that my work was not getting done. She was actually really nice about it (I was pretty miffed...if you have a problem with me, come to ME and I will fix it, I will do the same with you, that's how I roll). I am a visiting nurse, I see anywhere from 5 to 6 patients a day (3 days a week I see 5, 2 days a week I see 6). The days I ahve 5 patients are a 'catch up day' to finish up paperwork and make calls to dr offices.

We have recently started a Palliative Care program for patients who are not ready for Hospice but need some extra TLC. I LOVE Palliative Care....I was an oncology nurse before becoming a homecare nurse, and PC is a blend of the 2! The down fall of PC is that the patients are needy, understandably so, and require more time while with them (we are given about an hour a patient), sometimes close to 2 hours depending on how they are doing.

This was my schedule last week

Monday 6 patients
Tuesday 6 patients (and I was getting sick)
Out sick Wed
Out Thursday
Friday 6 patients

Monday 6 patients
Today 6 patients
Tomorrow they have me scheduled for 5 patients AND a 2 hour meeting at the hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !:sad2:

I will be talking to my boss tomorrow to let her know this is EXACTLY why I am often behind on my work. We are salaried, so no OT.

Needless to say my walls are twisted!

Now onto better topics........my boys!!!!

Cody had his 1st day of 1st grade yesterday!!!!!!!!!! He seems to like it, although I do have to send an email to his teacher to make her aware of some of his issues (I would hope it was discussed from teacher to teacher, but I don't want to assume).

Shane started K today! At our school, K is half day and the 1st day half the class goes, the 2nd day the other half, then the 3rd day they all start. Since our last name starts with a "Y" he went the 2nd day. However yesterday he came home and said

"Mom, no nap!!!!!!!"

me "why not?"

"Cause..... I'm a Kindergartener!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

He loves school and learning. He also picks things up so fast. He has the same teacher that Cody had last year for learning support, so this will be night and day for her!

Lately I have had a lot of trouble falling asleep. I'm TIRED all day, but once 6pm comes around I usually get a 2nd wind and I'm up til 2 or 3. Not a nice cycle.............anyway................

I decided at 9:30, while talking to my mom, I'm going to start cleaning. I started in the living room, then came over to the computer desk in the hall, then the bathroom. I then take a 'break' to watch Criminal Minds on DVR while sorting through some stuff from the computer desk. Finish CM, them head to our front porch. Now our front porch is enclosed and we NEVER use our front door.........unless you count opening it to throw whatever we don't want to deal with out onto the porch!!!! It is often the place where things go that don't have a home, or I'm trying to hide from my DH (Like the Thomas Kinkade my mom gave us...worth about $2000!!!). I know there a tons of yard saleable things out there. So for about 20 minutes I worked out there, found some stuff for YS, some stuff I need to pack away (like CDs...I refuse to part with them since I've had itunes crash and burn before, I don't want to lose all the music I own!) and some stuff that REALLY needs to make it up to the attic (like the halloween stuff from LAST year!!!!!!!).

This little cleaning run found a box of Xmas gifts I never mailed to my Goddaughter (I feel like a total tool!), a nice pile of stuff for YS, and a garbage bag of trash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1:

Of course while I was doing all this, I asked DH to straighten up in our bedroom (he was up there watching tv). A few weeks ago I did a major overhaul in there and it was starting to get carpeted in laundry again and had once more become the psycho dog's treasure dumping ground. Of course he got all huffy.... "Why bother, it never stays clean" UGH....it doesn't stay clean by pixie dust and magic!!!!!!!!!!! It stays clean when you CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF. When you put your dirty socks in the round plastic basket made just for dirty clothes rather than on the floor where ever you take them off at!

The boys' playroom is on my list of things to tackle this weekend and sadly it will be an ALL weekend project. My kids have entirely TOO much stuff, in fact the whole house has too much stuff. Watch out everyone, Mama is cleaning house and making money for Mickey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Work was better the last 2 days. And I have a 3 day weekend coming up

We tend to have a YS every year or 2. Last year we didn't so I have a lot of stuff to go through! I've been holding onto a lot of stuff 'just in case' not sure what the 'case' would be, so I am really purging! Although I have an attic FULL of baby stuff I need to go through, just not for this YS!

Thanks, I think my boys are adorable, but I'm their mom, it's my job!

Well I didn't have the energy today to do mush cleaning. I did cook dinner and do a sink full of dishes, so that's something, right?

I ran into AC Moore on my lunch break to see what sizes they have shirts in. Dh needs a 3x for me to make his Yoda shirt (which he says he will wear in Disney! Actually he requested I make it for him). They do have 3X shirts, but of course they are about $2 more than the other shirts:sad2: BUT being the coupon queen I am, I found a 40% off and a 50% off, so YAY! I'll go tomorrow and get him the shirt, maybe a shirt for me and another pack of transfer paper. Oh I also need card stock to make the boys some bookmarks.

(here is the link if anyone wants it, it os good for Fri and Sat only!)

I think I am going to get the stroller this weekend......or maybe Monday. I REALLY need to clean the playroom this weekend and I spoke with DH about getting rid of the kids for awhile so I can. He was on board.

Tonight our dog, Pokey, ate Shane's new Star Wars lunch box. Shane was hysterical. He tore the inside liner, but the outside was fine so he can use it until I find him another. Which will not be easy. Most store are sold out of any kind of lunch boxes and Star Wars has been impossible to find. I was just running around this week looking for one for my nephew and found ONE at TRU, it was in the shape of a clone troopers head, and it was the LAST one. Of course Shane wants the same one he had:sad2: Pokey also ate a SW figure toy tonight as well. He is not a puppy, he is 8, but he is SO bad. We've had behavior issues with him since we got him. Any time something like this happens DH says that is it, he's taking him to be put down (Pokey has bad food aggression and has bit DH in the past as well as the mailman. We don't just put our animals to sleep or give them up for silly things). I really don't want to as he was our 1st baby, but I also need to think of the kids and their safety. Not really what I wanted to deal with right now!

Here is the little monster..........he is so lucky he is cute!

YAY for a 3 days weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

I returned the stroller to Walmart today. I was going to stop at BBB to get the other one, but it got to be too late. Silly me forgot it was the 3rd, the day a lot of my patients count down to.........it is the day the social security and welfare checks come in..........which meant everyone and their brother were at Walmart cashing them and getting money orders to pay their bills. Which meant the line for returns was 15 people deep!!!!!:scared1:

I also ran to AC Moore to use my coupon (actually, I got half my stuff, paid for it, used a coupon and went back to another register and got the rest of my stuff and used another coupon). I manged to get DH 2 tshirts, another pack of iron on papers, card stock, 2 tote bags for MNSSHP (or at home TRT) and a shirt for me! They did have shirts on sale 2/$5, of course none of the shirts I got...Dh's were about $6 and mine was around the same. I have idea's for DH shirts, but not for mine, but was thinking something Halloween for MNSSHP.

I guess I am banking on going to MNSSHP! Guess next weekend will be the final say!

DH agreed to take the boys out Sunday to steamtown or something (IDK, boy stuff!) with his dad! Which is nice in a way....that he's taking them somewhere for the day.......but it's not really nice that I have to clean while they are gone, shouldn't I be able to relax and have some 'me' time? Oh well, guess I gotta wear my big gal panties!

When you are 21 days out form your trip, I do not advise looking at a food pron thread. Esp when you are hungry and all you have in the house defrosted to make is grilled cheese!

OMG, the food all looks so yummy.....in fact it is making me question my ADRs. We did Le Ceiller on our 1st trip. Dh and I weren't all that impressed, so we skipped it last year and this year. Now, looking at the FP thread and knowing it will be a 2 TS credit soon makes me wonder if I should try to get in? Hmmmm.

Well that is out.........I looked and nada for any of the days we are there. Oh well. Guess it was meant to be (or not be in this case!).

There is a little something that has be worried for our trip. The daily heartburn I have been having the past week or so. UGH, I have been eating Tums like they are going out of style. I take Protonix daily for an ulcer I have and usually heartburn is not a problem. Maybe I'll try taking it twice a day to see if it helps?

I printed out more transfers for the rest of the shirts and have the shirts in the washer (need to put them in the dryer). Hopefully I can get them finished today and put the iron back in the hall closet (to be used in another 5 years!!!:rotfl2:). We have to bring my car to the dealer at 2 today for 15,000 mile service and oil change. DH said we will take 2 cars to the dealer, drop my van off and go walk around Target for awhile. Who is this man and what has he done with my husband!!!!!!!!:rotfl: My DH NEVER volnteers to go shopping! I have to look at my list of stuff to get for the trip to see if there is anything I can get at Target, after all I am only 21 days away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So a recap of our 2006 trip. My grandmother, Bama, had passed away and my dad and uncle both split the estate. Rather than give us money, my dad offered to take us all on a vacation to WDW, all expenses paid. DH had never been and had no intention of ever going to see some ‘overpriced, overgrown rat.” But since the trip was FREE he was in. It was planned that we would go the weekend of Labor Day until the following weekend.

We were making plans with my dad one day and my (then) best friend had mentioned she wanted to go. Now to some that may seem a bit pushy, but her mom and my dad had been best friends growing up, I was engaged to her brother (we were together 7 years) and we were like sisters, so it was not pushy at all! Dad said he would love to bring her, so the crew for our trip was Dad, his DW, Liz, their 6mo old twins (my brother and sister), my 18 yo brother, my niece who was 10, me, DH and our 2 boys….oh and BF.

Dad decided the easiest (and cheapest) way to get us there would be to rent a 15 pass van and drive. He said we would stay at ASMo and booked the dining plan. This was when the DDP was WELL worth the money as it included tip AND an appetizer. One thing about my dad is he is a FOODIE so I think he was looking forward to the food the most. Dad and I planned, this was before I knew about the DIS, so we ordered a planning book and even knew to make our ADRs in advance. We talked about where we wanted to eat . Dad and bro had been a year or 2 before, so they had an idea of what places had. I called when it was time to make them as Dad is not a phone person! Then a few moneth before our trip Dieny announced FREE dining, so that was a HUGE savings, considering there were 6 adults!!!!!!

The trip was a lot of fun. Even with all those people! Don’t get me wrong, there were some bumps in the road. It was a lot of waiting, usually for my dad and Liz and the twins. Bf and I would often jump in to help with the twins, feeding them, getting them dressed or whatever. It was nice to have an extra set of hands to help with all the kids. The twins were only 6mo old and my 2 were 1.5 and 2.5 so we had 2 double strollers and lots of diaper changes and naps! Thankfully all the kids did really well and would often nap in the strollers.

Of the places I remember we ate were

Le Cellier
MBYBBQ
Coral Reef
LTT for lunch and dinner
Fulton’s
Hollywood and Vine (I think as part of the Fantasmic package)

I think I might be forgetting something, but I looked through the pictures and can’t find anyplace else.

I remember one day we went to MK and wanted to go on Haunted Mansion. The babies were all sleeping so DH agreed to stay outside with the 2 double strollers. The rest of us went on the ride and when we came out DH was standing with the strollers talking with a cast member.

DH: Explain the flowchart to him, he is a little confused. He thought they were all my kids (meaning the twins, and my boys!)

(my DH often jokes you need a flow sheet to keep track of my family….dad is on wife #4, my brother is from wife #3, me wife #2)

Me: pointing to my oldest bro….”He is my brother” …..pointing to the boys “they are his nephews”……..pointing to the twins “They are the boys’ aunt and uncle”…….pointing to Chey, my DN and my dad “She is his granddaughter, but not my child”…….pointing to Liz, Dad’s wife and my brother “She is my dad’s wife, but not his mother or my mother and younger then my husband”……pointing to my BF and my husband “She is my best friend and my ex’s sister, but I am married to him”

The poor CM just shook his head in amazement while we all laughed!!!!

The drive home was not near as fun or nice as the drive down as we all had pretty much had it with each other! But we survived!

So today I was thinking about my dad a lot. I think it had to do with writing out the quickie version of our 2006 trip. We don't speak anymore, things ended badly, VERY badly (the police were involved...not anything I did, my dad made some threats). I can honestly say I miss him a lot, I miss the relationship my boys and the twins could have had, I miss the holidays we all used to spend together. But at this time in my life, without some of my Dad's behaviors changing, we will not have a relationship.

So at 9:30 my phone rings, it's Liz, my dad's wife. Her and I still talk, usually on facebook, so it was a little surprising that she called. Robbie, my 4yo brother, is running a high fever and she wasn't sure what to do. Dad told her to call me, since I am a nurse and a seasoned mom. We had a nice talk for about a half hour. Her and I have talked about how all that has happened makes us sad and we wish that my Bama was alive (my dad would have NEVER acted the way he has if she were). I was REALLY surprised that my dad suggested she call me...usually from the word on the street, he doesn't have many nice things to say about me. I just thought it was weird that I was thinking about them and our trip and then she called!

Onto our day today. We did take the car to the dealer for service ($150 later:headache:), went to Pizza Hut:sad2: for lunch (I don't care for PH!) and went to Target and spent more money! We got dog food (with a $5 GC back!), socks and undies for DH, printer ink (with a $10 GC back!), ziplock bags to pack the boys clothes in (a complete outfit, with child's name goes on the bag so when we are on vacation I can just throw a bag at the boys and they can get dressed), travel toothbrushes and all that jazz. I wanted to get POTC for us to watch tomorrow night for family 'sleepover' (the boys and I sleep in the living room, camped out, and watch a movie). Of course they didn't have the movie! Doh! So after we picked up my car I ran to Walmart and got the movie............and another $80 worth of stuff!

I found really cute TS3 Pj's for the boys for $7. They were Buzz and Woody, and each set came with shorts and 2 tops, so that will be their PJ's for the trip! I also found a Dino shorts outfit for $3 each...the shirt and shorts for $3! I'll pack that on for the trip as the shirts are sleeveless, but they are large enough that they should be able to wear them next summer too! I might have them wear that outfit when we go to Trex! I also found Nemo Silly Bands (to match the TS ones I got in AC Moore this past week). Those will go into a suitcase and will come out as a surprise on vacation. I also found a few shirts for me for $3!!!! I may put transfers on them, or I may leave them blank for work? Guess I will have to see what kind of mood I am in!

Once I got home I finished the shirts for the boys and DH. I still have a red shirt for each of the boys, so I will do something Mickey or Disney on them. I also got them canvas bags for TRT at MNSSHP but I want to wait until I know we ARE going so I can put a Mickey themed Halloween transfer on them.

So here are some of my shopping and shirts!

These are the Photopass Cards, that tells you where you may find PP Photographers as well as 'special' PP picts (like Simba and Tink). I figure if I am spending all this money for the CD, I'm REALLY going to get my moneys worth!

DH's shirt. He wanted this, which I find hysterical. DH is a BIG guy (his shirt is a 3XL) and he wants a shirt about size!!! LOL!

And of course I got the movie!!!!!

What are your thoughts about your kids bringing a DS on the trip?

The boys don't have DS, they have Leapsters which are on their last legs. My mom had mentioned to them that she would get them each one (this was the begining of summer) but hasn't yet. Now the boys are asking about them, so I told them they had to ask their Mema if she still plans on getting them (she is usually REALLY good about not promising things unless she will come through).

I thought that they would be great to have for the trip....for the hotel in Philly (which DH booked this week!), the airport and the hotel room at night. I would not allow the boys to bring them to the parks at ALL. They would get locked in the safe daily while we were out. Last 2 times we went down we drove so I was able to pack a small box of toys for them to play with as we did the bedtime routine or while DH and I were getting ready in the morning. I don't really have that option this trip.

I'll have to see what my mom says about getting them (she might be holding out for Xmas, which would be ok too). Of course I would need to pick up a few games, but usually they are on sale somewhere, and even if both boys got 2 games, that is 4 between them to share, which would be more than enough until Santa could bring them more.

So do you bring the DS or leave it home?

Because I may just KILL my DH!!! (and I don't mean DEAR!).

I worked today, go the chiro (my neck has been bothering me since the weekend), then pick Cody up to take him to the therapist, then if that wasn't enough for 1 day, I had to take my sister to Walmart.

The last 3 days, our greyhound, Chloe, has had diarrhea. Totally gross! Last night she even went in her crate, the poor thing. So today DH and I said we would leave her out of the crate...easier to clean poop off the floor then the entire crate and dog, in case she still has it.

I roll into the house at 8pm (dh got home at 5:30) and right away I am hit with the awful smell of poop. I find DH on the couch, the kitchen a mess, dinner not even started, then I walk into the living room and see, not 1, not 2, but FOUR piles of liquid dog poop sitting on the floor. I WAS LIVID. He said he planned on cleaning it up, but took a nap instead! ***?!?!?!? REALLY? The smell allowed you to sleep? Unreal!! Can you guess who cleaned it up (who was lucky enough to get down on her hands and bad knee)? Huh, can ya?

So I may just kill him.

Off to give the dog some immodum and to do some work for work!

Wow, 15 days away. 14 if you count the day we leave to go to the airport!

This means only 9 more days of work!!!!!! Speaking of work, today was a rough day. Not in a frustrating, I hate my job kind of way, but in a 'I'm so sad for all my patients' kind of day. I found out today that 1 patient signed onto hospice and was transferred to the inpatient unit. This man was 61 and has fought cancer for a long time, but all he wanted to do was make it until December for his son's wedding. Sadly, he won't. Another patient I saw yesterday (she is my 'teachers pet' I just adore her!) had planned her funeral a few hours before my visit. Her and her family took a WDW vacation a few months back, for the last time. I enjoy my visits with her so much and I feel as if I am getting more out of them then she is. I also sent another pt to the hospital today, and my guess is he, too, will be sent home with hospice. He is much older, but had been the 'healthy' on when compared to his wife. He was fixing the garage door one day, hurt his back, and the next was told he had stage 4 metastatic bone cancer, and the drs aren't sure where it started. Now 2 months later his wife is the healthy one of the 2 as her problems aren't near as bad as him. He kept thanking me today, as I was sending him off to the hospital with the ambulance crew, he was so grateful I was there today to handle all of the phone calls and issues today.

They are the reason I LOVE my job. I hate the paperwork, the cattyness of my coworkers, the amount of work I have to do (and the amount I get paid to do all this work), but I LOVE the patients, I love being there for them when they need someone, when the doctors are gone and they have questions, when their family is out of the room and and they ask me how it will all end....I become the person they turn to, and that is the best payment I could ever get.

Tomorrow is our yard sale! Wish me luck!!!! MAMA needs to make $200 for our MNSSHP tickets!!!!!

Thanks to Hope and her PTR, I am going to do a countdown to Disney! I'm already a day behind as yesterday was 14 days to go!

14 Days to go..................................

Today I had a yard sale with a friend. The goal was to make $200 as DH said if I did, we could go to MNSSHP. Well I made $115.64! Didn't hit my goal, but DH said it would sure help and we 'might as well go'. So at 14 days to go, I am excited to go to MNSSHP for the FIRST time:banana:

I have never been, even though our past trips lined up with it. I am excited to see all the characters and I know the kids are excited to go TRT!!!!

NOW, I just need to come up with costumes....any ideas?

13 Days to go
As I said, a friend was YSing with me and asked me what I was most excited for. I have to say spending time with my family. No work, no bills, no dogs and no outside family!!!! Just us!!!!

STARANN!!!

Heya neighbor! I saw your link to this TR on another thread about the Cape May Clam Bake & thought I'd pop on over & say hi! WOW less than 2 weeks to go!!! I leave 6 weeks from today on a girls only trip with 4 friends (3 that I met right here on The DIS a few years ago!) There's been so much drama at work lately (sounds familiar, right?) that I cannot wait to go on this trip.

You have to let me know how MNSSHP is. I have gone to the MVMCP, but this will be my 1st time at MNSSHP.

You had asked about the DS....we went as a fmaily back in February & mine took their handheld stuff (I think one took DSi & the other his iPod Touch)....and they didn't use them AT ALL. DS13 used the iTouch on the plane on the way down, I used it on the plane on the way home to play Solitaire, that was it. I said next time they stay home!

HELLO Stranger!!! I stopped in the store a few months back and got one of the liquids with the sticks (it smells so good). They kept asking if I wanted candles, but I told them I was waiting for F&F!!! LOL!

How old are your kids? The reason I ask is I would LOVE to take a 'me' trip (with some DIS friends) but since the boys are so little, I would feel so guilty doing so. I keep saying when they are older?!

I'll let you know how MNSSHP is....I'm really excited for it, heck I'm excited for the whole dang trip! Are you going to dress up?

TaraPA
09-12-2010, 08:53 PM
I don't plan on dressing up for MNSSHP - but one of the ladies I'm going with said for everyone to bring a plain black shirt, so she's plotting something for that night! What are you dressing up as?

I've done all kinds of trips to WDW - I did a trip alone with each son, I went totally solo for F&G in 2008, and this will be my 3rd girls only trip. My boys are now 10 & 13, so they were 8 & 11 the 1st time I went with a girlfriend in 2008. We had a BLAST. Last November I went with a group of six - 5 from The DIS (all from PA so we had met many times prior to going) & I dragged my boss & BFF from Yankee Candle along. I was so nervous that she wasn't going to be into WDW like I am - and now she is HOOKED. She's coming back on the girls trip in 6 weeks - and staying even longer than I am! It's very hard to leave the boys, I get such a guilt trip the few days before that I always think I'm going to cancel! But once I'm there I'm fine. I only go for 3 or 4 nights on the girls trips.

1. Order Photopass CD (does anyone know when I have to have the pre-order done by?

2. Get earplugs for the boys and the fireworks

3. Make sure we have enough dog and cat food and clean the turtle tank (it needed it a month ago)

4. Order our MNSSHP tickets!!!!

5. Deposit the yard sale money and a mileage check into my 'extra' account, so the money doesn't get spent between now and then.

6. Get all the vacation money out of the 'extra' account and deposit it in my and DH account (will do this the day or 2 before we leave).

7. Make an appt to get my hair cut and colored

8. Make the boys' TRT bag for MNSSHP

9. Make myself a shirt since I made them and DH shirts!

10. Make them a Mickey shirt (they have SW and UP that I made, plus 2 TS3 ones I picked up, oh and WallE ones), but I want them to have a Mickey shirt.

11. Get the boys DSs. Not 100% sure I am doing this, I will have to see the funds!

12. Get post care list together

13. Make souvie list (things for my closest friends little girls, and my niece and nephew)

14. Clean out my car, as we have to take it to the airport hotel to be parked. DH's car will be dropped off for service while we are done.

15. Submit in 2 mileage checks totaling $358.50 done 9/13

16. Print Mousekeeping envelopes and put money in them and pack it!

Anything I am missing?

off to go get some of the spare room straighten, which is where we have all the Disney stuff right now!

Just thought of one...would like some opinions

I have a short list of people who I want to send Post cards to. But in thinking of them, it got me thinking about my patients. I am pretty 'protective' over my patients and hate the idea of them being seen by another nurse. While just about all the nurses I work with are capable of giving good care, it's not me. I know what has been going on, I know what to look out for, I'm just a bit sad that they will be 'alone' for the week+ I am gone.

So should I send post cards to them? I don't want it to seem like I am throwing it in their face that I am in Disney, and in thinking about it, I don't think any of them will take it like that.

I think postcards would be a lovely gesture! As long as the patients and/or familes know ahead of time you're going, I don't think anyone would see it as throwing Disney in their face - hey everyone deserves a vacation! Tell them you're away re-charging your batteries to come back & give them even better attention & care, if anyone questions it. I know my grandfather & our family worshipped his hospice nurses & would have been tickled pink to get a postcard from one of their vacations. That shows that you really love your job & your patients, it's ot just a paycheck for you.

OMG are you down to 12 days now - or is it 11??

I must also add, I am excited to meet a DIS friend! He and I were talking today and we made plans to 'meet'!!!!!!!!!!! This guy is GREAT and I am fortunate to call him (soon) a real life friend!

I am now a crazy lady.....I have to get the boys costumes for MNSSHP as well as TRT (they will be used for both!).

I am also searching for our Pressed Penny Folder. We got one on clearance last trip, and had been putting the pennies in there......but now I can't find it, which means I can't find our pressed pennies! Opps! And stuff like this drive me BONKERS. I can picture the book, inside and out, but I can't find the little bugger! I've look in the obvious places....now it is time for the less obvious! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Today I am excited for POTC! The last 2 trips we did not ride it, I thought it would be too scarey for the boys. This year they are more than ready for it. They LOVE Pirates! We have watched the last 2 POTC movies over the last 2 weekends and they have been playing Pirates! It is too cute! In fact they both want to be Pirates for Halloween, which will work out nicely for MNSSHP! Cody likes to play with a plastic sword he got at a fair this summer, when he 'pirate fights' his little booty shakes...it is beyond cute!

I think so too. The patients I currently have are fairly close to me. In fact one was just in the hospital was discharged today and requested to anyone who would listen that I be his nurse when he came home :lovestruc. I just wrote down their addresses and will tuck it away in my suitcase. It's funny, I go to their houses a few times a week but for the life of me could not tell you their addresses!!!!! Good thing I thought of it now!

I was thinking of going to Hospice, but with Palliative care, I get the best of both worlds!

11 days (in a few hours, 10!!) till the trip, 7 more days of work

I'm so glad you are going to MNSSHP!!! We love it. I'm trying to talk myself into going twice because we love it so much!!!

You are crazy!!!! I am glad too, now I just need to get the boys costumes! Thankfully they are REALLY into pirates so I see a Jack Sparrow in their future! I won't dress up, but I may make a shirt that says something Halloweenish. I saw some cute sayings at AC Moore. I'll talk to DH to see if he would wear a shirt that says "I don't do costumes" But I doubt it!

I just emailed both their teachers to make them aware of the trip (I got approval for the trip from the office already). So that is done! Tomorrow I might got to Party City to look for costumes. I really don't have time to order then online. Opps!

I've been working on cleaning my basement....it is partially finished, and that part has been the home of laundry that isn't really needed (blankets and odd socks) and gets done when we are caught up on other laundry. (which hardly EVER happens!) Anyway I was down there looking for our pressed penny holder (still haven't found it) and see that one of the cats has used that area for a litter box:headache: Soo guess what laundry got done!!!!! I'm not sure why he did that, but I might try putting another box down in the basement (we have 1 for 2 cats).

Tonight we have been working on homework. Cody is in 1st grade and had spelling words. Thankfully he seems to know them down pat!!!! He left his folder and assignment book either at school or daycare. He is his mother's son! I just hope whatever he misses is this easy for him! Shane's homework is a calendar of 25 items and we have to pick 15 for him to do over the course of the month. He has been working on it and has almost all of it done. Then he sat here and started writing words...random words. And spelling them all correctly!

It amazes me how different they are. Cody is street smart, he can build something with legos or play the Wii and beat levels my DH can't! Shane is book smart, he far exceeds his brother when it comes to school, it just comes so easy to him, but the Wii not so much. I am in awe of what little men they are becoming.

Today I ran to Walmart inbetween patients to pee (I know where all the clean bathroom are in the areas I work!!!!:lmao:) and they had Lego Tshirts with a small Lego set that came with it, so of course I got one for each of them! I also almost got them new Leapster games. They have a lot of them, but not the new Toy Story one or the Peguins of Madagascar. I thought about it and decided to wait to see if I'm going to get them the DSs. Now that I think of it I may pick them up (as they were on sale) and if I get the DSs I can return them. (although in talking with DH he wants to wait to get the DS until Xmas, so that solves that internal debate!) Now I have to remember lots of batteries for the Leapsters. I usually get the Enegizer Lithium as they last a lot longer!

Well I have gone on long enough...time for bed!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!10 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I am looking forward to rides, lots and lots of rides! My kids are ride hounds and would live at a fair if they could! They are so excited to ride the rides, I think even more so than seeing the characters. But maybe not as much as the pool!

I was telling them about the trip, how things will go once they come home from school on Friday (gonig to the hotel, the airport, the flight, DME). I tell them once we get checked into the hotel we can go to the Magic Kingdom. They tell me they want to go swimming!!! LOL! Like they haven't been swimming all summer:rolleyes: Oh well, whatever makes them happy!

I have a list of 'new' rides and shows to us (off the top of my head)
Nemo show
Beauty and the Beast
Lion King

POTC
BTRM
Astro Orbitor (not sure how we missed this on past trips!)
Hall of Presidents
Haunted Mansion (this is new to DH and the boys)
Tiki Room

Test Track
The Countries rides
Soarin (new to the boys)
The 'Golf Ball' as DH calls it!

Dinosaur

I know there are more than that, but that list is at home!

Since the boys have recently started to really LOVE pirates, I looked into booking them with the Pirates League. Of course the day we plan to go to MNSSHP they are completely booked! But they did have another day available the day we are doing MK (and LTT for lunch!). I made the appt for after lunch at 12:40, and the booking agent said that at 2pm they do a "Pirates Parade" so the boys will be tickled!

This will be another surprise for them!!!!!

Also today I got the mail and our good friends in the Outer Banks (I've talked about them before) sent a card for the boys, with a check for $100, $50 for each boy 'to buy something special' while they are on vacation. These people are just too wonderful for words! Really Amazing! I don't talk to my Dad anymore, and it just leaves me speechless that these people think of my kids!

How nice that your friends thought of the boys! And I am so excited for them for Pirate's League, they will love it.

Definitely send your patients some postcards for disney. I am sure that would make their day. So nice of you to think about them!

Your list of things that you haven't done before/would like to do has alot on there that I would say don't miss out on. My favs from your list are AK- FoTLK, Nemo. MK- PoTC, BTMRR, and HM, Epcot- Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico, Test Track, Soarin', and Maelstrom in Norway.

Woohoo for only 10 days left!!! Single digit dance is tomorrow!:dance3: Sorry couldn't help it!:rotfl:

Woot Woot, Single Didgets!!!!!!

Today I am excited for the surprises in store for the boys. They knew about the trip (although now I wish it were a surprise), they have found some of the 'extras' I have gotten them for the ride and hotels (guess I did a crummy job of hiding them)..But I have managed to plan a few surprises!

One is Pirates League....they will LOVE this!

Another is our Trex dinner and Build a Dino. I thinkm they will like this (not as much as the Pirates League though!).

I almost wish there was a Pirates meal.....for boys. There are so many Princess meals, but none that are geared to boys. Sure they like Mickey and Pooh, but it would be nice to ahve another option for them!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:8 DAYS!!!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Today I am excited for.........a day with my Nana, Papa and Mom!

My mom was going ot fly down and surprise us, but she had to tell me since I made the dining ressies! Four Generations in 1 park!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to order the photopass CD so I will be sure to get LOADS of pictures this day. Nana is my last living grandparent and my boys' last great-grandparent. These pictures will be extra special!

The other day at TRU I got the boys M&M containers to make pressed penny tubes. Well I put them some place 'special' so the boys would not find them and so the dog would not eat them. For 2 days I have searched the house and car top to bottom. I even looked for the bag in the trash couldn't find them. Yesterday I stopped to the local grocery store and found the small ones, so I picked them up.

Can you guess what I found today?!?!?!?!?!?! Ding, Ding, Ding, I found the 1st tubes!!! They were in the passenger door sleeve! I was getting gas in the car today and went over to the passenger side and there they were!!!!

Guess I know what I am doing this weekend!

This time next week we will be sitting on a plane!!!!!!:cool1:

Today I am excited for.....peace and quiet....at least I hope to get some! The boys have been doing nothing but fighting lately, DH has been in a FOUL mood and I have been too tired to do much. I'm hoping that some time away from it all will help us regroup as a family.

I have SOOOOO much to do and being on the DIS is not one of them!:rotfl: Laundry, packing, cleaning, charting, and cleaning the turtle tank is at the top of my list.....yet the DIS is where I sit (cause it is a lot more fun than any of those other things!).

Well I guess I am off to be a grown up and get something done!

I can't believe it's almost time for your trip! I've been off of the DIS a lot because I had to cancel my trip. (Stupid work.) :headache: I know it pays for my trips but they need to make their minds up as to what's going on around here. New company's coming in and you'll paid out for all of your vaca time, never mind no new company at this time you can use your time. Great, I already canceled my reservations. GRRRRR!
I hope your trip clears all of the crabbiness going around.

You are welcome. Really, it's me who should be thanking my patients! What I get back is so much more than I give....most days! Yesterday I ran into a man who I saw a few months ago....it was a disaster of a visit and I was at his house for 3 hours trying ot get him placed in a rehab late on a Friday. I finally was able to, after many phone calls and frustration. Well Yesterday I saw him (he is a greeter at Walmart) and he gave me a BIG ole hug and thanked me for making a difference in his life.....

5 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

WOWSA!!!!! This week at work (well, 4 days) is gonig to DRAAAAAAAAAGGG on. Although, now I am down to 3 more work days (ah, ah,ah, ah, ah, ah... like the Count!). So even better! Talk about wanting to pee yourself!

I made my Mousekeeper envelopes. Last time we just left the money on the thing that had the Mousekeepers name, but this way I can prefill them and just take one out of the safe every day, rather than worry if we have enough in $1 and $5.

I made pressed penny tubes for the boys now that I finally found then in the super safe, super secret, place I put them! However the DOG ate the EMPTY container! That's right, no M&Ms were in it, but he ate it :sad2: UGH that dog! So now I have to get another one.

So today I am excited for........

Downtown Disney shopping!!!!!!!! I LOVE to shop! Dh and the boys are excited to go to the Lego store! OH the money they will spend!

4 Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, it seems SO unreal to type that! I have SO much to do (I am such a procrastinator!), work has me super busy, although tomorrow my boss gave me less patients so I can get everything finished! I have a hair appt tomorrow for a cut and color because I have nothing better to do with 2 and a half hours 3 days before I leave for WDW!

I have to pack for me and the boys. I will have to put that off until Thurs night or Friday morning since we all wear shorts during the week at home. I have to go to the bank. I submitted in my mileage check and still have not gotten it. I am REALLY hoping it comes by Friday...if not, there won't be as much cash flow (the check is almost $400). So send good thoughts that it will come. I may make a phone call tomorrow to see if rather then mailing it, they will hold it and I will pick it up, so I can make sure I have it.

Today I am excited for no messes. I know that sounds like a funny thing to be excited for, but it seems like no matter how often I clean my house is always a mess. At least in our hotel it will be so much more manageable and NO COOKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh no cooking, very little cleaning is why I LOVE vacation!

Woot, Woot!

I am at a loss of 'excited stuff', it was a long day at work, as my last day before vacation is tomorrow:banana::banana: But that meant today and tomorrow will be BUSY! I need to get some loose ends tied up so I can leave my laptop at the office.

Maybe that is today's I am excited for.............no laptop, which means NO work to follow me on vacation (my laptop comes home every day and there is always stuff ot be done on it....ugh!).

Tomorrow will be busy with work, then home to gather up the trash in the house, do laundry and some cleaning and PACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:banana::banana::banana:2 Days!:banana::banana::banana:

I just might pee myself...that is if I didn't have a ton of stuff do tonight and tomorrow!!!

Tomorrow night we leave for the airport after DH gets home for work. We may meet friends of his for dinner, then chill out at the hotel and morning will come VERY early as our flight leaves at 7am and we have to leave the hotel at 5am:scared1:

I got the boys their costumes tonight and thankfully I did, as Shane's is too small, so I have to go back to the store to see if they have a larger one! UGH!

That brings me to my excited for post......... I am excited for MNSSHP! We have never been and getting their costumes has added to the excitement. I have not gotten the tickets yet as I want to make sure it's not going to POUR for it (as $200 is a lot of money to get wet for!). I worry that we will miss something in it, a parade, a character, but oh well, it will be what it will be!

Tomorrow the boys will be at school, DH will be at work and I will be home! Well in and out all day as I have TONS of stuff to do....like pick up my mileage check!! A gal at my office was able to convince them to hold my checks...that's right, the $400 check and....are you ready, a $33 check!!! LOL! It was supposed to be a $203 check, but due to a computer glitch, only $33 went through, so when I come home I will get the rest. At least I got the bigger one! It would have been nice to have that extra $170, but it will be nice coming home to it.

I was able tonight to get some laundry done, some cleaning done and DH and I cleaned the turtle tank!!!! That hasn't been done for quite some time, so I'm glad that is done!

Off to preorder my photopass CD!

This time tomorrow we will be sitting on an airplane! This will be the boys' 1st ride on a plane, so they are super excited! (although still more excited for the pool!)

Today I have to...............
Go to work to pick up a check
Go to bank to cash the check
Go to Party City to exchange Shane's Costume
Go to Walmart to pick up a few last minute things
Go to the boys' school to pick up their school work

Clean out the car

oh and pack and go to a funeral for my best friends grandfather!

So I am getting off the DIS....I may be able to post something from my iphone tonight....I'll have to see. If not I hope those who are leaving soon enjoy their trip!

I promise I will start my TR soon, but life, since coming home, has been a bit out of sorts.

Recently I have been sick, a lot, but at least for a good reason, we are expecting our last baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have hyperemesis, which is SEVERE nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. I have lost 12 pounds in the last 3 weeks and the oral meds have not worked so now I am on a pump of anti nausea meds. I have very little energy and the little I do have is spent at work (yup, I'm still working with all this!) and then with my kids.

I am due in May and feel like it will never get here!

SO I promise, once I start to feel a bit more like myself I will start the TR as well as a baby report!

laashley
